of their groaning          by reason of

,because this nation have transgressed

 get you          down into the camp2

 out into the field1 and gathered their 
vineyards1          and trod the grapes1

,who is ,abimelech1 and who is ,shechem1
          that we should serve him8

the men of ,hamor the father of

people were under my hand6 then would ,i
          remove ,abimelech4  ,he said  
to ,abimelech1 ,increase your army1

 ruler of the city heard the words of

people down from the tops of the        

mountains4  ,zebul said to him1         
,you see the shadow of the mountains as

people down          by the middle of   
the land1 and one company comes by the  
way          of the oak of ,meonenim4

brothers1 that they should not dwell in

next day1 that the people went out into

people1 and divided them into three

the people came forth out of the city2

the companies that were with him1 rushed
 forward1          and stood in the     
entrance of the gate of the city3       
and the two companies rushed on all who 
were in the field1          and struck  
them4  #jji3jde ,abimelech fought       
against the city all that day2 and he   
took          the city1 and killed the  
people who were therein3          and he
 beat down the city1 and sowed it with  
salt4  #jji3jdf ,when all the men of the
 tower of ,shechem heard of it1         
they entered into the stronghold of the 
house of ,elberith4  #jji3jdg ,it was   
told ,abimelech that all the men of the 
tower of ,shechem          were gathered
 together4  #jji3jdh ,abimelech got him 
up to ,mount ,zalmon1 he and all the    

people          who were with him2 and  
,abimelech took an axe in his hand1     
and cut down a bough from the trees1 and
 took it up1          and laid it on his
 shoulder3  and he said to the people   
who were with him1 ,what you have seen  
me do1 make haste1          and do as ,i

likewise cut down every man his bough1  
and followed ,abimelech1 and put them to
 the stronghold1          and set the   
stronghold on fire on them2 so that all

near to the door of the tower to burn it

cast an upper millstone on ,abimelech's

young man his armor bearer1          and
 said to him1 ,draw your sword1 and kill

thrust him through1          and he

departed          every man to his

 wickedness of ,abimelech1 which he did 
to his father1 in killing his seventy

,god requite          on their heads3   
and on them came the curse of ,jotham

,abimelech there arose to save ,israel

lived in ,shamir          in the hill

died1 and was          buried in

,jair1 the ,gileadite2 and he judged

donkey colts1 and they          had

there were gathered vain fellows to

 ,it was so1 that when the children of  
,ammon made war against ,israel1        
the elders of ,gilead went to get       
,jephthah out of the land of ,tob2

,come and be our chief1 that we         
may fight with the children of ,ammon4  
#jaa3jjg ,jephthah said to the elders of
 ,gilead1 ,didn't you hate me1          

and drive me out of my father's house8  
and why are you come          to me now

 elders of ,gilead said to ,jephthah1   
,therefore are we          turned again 
to you now1 that you may go with us1 and
 fight          with the children of    
,ammon2 and you shall be our head over

again to fight with the children of

between us2 surely according to your

saying1 ,what have you to do with me1   
that you are come to me          to

when he came up out          of ,egypt1 
from the ,arnon even to the ,jabbok1 and

restore those lands again peaceably4

the land of ,moab1 and came by the east 
side          of the land of ,moab1 and 
they encamped on the other side         
of the ,arnon2 but they didn't come     
within the border of ,moab1          for
 the ,arnon was the border of ,moab4

,sihon king of the ,amorites1           
the king of ,heshbon2 and ,israel said  
to him1 ,let us pass1          we pray  
you1 through your land to my place4

,israel to pass through his border2     
but ,sihon gathered all his people      
together1 and encamped in ,jahaz1       
and fought against ,israel4  #jaa3jba   
,yahweh1 the ,god of ,israel1 delivered 
,sihon and all his          people into 
the hand of ,israel1 and they struck    
them3          so ,israel possessed all 
the land of the ,amorites1 the          

inhabitants          of that country4   
#jaa3jbb ,they possessed all the border 
of the ,amorites1 from the ,arnon       
even to the ,jabbok1 and from the       
wilderness even to the ,jordan4         
#jaa3jbc ,so now ,yahweh1 the ,god of   
,israel1 has dispossessed the ,amorites 
from before his people ,israel1 and     
should you possess them8  #jaa3jbd      
,won't you possess that which ,chemosh  
your god gives you to possess8          
,so whoever ,yahweh our ,god has        
dispossessed from before us1            
them will we possess4  #jaa3jbe ,now are
 you anything better than ,balak the son
 of ,zippor1          king of ,moab8 did
 he ever strive against ,israel1 or did 
he ever fight against them8  #jaa3jbf   
,while ,israel lived in ,heshbon and its
 towns1 and in ,aroer          and its  
towns1 and in all the cities that are   
along by the side          of the       
,arnon1 three hundred years2 why didn't 
you recover          them within that   
time8  #jaa3jbg ,i therefore have not   

sinned against you1 but you do me wrong 
to war against me3  ,yahweh1 the ,judge1
 be judge this day          between the 
children of ,israel and the children of 
,ammon4  #jaa3jbh ,however the king of  
the children of ,ammon didn't listen    
to the words of ,jephthah which he sent 
him4  #jaa3jbi ,then the ,spirit of     
,yahweh came on ,jephthah1 and he passed
          over ,gilead and ,manasseh1   
and passed over ,mizpeh of ,gilead1     
and from ,mizpeh of ,gilead he passed   
over to the children of ,ammon4         
#jaa3jcj ,jephthah vowed a vow to       
,yahweh1 and said1 ,if you will indeed  
deliver the children of ,ammon into my  
hand1  #jaa3jca then it shall be1 that  
whatever comes forth from the doors     
of my house to meet me1 when ,i return  
in peace from the children          of  
,ammon1 it shall be ,yahweh's1 and ,i   
will offer it up          for a burnt   
offering4  #jaa3jcb ,so ,jephthah passed
 over to the children of ,ammon to fight
          against them2 and ,yahweh     

delivered them into his hand4  #jaa3jcc 
,he struck them from ,aroer until you   
come to ,minnith1 even twenty           
cities1 and to ,abelcheramim1 with a    
very great slaughter4          ,so the  
children of ,ammon were subdued before  
the children of ,israel4  #jaa3jcd      
,jephthah came to ,mizpah to his house2 
and behold1 his daughter          came  
out to meet him with tambourines and    
with dances3          and she was his   
only child2 besides her he had neither  
son nor daughter4  #jaa3jce ,it         
happened1 when he saw her1 that he tore 
his clothes1          and said1 ,alas1  
my daughter6 you have brought me very   
low1          and you are one of those  
who trouble me2 for ,i have opened      
my mouth to ,yahweh1 and ,i can't go    
back4  #jaa3jcf ,she said to him1 ,my   
father1 you have opened your mouth to   
,yahweh2          do to me according to 
that which has proceeded out of your    
mouth1          because ,yahweh has     
taken vengeance for you on your enemies1

          even on the children of       
,ammon4  #jaa3jcg ,she said to her      
father1 ,let this thing be done for me3 
let me alone two months1 that ,i may    
depart and go down on          the      
mountains1 and bewail my virginity1 ,i  
and my companions4  #jaa3jch ,he said1  
,go4  ,he sent her away for two months3 
and she departed1 she and her           
companions1 and mourned her             
virginity on the mountains4  #jaa3jci   
,it happened at the end of two months1  
that she returned to her father1        
who did with her according to his vow   
which he had vowed3          and she was
 a virgin4  ,it was a custom in ,israel1
  #jaa3jdj that the daughters of ,israel
 went yearly to celebrate the daughter  
of ,jephthah the ,gileadite four days in

northward2          and they said to

,ammon1 and didn't call us to go        

with you8 we will burn your house on you

strife          with the children of

didn't          save me out of their

barren1 and don't bear2 but you shall

and drink no wine nor strong drink1     
and don't eat any unclean thing3

 shall conceive1 and bear a son2        
and now drink no wine nor strong drink1

again to the woman as she sat in the

of anything that comes of the vine1     
neither let          her drink wine or  
strong drink1 nor eat any unclean thing2

us detain you1          that we may make
 ready a kid for you4  #jac3jaf ,the    
angel of ,yahweh said to ,manoah1       
,though you detain me1          ,i won't
 eat of your bread2 and if you will make
 ready          a burnt offering1 you   
must offer it to ,yahweh4          ,for 
,manoah didn't know that he was the     
angel of ,yahweh4  #jac3jag ,manoah said
 to the angel of ,yahweh1 ,what is your 
name1          that when your words     
happen1 we may honor you8  #jac3jah ,the
 angel of ,yahweh said to him1 ,why do  
you ask after my name1          seeing  
it is wonderful8  #jac3jai ,so ,manoah  
took the kid with the meal offering1 and
 offered          it on the rock to     
,yahweh3  and the angel did wondrously1 
and ,manoah and his wife looked on4     
#jac3jbj ,for it happened1 when the     
flame went up toward the sky            
from off the altar1 that the angel of   

,yahweh ascended in          the flame  
of the altar3  and ,manoah and his wife 
looked on2          and they fell on    
their faces to the ground4  #jac3jba    
,but the angel of ,yahweh did no more   
appear to ,manoah or to his wife4       
,then ,manoah knew that he was the angel

his wife1 ,we shall surely die1 because

and named him ,samson3  and the child   
grew1          and ,yahweh blessed him4 
#jac3jbe ,the ,spirit of ,yahweh began  
to move him in ,mahaneh ,dan1

,samson went down to ,timnah1 and saw a 
woman in ,timnah of          the        

daughters of the ,philistines4  #jad3jjb
 ,he came up1 and told his father and

seen a woman in ,timnah of the daughters

talked with the woman1 and she pleased  
,samson well4  #jad3jjh ,after a while  
he returned to take her2 and he turned  
aside          to see the carcass of the
 lion3  and behold1 there was a swarm   
of bees in the body of the lion1 and    
honey4  #jad3jji ,he took it into his   
hands1 and went on1 eating as he went2  
and he came to his father and mother1   
and gave to them1          and they ate3
  but he didn't tell them that he had   
taken          the honey out of the body

 down to the woman3  and ,samson made   
there a feast2          for so used the 
young men to do4  #jad3jaa ,it happened1
 when they saw him1 that they brought   
thirty          companions to be with

,let me now put forth a riddle to you3  

if you can declare it to me within the  
seven days of the feast1          and   
find it out1 then ,i will give you      
thirty linen garments          and      
thirty changes of clothing2  #jad3jac   
but if you can't declare it to me1 then 
shall you give me          thirty linen 
garments and thirty changes of clothing4
          ,they said to him1 ,put forth 
your riddle1 that we may hear it4

 he had set the brands on fire1 he let  
them go into          the standing grain

 of the ,philistines1 and burnt up both 
the shocks and the standing grain1 and

the ,philistines said1 ,who has done    
this8  ,they said1 ,samson1          the
 son-in-law of the ,timnite1 because he 
has taken his wife1          and given  
her to his companion4  ,the ,philistines
 came up1          and burnt her and her

said to them1 ,if you do after this     
manner1 surely ,i          will be      
avenged of you1 and after that ,i will

 thigh with a great slaughter3          
and he went down and lived in the cleft

the ,philistines went up1 and encamped  
in ,judah1 and spread

of ,judah said1 ,why are you come up    
against us8          ,they said1 ,to

 father said1 ,please strengthen your   

heart          and stay until the day

him1 ,we are passing from ,bethlehem    
,judah to the farther          side of  
the hill country of ,ephraim2 from there
 am ,i1 and ,i went          to         
,bethlehem ,judah3  and ,i am now going 
to the house of ,yahweh2          and   
there is no man who takes me into his   
house4  #jai3jai ,yet there is both     
straw and provender for our donkeys2    
and there is bread and wine also for me1
 and for your handmaid1          and for
 the young man who is with your         
servants3          there is no want of  
anything4  #jai3jbj ,the old man said1  
,peace be to you2 howsoever let all your
 wants          lie on me2 only don't   
lodge in the street4  #jai3jba ,so he   
brought him into his house1 and gave the
 donkeys fodder2          and they      
washed their feet1 and ate and drink4   
#jai3jbb ,as they were making their     
hearts merry1 behold1 the men of        
the city1 certain base fellows1 beset   
the house round about1          beating 
at the door2 and they spoke to the      

master of the house1          the old   
man1 saying1 ,bring forth the man who   
came into your house1          that we  
may know him4  #jai3jbc ,the man1 the   
master of the house1 went out to them1  
and said          to them1 ,no1 my      
brothers1 please don't act so wickedly2 
seeing that this man is come into my    
house1 don't do this folly4  #jai3jbd   
,behold1 here is my daughter a virgin1  
and his concubine2          them ,i will
 bring out now1 and humble you them1 and
 do          with them what seems good  
to you3  but to this man don't          
do any such folly4  #jai3jbe ,but the   
men wouldn't listen to him3  so the man 
laid hold          on his concubine1 and
 brought her forth to them2 and they    
knew her1 and abused her all the night  
until the morning3          and when the
 day began to spring1 they let her go4  
#jai3jbf ,then came the woman in the    
dawning of the day1 and fell            
down at the door of the man's house     
where her lord was1          until it   

was light4  #jai3jbg ,her lord rose up  
in the morning1 and opened the doors of 
the house1 and went out to go his way2  
and behold1 the woman          his      
concubine was fallen down at the door of
 the house1          with her hands on  
the threshold4  #jai3jbh ,he said to    
her1 ,up1 and let us be going2 but none 
answered3          then he took her up  
on the donkey2 and the man rose up1     
and got him to his place4  #jai3jbi     
,when he was come into his house1 he    
took a knife1 and laid hold on          
his concubine1 and divided her1 limb by 
limb1 into twelve pieces1          and  
sent her throughout all the borders of  
,israel4  #jai3jcj ,it was so1 that all 
who saw it said1 ,there was no such deed
          done nor seen from the day    
that the children of ,israel came       
up out of the land of ,egypt to this    
day3  consider it1          take        
counsel1 and speak4  #jbj3jja ,then all 
the children of ,israel went out1 and   
the congregation          was assembled 

as one man1 from ,dan even to           
,beersheba1          with the land of   
,gilead1 to ,yahweh at ,mizpah4         
#jbj3jjb ,the chiefs of all the people1 
even of all the tribes of ,israel1      
presented themselves in the assembly of 
the people of ,god1          four       
hundred thousand footmen who drew sword4
  #jbj3jjc 7,now the children of        
,benjamin heard that the children of    
,israel          had gone up to         
,mizpah47  ,the children of ,israel     
said1 ,tell us1          how was this   
wickedness brought to pass8  #jbj3jjd   
,the ,levite1 the husband of the woman  
who was murdered1          answered1 ,i 
came into ,gibeah that belongs to       
,benjamin1 ,i and          my concubine1
 to lodge4  #jbj3jje ,the men of ,gibeah
 rose against me1 and beset the house   
round about me by night2 me they thought
 to have slain1          and my         
concubine they forced1 and she is dead4 
#jbj3jjf ,i took my concubine1 and cut  
her in pieces1 and sent her             

throughout all the country of the       
inheritance of ,israel2          for    
they have committed lewdness and folly  
in ,israel4  #jbj3jjg ,behold1 you      
children of ,israel1 all of you1 give   
here your          advice and counsel4  
#jbj3jjh ,all the people arose as one   
man1 saying1 ,we will not any of us     
go to his tent1 neither will we any of  
us turn to his house4  #jbj3jji ,but now
 this is the thing which we will do to  
,gibeah3          we will go up against 
it by lot2  #jbj3jaj and we will take   
ten men of one hundred throughout all   
the tribes of ,israel1 and one hundred  
of one thousand1          and a thousand
 out of ten thousand1 to get food for   
the people1          that they may do1  
when they come to ,gibeah of ,benjamin1 
according to all the folly that they    
have worked in ,israel4  #jbj3jaa ,so   
all the men of ,israel were gathered    
against the city1          knit together
 as one man4  #jbj3jab ,the tribes of   
,israel sent men through all the tribe  

of ,benjamin1          saying1 ,what    
wickedness is this that is happen among 
you8  #jbj3jac ,now therefore deliver up
 the men1 the base fellows1 who are in  
,gibeah1          that we may put them  
to death1 and put away evil from        
,israel4          ,but ,benjamin would  
not listen to the voice of their        
brothers          the children of       
,israel4  #jbj3jad ,the children of     
,benjamin gathered themselves together  
out of the cities to ,gibeah1 to go out 
to battle against          the children 
of ,israel4  #jbj3jae ,the children of  
,benjamin were numbered on that day out 
of the cities twenty-six thousand men   
who drew the sword1          besides the
 inhabitants of ,gibeah1 who were       
numbered seven          hundred chosen  
men4  #jbj3jaf ,among all this people   
there were seven hundred chosen         
men left-handed2 everyone could sling   
stones at a hair-breadth1          and  
not miss4  #jbj3jag ,the men of ,israel1
 besides ,benjamin1 were numbered four  

hundred          thousand men who drew  
sword3  all these were men of war4      
#jbj3jah ,the children of ,israel arose1
 and went up to ,bethel1 and asked      
counsel of ,god2 and they said1 ,who    
shall go up for us first          to    
battle against the children of          
,benjamin8  ,yahweh said1               
,judah shall go up first4  #jbj3jai ,the
 children of ,israel rose up in the     
morning1          and encamped against  
,gibeah4  #jbj3jbj ,the men of ,israel  
went out to battle against ,benjamin2   
and the men of ,israel set the battle in
 array against          them at ,gibeah4
  #jbj3jba ,the children of ,benjamin   
came forth out of ,gibeah1          and 
destroyed down to the ground of the     
,israelites on that day                 
,twenty-two thousand men4  #jbj3jbb ,the
 people1 the men of ,israel1 encouraged 
themselves1          and set the battle 
again in array in the place where they  
set themselves in array the first day4  
#jbj3jbc ,the children of ,israel went  

up and wept before ,yahweh until even2  
and they asked of ,yahweh1 saying1      
,shall ,i again draw near          to   
battle against the children of ,benjamin
 my brother8          ,yahweh said1 ,go 
up against him4  #jbj3jbd ,the children 
of ,israel came near against the        
children of ,benjamin          the      
second day4  #jbj3jbe ,benjamin went    
forth against them out of ,gibeah the   
second day1          and destroyed down 
to the ground of the children of ,israel
          again eighteen thousand men2  
all these drew the sword4  #jbj3jbf     
,then all the children of ,israel1 and  
all the people1 went up1          and   
came to ,bethel1 and wept1 and sat there
 before ,yahweh1          and fasted    
that day until even2 and they offered   
burnt          offerings and peace      
offerings before ,yahweh4  #jbj3jbg ,the
 children of ,israel asked of ,yahweh   
7for the ark of the covenant          of
 ,god was there in those days1  #jbj3jbh
 and ,phinehas1 the son of ,eleazar1 the

 son of ,aaron1 stood before          it
 in those days71 saying1 ,shall ,i yet  
again go out to battle          against 
the children of ,benjamin my brother1 or
 shall ,i cease8          ,yahweh said1 
,go up2 for tomorrow ,i will deliver him
          into your hand4  #jbj3jbi     
,israel set ambushes all around ,gibeah4
  #jbj3jcj ,the children of ,israel went
 up against the children of ,benjamin   
on the third day1 and set themselves in 
array against ,gibeah1          as at   
other times4  #jbj3jca ,the children of 
,benjamin went out against the people1  
and were drawn away from the city2 and  
they began to strike          and kill  
of the people1 as at other times1 in the
 highways1          of which one goes up
 to ,bethel1 and the other to ,gibeah1  
in the field1 about thirty men of       
,israel4  #jbj3jcb ,the children of     
,benjamin said1 ,they are struck down   
before us1          as at the first4    
,but the children of ,israel said1 ,let 
us flee1          and draw them away    

from the city to the highways4  #jbj3jcc
 ,all the men of ,israel rose up out of 
their place1 and set          themselves
 in array at ,baal ,tamar3  and the     
ambushers of ,israel          broke     
forth out of their place1 even out of   
,maareh ,geba4  #jbj3jcd ,there came    
over against ,gibeah ten thousand chosen
 men out          of all ,israel1 and   
the battle was sore2 but they didn't    
know          that evil was close on    
them4  #jbj3jce ,yahweh struck ,benjamin
 before ,israel2 and the children of    
,israel          destroyed of ,benjamin 
that day twenty-five thousand one       
hundred men3          all these drew the
 sword4  #jbj3jcf ,so the children of   
,benjamin saw that they were struck2    
for the men of ,israel gave place to    
,benjamin1 because they          trusted
 the ambushers whom they had set against
 ,gibeah4  #jbj3jcg ,the ambushers      
hurried1 and rushed on ,gibeah2 and the 
ambushers          drew themselves      
along1 and struck all the city with the 

edge          of the sword4  #jbj3jch   
,now the appointed sign between the men 
of ,israel and the ambushers            
was that they should make a great cloud 
of smoke rise up          out of the    
city4  #jbj3jci ,the men of ,israel     
turned in the battle1 and ,benjamin     
began          to strike and kill of the
 men of ,israel about thirty persons2   
for they said1 ,surely they are struck  
down before us1          as in the first
 battle4  #jbj3jdj ,but when the cloud  
began to arise up out of the city in a  
pillar          of smoke1 the           
,benjamites looked behind them2 and     
behold1          the whole of the city  
went up in smoke to the sky4  #jbj3jda  
,the men of ,israel turned1 and the men 
of ,benjamin were dismayed2          for
 they saw that evil had come on them4   
#jbj3jdb ,therefore they turned their   
backs before the men of ,israel         
to the way of the wilderness2 but the   
battle followed hard          after     
them2 and those who came out of the     

cities destroyed          them in the   
midst of it4  #jbj3jdc ,they enclosed   
the ,benjamites round about1 and chased 
them1          and trod them down at    
their resting place1 as far as over     
against ,gibeah toward the sunrise4     
#jbj3jdd ,there fell of ,benjamin       
eighteen thousand men2 all these were   
men of valor4  #jbj3jde ,they turned and
 fled toward the wilderness to the rock 
of ,rimmon3          and they gleaned of
 them in the highways five thousand men1
          and followed hard after them  
to ,gidom1 and struck of them           
two thousand men4  #jbj3jdf ,so that all
 who fell that day of ,benjamin were    
twenty-five          thousand men who   
drew the sword2 all these were men of   
valor4  #jbj3jdg ,but six hundred men   
turned and fled toward the wilderness to
          the rock of ,rimmon1 and abode
 in the rock of ,rimmon four months4    
#jbj3jdh ,the men of ,israel turned     
again on the children of ,benjamin1     
and struck them with the edge of the    

sword1 both the          entire city1   
and the livestock1 and all that they    
found3          moreover all the cities 
which they found they set on fire4      
#jba3jja ,now the men of ,israel had    
sworn in ,mizpah1 saying1 ,there shall  
not any of us give his daughter to      
,benjamin as wife4  #jba3jjb ,the people
 came to ,bethel1 and sat there until   
evening before ,god1          and lifted
 up their voices1 and wept sore4        
#jba3jjc ,they said1 ,yahweh1 the ,god  
of ,israel1 why has this happened in    
,israel1          that there should be  
today one tribe lacking in ,israel8     
#jba3jjd ,it happened on the next day   
that the people rose early1          and
 built there an altar1 and offered burnt
 offerings          and peace offerings4
  #jba3jje ,the children of ,israel     
said1 ,who is there among all the tribes
          of ,israel who didn't come up 
in the assembly to ,yahweh8  ,for they  
had made a great oath concerning him who
 didn't come up          to ,yahweh to  

,mizpah1 saying1 ,he shall surely be put
 to death4  #jba3jjf ,the children of   
,israel grieved for ,benjamin their     
brother1          and said1 ,there is   
one tribe cut off from ,israel this day4
  #jba3jjg ,how shall we do for wives   
for those who remain1 seeing we         
have sworn by ,yahweh that we will not  
give them of our          daughters to  
wives8  #jba3jjh ,they said1 ,what one  
is there of the tribes of ,israel who   
didn't          come up to ,yahweh to   
,mizpah8  ,behold1 there came none      
to the camp from ,jabesh ,gilead to the 
assembly4  #jba3jji ,for when the people
 were numbered1 behold1 there were none 
of the inhabitants of ,jabesh ,gilead   
there4  #jba3jaj ,the congregation sent 
there twelve thousand men of the most   
valiant1          and commanded them1   
saying1 ,go and strike the inhabitants  
of ,jabesh ,gilead with the edge of the 
sword1 with the women          and the  
little ones4  #jba3jaa ,this is the     
thing that you shall do3  you shall     

utterly destroy          every male1 and
 every woman who has lain by man4       
#jba3jab ,they found among the          
inhabitants of ,jabesh ,gilead four     
hundred          young virgins1 who had 
not known man by lying with him2        
and they brought them to the camp to    
,shiloh1 which is in          the land  
of ,canaan4  #jba3jac ,the whole        
congregation sent and spoke to the      
children of ,benjamin          who were 
in the rock of ,rimmon1 and proclaimed  
peace to them4  #jba3jad ,benjamin      
returned at that time2 and they gave    
them the women          whom they had   
saved alive of the women of ,jabesh     
,gilead3          and yet so they       
weren't enough for them4  #jba3jae ,the 
people grieved for ,benjamin1 because   
that ,yahweh had made          a breach 
in the tribes of ,israel4  #jba3jaf     
,then the elders of the congregation    
said1 ,how shall we do for              
wives for those who remain1 seeing the  
women are destroyed          out of     

,benjamin8  #jba3jag ,they said1 ,there 
must be an inheritance for those who are
 escaped          of ,benjamin1 that a  
tribe not be blotted out from ,israel4  
#jba3jah ,however we may not give them  
wives of our daughters1          for the
 children of ,israel had sworn1 saying1 
,cursed be          he who gives a wife 
to ,benjamin4  #jba3jai ,they said1     
,behold1 there is a feast of ,yahweh    
from year to year          in ,shiloh1  
which is on the north of ,bethel1 on the
 east          side of the highway that 
goes up from ,bethel to ,shechem1       
and on the south of ,lebonah4  #jba3jbj 
,they commanded the children of         
,benjamin1 saying1 ,go and lie          
in wait in the vineyards1  #jba3jba and 
see1 and behold1 if the daughters of    
,shiloh come out          to dance in   
the dances1 then come you out of the    
vineyards1          and catch you every 
man his wife of the daughters of        
,shiloh1          and go to the land of 
,benjamin4  #jba3jbb ,it shall be1 when 

their fathers or their brothers come to 
complain          to us1 that we will   
say to them1 ,grant them graciously to  
us1          because we didn't take for 
each man his wife in battle1            
neither did you give them to them1 else 
would you now be guilty4  #jba3jbc ,the 
children of ,benjamin did so1 and took  
them wives1 according to          their 
number1 of those who danced1 whom they  
carried off3          and they went and 
returned to their inheritance1 and built
          the cities1 and lived in them4
  #jba3jbd ,the children of ,israel     
departed there at that time1 every man  
to his tribe and to his family1 and they
 went out from there          every man 
to his inheritance4  #jba3jbe ,in those 
days there was no king in ,israel3      
every man did          that which was   
right in his own eyes4
