,this e,book was produced by ,david ,widger with the help of ,derek ,andrew's text from ,january #aiib and the work of ,bryan ,taylor in ,november #bjjb4 ,book #cb ,jonah #cb3jja3jja ,now the word of the ,,lord came unto ,jonah the son of ,amittai1 saying1 #cb3jja3jjb ,arise1 go to ,nineveh1 that great city1 and cry against it2 for their wickedness is come up before me4 #cb3jja3jjc ,but ,jonah rose up to flee unto ,tarshish from the presence of the ,,lord1 and went down to ,joppa2 and he found a ship going to ,tarshish3 so he paid the fare thereof1 and went down into it1 to go with them unto ,tarshish from the presence of the ,,lord4 #cb3jja3jjd ,but the ,,lord sent out a great wind into the sea1 and there was a mighty tempest in the sea1 so that the ship was like to be broken4 #cb3jja3jje ,then the mariners were afraid1 and cried every man unto his god1 and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea1 to lighten it of them4 ,but ,jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship2 and he lay1 and was fast asleep4 #cb3jja3jjf ,so the shipmaster came to him1 and said unto him1 ,what meanest thou1 ,o sleeper8 arise1 call upon thy ,god1 if so be that ,god will think upon us1 that we perish not4 #cb3jja3jjg ,and they said every one to his fellow1 ,come1 and let us cast lots1 that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us4 ,so they cast lots1 and the lot fell upon ,jonah4 #cb3jja3jjh ,then said they unto him1 ,tell us1 we pray thee1 for whose cause this evil is upon us2 ,what is thine occupation8 and whence comest thou8 what is thy country8 and of what people art thou8 #cb3jja3jji ,and he said unto them1 ,i am an ,hebrew2 and ,i fear the ,,lord1 the ,god of heaven1 which hath made the sea and the dry land4 #cb3jja3jaj ,then were the men exceedingly afraid1 and said unto him4 ,why hast thou done this8 ,for the men knew that he fled from the presence of the ,,lord1 because he had told them4 #cb3jja3jaa ,then said they unto him1 ,what shall we do unto thee1 that the sea may be calm unto us8 for the sea wrought1 and was tempestuous4 #cb3jja3jab ,and he said unto them1 ,take me up1 and cast me forth into the sea2 so shall the sea be calm unto you3 for ,i know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you4 #cb3jja3jac ,nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land2 but they could not3 for the sea wrought1 and was tempestuous against them4 #cb3jja3jad ,wherefore they cried unto the ,,lord1 and said1 ,we beseech thee1 ,o ,,lord1 we beseech thee1 let us not perish for this man's life1 and lay not upon us innocent blood3 for thou1 ,o ,,lord1 hast done as it pleased thee4 #cb3jja3jae ,so they took up ,jonah1 and cast him forth into the sea3 and the sea ceased from her raging4 #cb3jja3jaf ,then the men feared the ,,lord exceedingly1 and offered a sacrifice unto the ,,lord1 and made vows4 #cb3jja3jag ,now the ,,lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up ,jonah4 ,and ,jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights4 #cb3jjb3jja ,then ,jonah prayed unto the ,,lord his ,god out of the fish's belly1 #cb3jjb3jjb ,and said1 ,i cried by reason of mine affliction unto the ,,lord1 and he heard me2 out of the belly of hell cried ,i1 and thou heardest my voice4 #cb3jjb3jjc ,for thou hadst cast me into the deep1 in the midst of the seas2 and the floods compassed me about3 all thy billows and thy waves passed over me4 #cb3jjb3jjd ,then ,i said1 ,i am cast out of thy sight2 yet ,i will look again toward thy holy temple4 #cb3jjb3jje ,the waters compassed me about1 even to the soul3 the depth closed me round about1 the weeds were wrapped about my head4 #cb3jjb3jjf ,i went down to the bottoms of the mountains2 the earth with her bars was about me for ever3 yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption1 ,o ,,lord my ,god4 #cb3jjb3jjg ,when my soul fainted within me ,i remembered the ,,lord3 and my prayer came in unto thee1 into thine holy temple4 #cb3jjb3jjh ,they that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy4 #cb3jjb3jji ,but ,i will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving2 ,i will pay that that ,i have vowed4 ,salvation is of the ,,lord4 #cb3jjb3jaj ,and the ,,lord spake unto the fish1 and it vomited out ,jonah upon the dry land4 #cb3jjc3jja ,and the word of the ,,lord came unto ,jonah the second time1 saying1 #cb3jjc3jjb ,arise1 go unto ,nineveh1 that great city1 and preach unto it the preaching that ,i bid thee4 #cb3jjc3jjc ,so ,jonah arose1 and went unto ,nineveh1 according to the word of the ,,lord4 ,now ,nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey4 #cb3jjc3jjd ,and ,jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey1 and he cried1 and said1 ,yet forty days1 and ,nineveh shall be overthrown4 #cb3jjc3jje ,so the people of ,nineveh believed ,god1 and proclaimed a fast1 and put on sackcloth1 from the greatest of them even to the least of them4 #cb3jjc3jjf ,for word came unto the king of ,nineveh1 and he arose from his throne1 and he laid his robe from him1 and covered him with sackcloth1 and sat in ashes4 #cb3jjc3jjg ,and he caused it to be proclaimed and published through ,nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles1 saying1 ,let neither man nor beast1 herd nor flock1 taste any thing3 let them not feed1 nor drink water3 #cb3jjc3jjh ,but let man and beast be covered with sackcloth1 and cry mightily unto ,god3 yea1 let them turn every one from his evil way1 and from the violence that is in their hands4 #cb3jjc3jji ,who can tell if ,god will turn and repent1 and turn away from his fierce anger1 that we perish not8 #cb3jjc3jaj ,and ,god saw their works1 that they turned from their evil way2 and ,god repented of the evil1 that he had said that he would do unto them2 and he did it not4 #cb3jjd3jja ,but it displeased ,jonah exceedingly1 and he was very angry4 #cb3jjd3jjb ,and he prayed unto the ,,lord1 and said1 ,i pray thee1 ,o ,,lord1 was not this my saying1 when ,i was yet in my country8 ,therefore ,i fled before unto ,tarshish3 for ,i knew that thou art a gracious ,god1 and merciful1 slow to anger1 and of great kindness1 and repentest thee of the evil4 #cb3jjd3jjc ,therefore now1 ,o ,,lord1 take1 ,i beseech thee1 my life from me2 for it is better for me to die than to live4 #cb3jjd3jjd ,then said the ,,lord1 ,doest thou well to be angry8 #cb3jjd3jje ,so ,jonah went out of the city1 and sat on the east side of the city1 and there made him a booth1 and sat under it in the shadow1 till he might see what would become of the city4 #cb3jjd3jjf ,and the ,,lord ,god prepared a gourd1 and made it to come up over ,jonah1 that it might be a shadow over his head1 to deliver him from his grief4 ,so ,jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd4 #cb3jjd3jjg ,but ,god prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day1 and it smote the gourd that it withered4 #cb3jjd3jjh ,and it came to pass1 when the sun did arise1 that ,god prepared a vehement east wind2 and the sun beat upon the head of ,jonah1 that he fainted1 and wished in himself to die1 and said1 ,it is better for me to die than to live4 #cb3jjd3jji ,and ,god said to ,jonah1 ,doest thou well to be angry for the gourd8 ,and he said1 ,i do well to be angry1 even unto death4 #cb3jjd3jaj ,then said the ,,lord1 ,thou hast had pity on the gourd1 for the which thou hast not laboured1 neither madest it grow2 which came up in a night1 and perished in a night3 #cb3jjd3jaa ,and should not ,i spare ,nineveh1 that great city1 wherein are more then sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand2 and also much cattle8
