,this e,book was produced by ,david ,widger with the help of ,derek ,andrew's text from ,january #aiib and the work of ,bryan ,taylor in ,november #bjjb4 ,book #ad #b ,chronicles #ad3jja3jja ,and ,solomon the son of ,david was strengthened in his kingdom1 and the ,,lord his ,god was with him1 and magnified him exceedingly4 #ad3jja3jjb ,then ,solomon spake unto all ,israel1 to the captains of thousands and of hundreds1 and to the judges1 and to every governor in all ,israel1 the chief of the fathers4 #ad3jja3jjc ,so ,solomon1 and all the congregation with him1 went to the high place that was at ,gibeon2 for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of ,god1 which ,moses the servant of the ,,lord had made in the wilderness4 #ad3jja3jjd ,but the ark of ,god had ,david brought up from ,kirjathjearim to the place which ,david had prepared for it3 for he had pitched a tent for it at ,jerusalem4 #ad3jja3jje ,moreover the brasen altar1 that ,bezaleel the son of ,uri1 the son of ,hur1 had made1 he put before the tabernacle of the ,,lord3 and ,solomon and the congregation sought unto it4 #ad3jja3jjf ,and ,solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the ,,lord1 which was at the tabernacle of the congregation1 and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it4 #ad3jja3jjg ,in that night did ,god appear unto ,solomon1 and said unto him1 ,ask what ,i shall give thee4 #ad3jja3jjh ,and ,solomon said unto ,god1 ,thou hast shewed great mercy unto ,david my father1 and hast made me to reign in his stead4 #ad3jja3jji ,now1 ,o ,,lord ,god1 let thy promise unto ,david my father be established3 for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude4 #ad3jja3jaj ,give me now wisdom and knowledge1 that ,i may go out and come in before this people3 for who can judge this thy people1 that is so great8 #ad3jja3jaa ,and ,god said to ,solomon1 ,because this was in thine heart1 and thou hast not asked riches1 wealth1 or honour1 nor the life of thine enemies1 neither yet hast asked long life2 but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself1 that thou mayest judge my people1 over whom ,i have made thee king3 #ad3jja3jab ,wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee2 and ,i will give thee riches1 and wealth1 and honour1 such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee1 neither shall there any after thee have the like4 #ad3jja3jac ,then ,solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at ,gibeon to ,jerusalem1 from before the tabernacle of the congregation1 and reigned over ,israel4 #ad3jja3jad ,and ,solomon gathered chariots and horsemen3 and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots1 and twelve thousand horsemen1 which he placed in the chariot cities1 and with the king at ,jerusalem4 #ad3jja3jae ,and the king made silver and gold at ,jerusalem as plenteous as stones1 and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance4 #ad3jja3jaf ,and ,solomon had horses brought out of ,egypt1 and linen yarn3 the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price4 #ad3jja3jag ,and they fetched up1 and brought forth out of ,egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver1 and an horse for an hundred and fifty3 and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the ,hittites1 and for the kings of ,syria1 by their means4 #ad3jjb3jja ,and ,solomon determined to build an house for the name of the ,,lord1 and an house for his kingdom4 #ad3jjb3jjb ,and ,solomon told out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens1 and fourscore thousand to hew in the mountain1 and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them4 #ad3jjb3jjc ,and ,solomon sent to ,huram the king of ,tyre1 saying1 ,as thou didst deal with ,david my father1 and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein1 even so deal with me4 #ad3jjb3jjd ,behold1 ,i build an house to the name of the ,,lord my ,god1 to dedicate it to him1 and to burn before him sweet incense1 and for the continual shewbread1 and for the burnt offerings morning and evening1 on the sabbaths1 and on the new moons1 and on the solemn feasts of the ,,lord our ,god4 ,this is an ordinance for ever to ,israel4 #ad3jjb3jje ,and the house which ,i build is great3 for great is our ,god above all gods4 #ad3jjb3jjf ,but who is able to build him an house1 seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him8 who am ,i then1 that ,i should build him an house1 save only to burn sacrifice before him8 #ad3jjb3jjg ,send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold1 and in silver1 and in brass1 and in iron1 and in purple1 and crimson1 and blue1 and that can skill to grave with the cunning men that are with me in ,judah and in ,jerusalem1 whom ,david my father did provide4 #ad3jjb3jjh ,send me also cedar trees1 fir trees1 and algum trees1 out of ,lebanon3 for ,i know that thy servants can skill to cut timber in ,lebanon2 and1 behold1 my servants shall be with thy servants1 #ad3jjb3jji ,even to prepare me timber in abundance3 for the house which ,i am about to build shall be wonderful great4 #ad3jjb3jaj ,and1 behold1 ,i will give to thy servants1 the hewers that cut timber1 twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat1 and twenty thousand measures of barley1 and twenty thousand baths of wine1 and twenty thousand baths of oil4 #ad3jjb3jaa ,then ,huram the king of ,tyre answered in writing1 which he sent to ,solomon1 ,because the ,,lord hath loved his people1 he hath made thee king over them4 #ad3jjb3jab ,huram said moreover1 ,blessed be the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 that made heaven and earth1 who hath given to ,david the king a wise son1 endued with prudence and understanding1 that might build an house for the ,,lord1 and an house for his kingdom4 #ad3jjb3jac ,and now ,i have sent a cunning man1 endued with understanding1 of ,huram my father's1 #ad3jjb3jad ,the son of a woman of the daughters of ,dan1 and his father was a man of ,tyre1 skilful to work in gold1 and in silver1 in brass1 in iron1 in stone1 and in timber1 in purple1 in blue1 and in fine linen1 and in crimson2 also to grave any manner of graving1 and to find out every device which shall be put to him1 with thy cunning men1 and with the cunning men of my lord ,david thy father4 #ad3jjb3jae ,now therefore the wheat1 and the barley1 the oil1 and the wine1 which my lord hath spoken of1 let him send unto his servants3 #ad3jjb3jaf ,and we will cut wood out of ,lebanon1 as much as thou shalt need3 and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to ,joppa2 and thou shalt carry it up to ,jerusalem4 #ad3jjb3jag ,and ,solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of ,israel1 after the numbering wherewith ,david his father had numbered them2 and they were found an hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred4 #ad3jjb3jah ,and he set threescore and ten thousand of them to be bearers of burdens1 and fourscore thousand to be hewers in the mountain1 and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people a work4 #ad3jjc3jja ,then ,solomon began to build the house of the ,,lord at ,jerusalem in mount ,moriah1 where the ,lord appeared unto ,david his father1 in the place that ,david had prepared in the threshingfloor of ,ornan the ,jebusite4 #ad3jjc3jjb ,and he began to build in the second day of the second month1 in the fourth year of his reign4 #ad3jjc3jjc ,now these are the things wherein ,solomon was instructed for the building of the house of ,god4 ,the length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits1 and the breadth twenty cubits4 #ad3jjc3jjd ,and the porch that was in the front of the house1 the length of it was according to the breadth of the house1 twenty cubits1 and the height was an hundred and twenty3 and he overlaid it within with pure gold4 #ad3jjc3jje ,and the greater house he cieled with fir tree1 which he overlaid with fine gold1 and set thereon palm trees and chains4 #ad3jjc3jjf ,and he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty3 and the gold was gold of ,parvaim4 #ad3jjc3jjg ,he overlaid also the house1 the beams1 the posts1 and the walls thereof1 and the doors thereof1 with gold2 and graved cherubims on the walls4 #ad3jjc3jjh ,and he made the most holy house1 the length whereof was according to the breadth of the house1 twenty cubits1 and the breadth thereof twenty cubits3 and he overlaid it with fine gold1 amounting to six hundred talents4 #ad3jjc3jji ,and the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold4 ,and he overlaid the upper chambers with gold4 #ad3jjc3jaj ,and in the most holy house he made two cherubims of image work1 and overlaid them with gold4 #ad3jjc3jaa ,and the wings of the cherubims were twenty cubits long3 one wing of the one cherub was five cubits1 reaching to the wall of the house3 and the other wing was likewise five cubits1 reaching to the wing of the other cherub4 #ad3jjc3jab ,and one wing of the other cherub was five cubits1 reaching to the wall of the house3 and the other wing was five cubits also1 joining to the wing of the other cherub4 #ad3jjc3jac ,the wings of these cherubims spread themselves forth twenty cubits3 and they stood on their feet1 and their faces were inward4 #ad3jjc3jad ,and he made the vail of blue1 and purple1 and crimson1 and fine linen1 and wrought cherubims thereon4 #ad3jjc3jae ,also he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high1 and the chapiter that was on the top of each of them was five cubits4 #ad3jjc3jaf ,and he made chains1 as in the oracle1 and put them on the heads of the pillars2 and made an hundred pomegranates1 and put them on the chains4 #ad3jjc3jag ,and he reared up the pillars before the temple1 one on the right hand1 and the other on the left2 and called the name of that on the right hand ,jachin1 and the name of that on the left ,boaz4 #ad3jjd3jja ,moreover he made an altar of brass1 twenty cubits the length thereof1 and twenty cubits the breadth thereof1 and ten cubits the height thereof4 #ad3jjd3jjb ,also he made a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim1 round in compass1 and five cubits the height thereof2 and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about4 #ad3jjd3jjc ,and under it was the similitude of oxen1 which did compass it round about3 ten in a cubit1 compassing the sea round about4 ,two rows of oxen were cast1 when it was cast4 #ad3jjd3jjd ,it stood upon twelve oxen1 three looking toward the north1 and three looking toward the west1 and three looking toward the south1 and three looking toward the east3 and the sea was set above upon them1 and all their hinder parts were inward4 #ad3jjd3jje ,and the thickness of it was an handbreadth1 and the brim of it like the work of the brim of a cup1 with flowers of lilies2 and it received and held three thousand baths4 #ad3jjd3jjf ,he made also ten lavers1 and put five on the right hand1 and five on the left1 to wash in them3 such things as they offered for the burnt offering they washed in them2 but the sea was for the priests to wash in4 #ad3jjd3jjg ,and he made ten candlesticks of gold according to their form1 and set them in the temple1 five on the right hand1 and five on the left4 #ad3jjd3jjh ,he made also ten tables1 and placed them in the temple1 five on the right side1 and five on the left4 ,and he made an hundred basons of gold4 #ad3jjd3jji ,furthermore he made the court of the priests1 and the great court1 and doors for the court1 and overlaid the doors of them with brass4 #ad3jjd3jaj ,and he set the sea on the right side of the east end1 over against the south4 #ad3jjd3jaa ,and ,huram made the pots1 and the shovels1 and the basons4 ,and ,huram finished the work that he was to make for king ,solomon for the house of ,god2 #ad3jjd3jab ,to wit1 the two pillars1 and the pommels1 and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars1 and the two wreaths to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were on the top of the pillars2 #ad3jjd3jac ,and four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths2 two rows of pomegranates on each wreath1 to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were upon the pillars4 #ad3jjd3jad ,he made also bases1 and lavers made he upon the bases2 #ad3jjd3jae ,one sea1 and twelve oxen under it4 #ad3jjd3jaf ,the pots also1 and the shovels1 and the fleshhooks1 and all their instruments1 did ,huram his father make to king ,solomon for the house of the ,,lord of bright brass4 #ad3jjd3jag ,in the plain of ,jordan did the king cast them1 in the clay ground between ,succoth and ,zeredathah4 #ad3jjd3jah ,thus ,solomon made all these vessels in great abundance3 for the weight of the brass could not be found out4 #ad3jjd3jai ,and ,solomon made all the vessels that were for the house of ,god1 the golden altar also1 and the tables whereon the shewbread was set2 #ad3jjd3jbj ,moreover the candlesticks with their lamps1 that they should burn after the manner before the oracle1 of pure gold2 #ad3jjd3jba ,and the flowers1 and the lamps1 and the tongs1 made he of gold1 and that perfect gold2 #ad3jjd3jbb ,and the snuffers1 and the basons1 and the spoons1 and the censers1 of pure gold3 and the entry of the house1 the inner doors thereof for the most holy place1 and the doors of the house of the temple1 were of gold4 #ad3jje3jja ,thus all the work that ,solomon made for the house of the ,,lord was finished3 and ,solomon brought in all the things that ,david his father had dedicated2 and the silver1 and the gold1 and all the instruments1 put he among the treasures of the house of ,god4 #ad3jje3jjb ,then ,solomon assembled the elders of ,israel1 and all the heads of the tribes1 the chief of the fathers of the children of ,israel1 unto ,jerusalem1 to bring up the ark of the covenant of the ,,lord out of the city of ,david1 which is ,zion4 #ad3jje3jjc ,wherefore all the men of ,israel assembled themselves unto the king in the feast which was in the seventh month4 #ad3jje3jjd ,and all the elders of ,israel came2 and the ,levites took up the ark4 #ad3jje3jje ,and they brought up the ark1 and the tabernacle of the congregation1 and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle1 these did the priests and the ,levites bring up4 #ad3jje3jjf ,also king ,solomon1 and all the congregation of ,israel that were assembled unto him before the ark1 sacrificed sheep and oxen1 which could not be told nor numbered for multitude4 #ad3jje3jjg ,and the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the ,,lord unto his place1 to the oracle of the house1 into the most holy place1 even under the wings of the cherubims3 #ad3jje3jjh ,for the cherubims spread forth their wings over the place of the ark1 and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above4 #ad3jje3jji ,and they drew out the staves of the ark1 that the ends of the staves were seen from the ark before the oracle2 but they were not seen without4 ,and there it is unto this day4 #ad3jje3jaj ,there was nothing in the ark save the two tables which ,moses put therein at ,horeb1 when the ,,lord made a covenant with the children of ,israel1 when they came out of ,egypt4 #ad3jje3jaa ,and it came to pass1 when the priests were come out of the holy place3 7for all the priests that were present were sanctified1 and did not then wait by course3 #ad3jje3jab ,also the ,levites which were the singers1 all of them of ,asaph1 of ,heman1 of ,jeduthun1 with their sons and their brethren1 being arrayed in white linen1 having cymbals and psalteries and harps1 stood at the east end of the altar1 and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets37 #ad3jje3jac ,it came even to pass1 as the trumpeters and singers were as one1 to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the ,,lord2 and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick1 and praised the ,,lord1 saying1 ,for he is good2 for his mercy endureth for ever3 that then the house was filled with a cloud1 even the house of the ,,lord2 #ad3jje3jad ,so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud3 for the glory of the ,,lord had filled the house of ,god4 #ad3jjf3jja ,then said ,solomon1 ,the ,,lord hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness4 #ad3jjf3jjb ,but ,i have built an house of habitation for thee1 and a place for thy dwelling for ever4 #ad3jjf3jjc ,and the king turned his face1 and blessed the whole congregation of ,israel3 and all the congregation of ,israel stood4 #ad3jjf3jjd ,and he said1 ,blessed be the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father ,david1 saying1 #ad3jjf3jje ,since the day that ,i brought forth my people out of the land of ,egypt ,i chose no city among all the tribes of ,israel to build an house in1 that my name might be there2 neither chose ,i any man to be a ruler over my people ,israel3 #ad3jjf3jjf ,but ,i have chosen ,jerusalem1 that my name might be there2 and have chosen ,david to be over my people ,israel4 #ad3jjf3jjg ,now it was in the heart of ,david my father to build an house for the name of the ,,lord ,god of ,israel4 #ad3jjf3jjh ,but the ,,lord said to ,david my father1 ,forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name1 thou didst well in that it was in thine heart3 #ad3jjf3jji ,notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house2 but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins1 he shall build the house for my name4 #ad3jjf3jaj ,the ,,lord therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken3 for ,i am risen up in the room of ,david my father1 and am set on the throne of ,israel1 as the ,,lord promised1 and have built the house for the name of the ,,lord ,god of ,israel4 #ad3jjf3jaa ,and in it have ,i put the ark1 wherein is the covenant of the ,,lord1 that he made with the children of ,israel4 #ad3jjf3jab ,and he stood before the altar of the ,,lord in the presence of all the congregation of ,israel1 and spread forth his hands3 #ad3jjf3jac ,for ,solomon had made a brasen scaffold of five cubits long1 and five cubits broad1 and three cubits high1 and had set it in the midst of the court3 and upon it he stood1 and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of ,israel1 and spread forth his hands toward heaven4 #ad3jjf3jad ,and said1 ,o ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 there is no ,god like thee in the heaven1 nor in the earth2 which keepest covenant1 and shewest mercy unto thy servants1 that walk before thee with all their hearts3 #ad3jjf3jae ,thou which hast kept with thy servant ,david my father that which thou hast promised him2 and spakest with thy mouth1 and hast fulfilled it with thine hand1 as it is this day4 #ad3jjf3jaf ,now therefore1 ,o ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 keep with thy servant ,david my father that which thou hast promised him1 saying1 ,there shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of ,israel2 yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law1 as thou hast walked before me4 #ad3jjf3jag ,now then1 ,o ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 let thy word be verified1 which thou hast spoken unto thy servant ,david4 #ad3jjf3jah ,but will ,god in very deed dwell with men on the earth8 behold1 heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee2 how much less this house which ,i have built6 #ad3jjf3jai ,have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant1 and to his supplication1 ,o ,,lord my ,god1 to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee3 #ad3jjf3jbj ,that thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night1 upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there2 to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place4 #ad3jjf3jba ,hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant1 and of thy people ,israel1 which they shall make toward this place3 hear thou from thy dwelling place1 even from heaven2 and when thou hearest1 forgive4 #ad3jjf3jbb ,if a man sin against his neighbour1 and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear1 and the oath come before thine altar in this house2 #ad3jjf3jbc ,then hear thou from heaven1 and do1 and judge thy servants1 by requiting the wicked1 by recompensing his way upon his own head2 and by justifying the righteous1 by giving him according to his righteousness4 #ad3jjf3jbd ,and if thy people ,israel be put to the worse before the enemy1 because they have sinned against thee2 and shall return and confess thy name1 and pray and make supplication before thee in this house2 #ad3jjf3jbe ,then hear thou from the heavens1 and forgive the sin of thy people ,israel1 and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers4 #ad3jjf3jbf ,when the heaven is shut up1 and there is no rain1 because they have sinned against thee2 yet if they pray toward this place1 and confess thy name1 and turn from their sin1 when thou dost afflict them2 #ad3jjf3jbg ,then hear thou from heaven1 and forgive the sin of thy servants1 and of thy people ,israel1 when thou hast taught them the good way1 wherein they should walk2 and send rain upon thy land1 which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance4 #ad3jjf3jbh ,if there be dearth in the land1 if there be pestilence1 if there be blasting1 or mildew1 locusts1 or caterpillers2 if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land2 whatsoever sore or whatsoever sickness there be3 #ad3jjf3jbi ,then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man1 or of all thy people ,israel1 when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief1 and shall spread forth his hands in this house3 #ad3jjf3jcj ,then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place1 and forgive1 and render unto every man according unto all his ways1 whose heart thou knowest2 7for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men37 #ad3jjf3jca ,that they may fear thee1 to walk in thy ways1 so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers4 #ad3jjf3jcb ,moreover concerning the stranger1 which is not of thy people ,israel1 but is come from a far country for thy great name's sake1 and thy mighty hand1 and thy stretched out arm2 if they come and pray in this house2 #ad3jjf3jcc ,then hear thou from the heavens1 even from thy dwelling place1 and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for2 that all people of the earth may know thy name1 and fear thee1 as doth thy people ,israel1 and may know that this house which ,i have built is called by thy name4 #ad3jjf3jcd ,if thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them1 and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen1 and the house which ,i have built for thy name2 #ad3jjf3jce ,then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication1 and maintain their cause4 #ad3jjf3jcf ,if they sin against thee1 7for there is no man which sinneth not17 and thou be angry with them1 and deliver them over before their enemies1 and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near2 #ad3jjf3jcg ,yet if they bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive1 and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity1 saying1 ,we have sinned1 we have done amiss1 and have dealt wickedly2 #ad3jjf3jch ,if they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity1 whither they have carried them captives1 and pray toward their land1 which thou gavest unto their fathers1 and toward the city which thou hast chosen1 and toward the house which ,i have built for thy name3 #ad3jjf3jci ,then hear thou from the heavens1 even from thy dwelling place1 their prayer and their supplications1 and maintain their cause1 and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee4 #ad3jjf3jdj ,now1 my ,god1 let1 ,i beseech thee1 thine eyes be open1 and let thine ears be attent unto the prayer that is made in this place4 #ad3jjf3jda ,now therefore arise1 ,o ,,lord ,god1 into thy resting place1 thou1 and the ark of thy strength3 let thy priests1 ,o ,,lord ,god1 be clothed with salvation1 and let thy saints rejoice in goodness4 #ad3jjf3jdb ,o ,,lord ,god1 turn not away the face of thine anointed3 remember the mercies of ,david thy servant4 #ad3jjg3jja ,now when ,solomon had made an end of praying1 the fire came down from heaven1 and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices2 and the glory of the ,,lord filled the house4 #ad3jjg3jjb ,and the priests could not enter into the house of the ,,lord1 because the glory of the ,,lord had filled the ,,lord's house4 #ad3jjg3jjc ,and when all the children of ,israel saw how the fire came down1 and the glory of the ,,lord upon the house1 they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement1 and worshipped1 and praised the ,,lord1 saying1 ,for he is good2 for his mercy endureth for ever4 #ad3jjg3jjd ,then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the ,,lord4 #ad3jjg3jje ,and king ,solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen1 and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep3 so the king and all the people dedicated the house of ,god4 #ad3jjg3jjf ,and the priests waited on their offices3 the ,levites also with instruments of musick of the ,,lord1 which ,david the king had made to praise the ,,lord1 because his mercy endureth for ever1 when ,david praised by their ministry2 and the priests sounded trumpets before them1 and all ,israel stood4 #ad3jjg3jjg ,moreover ,solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the ,,lord3 for there he offered burnt offerings1 and the fat of the peace offerings1 because the brasen altar which ,solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings1 and the meat offerings1 and the fat4 #ad3jjg3jjh ,also at the same time ,solomon kept the feast seven days1 and all ,israel with him1 a very great congregation1 from the entering in of ,hamath unto the river of ,egypt4 #ad3jjg3jji ,and in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly3 for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days1 and the feast seven days4 #ad3jjg3jaj ,and on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents1 glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the ,,lord had shewed unto ,david1 and to ,solomon1 and to ,israel his people4 #ad3jjg3jaa ,thus ,solomon finished the house of the ,,lord1 and the king's house3 and all that came into ,solomon's heart to make in the house of the ,,lord1 and in his own house1 he prosperously effected4 #ad3jjg3jab ,and the ,,lord appeared to ,solomon by night1 and said unto him1 ,i have heard thy prayer1 and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice4 #ad3jjg3jac ,if ,i shut up heaven that there be no rain1 or if ,i command the locusts to devour the land1 or if ,i send pestilence among my people2 #ad3jjg3jad ,if my people1 which are called by my name1 shall humble themselves1 and pray1 and seek my face1 and turn from their wicked ways2 then will ,i hear from heaven1 and will forgive their sin1 and will heal their land4 #ad3jjg3jae ,now mine eyes shall be open1 and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place4 #ad3jjg3jaf ,for now have ,i chosen and sanctified this house1 that my name may be there for ever3 and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually4 #ad3jjg3jag ,and as for thee1 if thou wilt walk before me1 as ,david thy father walked1 and do according to all that ,i have commanded thee1 and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments2 #ad3jjg3jah ,then will ,i stablish the throne of thy kingdom1 according as ,i have covenanted with ,david thy father1 saying1 ,there shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in ,israel4 #ad3jjg3jai ,but if ye turn away1 and forsake my statutes and my commandments1 which ,i have set before you1 and shall go and serve other gods1 and worship them2 #ad3jjg3jbj ,then will ,i pluck them up by the roots out of my land which ,i have given them2 and this house1 which ,i have sanctified for my name1 will ,i cast out of my sight1 and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations4 #ad3jjg3jba ,and this house1 which is high1 shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it2 so that he shall say1 ,why hath the ,,lord done thus unto this land1 and unto this house8 #ad3jjg3jbb ,and it shall be answered1 ,because they forsook the ,,lord ,god of their fathers1 which brought them forth out of the land of ,egypt1 and laid hold on other gods1 and worshipped them1 and served them3 therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them4 #ad3jjh3jja ,and it came to pass at the end of twenty years1 wherein ,solomon had built the house of the ,,lord1 and his own house1 #ad3jjh3jjb ,that the cities which ,huram had restored to ,solomon1 ,solomon built them1 and caused the children of ,israel to dwell there4 #ad3jjh3jjc ,and ,solomon went to ,hamathzobah1 and prevailed against it4 #ad3jjh3jjd ,and he built ,tadmor in the wilderness1 and all the store cities1 which he built in ,hamath4 #ad3jjh3jje ,also he built ,bethhoron the upper1 and ,bethhoron the nether1 fenced cities1 with walls1 gates1 and bars2 #ad3jjh3jjf ,and ,baalath1 and all the store cities that ,solomon had1 and all the chariot cities1 and the cities of the horsemen1 and all that ,solomon desired to build in ,jerusalem1 and in ,lebanon1 and throughout all the land of his dominion4 #ad3jjh3jjg ,as for all the people that were left of the ,hittites1 and the ,amorites1 and the ,perizzites1 and the ,hivites1 and the ,jebusites1 which were not of ,israel1 #ad3jjh3jjh ,but of their children1 who were left after them in the land1 whom the children of ,israel consumed not1 them did ,solomon make to pay tribute until this day4 #ad3jjh3jji ,but of the children of ,israel did ,solomon make no servants for his work2 but they were men of war1 and chief of his captains1 and captains of his chariots and horsemen4 #ad3jjh3jaj ,and these were the chief of king ,solomon's officers1 even two hundred and fifty1 that bare rule over the people4 #ad3jjh3jaa ,and ,solomon brought up the daughter of ,pharaoh out of the city of ,david unto the house that he had built for her3 for he said1 ,my wife shall not dwell in the house of ,david king of ,israel1 because the places are holy1 whereunto the ark of the ,,lord hath come4 #ad3jjh3jab ,then ,solomon offered burnt offerings unto the ,,lord on the altar of the ,,lord1 which he had built before the porch1 #ad3jjh3jac ,even after a certain rate every day1 offering according to the commandment of ,moses1 on the sabbaths1 and on the new moons1 and on the solemn feasts1 three times in the year1 even in the feast of unleavened bread1 and in the feast of weeks1 and in the feast of tabernacles4 #ad3jjh3jad ,and he appointed1 according to the order of ,david his father1 the courses of the priests to their service1 and the ,levites to their charges1 to praise and minister before the priests1 as the duty of every day required3 the porters also by their courses at every gate3 for so had ,david the man of ,god commanded4 #ad3jjh3jae ,and they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and ,levites concerning any matter1 or concerning the treasures4 #ad3jjh3jaf ,now all the work of ,solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the ,,lord1 and until it was finished4 ,so the house of the ,,lord was perfected4 #ad3jjh3jag ,then went ,solomon to ,eziongeber1 and to ,eloth1 at the sea side in the land of ,edom4 #ad3jjh3jah ,and ,huram sent him by the hands of his servants ships1 and servants that had knowledge of the sea2 and they went with the servants of ,solomon to ,ophir1 and took thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold1 and brought them to king ,solomon4 #ad3jji3jja ,and when the queen of ,sheba heard of the fame of ,solomon1 she came to prove ,solomon with hard questions at ,jerusalem1 with a very great company1 and camels that bare spices1 and gold in abundance1 and precious stones3 and when she was come to ,solomon1 she communed with him of all that was in her heart4 #ad3jji3jjb ,and ,solomon told her all her questions3 and there was nothing hid from ,solomon which he told her not4 #ad3jji3jjc ,and when the queen of ,sheba had seen the wisdom of ,solomon1 and the house that he had built1 #ad3jji3jjd ,and the meat of his table1 and the sitting of his servants1 and the attendance of his ministers1 and their apparel2 his cupbearers also1 and their apparel2 and his ascent by which he went up into the house of the ,,lord2 there was no more spirit in her4 #ad3jji3jje ,and she said to the king1 ,it was a true report which ,i heard in mine own land of thine acts1 and of thy wisdom3 #ad3jji3jjf ,howbeit ,i believed not their words1 until ,i came1 and mine eyes had seen it3 and1 behold1 the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me3 for thou exceedest the fame that ,i heard4 #ad3jji3jjg ,happy are thy men1 and happy are these thy servants1 which stand continually before thee1 and hear thy wisdom4 #ad3jji3jjh ,blessed be the ,,lord thy ,god1 which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne1 to be king for the ,,lord thy ,god3 because thy ,god loved ,israel1 to establish them for ever1 therefore made he thee king over them1 to do judgment and justice4 #ad3jji3jji ,and she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold1 and of spices great abundance1 and precious stones3 neither was there any such spice as the queen of ,sheba gave king ,solomon4 #ad3jji3jaj ,and the servants also of ,huram1 and the servants of ,solomon1 which brought gold from ,ophir1 brought algum trees and precious stones4 #ad3jji3jaa ,and the king made of the algum trees terraces to the house of the ,,lord1 and to the king's palace1 and harps and psalteries for singers3 and there were none such seen before in the land of ,judah4 #ad3jji3jab ,and king ,solomon gave to the queen of ,sheba all her desire1 whatsoever she asked1 beside that which she had brought unto the king4 ,so she turned1 and went away to her own land1 she and her servants4 #ad3jji3jac ,now the weight of gold that came to ,solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold2 #ad3jji3jad ,beside that which chapmen and merchants brought4 ,and all the kings of ,arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to ,solomon4 #ad3jji3jae ,and king ,solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold3 six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one target4 #ad3jji3jaf ,and three hundred shields made he of beaten gold3 three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield4 ,and the king put them in the house of the forest of ,lebanon4 #ad3jji3jag ,moreover the king made a great throne of ivory1 and overlaid it with pure gold4 #ad3jji3jah ,and there were six steps to the throne1 with a footstool of gold1 which were fastened to the throne1 and stays on each side of the sitting place1 and two lions standing by the stays3 #ad3jji3jai ,and twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps4 ,there was not the like made in any kingdom4 #ad3jji3jbj ,and all the drinking vessels of king ,solomon were of gold1 and all the vessels of the house of the forest of ,lebanon were of pure gold3 none were of silver2 it was not any thing accounted of in the days of ,solomon4 #ad3jji3jba ,for the king's ships went to ,tarshish with the servants of ,huram3 every three years once came the ships of ,tarshish bringing gold1 and silver1 ivory1 and apes1 and peacocks4 #ad3jji3jbb ,and king ,solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom4 #ad3jji3jbc ,and all the kings of the earth sought the presence of ,solomon1 to hear his wisdom1 that ,god had put in his heart4 #ad3jji3jbd ,and they brought every man his present1 vessels of silver1 and vessels of gold1 and raiment1 harness1 and spices1 horses1 and mules1 a rate year by year4 #ad3jji3jbe ,and ,solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots1 and twelve thousand horsemen2 whom he bestowed in the chariot cities1 and with the king at ,jerusalem4 #ad3jji3jbf ,and he reigned over all the kings from the river even unto the land of the ,philistines1 and to the border of ,egypt4 #ad3jji3jbg ,and the king made silver in ,jerusalem as stones1 and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the low plains in abundance4 #ad3jji3jbh ,and they brought unto ,solomon horses out of ,egypt1 and out of all lands4 #ad3jji3jbi ,now the rest of the acts of ,solomon1 first and last1 are they not written in the book of ,nathan the prophet1 and in the prophecy of ,ahijah the ,shilonite1 and in the visions of ,iddo the seer against ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat8 #ad3jji3jcj ,and ,solomon reigned in ,jerusalem over all ,israel forty years4 #ad3jji3jca ,and ,solomon slept with his fathers1 and he was buried in the city of ,david his father3 and ,rehoboam his son reigned in his stead4 #ad3jaj3jja ,and ,rehoboam went to ,shechem3 for to ,shechem were all ,israel come to make him king4 #ad3jaj3jjb ,and it came to pass1 when ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 who was in ,egypt1 whither he fled from the presence of ,solomon the king1 heard it1 that ,jeroboam returned out of ,egypt4 #ad3jaj3jjc ,and they sent and called him4 ,so ,jeroboam and all ,israel came and spake to ,rehoboam1 saying1 #ad3jaj3jjd ,thy father made our yoke grievous3 now therefore ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy father1 and his heavy yoke that he put upon us1 and we will serve thee4 #ad3jaj3jje ,and he said unto them1 ,come again unto me after three days4 ,and the people departed4 #ad3jaj3jjf ,and king ,rehoboam took counsel with the old men that had stood before ,solomon his father while he yet lived1 saying1 ,what counsel give ye me to return answer to this people8 #ad3jaj3jjg ,and they spake unto him1 saying1 ,if thou be kind to this people1 and please them1 and speak good words to them1 they will be thy servants for ever4 #ad3jaj3jjh ,but he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him1 and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him1 that stood before him4 #ad3jaj3jji ,and he said unto them1 ,what advice give ye that we may return answer to this people1 which have spoken to me1 saying1 ,ease somewhat the yoke that thy father did put upon us8 #ad3jaj3jaj ,and the young men that were brought up with him spake unto him1 saying1 ,thus shalt thou answer the people that spake unto thee1 saying1 ,thy father made our yoke heavy1 but make thou it somewhat lighter for us2 thus shalt thou say unto them1 ,my little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins4 #ad3jaj3jaa ,for whereas my father put a heavy yoke upon you1 ,i will put more to your yoke3 my father chastised you with whips1 but ,i will chastise you with scorpions4 #ad3jaj3jab ,so ,jeroboam and all the people came to ,rehoboam on the third day1 as the king bade1 saying1 ,come again to me on the third day4 #ad3jaj3jac ,and the king answered them roughly2 and king ,rehoboam forsook the counsel of the old men1 #ad3jaj3jad ,and answered them after the advice of the young men1 saying1 ,my father made your yoke heavy1 but ,i will add thereto3 my father chastised you with whips1 but ,i will chastise you with scorpions4 #ad3jaj3jae ,so the king hearkened not unto the people3 for the cause was of ,god1 that the ,,lord might perform his word1 which he spake by the hand of ,ahijah the ,shilonite to ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat4 #ad3jaj3jaf ,and when all ,israel saw that the king would not hearken unto them1 the people answered the king1 saying1 ,what portion have we in ,david8 and we have none inheritance in the son of ,jesse3 every man to your tents1 ,o ,israel3 and now1 ,david1 see to thine own house4 ,so all ,israel went to their tents4 #ad3jaj3jag ,but as for the children of ,israel that dwelt in the cities of ,judah1 ,rehoboam reigned over them4 #ad3jaj3jah ,then king ,rehoboam sent ,hadoram that was over the tribute2 and the children of ,israel stoned him with stones1 that he died4 ,but king ,rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot1 to flee to ,jerusalem4 #ad3jaj3jai ,and ,israel rebelled against the house of ,david unto this day4 #ad3jaa3jja ,and when ,rehoboam was come to ,jerusalem1 he gathered of the house of ,judah and ,benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men1 which were warriors1 to fight against ,israel1 that he might bring the kingdom again to ,rehoboam4 #ad3jaa3jjb ,but the word of the ,,lord came to ,shemaiah the man of ,god1 saying1 #ad3jaa3jjc ,speak unto ,rehoboam the son of ,solomon1 king of ,judah1 and to all ,israel in ,judah and ,benjamin1 saying1 #ad3jaa3jjd ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,ye shall not go up1 nor fight against your brethren3 return every man to his house3 for this thing is done of me4 ,and they obeyed the words of the ,,lord1 and returned from going against ,jeroboam4 #ad3jaa3jje ,and ,rehoboam dwelt in ,jerusalem1 and built cities for defence in ,judah4 #ad3jaa3jjf ,he built even ,bethlehem1 and ,etam1 and ,tekoa1 #ad3jaa3jjg ,and ,bethzur1 and ,shoco1 and ,adullam1 #ad3jaa3jjh ,and ,gath1 and ,mareshah1 and ,ziph1 #ad3jaa3jji ,and ,adoraim1 and ,lachish1 and ,azekah1 #ad3jaa3jaj ,and ,zorah1 and ,aijalon1 and ,hebron1 which are in ,judah and in ,benjamin fenced cities4 #ad3jaa3jaa ,and he fortified the strong holds1 and put captains in them1 and store of victual1 and of oil and wine4 #ad3jaa3jab ,and in every several city he put shields and spears1 and made them exceeding strong1 having ,judah and ,benjamin on his side4 #ad3jaa3jac ,and the priests and the ,levites that were in all ,israel resorted to him out of all their coasts4 #ad3jaa3jad ,for the ,levites left their suburbs and their possession1 and came to ,judah and ,jerusalem3 for ,jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest's office unto the ,,lord3 #ad3jaa3jae ,and he ordained him priests for the high places1 and for the devils1 and for the calves which he had made4 #ad3jaa3jaf ,and after them out of all the tribes of ,israel such as set their hearts to seek the ,,lord ,god of ,israel came to ,jerusalem1 to sacrifice unto the ,,lord ,god of their fathers4 #ad3jaa3jag ,so they strengthened the kingdom of ,judah1 and made ,rehoboam the son of ,solomon strong1 three years3 for three years they walked in the way of ,david and ,solomon4 #ad3jaa3jah ,and ,rehoboam took him ,mahalath the daughter of ,jerimoth the son of ,david to wife1 and ,abihail the daughter of ,eliab the son of ,jesse2 #ad3jaa3jai ,which bare him children2 ,jeush1 and ,shamariah1 and ,zaham4 #ad3jaa3jbj ,and after her he took ,maachah the daughter of ,absalom2 which bare him ,abijah1 and ,attai1 and ,ziza1 and ,shelomith4 #ad3jaa3jba ,and ,rehoboam loved ,maachah the daughter of ,absalom above all his wives and his concubines3 7for he took eighteen wives1 and threescore concubines2 and begat twenty and eight sons1 and threescore daughters47 #ad3jaa3jbb ,and ,rehoboam made ,abijah the son of ,maachah the chief1 to be ruler among his brethren3 for he thought to make him king4 #ad3jaa3jbc ,and he dealt wisely1 and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of ,judah and ,benjamin1 unto every fenced city3 and he gave them victual in abundance4 ,and he desired many wives4 #ad3jab3jja ,and it came to pass1 when ,rehoboam had established the kingdom1 and had strengthened himself1 he forsook the law of the ,,lord1 and all ,israel with him4 #ad3jab3jjb ,and it came to pass1 that in the fifth year of king ,rehoboam ,shishak king of ,egypt came up against ,jerusalem1 because they had transgressed against the ,,lord1 #ad3jab3jjc ,with twelve hundred chariots1 and threescore thousand horsemen3 and the people were without number that came with him out of ,egypt2 the ,lubims1 the ,sukkiims1 and the ,ethiopians4 #ad3jab3jjd ,and he took the fenced cities which pertained to ,judah1 and came to ,jerusalem4 #ad3jab3jje ,then came ,shemaiah the prophet to ,rehoboam1 and to the princes of ,judah1 that were gathered together to ,jerusalem because of ,shishak1 and said unto them1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,ye have forsaken me1 and therefore have ,i also left you in the hand of ,shishak4 #ad3jab3jjf ,whereupon the princes of ,israel and the king humbled themselves2 and they said1 ,the ,,lord is righteous4 #ad3jab3jjg ,and when the ,,lord saw that they humbled themselves1 the word of the ,,lord came to ,shemaiah1 saying1 ,they have humbled themselves2 therefore ,i will not destroy them1 but ,i will grant them some deliverance2 and my wrath shall not be poured out upon ,jerusalem by the hand of ,shishak4 #ad3jab3jjh ,nevertheless they shall be his servants2 that they may know my service1 and the service of the kingdoms of the countries4 #ad3jab3jji ,so ,shishak king of ,egypt came up against ,jerusalem1 and took away the treasures of the house of the ,,lord1 and the treasures of the king's house2 he took all3 he carried away also the shields of gold which ,solomon had made4 #ad3jab3jaj ,instead of which king ,rehoboam made shields of brass1 and committed them to the hands of the chief of the guard1 that kept the entrance of the king's house4 #ad3jab3jaa ,and when the king entered into the house of the ,,lord1 the guard came and fetched them1 and brought them again into the guard chamber4 #ad3jab3jab ,and when he humbled himself1 the wrath of the ,,lord turned from him1 that he would not destroy him altogether3 and also in ,judah things went well4 #ad3jab3jac ,so king ,rehoboam strengthened himself in ,jerusalem1 and reigned3 for ,rehoboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned seventeen years in ,jerusalem1 the city which the ,,lord had chosen out of all the tribes of ,israel1 to put his name there4 ,and his mother's name was ,naamah an ,ammonitess4 #ad3jab3jad ,and he did evil1 because he prepared not his heart to seek the ,,lord4 #ad3jab3jae ,now the acts of ,rehoboam1 first and last1 are they not written in the book of ,shemaiah the prophet1 and of ,iddo the seer concerning genealogies8 ,and there were wars between ,rehoboam and ,jeroboam continually4 #ad3jab3jaf ,and ,rehoboam slept with his fathers1 and was buried in the city of ,david3 and ,abijah his son reigned in his stead4 #ad3jac3jja ,now in the eighteenth year of king ,jeroboam began ,abijah to reign over ,judah4 #ad3jac3jjb ,he reigned three years in ,jerusalem4 ,his mother's name also was ,michaiah the daughter of ,uriel of ,gibeah4 ,and there was war between ,abijah and ,jeroboam4 #ad3jac3jjc ,and ,abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war1 even four hundred thousand chosen men3 ,jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men1 being mighty men of valour4 #ad3jac3jjd ,and ,abijah stood up upon mount ,zemaraim1 which is in mount ,ephraim1 and said1 ,hear me1 thou ,jeroboam1 and all ,israel2 #ad3jac3jje ,ought ye not to know that the ,,lord ,god of ,israel gave the kingdom over ,israel to ,david for ever1 even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt8 #ad3jac3jjf ,yet ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 the servant of ,solomon the son of ,david1 is risen up1 and hath rebelled against his lord4 #ad3jac3jjg ,and there are gathered unto him vain men1 the children of ,belial1 and have strengthened themselves against ,rehoboam the son of ,solomon1 when ,rehoboam was young and tenderhearted1 and could not withstand them4 #ad3jac3jjh ,and now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the ,,lord in the hand of the sons of ,david2 and ye be a great multitude1 and there are with your golden calves1 which ,jeroboam made you for gods4 #ad3jac3jji ,have ye not cast out the priests of the ,,lord1 the sons of ,aaron1 and the ,levites1 and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands8 so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams1 the same may be a priest of them that are no gods4 #ad3jac3jaj ,but as for us1 the ,,lord is our ,god1 and we have not forsaken him2 and the priests1 which minister unto the ,,lord1 are the sons of ,aaron1 and the ,levites wait upon their business3 #ad3jac3jaa ,and they burn unto the ,,lord every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense3 the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table2 and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof1 to burn every evening3 for we keep the charge of the ,,lord our ,god2 but ye have forsaken him4 #ad3jac3jab ,and1 behold1 ,god himself is with us for our captain1 and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you4 ,o children of ,israel1 fight ye not against the ,,lord ,god of your fathers2 for ye shall not prosper4 #ad3jac3jac ,but ,jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind them3 so they were before ,judah1 and the ambushment was behind them4 #ad3jac3jad ,and when ,judah looked back1 behold1 the battle was before and behind3 and they cried unto the ,,lord1 and the priests sounded with the trumpets4 #ad3jac3jae ,then the men of ,judah gave a shout3 and as the men of ,judah shouted1 it came to pass1 that ,god smote ,jeroboam and all ,israel before ,abijah and ,judah4 #ad3jac3jaf ,and the children of ,israel fled before ,judah3 and ,god delivered them into their hand4 #ad3jac3jag ,and ,abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter3 so there fell down slain of ,israel five hundred thousand chosen men4 #ad3jac3jah ,thus the children of ,israel were brought under at that time1 and the children of ,judah prevailed1 because they relied upon the ,,lord ,god of their fathers4 #ad3jac3jai ,and ,abijah pursued after ,jeroboam1 and took cities from him1 ,bethel with the towns thereof1 and ,jeshanah with the towns thereof1 and ,ephraim with the towns thereof4 #ad3jac3jbj ,neither did ,jeroboam recover strength again in the days of ,abijah3 and the ,,lord struck him1 and he died4 #ad3jac3jba ,but ,abijah waxed mighty1 and married fourteen wives1 and begat twenty and two sons1 and sixteen daughters4 #ad3jac3jbb ,and the rest of the acts of ,abijah1 and his ways1 and his sayings1 are written in the story of the prophet ,iddo4 #ad3jad3jja ,so ,abijah slept with his fathers1 and they buried him in the city of ,david3 and ,asa his son reigned in his stead4 ,in his days the land was quiet ten years4 #ad3jad3jjb ,and ,asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the ,,lord his ,god3 #ad3jad3jjc ,for he took away the altars of the strange gods1 and the high places1 and brake down the images1 and cut down the groves3 #ad3jad3jjd ,and commanded ,judah to seek the ,,lord ,god of their fathers1 and to do the law and the commandment4 #ad3jad3jje ,also he took away out of all the cities of ,judah the high places and the images3 and the kingdom was quiet before him4 #ad3jad3jjf ,and he built fenced cities in ,judah3 for the land had rest1 and he had no war in those years2 because the ,,lord had given him rest4 #ad3jad3jjg ,therefore he said unto ,judah1 ,let us build these cities1 and make about them walls1 and towers1 gates1 and bars1 while the land is yet before us2 because we have sought the ,,lord our ,god1 we have sought him1 and he hath given us rest on every side4 ,so they built and prospered4 #ad3jad3jjh ,and ,asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears1 out of ,judah three hundred thousand2 and out of ,benjamin1 that bare shields and drew bows1 two hundred and fourscore thousand3 all these were mighty men of valour4 #ad3jad3jji ,and there came out against them ,zerah the ,ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand1 and three hundred chariots2 and came unto ,mareshah4 #ad3jad3jaj ,then ,asa went out against him1 and they set the battle in array in the valley of ,zephathah at ,mareshah4 #ad3jad3jaa ,and ,asa cried unto the ,,lord his ,god1 and said1 ,,lord1 it is nothing with thee to help1 whether with many1 or with them that have no power3 help us1 ,o ,,lord our ,god2 for we rest on thee1 and in thy name we go against this multitude4 ,o ,,lord1 thou art our ,god2 let no man prevail against thee4 #ad3jad3jab ,so the ,,lord smote the ,ethiopians before ,asa1 and before ,judah2 and the ,ethiopians fled4 #ad3jad3jac ,and ,asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto ,gerar3 and the ,ethiopians were overthrown1 that they could not recover themselves2 for they were destroyed before the ,,lord1 and before his host2 and they carried away very much spoil4 #ad3jad3jad ,and they smote all the cities round about ,gerar2 for the fear of the ,,lord came upon them3 and they spoiled all the cities2 for there was exceeding much spoil in them4 #ad3jad3jae ,they smote also the tents of cattle1 and carried away sheep and camels in abundance1 and returned to ,jerusalem4 #ad3jae3jja ,and the ,spirit of ,god came upon ,azariah the son of ,oded3 #ad3jae3jjb ,and he went out to meet ,asa1 and said unto him1 ,hear ye me1 ,asa1 and all ,judah and ,benjamin2 ,the ,,lord is with you1 while ye be with him2 and if ye seek him1 he will be found of you2 but if ye forsake him1 he will forsake you4 #ad3jae3jjc ,now for a long season ,israel hath been without the true ,god1 and without a teaching priest1 and without law4 #ad3jae3jjd ,but when they in their trouble did turn unto the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 and sought him1 he was found of them4 #ad3jae3jje ,and in those times there was no peace to him that went out1 nor to him that came in1 but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries4 #ad3jae3jjf ,and nation was destroyed of nation1 and city of city3 for ,god did vex them with all adversity4 #ad3jae3jjg ,be ye strong therefore1 and let not your hands be weak3 for your work shall be rewarded4 #ad3jae3jjh ,and when ,asa heard these words1 and the prophecy of ,oded the prophet1 he took courage1 and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of ,judah and ,benjamin1 and out of the cities which he had taken from mount ,ephraim1 and renewed the altar of the ,,lord1 that was before the porch of the ,,lord4 #ad3jae3jji ,and he gathered all ,judah and ,benjamin1 and the strangers with them out of ,ephraim and ,manasseh1 and out of ,simeon3 for they fell to him out of ,israel in abundance1 when they saw that the ,,lord his ,god was with him4 #ad3jae3jaj ,so they gathered themselves together at ,jerusalem in the third month1 in the fifteenth year of the reign of ,asa4 #ad3jae3jaa ,and they offered unto the ,,lord the same time1 of the spoil which they had brought1 seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep4 #ad3jae3jab ,and they entered into a covenant to seek the ,,lord ,god of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul2 #ad3jae3jac ,that whosoever would not seek the ,,lord ,god of ,israel should be put to death1 whether small or great1 whether man or woman4 #ad3jae3jad ,and they sware unto the ,,lord with a loud voice1 and with shouting1 and with trumpets1 and with cornets4 #ad3jae3jae ,and all ,judah rejoiced at the oath3 for they had sworn with all their heart1 and sought him with their whole desire2 and he was found of them3 and the ,,lord gave them rest round about4 #ad3jae3jaf ,and also concerning ,maachah the mother of ,asa the king1 he removed her from being queen1 because she had made an idol in a grove3 and ,asa cut down her idol1 and stamped it1 and burnt it at the brook ,kidron4 #ad3jae3jag ,but the high places were not taken away out of ,israel3 nevertheless the heart of ,asa was perfect all his days4 #ad3jae3jah ,and he brought into the house of ,god the things that his father had dedicated1 and that he himself had dedicated1 silver1 and gold1 and vessels4 #ad3jae3jai ,and there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of ,asa4 #ad3jaf3jja ,in the six and thirtieth year of the reign of ,asa ,baasha king of ,israel came up against ,judah1 and built ,ramah1 to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to ,asa king of ,judah4 #ad3jaf3jjb ,then ,asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the ,,lord and of the king's house1 and sent to ,benhadad king of ,syria1 that dwelt at ,damascus1 saying1 #ad3jaf3jjc ,there is a league between me and thee1 as there was between my father and thy father3 behold1 ,i have sent thee silver and gold2 go1 break thy league with ,baasha king of ,israel1 that he may depart from me4 #ad3jaf3jjd ,and ,benhadad hearkened unto king ,asa1 and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of ,israel2 and they smote ,ijon1 and ,dan1 and ,abelmaim1 and all the store cities of ,naphtali4 #ad3jaf3jje ,and it came to pass1 when ,baasha heard it1 that he left off building of ,ramah1 and let his work cease4 #ad3jaf3jjf ,then ,asa the king took all ,judah2 and they carried away the stones of ,ramah1 and the timber thereof1 wherewith ,baasha was building2 and he built therewith ,geba and ,mizpah4 #ad3jaf3jjg ,and at that time ,hanani the seer came to ,asa king of ,judah1 and said unto him1 ,because thou hast relied on the king of ,syria1 and not relied on the ,,lord thy ,god1 therefore is the host of the king of ,syria escaped out of thine hand4 #ad3jaf3jjh ,were not the ,ethiopians and the ,lubims a huge host1 with very many chariots and horsemen8 yet1 because thou didst rely on the ,,lord1 he delivered them into thine hand4 #ad3jaf3jji ,for the eyes of the ,,lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth1 to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him4 ,herein thou hast done foolishly3 therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars4 #ad3jaf3jaj ,then ,asa was wroth with the seer1 and put him in a prison house2 for he was in a rage with him because of this thing4 ,and ,asa oppressed some of the people the same time4 #ad3jaf3jaa ,and1 behold1 the acts of ,asa1 first and last1 lo1 they are written in the book of the kings of ,judah and ,israel4 #ad3jaf3jab ,and ,asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet1 until his disease was exceeding great3 yet in his disease he sought not to the ,,lord1 but to the physicians4 #ad3jaf3jac ,and ,asa slept with his fathers1 and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign4 #ad3jaf3jad ,and they buried him in his own sepulchres1 which he had made for himself in the city of ,david1 and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odours and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries' art3 and they made a very great burning for him4 #ad3jag3jja ,and ,jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead1 and strengthened himself against ,israel4 #ad3jag3jjb ,and he placed forces in all the fenced cities of ,judah1 and set garrisons in the land of ,judah1 and in the cities of ,ephraim1 which ,asa his father had taken4 #ad3jag3jjc ,and the ,,lord was with ,jehoshaphat1 because he walked in the first ways of his father ,david1 and sought not unto ,baalim2 #ad3jag3jjd ,but sought to the ,lord ,god of his father1 and walked in his commandments1 and not after the doings of ,israel4 #ad3jag3jje ,therefore the ,,lord stablished the kingdom in his hand2 and all ,judah brought to ,jehoshaphat presents2 and he had riches and honour in abundance4 #ad3jag3jjf ,and his heart was lifted up in the ways of the ,,lord3 moreover he took away the high places and groves out of ,judah4 #ad3jag3jjg ,also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes1 even to ,benhail1 and to ,obadiah1 and to ,zechariah1 and to ,nethaneel1 and to ,michaiah1 to teach in the cities of ,judah4 #ad3jag3jjh ,and with them he sent ,levites1 even ,shemaiah1 and ,nethaniah1 and ,zebadiah1 and ,asahel1 and ,shemiramoth1 and ,jehonathan1 and ,adonijah1 and ,tobijah1 and ,tobadonijah1 ,levites2 and with them ,elishama and ,jehoram1 priests4 #ad3jag3jji ,and they taught in ,judah1 and had the book of the law of the ,,lord with them1 and went about throughout all the cities of ,judah1 and taught the people4 #ad3jag3jaj ,and the fear of the ,,lord fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about ,judah1 so that they made no war against ,jehoshaphat4 #ad3jag3jaa ,also some of the ,philistines brought ,jehoshaphat presents1 and tribute silver2 and the ,arabians brought him flocks1 seven thousand and seven hundred rams1 and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats4 #ad3jag3jab ,and ,jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly2 and he built in ,judah castles1 and cities of store4 #ad3jag3jac ,and he had much business in the cities of ,judah3 and the men of war1 mighty men of valour1 were in ,jerusalem4 #ad3jag3jad ,and these are the numbers of them according to the house of their fathers3 ,of ,judah1 the captains of thousands2 ,adnah the chief1 and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand4 #ad3jag3jae ,and next to him was ,jehohanan the captain1 and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand4 #ad3jag3jaf ,and next him was ,amasiah the son of ,zichri1 who willingly offered himself unto the ,,lord2 and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour4 #ad3jag3jag ,and of ,benjamin2 ,eliada a mighty man of valour1 and with him armed men with bow and shield two hundred thousand4 #ad3jag3jah ,and next him was ,jehozabad1 and with him an hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for the war4 #ad3jag3jai ,these waited on the king1 beside those whom the king put in the fenced cities throughout all ,judah4 #ad3jah3jja ,now ,jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance1 and joined affinity with ,ahab4 #ad3jah3jjb ,and after certain years he went down to ,ahab to ,samaria4 ,and ,ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance1 and for the people that he had with him1 and persuaded him to go up with him to ,ramothgilead4 #ad3jah3jjc ,and ,ahab king of ,israel said unto ,jehoshaphat king of ,judah1 ,wilt thou go with me to ,ramothgilead8 ,and he answered him1 ,i am as thou art1 and my people as thy people2 and we will be with thee in the war4 #ad3jah3jjd ,and ,jehoshaphat said unto the king of ,israel1 ,enquire1 ,i pray thee1 at the word of the ,,lord to day4 #ad3jah3jje ,therefore the king of ,israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men1 and said unto them1 ,shall we go to ,ramothgilead to battle1 or shall ,i forbear8 ,and they said1 ,go up2 for ,god will deliver it into the king's hand4 #ad3jah3jjf ,but ,jehoshaphat said1 ,is there not here a prophet of the ,,lord besides1 that we might enquire of him8 #ad3jah3jjg ,and the king of ,israel said unto ,jehoshaphat1 ,there is yet one man1 by whom we may enquire of the ,,lord3 but ,i hate him2 for he never prophesied good unto me1 but always evil3 the same is ,micaiah the son of ,imla4 ,and ,jehoshaphat said1 ,let not the king say so4 #ad3jah3jjh ,and the king of ,israel called for one of his officers1 and said1 ,fetch quickly ,micaiah the son of ,imla4 #ad3jah3jji ,and the king of ,israel and ,jehoshaphat king of ,judah sat either of them on his throne1 clothed in their robes1 and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of ,samaria2 and all the prophets prophesied before them4 #ad3jah3jaj ,and ,zedekiah the son of ,chenaanah had made him horns of iron1 and said1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,with these thou shalt push ,syria until they be consumed4 #ad3jah3jaa ,and all the prophets prophesied so1 saying1 ,go up to ,ramothgilead1 and prosper3 for the ,,lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king4 #ad3jah3jab ,and the messenger that went to call ,micaiah spake to him1 saying1 ,behold1 the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent2 let thy word therefore1 ,i pray thee1 be like one of their's1 and speak thou good4 #ad3jah3jac ,and ,micaiah said1 ,as the ,,lord liveth1 even what my ,god saith1 that will ,i speak4 #ad3jah3jad ,and when he was come to the king1 the king said unto him1 ,micaiah1 shall we go to ,ramothgilead to battle1 or shall ,i forbear8 ,and he said1 ,go ye up1 and prosper1 and they shall be delivered into your hand4 #ad3jah3jae ,and the king said to him1 ,how many times shall ,i adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the ,,lord8 #ad3jah3jaf ,then he said1 ,i did see all ,israel scattered upon the mountains1 as sheep that have no shepherd3 and the ,,lord said1 ,these have no master2 let them return therefore every man to his house in peace4 #ad3jah3jag ,and the king of ,israel said to ,jehoshaphat1 ,did ,i not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me1 but evil8 #ad3jah3jah ,again he said1 ,therefore hear the word of the ,,lord2 ,i saw the ,,lord sitting upon his throne1 and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left4 #ad3jah3jai ,and the ,,lord said1 ,who shall entice ,ahab king of ,israel1 that he may go up and fall at ,ramothgilead8 ,and one spake saying after this manner1 and another saying after that manner4 #ad3jah3jbj ,then there came out a spirit1 and stood before the ,,lord1 and said1 ,i will entice him4 ,and the ,,lord said unto him1 ,wherewith8 #ad3jah3jba ,and he said1 ,i will go out1 and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets4 ,and the ,lord said1 ,thou shalt entice him1 and thou shalt also prevail3 go out1 and do even so4 #ad3jah3jbb ,now therefore1 behold1 the ,,lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets1 and the ,,lord hath spoken evil against thee4 #ad3jah3jbc ,then ,zedekiah the son of ,chenaanah came near1 and smote ,micaiah upon the cheek1 and said1 ,which way went the ,spirit of the ,,lord from me to speak unto thee8 #ad3jah3jbd ,and ,micaiah said1 ,behold1 thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself4 #ad3jah3jbe ,then the king of ,israel said1 ,take ye ,micaiah1 and carry him back to ,amon the governor of the city1 and to ,joash the king's son2 #ad3jah3jbf ,and say1 ,thus saith the king1 ,put this fellow in the prison1 and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction1 until ,i return in peace4 #ad3jah3jbg ,and ,micaiah said1 ,if thou certainly return in peace1 then hath not the ,,lord spoken by me4 ,and he said1 ,hearken1 all ye people4 #ad3jah3jbh ,so the king of ,israel and ,jehoshaphat the king of ,judah went up to ,ramothgilead4 #ad3jah3jbi ,and the king of ,israel said unto ,jehoshaphat1 ,i will disguise myself1 and ,i will go to the battle2 but put thou on thy robes4 ,so the king of ,israel disguised himself2 and they went to the battle4 #ad3jah3jcj ,now the king of ,syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him1 saying1 ,fight ye not with small or great1 save only with the king of ,israel4 #ad3jah3jca ,and it came to pass1 when the captains of the chariots saw ,jehoshaphat1 that they said1 ,it is the king of ,israel4 ,therefore they compassed about him to fight3 but ,jehoshaphat cried out1 and the ,,lord helped him2 and ,god moved them to depart from him4 #ad3jah3jcb ,for it came to pass1 that1 when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of ,israel1 they turned back again from pursuing him4 #ad3jah3jcc ,and a certain man drew a bow at a venture1 and smote the king of ,israel between the joints of the harness3 therefore he said to his chariot man1 ,turn thine hand1 that thou mayest carry me out of the host2 for ,i am wounded4 #ad3jah3jcd ,and the battle increased that day3 howbeit the king of ,israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the ,syrians until the even3 and about the time of the sun going down he died4 #ad3jai3jja ,and ,jehoshaphat the king of ,judah returned to his house in peace to ,jerusalem4 #ad3jai3jjb ,and ,jehu the son of ,hanani the seer went out to meet him1 and said to king ,jehoshaphat1 ,shouldest thou help the ungodly1 and love them that hate the ,,lord8 therefore is wrath upon thee from before the ,,lord4 #ad3jai3jjc ,nevertheless there are good things found in thee1 in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land1 and hast prepared thine heart to seek ,god4 #ad3jai3jjd ,and ,jehoshaphat dwelt at ,jerusalem3 and he went out again through the people from ,beersheba to mount ,ephraim1 and brought them back unto the ,,lord ,god of their fathers4 #ad3jai3jje ,and he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of ,judah1 city by city1 #ad3jai3jjf ,and said to the judges1 ,take heed what ye do3 for ye judge not for man1 but for the ,,lord1 who is with you in the judgment4 #ad3jai3jjg ,wherefore now let the fear of the ,,lord be upon you2 take heed and do it3 for there is no iniquity with the ,,lord our ,god1 nor respect of persons1 nor taking of gifts4 #ad3jai3jjh ,moreover in ,jerusalem did ,jehoshaphat set of the ,levites1 and of the priests1 and of the chief of the fathers of ,israel1 for the judgment of the ,,lord1 and for controversies1 when they returned to ,jerusalem4 #ad3jai3jji ,and he charged them1 saying1 ,thus shall ye do in the fear of the ,,lord1 faithfully1 and with a perfect heart4 #ad3jai3jaj ,and what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in your cities1 between blood and blood1 between law and commandment1 statutes and judgments1 ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the ,,lord1 and so wrath come upon you1 and upon your brethren3 this do1 and ye shall not trespass4 #ad3jai3jaa ,and1 behold1 ,amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the ,,lord2 and ,zebadiah the son of ,ishmael1 the ruler of the house of ,judah1 for all the king's matters3 also the ,levites shall be officers before you4 ,deal courageously1 and the ,,lord shall be with the good4 #ad3jbj3jja ,it came to pass after this also1 that the children of ,moab1 and the children of ,ammon1 and with them other beside the ,ammonites1 came against ,jehoshaphat to battle4 #ad3jbj3jjb ,then there came some that told ,jehoshaphat1 saying1 ,there cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side ,syria2 and1 behold1 they be in ,hazazontamar1 which is ,engedi4 #ad3jbj3jjc ,and ,jehoshaphat feared1 and set himself to seek the ,,lord1 and proclaimed a fast throughout all ,judah4 #ad3jbj3jjd ,and ,judah gathered themselves together1 to ask help of the ,,lord3 even out of all the cities of ,judah they came to seek the ,,lord4 #ad3jbj3jje ,and ,jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of ,judah and ,jerusalem1 in the house of the ,,lord1 before the new court1 #ad3jbj3jjf ,and said1 ,o ,,lord ,god of our fathers1 art not thou ,god in heaven8 and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen8 and in thine hand is there not power and might1 so that none is able to withstand thee8 #ad3jbj3jjg ,art not thou our ,god1 who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people ,israel1 and gavest it to the seed of ,abraham thy friend for ever8 #ad3jbj3jjh ,and they dwelt therein1 and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name1 saying1 #ad3jbj3jji ,if1 when evil cometh upon us1 as the sword1 judgment1 or pestilence1 or famine1 we stand before this house1 and in thy presence1 7for thy name is in this house17 and cry unto thee in our affliction1 then thou wilt hear and help4 #ad3jbj3jaj ,and now1 behold1 the children of ,ammon and ,moab and mount ,seir1 whom thou wouldest not let ,israel invade1 when they came out of the land of ,egypt1 but they turned from them1 and destroyed them not2 #ad3jbj3jaa ,behold1 ,i say1 how they reward us1 to come to cast us out of thy possession1 which thou hast given us to inherit4 #ad3jbj3jab ,o our ,god1 wilt thou not judge them8 for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us2 neither know we what to do3 but our eyes are upon thee4 #ad3jbj3jac ,and all ,judah stood before the ,,lord1 with their little ones1 their wives1 and their children4 #ad3jbj3jad ,then upon ,jahaziel the son of ,zechariah1 the son of ,benaiah1 the son of ,jeiel1 the son of ,mattaniah1 a ,levite of the sons of ,asaph1 came the ,spirit of the ,,lord in the midst of the congregation2 #ad3jbj3jae ,and he said1 ,hearken ye1 all ,judah1 and ye inhabitants of ,jerusalem1 and thou king ,jehoshaphat1 ,thus saith the ,,lord unto you1 ,be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude2 for the battle is not yours1 but ,god's4 #ad3jbj3jaf ,to morrow go ye down against them3 behold1 they come up by the cliff of ,ziz2 and ye shall find them at the end of the brook1 before the wilderness of ,jeruel4 #ad3jbj3jag ,ye shall not need to fight in this battle3 set yourselves1 stand ye still1 and see the salvation of the ,,lord with you1 ,o ,judah and ,jerusalem3 fear not1 nor be dismayed2 to morrow go out against them3 for the ,,lord will be with you4 #ad3jbj3jah ,and ,jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground3 and all ,judah and the inhabitants of ,jerusalem fell before the ,,lord1 worshipping the ,,lord4 #ad3jbj3jai ,and the ,levites1 of the children of the ,kohathites1 and of the children of the ,korhites1 stood up to praise the ,,lord ,god of ,israel with a loud voice on high4 #ad3jbj3jbj ,and they rose early in the morning1 and went forth into the wilderness of ,tekoa3 and as they went forth1 ,jehoshaphat stood and said1 ,hear me1 ,o ,judah1 and ye inhabitants of ,jerusalem2 ,believe in the ,,lord your ,god1 so shall ye be established2 believe his prophets1 so shall ye prosper4 #ad3jbj3jba ,and when he had consulted with the people1 he appointed singers unto the ,,lord1 and that should praise the beauty of holiness1 as they went out before the army1 and to say1 ,praise the ,,lord2 for his mercy endureth for ever4 #ad3jbj3jbb ,and when they began to sing and to praise1 the ,,lord set ambushments against the children of ,ammon1 ,moab1 and mount ,seir1 which were come against ,judah2 and they were smitten4 #ad3jbj3jbc ,for the children of ,ammon and ,moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount ,seir1 utterly to slay and destroy them3 and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of ,seir1 every one helped to destroy another4 #ad3jbj3jbd ,and when ,judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness1 they looked unto the multitude1 and1 behold1 they were dead bodies fallen to the earth1 and none escaped4 #ad3jbj3jbe ,and when ,jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them1 they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies1 and precious jewels1 which they stripped off for themselves1 more than they could carry away3 and they were three days in gathering of the spoil1 it was so much4 #ad3jbj3jbf ,and on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of ,berachah2 for there they blessed the ,,lord3 therefore the name of the same place was called1 ,the valley of ,berachah1 unto this day4 #ad3jbj3jbg ,then they returned1 every man of ,judah and ,jerusalem1 and ,jehoshaphat in the forefront of them1 to go again to ,jerusalem with joy2 for the ,,lord had made them to rejoice over their enemies4 #ad3jbj3jbh ,and they came to ,jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbj3jbi ,and the fear of ,god was on all the kingdoms of those countries1 when they had heard that the ,,lord fought against the enemies of ,israel4 #ad3jbj3jcj ,so the realm of ,jehoshaphat was quiet3 for his ,god gave him rest round about4 #ad3jbj3jca ,and ,jehoshaphat reigned over ,judah3 he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned twenty and five years in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,azubah the daughter of ,shilhi4 #ad3jbj3jcb ,and he walked in the way of ,asa his father1 and departed not from it1 doing that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbj3jcc ,howbeit the high places were not taken away3 for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts unto the ,god of their fathers4 #ad3jbj3jcd ,now the rest of the acts of ,jehoshaphat1 first and last1 behold1 they are written in the book of ,jehu the son of ,hanani1 who is mentioned in the book of the kings of ,israel4 #ad3jbj3jce ,and after this did ,jehoshaphat king of ,judah join himself with ,ahaziah king of ,israel1 who did very wickedly3 #ad3jbj3jcf ,and he joined himself with him to make ships to go to ,tarshish3 and they made the ships in ,eziongaber4 #ad3jbj3jcg ,then ,eliezer the son of ,dodavah of ,mareshah prophesied against ,jehoshaphat1 saying1 ,because thou hast joined thyself with ,ahaziah1 the ,,lord hath broken thy works4 ,and the ships were broken1 that they were not able to go to ,tarshish4 #ad3jba3jja ,now ,jehoshaphat slept with his fathers1 and was buried with his fathers in the city of ,david4 ,and ,jehoram his son reigned in his stead4 #ad3jba3jjb ,and he had brethren the sons of ,jehoshaphat1 ,azariah1 and ,jehiel1 and ,zechariah1 and ,azariah1 and ,michael1 and ,shephatiah3 all these were the sons of ,jehoshaphat king of ,israel4 #ad3jba3jjc ,and their father gave them great gifts of silver1 and of gold1 and of precious things1 with fenced cities in ,judah3 but the kingdom gave he to ,jehoram2 because he was the firstborn4 #ad3jba3jjd ,now when ,jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father1 he strengthened himself1 and slew all his brethren with the sword1 and divers also of the princes of ,israel4 #ad3jba3jje ,jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned eight years in ,jerusalem4 #ad3jba3jjf ,and he walked in the way of the kings of ,israel1 like as did the house of ,ahab3 for he had the daughter of ,ahab to wife3 and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the ,,lord4 #ad3jba3jjg ,howbeit the ,,lord would not destroy the house of ,david1 because of the covenant that he had made with ,david1 and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever4 #ad3jba3jjh ,in his days the ,edomites revolted from under the dominion of ,judah1 and made themselves a king4 #ad3jba3jji ,then ,jehoram went forth with his princes1 and all his chariots with him3 and he rose up by night1 and smote the ,edomites which compassed him in1 and the captains of the chariots4 #ad3jba3jaj ,so the ,edomites revolted from under the hand of ,judah unto this day4 ,the same time also did ,libnah revolt from under his hand2 because he had forsaken the ,,lord ,god of his fathers4 #ad3jba3jaa ,moreover he made high places in the mountains of ,judah and caused the inhabitants of ,jerusalem to commit fornication1 and compelled ,judah thereto4 #ad3jba3jab ,and there came a writing to him from ,elijah the prophet1 saying1 ,thus saith the ,,lord ,god of ,david thy father1 ,because thou hast not walked in the ways of ,jehoshaphat thy father1 nor in the ways of ,asa king of ,judah1 #ad3jba3jac ,but hast walked in the way of the kings of ,israel1 and hast made ,judah and the inhabitants of ,jerusalem to go a whoring1 like to the whoredoms of the house of ,ahab1 and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house1 which were better than thyself3 #ad3jba3jad ,behold1 with a great plague will the ,,lord smite thy people1 and thy children1 and thy wives1 and all thy goods3 #ad3jba3jae ,and thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels1 until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day4 #ad3jba3jaf ,moreover the ,,lord stirred up against ,jehoram the spirit of the ,philistines1 and of the ,arabians1 that were near the ,ethiopians3 #ad3jba3jag ,and they came up into ,judah1 and brake into it1 and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house1 and his sons also1 and his wives2 so that there was never a son left him1 save ,jehoahaz1 the youngest of his sons4 #ad3jba3jah ,and after all this the ,,lord smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease4 #ad3jba3jai ,and it came to pass1 that in process of time1 after the end of two years1 his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness3 so he died of sore diseases4 ,and his people made no burning for him1 like the burning of his fathers4 #ad3jba3jbj ,thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign1 and he reigned in ,jerusalem eight years1 and departed without being desired4 ,howbeit they buried him in the city of ,david1 but not in the sepulchres of the kings4 #ad3jbb3jja ,and the inhabitants of ,jerusalem made ,ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead3 for the band of men that came with the ,arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest4 ,so ,ahaziah the son of ,jehoram king of ,judah reigned4 #ad3jbb3jjb ,forty and two years old was ,ahaziah when he began to reign1 and he reigned one year in ,jerusalem4 ,his mother's name also was ,athaliah the daughter of ,omri4 #ad3jbb3jjc ,he also walked in the ways of the house of ,ahab3 for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly4 #ad3jbb3jjd ,wherefore he did evil in the sight of the ,,lord like the house of ,ahab3 for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction4 #ad3jbb3jje ,he walked also after their counsel1 and went with ,jehoram the son of ,ahab king of ,israel to war against ,hazael king of ,syria at ,ramothgilead3 and the ,syrians smote ,joram4 #ad3jbb3jjf ,and he returned to be healed in ,jezreel because of the wounds which were given him at ,ramah1 when he fought with ,hazael king of ,syria4 ,and ,azariah the son of ,jehoram king of ,judah went down to see ,jehoram the son of ,ahab at ,jezreel1 because he was sick4 #ad3jbb3jjg ,and the destruction of ,ahaziah was of ,god by coming to ,joram3 for when he was come1 he went out with ,jehoram against ,jehu the son of ,nimshi1 whom the ,,lord had anointed to cut off the house of ,ahab4 #ad3jbb3jjh ,and it came to pass1 that1 when ,jehu was executing judgment upon the house of ,ahab1 and found the princes of ,judah1 and the sons of the brethren of ,ahaziah1 that ministered to ,ahaziah1 he slew them4 #ad3jbb3jji ,and he sought ,ahaziah3 and they caught him1 7for he was hid in ,samaria17 and brought him to ,jehu3 and when they had slain him1 they buried him3 ,because1 said they1 he is the son of ,jehoshaphat1 who sought the ,,lord with all his heart4 ,so the house of ,ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom4 #ad3jbb3jaj ,but when ,athaliah the mother of ,ahaziah saw that her son was dead1 she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of ,judah4 #ad3jbb3jaa ,but ,jehoshabeath1 the daughter of the king1 took ,joash the son of ,ahaziah1 and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain1 and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber4 ,so ,jehoshabeath1 the daughter of king ,jehoram1 the wife of ,jehoiada the priest1 7for she was the sister of ,ahaziah17 hid him from ,athaliah1 so that she slew him not4 #ad3jbb3jab ,and he was with them hid in the house of ,god six years3 and ,athaliah reigned over the land4 #ad3jbc3jja ,and in the seventh year ,jehoiada strengthened himself1 and took the captains of hundreds1 ,azariah the son of ,jeroham1 and ,ishmael the son of ,jehohanan1 and ,azariah the son of ,obed1 and ,maaseiah the son of ,adaiah1 and ,elishaphat the son of ,zichri1 into covenant with him4 #ad3jbc3jjb ,and they went about in ,judah1 and gathered the ,levites out of all the cities of ,judah1 and the chief of the fathers of ,israel1 and they came to ,jerusalem4 #ad3jbc3jjc ,and all the congregation made a covenant with the king in the house of ,god4 ,and he said unto them1 ,behold1 the king's son shall reign1 as the ,,lord hath said of the sons of ,david4 #ad3jbc3jjd ,this is the thing that ye shall do2 ,a third part of you entering on the sabbath1 of the priests and of the ,levites1 shall be porters of the doors2 #ad3jbc3jje ,and a third part shall be at the king's house2 and a third part at the gate of the foundation3 and all the people shall be in the courts of the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbc3jjf ,but let none come into the house of the ,,lord1 save the priests1 and they that minister of the ,levites2 they shall go in1 for they are holy3 but all the people shall keep the watch of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbc3jjg ,and the ,levites shall compass the king round about1 every man with his weapons in his hand2 and whosoever else cometh into the house1 he shall be put to death3 but be ye with the king when he cometh in1 and when he goeth out4 #ad3jbc3jjh ,so the ,levites and all ,judah did according to all things that ,jehoiada the priest had commanded1 and took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath1 with them that were to go out on the sabbath3 for ,jehoiada the priest dismissed not the courses4 #ad3jbc3jji ,moreover ,jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds spears1 and bucklers1 and shields1 that had been king ,david's1 which were in the house of ,god4 #ad3jbc3jaj ,and he set all the people1 every man having his weapon in his hand1 from the right side of the temple to the left side of the temple1 along by the altar and the temple1 by the king round about4 #ad3jbc3jaa ,then they brought out the king's son1 and put upon him the crown1 and gave him the testimony1 and made him king4 ,and ,jehoiada and his sons anointed him1 and said1 ,god save the king4 #ad3jbc3jab ,now when ,athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king1 she came to the people into the house of the ,,lord3 #ad3jbc3jac ,and she looked1 and1 behold1 the king stood at his pillar at the entering in1 and the princes and the trumpets by the king3 and all the people of the land rejoiced1 and sounded with trumpets1 also the singers with instruments of musick1 and such as taught to sing praise4 ,then ,athaliah rent her clothes1 and said1 ,treason1 ,treason4 #ad3jbc3jad ,then ,jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the host1 and said unto them1 ,have her forth of the ranges3 and whoso followeth her1 let him be slain with the sword4 ,for the priest said1 ,slay her not in the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbc3jae ,so they laid hands on her2 and when she was come to the entering of the horse gate by the king's house1 they slew her there4 #ad3jbc3jaf ,and ,jehoiada made a covenant between him1 and between all the people1 and between the king1 that they should be the ,,lord's people4 #ad3jbc3jag ,then all the people went to the house of ,baal1 and brake it down1 and brake his altars and his images in pieces1 and slew ,mattan the priest of ,baal before the altars4 #ad3jbc3jah ,also ,jehoiada appointed the offices of the house of the ,,lord by the hand of the priests the ,levites1 whom ,david had distributed in the house of the ,,lord1 to offer the burnt offerings of the ,,lord1 as it is written in the law of ,moses1 with rejoicing and with singing1 as it was ordained by ,david4 #ad3jbc3jai ,and he set the porters at the gates of the house of the ,,lord1 that none which was unclean in any thing should enter in4 #ad3jbc3jbj ,and he took the captains of hundreds1 and the nobles1 and the governors of the people1 and all the people of the land1 and brought down the king from the house of the ,,lord3 and they came through the high gate into the king's house1 and set the king upon the throne of the kingdom4 #ad3jbc3jba ,and all the people of the land rejoiced3 and the city was quiet1 after that they had slain ,athaliah with the sword4 #ad3jbd3jja ,joash was seven years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned forty years in ,jerusalem4 ,his mother's name also was ,zibiah of ,beersheba4 #ad3jbd3jjb ,and ,joash did that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord all the days of ,jehoiada the priest4 #ad3jbd3jjc ,and ,jehoiada took for him two wives2 and he begat sons and daughters4 #ad3jbd3jjd ,and it came to pass after this1 that ,joash was minded to repair the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbd3jje ,and he gathered together the priests and the ,levites1 and said to them1 ,go out unto the cities of ,judah1 and gather of all ,israel money to repair the house of your ,god from year to year1 and see that ye hasten the matter4 ,howbeit the ,levites hastened it not4 #ad3jbd3jjf ,and the king called for ,jehoiada the chief1 and said unto him1 ,why hast thou not required of the ,levites to bring in out of ,judah and out of ,jerusalem the collection1 according to the commandment of ,moses the servant of the ,,lord1 and of the congregation of ,israel1 for the tabernacle of witness8 #ad3jbd3jjg ,for the sons of ,athaliah1 that wicked woman1 had broken up the house of ,god2 and also all the dedicated things of the house of the ,,lord did they bestow upon ,baalim4 #ad3jbd3jjh ,and at the king's commandment they made a chest1 and set it without at the gate of the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbd3jji ,and they made a proclamation through ,judah and ,jerusalem1 to bring in to the ,,lord the collection that ,moses the servant of ,god laid upon ,israel in the wilderness4 #ad3jbd3jaj ,and all the princes and all the people rejoiced1 and brought in1 and cast into the chest1 until they had made an end4 #ad3jbd3jaa ,now it came to pass1 that at what time the chest was brought unto the king's office by the hand of the ,levites1 and when they saw that there was much money1 the king's scribe and the high priest's officer came and emptied the chest1 and took it1 and carried it to his place again4 ,thus they did day by day1 and gathered money in abundance4 #ad3jbd3jab ,and the king and ,jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the ,,lord1 and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the ,,lord1 and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbd3jac ,so the workmen wrought1 and the work was perfected by them1 and they set the house of ,god in his state1 and strengthened it4 #ad3jbd3jad ,and when they had finished it1 they brought the rest of the money before the king and ,jehoiada1 whereof were made vessels for the house of the ,,lord1 even vessels to minister1 and to offer withal1 and spoons1 and vessels of gold and silver4 ,and they offered burnt offerings in the house of the ,,lord continually all the days of ,jehoiada4 #ad3jbd3jae ,but ,jehoiada waxed old1 and was full of days when he died2 an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died4 #ad3jbd3jaf ,and they buried him in the city of ,david among the kings1 because he had done good in ,israel1 both toward ,god1 and toward his house4 #ad3jbd3jag ,now after the death of ,jehoiada came the princes of ,judah1 and made obeisance to the king4 ,then the king hearkened unto them4 #ad3jbd3jah ,and they left the house of the ,,lord ,god of their fathers1 and served groves and idols3 and wrath came upon ,judah and ,jerusalem for this their trespass4 #ad3jbd3jai ,yet he sent prophets to them1 to bring them again unto the ,,lord2 and they testified against them3 but they would not give ear4 #ad3jbd3jbj ,and the ,spirit of ,god came upon ,zechariah the son of ,jehoiada the priest1 which stood above the people1 and said unto them1 ,thus saith ,god1 ,why transgress ye the commandments of the ,,lord1 that ye cannot prosper8 because ye have forsaken the ,,lord1 he hath also forsaken you4 #ad3jbd3jba ,and they conspired against him1 and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbd3jbb ,thus ,joash the king remembered not the kindness which ,jehoiada his father had done to him1 but slew his son4 ,and when he died1 he said1 ,the ,,lord look upon it1 and require it4 #ad3jbd3jbc ,and it came to pass at the end of the year1 that the host of ,syria came up against him3 and they came to ,judah and ,jerusalem1 and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people1 and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of ,damascus4 #ad3jbd3jbd ,for the army of the ,syrians came with a small company of men1 and the ,,lord delivered a very great host into their hand1 because they had forsaken the ,,lord ,god of their fathers4 ,so they executed judgment against ,joash4 #ad3jbd3jbe ,and when they were departed from him1 7for they left him in great diseases17 his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of ,jehoiada the priest1 and slew him on his bed1 and he died3 and they buried him in the city of ,david1 but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings4 #ad3jbd3jbf ,and these are they that conspired against him2 ,zabad the son of ,shimeath an ,ammonitess1 and ,jehozabad the son of ,shimrith a ,moabitess4 #ad3jbd3jbg ,now concerning his sons1 and the greatness of the burdens laid upon him1 and the repairing of the house of ,god1 behold1 they are written in the story of the book of the kings4 ,and ,amaziah his son reigned in his stead4 #ad3jbe3jja ,amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned twenty and nine years in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,jehoaddan of ,jerusalem4 #ad3jbe3jjb ,and he did that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord1 but not with a perfect heart4 #ad3jbe3jjc ,now it came to pass1 when the kingdom was established to him1 that he slew his servants that had killed the king his father4 #ad3jbe3jjd ,but he slew not their children1 but did as it is written in the law in the book of ,moses1 where the ,,lord commanded1 saying1 ,the fathers shall not die for the children1 neither shall the children die for the fathers1 but every man shall die for his own sin4 #ad3jbe3jje ,moreover ,amaziah gathered ,judah together1 and made them captains over thousands1 and captains over hundreds1 according to the houses of their fathers1 throughout all ,judah and ,benjamin3 and he numbered them from twenty years old and above1 and found them three hundred thousand choice men1 able to go forth to war1 that could handle spear and shield4 #ad3jbe3jjf ,he hired also an hundred thousand mighty men of valour out of ,israel for an hundred talents of silver4 #ad3jbe3jjg ,but there came a man of ,god to him1 saying1 ,o king1 let not the army of ,israel go with thee2 for the ,,lord is not with ,israel1 to wit1 with all the children of ,ephraim4 #ad3jbe3jjh ,but if thou wilt go1 do it2 be strong for the battle3 ,god shall make thee fall before the enemy3 for ,god hath power to help1 and to cast down4 #ad3jbe3jji ,and ,amaziah said to the man of ,god1 ,but what shall we do for the hundred talents which ,i have given to the army of ,israel8 ,and the man of ,god answered1 ,the ,,lord is able to give thee much more than this4 #ad3jbe3jaj ,then ,amaziah separated them1 to wit1 the army that was come to him out of ,ephraim1 to go home again3 wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against ,judah1 and they returned home in great anger4 #ad3jbe3jaa ,and ,amaziah strengthened himself1 and led forth his people1 and went to the valley of salt1 and smote of the children of ,seir ten thousand4 #ad3jbe3jab ,and other ten thousand left alive did the children of ,judah carry away captive1 and brought them unto the top of the rock1 and cast them down from the top of the rock1 that they all were broken in pieces4 #ad3jbe3jac ,but the soldiers of the army which ,amaziah sent back1 that they should not go with him to battle1 fell upon the cities of ,judah1 from ,samaria even unto ,bethhoron1 and smote three thousand of them1 and took much spoil4 #ad3jbe3jad ,now it came to pass1 after that ,amaziah was come from the slaughter of the ,edomites1 that he brought the gods of the children of ,seir1 and set them up to be his gods1 and bowed down himself before them1 and burned incense unto them4 #ad3jbe3jae ,wherefore the anger of the ,,lord was kindled against ,amaziah1 and he sent unto him a prophet1 which said unto him1 ,why hast thou sought after the gods of the people1 which could not deliver their own people out of thine hand8 #ad3jbe3jaf ,and it came to pass1 as he talked with him1 that the king said unto him1 ,art thou made of the king's counsel8 forbear2 why shouldest thou be smitten8 ,then the prophet forbare1 and said1 ,i know that ,god hath determined to destroy thee1 because thou hast done this1 and hast not hearkened unto my counsel4 #ad3jbe3jag ,then ,amaziah king of ,judah took advice1 and sent to ,joash1 the son of ,jehoahaz1 the son of ,jehu1 king of ,israel1 saying1 ,come1 let us see one another in the face4 #ad3jbe3jah ,and ,joash king of ,israel sent to ,amaziah king of ,judah1 saying1 ,the thistle that was in ,lebanon sent to the cedar that was in ,lebanon1 saying1 ,give thy daughter to my son to wife3 and there passed by a wild beast that was in ,lebanon1 and trode down the thistle4 #ad3jbe3jai ,thou sayest1 ,lo1 thou hast smitten the ,edomites2 and thine heart lifteth thee up to boast3 abide now at home2 why shouldest thou meddle to thine hurt1 that thou shouldest fall1 even thou1 and ,judah with thee8 #ad3jbe3jbj ,but ,amaziah would not hear2 for it came of ,god1 that he might deliver them into the hand of their enemies1 because they sought after the gods of ,edom4 #ad3jbe3jba ,so ,joash the king of ,israel went up2 and they saw one another in the face1 both he and ,amaziah king of ,judah1 at ,bethshemesh1 which belongeth to ,judah4 #ad3jbe3jbb ,and ,judah was put to the worse before ,israel1 and they fled every man to his tent4 #ad3jbe3jbc ,and ,joash the king of ,israel took ,amaziah king of ,judah1 the son of ,joash1 the son of ,jehoahaz1 at ,bethshemesh1 and brought him to ,jerusalem1 and brake down the wall of ,jerusalem from the gate of ,ephraim to the corner gate1 four hundred cubits4 #ad3jbe3jbd ,and he took all the gold and the silver1 and all the vessels that were found in the house of ,god with ,obededom1 and the treasures of the king's house1 the hostages also1 and returned to ,samaria4 #ad3jbe3jbe ,and ,amaziah the son of ,joash king of ,judah lived after the death of ,joash son of ,jehoahaz king of ,israel fifteen years4 #ad3jbe3jbf ,now the rest of the acts of ,amaziah1 first and last1 behold1 are they not written in the book of the kings of ,judah and ,israel8 #ad3jbe3jbg ,now after the time that ,amaziah did turn away from following the ,,lord they made a conspiracy against him in ,jerusalem2 and he fled to ,lachish3 but they sent to ,lachish after him1 and slew him there4 #ad3jbe3jbh ,and they brought him upon horses1 and buried him with his fathers in the city of ,judah4 #ad3jbf3jja ,then all the people of ,judah took ,uzziah1 who was sixteen years old1 and made him king in the room of his father ,amaziah4 #ad3jbf3jjb ,he built ,eloth1 and restored it to ,judah1 after that the king slept with his fathers4 #ad3jbf3jjc ,sixteen years old was ,uzziah when he began to reign1 and he reigned fifty and two years in ,jerusalem4 ,his mother's name also was ,jecoliah of ,jerusalem4 #ad3jbf3jjd ,and he did that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord1 according to all that his father ,amaziah did4 #ad3jbf3jje ,and he sought ,god in the days of ,zechariah1 who had understanding in the visions of ,god3 and as long as he sought the ,,lord1 ,god made him to prosper4 #ad3jbf3jjf ,and he went forth and warred against the ,philistines1 and brake down the wall of ,gath1 and the wall of ,jabneh1 and the wall of ,ashdod1 and built cities about ,ashdod1 and among the ,philistines4 #ad3jbf3jjg ,and ,god helped him against the ,philistines1 and against the ,arabians that dwelt in ,gurbaal1 and the ,mehunims4 #ad3jbf3jjh ,and the ,ammonites gave gifts to ,uzziah3 and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of ,egypt2 for he strengthened himself exceedingly4 #ad3jbf3jji ,moreover ,uzziah built towers in ,jerusalem at the corner gate1 and at the valley gate1 and at the turning of the wall1 and fortified them4 #ad3jbf3jaj ,also he built towers in the desert1 and digged many wells3 for he had much cattle1 both in the low country1 and in the plains3 husbandmen also1 and vine dressers in the mountains1 and in ,carmel3 for he loved husbandry4 #ad3jbf3jaa ,moreover ,uzziah had an host of fighting men1 that went out to war by bands1 according to the number of their account by the hand of ,jeiel the scribe and ,maaseiah the ruler1 under the hand of ,hananiah1 one of the king's captains4 #ad3jbf3jab ,the whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valour were two thousand and six hundred4 #ad3jbf3jac ,and under their hand was an army1 three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred1 that made war with mighty power1 to help the king against the enemy4 #ad3jbf3jad ,and ,uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields1 and spears1 and helmets1 and habergeons1 and bows1 and slings to cast stones4 #ad3jbf3jae ,and he made in ,jerusalem engines1 invented by cunning men1 to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks1 to shoot arrows and great stones withal4 ,and his name spread far abroad2 for he was marvellously helped1 till he was strong4 #ad3jbf3jaf ,but when he was strong1 his heart was lifted up to his destruction3 for he transgressed against the ,,lord his ,god1 and went into the temple of the ,,lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense4 #ad3jbf3jag ,and ,azariah the priest went in after him1 and with him fourscore priests of the ,,lord1 that were valiant men3 #ad3jbf3jah ,and they withstood ,uzziah the king1 and said unto him1 ,it appertaineth not unto thee1 ,uzziah1 to burn incense unto the ,,lord1 but to the priests the sons of ,aaron1 that are consecrated to burn incense3 go out of the sanctuary2 for thou hast trespassed2 neither shall it be for thine honour from the ,,lord ,god4 #ad3jbf3jai ,then ,uzziah was wroth1 and had a censer in his hand to burn incense3 and while he was wroth with the priests1 the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the ,,lord1 from beside the incense altar4 #ad3jbf3jbj ,and ,azariah the chief priest1 and all the priests1 looked upon him1 and1 behold1 he was leprous in his forehead1 and they thrust him out from thence2 yea1 himself hasted also to go out1 because the ,,lord had smitten him4 #ad3jbf3jba ,and ,uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death1 and dwelt in a several house1 being a leper2 for he was cut off from the house of the ,,lord3 and ,jotham his son was over the king's house1 judging the people of the land4 #ad3jbf3jbb ,now the rest of the acts of ,uzziah1 first and last1 did ,isaiah the prophet1 the son of ,amoz1 write4 #ad3jbf3jbc ,so ,uzziah slept with his fathers1 and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings2 for they said1 ,he is a leper3 and ,jotham his son reigned in his stead4 #ad3jbg3jja ,jotham was twenty and five years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned sixteen years in ,jerusalem4 ,his mother's name also was ,jerushah1 the daughter of ,zadok4 #ad3jbg3jjb ,and he did that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord1 according to all that his father ,uzziah did3 howbeit he entered not into the temple of the ,,lord4 ,and the people did yet corruptly4 #ad3jbg3jjc ,he built the high gate of the house of the ,,lord1 and on the wall of ,ophel he built much4 #ad3jbg3jjd ,moreover he built cities in the mountains of ,judah1 and in the forests he built castles and towers4 #ad3jbg3jje ,he fought also with the king of the ,ammonites1 and prevailed against them4 ,and the children of ,ammon gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver1 and ten thousand measures of wheat1 and ten thousand of barley4 ,so much did the children of ,ammon pay unto him1 both the second year1 and the third4 #ad3jbg3jjf ,so ,jotham became mighty1 because he prepared his ways before the ,,lord his ,god4 #ad3jbg3jjg ,now the rest of the acts of ,jotham1 and all his wars1 and his ways1 lo1 they are written in the book of the kings of ,israel and ,judah4 #ad3jbg3jjh ,he was five and twenty years old when he began to reign1 and reigned sixteen years in ,jerusalem4 #ad3jbg3jji ,and ,jotham slept with his fathers1 and they buried him in the city of ,david3 and ,ahaz his son reigned in his stead4 #ad3jbh3jja ,ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned sixteen years in ,jerusalem3 but he did not that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord1 like ,david his father3 #ad3jbh3jjb ,for he walked in the ways of the kings of ,israel1 and made also molten images for ,baalim4 #ad3jbh3jjc ,moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of ,hinnom1 and burnt his children in the fire1 after the abominations of the heathen whom the ,,lord had cast out before the children of ,israel4 #ad3jbh3jjd ,he sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places1 and on the hills1 and under every green tree4 #ad3jbh3jje ,wherefore the ,,lord his ,god delivered him into the hand of the king of ,syria2 and they smote him1 and carried away a great multitude of them captives1 and brought them to ,damascus4 ,and he was also delivered into the hand of the king of ,israel1 who smote him with a great slaughter4 #ad3jbh3jjf ,for ,pekah the son of ,remaliah slew in ,judah an hundred and twenty thousand in one day1 which were all valiant men2 because they had forsaken the ,,lord ,god of their fathers4 #ad3jbh3jjg ,and ,zichri1 a mighty man of ,ephraim1 slew ,maaseiah the king's son1 and ,azrikam the governor of the house1 and ,elkanah that was next to the king4 #ad3jbh3jjh ,and the children of ,israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand1 women1 sons1 and daughters1 and took also away much spoil from them1 and brought the spoil to ,samaria4 #ad3jbh3jji ,but a prophet of the ,,lord was there1 whose name was ,oded3 and he went out before the host that came to ,samaria1 and said unto them1 ,behold1 because the ,,lord ,god of your fathers was wroth with ,judah1 he hath delivered them into your hand1 and ye have slain them in a rage that reacheth up unto heaven4 #ad3jbh3jaj ,and now ye purpose to keep under the children of ,judah and ,jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you3 but are there not with you1 even with you1 sins against the ,,lord your ,god8 #ad3jbh3jaa ,now hear me therefore1 and deliver the captives again1 which ye have taken captive of your brethren3 for the fierce wrath of the ,,lord is upon you4 #ad3jbh3jab ,then certain of the heads of the children of ,ephraim1 ,azariah the son of ,johanan1 ,berechiah the son of ,meshillemoth1 and ,jehizkiah the son of ,shallum1 and ,amasa the son of ,hadlai1 stood up against them that came from the war1 #ad3jbh3jac ,and said unto them1 ,ye shall not bring in the captives hither3 for whereas we have offended against the ,,lord already1 ye intend to add more to our sins and to our trespass3 for our trespass is great1 and there is fierce wrath against ,israel4 #ad3jbh3jad ,so the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the princes and all the congregation4 #ad3jbh3jae ,and the men which were expressed by name rose up1 and took the captives1 and with the spoil clothed all that were naked among them1 and arrayed them1 and shod them1 and gave them to eat and to drink1 and anointed them1 and carried all the feeble of them upon asses1 and brought them to ,jericho1 the city of palm trees1 to their brethren3 then they returned to ,samaria4 #ad3jbh3jaf ,at that time did king ,ahaz send unto the kings of ,assyria to help him4 #ad3jbh3jag ,for again the ,edomites had come and smitten ,judah1 and carried away captives4 #ad3jbh3jah ,the ,philistines also had invaded the cities of the low country1 and of the south of ,judah1 and had taken ,bethshemesh1 and ,ajalon1 and ,gederoth1 and ,shocho with the villages thereof1 and ,timnah with the villages thereof1 ,gimzo also and the villages thereof3 and they dwelt there4 #ad3jbh3jai ,for the ,,lord brought ,judah low because of ,ahaz king of ,israel2 for he made ,judah naked1 and transgressed sore against the ,,lord4 #ad3jbh3jbj ,and ,tilgathpilneser king of ,assyria came unto him1 and distressed him1 but strengthened him not4 #ad3jbh3jba ,for ,ahaz took away a portion out of the house of the ,,lord1 and out of the house of the king1 and of the princes1 and gave it unto the king of ,assyria3 but he helped him not4 #ad3jbh3jbb ,and in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the ,,lord3 this is that king ,ahaz4 #ad3jbh3jbc ,for he sacrificed unto the gods of ,damascus1 which smote him3 and he said1 ,because the gods of the kings of ,syria help them1 therefore will ,i sacrifice to them1 that they may help me4 ,but they were the ruin of him1 and of all ,israel4 #ad3jbh3jbd ,and ,ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of ,god1 and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of ,god1 and shut up the doors of the house of the ,,lord1 and he made him altars in every corner of ,jerusalem4 #ad3jbh3jbe ,and in every several city of ,judah he made high places to burn incense unto other gods1 and provoked to anger the ,,lord ,god of his fathers4 #ad3jbh3jbf ,now the rest of his acts and of all his ways1 first and last1 behold1 they are written in the book of the kings of ,judah and ,israel4 #ad3jbh3jbg ,and ,ahaz slept with his fathers1 and they buried him in the city1 even in ,jerusalem3 but they brought him not into the sepulchres of the kings of ,israel3 and ,hezekiah his son reigned in his stead4 #ad3jbi3jja ,hezekiah began to reign when he was five and twenty years old1 and he reigned nine and twenty years in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,abijah1 the daughter of ,zechariah4 #ad3jbi3jjb ,and he did that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord1 according to all that ,david his father had done4 #ad3jbi3jjc ,he in the first year of his reign1 in the first month1 opened the doors of the house of the ,,lord1 and repaired them4 #ad3jbi3jjd ,and he brought in the priests and the ,levites1 and gathered them together into the east street1 #ad3jbi3jje ,and said unto them1 ,hear me1 ye ,levites1 sanctify now yourselves1 and sanctify the house of the ,,lord ,god of your fathers1 and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place4 #ad3jbi3jjf ,for our fathers have trespassed1 and done that which was evil in the eyes of the ,,lord our ,god1 and have forsaken him1 and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the ,,lord1 and turned their backs4 #ad3jbi3jjg ,also they have shut up the doors of the porch1 and put out the lamps1 and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place unto the ,god of ,israel4 #ad3jbi3jjh ,wherefore the wrath of the ,,lord was upon ,judah and ,jerusalem1 and he hath delivered them to trouble1 to astonishment1 and to hissing1 as ye see with your eyes4 #ad3jbi3jji ,for1 lo1 our fathers have fallen by the sword1 and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this4 #ad3jbi3jaj ,now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 that his fierce wrath may turn away from us4 #ad3jbi3jaa ,my sons1 be not now negligent3 for the ,,lord hath chosen you to stand before him1 to serve him1 and that ye should minister unto him1 and burn incense4 #ad3jbi3jab ,then the ,levites arose1 ,mahath the son of ,amasai1 and ,joel the son of ,azariah1 of the sons of the ,kohathites3 and of the sons of ,merari1 ,kish the son of ,abdi1 and ,azariah the son of ,jehalelel3 and of the ,gershonites2 ,joah the son of ,zimmah1 and ,eden the son of ,joah3 #ad3jbi3jac ,and of the sons of ,elizaphan2 ,shimri1 and ,jeiel3 and of the sons of ,asaph2 ,zechariah1 and ,mattaniah3 #ad3jbi3jad ,and of the sons of ,heman2 ,jehiel1 and ,shimei3 and of the sons of ,jeduthun2 ,shemaiah1 and ,uzziel4 #ad3jbi3jae ,and they gathered their brethren1 and sanctified themselves1 and came1 according to the commandment of the king1 by the words of the ,,lord1 to cleanse the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbi3jaf ,and the priests went into the inner part of the house of the ,,lord1 to cleanse it1 and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the ,,lord into the court of the house of the ,,lord4 ,and the ,levites took it1 to carry it out abroad into the brook ,kidron4 #ad3jbi3jag ,now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify1 and on the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of the ,,lord3 so they sanctified the house of the ,,lord in eight days2 and in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end4 #ad3jbi3jah ,then they went in to ,hezekiah the king1 and said1 ,we have cleansed all the house of the ,,lord1 and the altar of burnt offering1 with all the vessels thereof1 and the shewbread table1 with all the vessels thereof4 #ad3jbi3jai ,moreover all the vessels1 which king ,ahaz in his reign did cast away in his transgression1 have we prepared and sanctified1 and1 behold1 they are before the altar of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbi3jbj ,then ,hezekiah the king rose early1 and gathered the rulers of the city1 and went up to the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbi3jba ,and they brought seven bullocks1 and seven rams1 and seven lambs1 and seven he goats1 for a sin offering for the kingdom1 and for the sanctuary1 and for ,judah4 ,and he commanded the priests the sons of ,aaron to offer them on the altar of the ,,lord4 #ad3jbi3jbb ,so they killed the bullocks1 and the priests received the blood1 and sprinkled it on the altar3 likewise1 when they had killed the rams1 they sprinkled the blood upon the altar3 they killed also the lambs1 and they sprinkled the blood upon the altar4 #ad3jbi3jbc ,and they brought forth the he goats for the sin offering before the king and the congregation2 and they laid their hands upon them3 #ad3jbi3jbd ,and the priests killed them1 and they made reconciliation with their blood upon the altar1 to make an atonement for all ,israel3 for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all ,israel4 #ad3jbi3jbe ,and he set the ,levites in the house of the ,,lord with cymbals1 with psalteries1 and with harps1 according to the commandment of ,david1 and of ,gad the king's seer1 and ,nathan the prophet3 for so was the commandment of the ,,lord by his prophets4 #ad3jbi3jbf ,and the ,levites stood with the instruments of ,david1 and the priests with the trumpets4 #ad3jbi3jbg ,and ,hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar4 ,and when the burnt offering began1 the song of the ,,lord began also with the trumpets1 and with the instruments ordained by ,david king of ,israel4 #ad3jbi3jbh ,and all the congregation worshipped1 and the singers sang1 and the trumpeters sounded3 and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished4 #ad3jbi3jbi ,and when they had made an end of offering1 the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves1 and worshipped4 #ad3jbi3jcj ,moreover ,hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the ,levites to sing praise unto the ,,lord with the words of ,david1 and of ,asaph the seer4 ,and they sang praises with gladness1 and they bowed their heads and worshipped4 #ad3jbi3jca ,then ,hezekiah answered and said1 ,now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the ,,lord1 come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the ,,lord4 ,and the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank offerings2 and as many as were of a free heart burnt offerings4 #ad3jbi3jcb ,and the number of the burnt offerings1 which the congregation brought1 was threescore and ten bullocks1 an hundred rams1 and two hundred lambs3 all these were for a burnt offering to the ,,lord4 #ad3jbi3jcc ,and the consecrated things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep4 #ad3jbi3jcd ,but the priests were too few1 so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings3 wherefore their brethren the ,levites did help them1 till the work was ended1 and until the other priests had sanctified themselves3 for the ,levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests4 #ad3jbi3jce ,and also the burnt offerings were in abundance1 with the fat of the peace offerings1 and the drink offerings for every burnt offering4 ,so the service of the house of the ,,lord was set in order4 #ad3jbi3jcf ,and ,hezekiah rejoiced1 and all the people1 that ,god had prepared the people3 for the thing was done suddenly4 #ad3jcj3jja ,and ,hezekiah sent to all ,israel and ,judah1 and wrote letters also to ,ephraim and ,manasseh1 that they should come to the house of the ,,lord at ,jerusalem1 to keep the passover unto the ,,lord ,god of ,israel4 #ad3jcj3jjb ,for the king had taken counsel1 and his princes1 and all the congregation in ,jerusalem1 to keep the passover in the second month4 #ad3jcj3jjc ,for they could not keep it at that time1 because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently1 neither had the people gathered themselves together to ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcj3jjd ,and the thing pleased the king and all the congregation4 #ad3jcj3jje ,so they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all ,israel1 from ,beersheba even to ,dan1 that they should come to keep the passover unto the ,,lord ,god of ,israel at ,jerusalem3 for they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written4 #ad3jcj3jjf ,so the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all ,israel and ,judah1 and according to the commandment of the king1 saying1 ,ye children of ,israel1 turn again unto the ,,lord ,god of ,abraham1 ,isaac1 and ,israel1 and he will return to the remnant of you1 that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of ,assyria4 #ad3jcj3jjg ,and be not ye like your fathers1 and like your brethren1 which trespassed against the ,,lord ,god of their fathers1 who therefore gave them up to desolation1 as ye see4 #ad3jcj3jjh ,now be ye not stiffnecked1 as your fathers were1 but yield yourselves unto the ,,lord1 and enter into his sanctuary1 which he hath sanctified for ever3 and serve the ,,lord your ,god1 that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you4 #ad3jcj3jji ,for if ye turn again unto the ,,lord1 your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive1 so that they shall come again into this land3 for the ,,lord your ,god is gracious and merciful1 and will not turn away his face from you1 if ye return unto him4 #ad3jcj3jaj ,so the posts passed from city to city through the country of ,ephraim and ,manasseh even unto ,zebulun3 but they laughed them to scorn1 and mocked them4 #ad3jcj3jaa ,nevertheless divers of ,asher and ,manasseh and of ,zebulun humbled themselves1 and came to ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcj3jab ,also in ,judah the hand of ,god was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes1 by the word of the ,,lord4 #ad3jcj3jac ,and there assembled at ,jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month1 a very great congregation4 #ad3jcj3jad ,and they arose and took away the altars that were in ,jerusalem1 and all the altars for incense took they away1 and cast them into the brook ,kidron4 #ad3jcj3jae ,then they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month3 and the priests and the ,levites were ashamed1 and sanctified themselves1 and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jcj3jaf ,and they stood in their place after their manner1 according to the law of ,moses the man of ,god3 the priests sprinkled the blood1 which they received of the hand of the ,levites4 #ad3jcj3jag ,for there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified3 therefore the ,levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean1 to sanctify them unto the ,,lord4 #ad3jcj3jah ,for a multitude of the people1 even many of ,ephraim1 and ,manasseh1 ,issachar1 and ,zebulun1 had not cleansed themselves1 yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written4 ,but ,hezekiah prayed for them1 saying1 ,the good ,,lord pardon every one #ad3jcj3jai ,that prepareth his heart to seek ,god1 the ,,lord ,god of his fathers1 though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary4 #ad3jcj3jbj ,and the ,,lord hearkened to ,hezekiah1 and healed the people4 #ad3jcj3jba ,and the children of ,israel that were present at ,jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness3 and the ,levites and the priests praised the ,,lord day by day1 singing with loud instruments unto the ,,lord4 #ad3jcj3jbb ,and ,hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the ,levites that taught the good knowledge of the ,,lord3 and they did eat throughout the feast seven days1 offering peace offerings1 and making confession to the ,,lord ,god of their fathers4 #ad3jcj3jbc ,and the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days3 and they kept other seven days with gladness4 #ad3jcj3jbd ,for ,hezekiah king of ,judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep2 and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep3 and a great number of priests sanctified themselves4 #ad3jcj3jbe ,and all the congregation of ,judah1 with the priests and the ,levites1 and all the congregation that came out of ,israel1 and the strangers that came out of the land of ,israel1 and that dwelt in ,judah1 rejoiced4 #ad3jcj3jbf ,so there was great joy in ,jerusalem3 for since the time of ,solomon the son of ,david king of ,israel there was not the like in ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcj3jbg ,then the priests the ,levites arose and blessed the people3 and their voice was heard1 and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place1 even unto heaven4 #ad3jca3jja ,now when all this was finished1 all ,israel that were present went out to the cities of ,judah1 and brake the images in pieces1 and cut down the groves1 and threw down the high places and the altars out of all ,judah and ,benjamin1 in ,ephraim also and ,manasseh1 until they had utterly destroyed them all4 ,then all the children of ,israel returned1 every man to his possession1 into their own cities4 #ad3jca3jjb ,and ,hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the ,levites after their courses1 every man according to his service1 the priests and ,levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings1 to minister1 and to give thanks1 and to praise in the gates of the tents of the ,,lord4 #ad3jca3jjc ,he appointed also the king's portion of his substance for the burnt offerings1 to wit1 for the morning and evening burnt offerings1 and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths1 and for the new moons1 and for the set feasts1 as it is written in the law of the ,,lord4 #ad3jca3jjd ,moreover he commanded the people that dwelt in ,jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the ,levites1 that they might be encouraged in the law of the ,,lord4 #ad3jca3jje ,and as soon as the commandment came abroad1 the children of ,israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn1 wine1 and oil1 and honey1 and of all the increase of the field2 and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly4 #ad3jca3jjf ,and concerning the children of ,israel and ,judah1 that dwelt in the cities of ,judah1 they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep1 and the tithe of holy things which were consecrated unto the ,,lord their ,god1 and laid them by heaps4 #ad3jca3jjg ,in the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps1 and finished them in the seventh month4 #ad3jca3jjh ,and when ,hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps1 they blessed the ,,lord1 and his people ,israel4 #ad3jca3jji ,then ,hezekiah questioned with the priests and the ,levites concerning the heaps4 #ad3jca3jaj ,and ,azariah the chief priest of the house of ,zadok answered him1 and said1 ,since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the ,,lord1 we have had enough to eat1 and have left plenty3 for the ,,lord hath blessed his people2 and that which is left is this great store4 #ad3jca3jaa ,then ,hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the ,,lord2 and they prepared them1 #ad3jca3jab ,and brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully3 over which ,cononiah the ,levite was ruler1 and ,shimei his brother was the next4 #ad3jca3jac ,and ,jehiel1 and ,azaziah1 and ,nahath1 and ,asahel1 and ,jerimoth1 and ,jozabad1 and ,eliel1 and ,ismachiah1 and ,mahath1 and ,benaiah1 were overseers under the hand of ,cononiah and ,shimei his brother1 at the commandment of ,hezekiah the king1 and ,azariah the ruler of the house of ,god4 #ad3jca3jad ,and ,kore the son of ,imnah the ,levite1 the porter toward the east1 was over the freewill offerings of ,god1 to distribute the oblations of the ,,lord1 and the most holy things4 #ad3jca3jae ,and next him were ,eden1 and ,miniamin1 and ,jeshua1 and ,shemaiah1 ,amariah1 and ,shecaniah1 in the cities of the priests1 in their set office1 to give to their brethren by courses1 as well to the great as to the small3 #ad3jca3jaf ,beside their genealogy of males1 from three years old and upward1 even unto every one that entereth into the house of the ,,lord1 his daily portion for their service in their charges according to their courses2 #ad3jca3jag ,both to the genealogy of the priests by the house of their fathers1 and the ,levites from twenty years old and upward1 in their charges by their courses2 #ad3jca3jah ,and to the genealogy of all their little ones1 their wives1 and their sons1 and their daughters1 through all the congregation3 for in their set office they sanctified themselves in holiness3 #ad3jca3jai ,also of the sons of ,aaron the priests1 which were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities1 in every several city1 the men that were expressed by name1 to give portions to all the males among the priests1 and to all that were reckoned by genealogies among the ,levites4 #ad3jca3jbj ,and thus did ,hezekiah throughout all ,judah1 and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the ,,lord his ,god4 #ad3jca3jba ,and in every work that he began in the service of the house of ,god1 and in the law1 and in the commandments1 to seek his ,god1 he did it with all his heart1 and prospered4 #ad3jcb3jja ,after these things1 and the establishment thereof1 ,sennacherib king of ,assyria came1 and entered into ,judah1 and encamped against the fenced cities1 and thought to win them for himself4 #ad3jcb3jjb ,and when ,hezekiah saw that ,sennacherib was come1 and that he was purposed to fight against ,jerusalem1 #ad3jcb3jjc ,he took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city3 and they did help him4 #ad3jcb3jjd ,so there was gathered much people together1 who stopped all the fountains1 and the brook that ran through the midst of the land1 saying1 ,why should the kings of ,assyria come1 and find much water8 #ad3jcb3jje ,also he strengthened himself1 and built up all the wall that was broken1 and raised it up to the towers1 and another wall without1 and repaired ,millo in the city of ,david1 and made darts and shields in abundance4 #ad3jcb3jjf ,and he set captains of war over the people1 and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city1 and spake comfortably to them1 saying1 #ad3jcb3jjg ,be strong and courageous1 be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of ,assyria1 nor for all the multitude that is with him3 for there be more with us than with him3 #ad3jcb3jjh ,with him is an arm of flesh2 but with us is the ,,lord our ,god to help us1 and to fight our battles4 ,and the people rested themselves upon the words of ,hezekiah king of ,judah4 #ad3jcb3jji ,after this did ,sennacherib king of ,assyria send his servants to ,jerusalem1 7but he himself laid siege against ,lachish1 and all his power with him17 unto ,hezekiah king of ,judah1 and unto all ,judah that were at ,jerusalem1 saying1 #ad3jcb3jaj ,thus saith ,sennacherib king of ,assyria1 ,whereon do ye trust1 that ye abide in the siege in ,jerusalem8 #ad3jcb3jaa ,doth not ,hezekiah persuade you to give over yourselves to die by famine and by thirst1 saying1 ,the ,,lord our ,god shall deliver us out of the hand of the king of ,assyria8 #ad3jcb3jab ,hath not the same ,hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars1 and commanded ,judah and ,jerusalem1 saying1 ,ye shall worship before one altar1 and burn incense upon it8 #ad3jcb3jac ,know ye not what ,i and my fathers have done unto all the people of other lands8 were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand8 #ad3jcb3jad ,who was there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed1 that could deliver his people out of mine hand1 that your ,god should be able to deliver you out of mine hand8 #ad3jcb3jae ,now therefore let not ,hezekiah deceive you1 nor persuade you on this manner1 neither yet believe him3 for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of mine hand1 and out of the hand of my fathers3 how much less shall your ,god deliver you out of mine hand8 #ad3jcb3jaf ,and his servants spake yet more against the ,,lord ,god1 and against his servant ,hezekiah4 #ad3jcb3jag ,he wrote also letters to rail on the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 and to speak against him1 saying1 ,as the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand1 so shall not the ,god of ,hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand4 #ad3jcb3jah ,then they cried with a loud voice in the ,jews' speech unto the people of ,jerusalem that were on the wall1 to affright them1 and to trouble them2 that they might take the city4 #ad3jcb3jai ,and they spake against the ,god of ,jerusalem1 as against the gods of the people of the earth1 which were the work of the hands of man4 #ad3jcb3jbj ,and for this cause ,hezekiah the king1 and the prophet ,isaiah the son of ,amoz1 prayed and cried to heaven4 #ad3jcb3jba ,and the ,,lord sent an angel1 which cut off all the mighty men of valour1 and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of ,assyria4 ,so he returned with shame of face to his own land4 ,and when he was come into the house of his god1 they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword4 #ad3jcb3jbb ,thus the ,,lord saved ,hezekiah and the inhabitants of ,jerusalem from the hand of ,sennacherib the king of ,assyria1 and from the hand of all other1 and guided them on every side4 #ad3jcb3jbc ,and many brought gifts unto the ,,lord to ,jerusalem1 and presents to ,hezekiah king of ,judah3 so that he was magnified in the sight of all nations from thenceforth4 #ad3jcb3jbd ,in those days ,hezekiah was sick to the death1 and prayed unto the ,,lord3 and he spake unto him1 and he gave him a sign4 #ad3jcb3jbe ,but ,hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him2 for his heart was lifted up3 therefore there was wrath upon him1 and upon ,judah and ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcb3jbf ,notwithstanding ,hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart1 both he and the inhabitants of ,jerusalem1 so that the wrath of the ,,lord came not upon them in the days of ,hezekiah4 #ad3jcb3jbg ,and ,hezekiah had exceeding much riches and honour3 and he made himself treasuries for silver1 and for gold1 and for precious stones1 and for spices1 and for shields1 and for all manner of pleasant jewels2 #ad3jcb3jbh ,storehouses also for the increase of corn1 and wine1 and oil2 and stalls for all manner of beasts1 and cotes for flocks4 #ad3jcb3jbi ,moreover he provided him cities1 and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance3 for ,god had given him substance very much4 #ad3jcb3jcj ,this same ,hezekiah also stopped the upper watercourse of ,gihon1 and brought it straight down to the west side of the city of ,david4 ,and ,hezekiah prospered in all his works4 #ad3jcb3jca ,howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of ,babylon1 who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was done in the land1 ,god left him1 to try him1 that he might know all that was in his heart4 #ad3jcb3jcb ,now the rest of the acts of ,hezekiah1 and his goodness1 behold1 they are written in the vision of ,isaiah the prophet1 the son of ,amoz1 and in the book of the kings of ,judah and ,israel4 #ad3jcb3jcc ,and ,hezekiah slept with his fathers1 and they buried him in the chiefest of the sepulchres of the sons of ,david3 and all ,judah and the inhabitants of ,jerusalem did him honour at his death4 ,and ,manasseh his son reigned in his stead4 #ad3jcc3jja ,manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned fifty and five years in ,jerusalem3 #ad3jcc3jjb ,but did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 like unto the abominations of the heathen1 whom the ,,lord had cast out before the children of ,israel4 #ad3jcc3jjc ,for he built again the high places which ,hezekiah his father had broken down1 and he reared up altars for ,baalim1 and made groves1 and worshipped all the host of heaven1 and served them4 #ad3jcc3jjd ,also he built altars in the house of the ,,lord1 whereof the ,,lord had said1 ,in ,jerusalem shall my name be for ever4 #ad3jcc3jje ,and he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jcc3jjf ,and he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of ,hinnom3 also he observed times1 and used enchantments1 and used witchcraft1 and dealt with a familiar spirit1 and with wizards3 he wrought much evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 to provoke him to anger4 #ad3jcc3jjg ,and he set a carved image1 the idol which he had made1 in the house of ,god1 of which ,god had said to ,david and to ,solomon his son1 ,in this house1 and in ,jerusalem1 which ,i have chosen before all the tribes of ,israel1 will ,i put my name for ever3 #ad3jcc3jjh ,neither will ,i any more remove the foot of ,israel from out of the land which ,i have appointed for your fathers2 so that they will take heed to do all that ,i have commanded them1 according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of ,moses4 #ad3jcc3jji ,so ,manasseh made ,judah and the inhabitants of ,jerusalem to err1 and to do worse than the heathen1 whom the ,,lord had destroyed before the children of ,israel4 #ad3jcc3jaj ,and the ,,lord spake to ,manasseh1 and to his people3 but they would not hearken4 #ad3jcc3jaa ,wherefore the ,,lord brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of ,assyria1 which took ,manasseh among the thorns1 and bound him with fetters1 and carried him to ,babylon4 #ad3jcc3jab ,and when he was in affliction1 he besought the ,,lord his ,god1 and humbled himself greatly before the ,god of his fathers1 #ad3jcc3jac ,and prayed unto him3 and he was intreated of him1 and heard his supplication1 and brought him again to ,jerusalem into his kingdom4 ,then ,manasseh knew that the ,,lord he was ,god4 #ad3jcc3jad ,now after this he built a wall without the city of ,david1 on the west side of ,gihon1 in the valley1 even to the entering in at the fish gate1 and compassed about ,ophel1 and raised it up a very great height1 and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of ,judah4 #ad3jcc3jae ,and he took away the strange gods1 and the idol out of the house of the ,,lord1 and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the ,,lord1 and in ,jerusalem1 and cast them out of the city4 #ad3jcc3jaf ,and he repaired the altar of the ,,lord1 and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings1 and commanded ,judah to serve the ,,lord ,god of ,israel4 #ad3jcc3jag ,nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places1 yet unto the ,,lord their ,god only4 #ad3jcc3jah ,now the rest of the acts of ,manasseh1 and his prayer unto his ,god1 and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 behold1 they are written in the book of the kings of ,israel4 #ad3jcc3jai ,his prayer also1 and how ,god was intreated of him1 and all his sins1 and his trespass1 and the places wherein he built high places1 and set up groves and graven images1 before he was humbled3 behold1 they are written among the sayings of the seers4 #ad3jcc3jbj ,so ,manasseh slept with his fathers1 and they buried him in his own house3 and ,amon his son reigned in his stead4 #ad3jcc3jba ,amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign1 and reigned two years in ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcc3jbb ,but he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 as did ,manasseh his father3 for ,amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which ,manasseh his father had made1 and served them2 #ad3jcc3jbc ,and humbled not himself before the ,,lord1 as ,manasseh his father had humbled himself2 but ,amon trespassed more and more4 #ad3jcc3jbd ,and his servants conspired against him1 and slew him in his own house4 #ad3jcc3jbe ,but the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king ,amon2 and the people of the land made ,josiah his son king in his stead4 #ad3jcd3jja ,josiah was eight years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned in ,jerusalem one and thirty years4 #ad3jcd3jjb ,and he did that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord1 and walked in the ways of ,david his father1 and declined neither to the right hand1 nor to the left4 #ad3jcd3jjc ,for in the eighth year of his reign1 while he was yet young1 he began to seek after the ,god of ,david his father3 and in the twelfth year he began to purge ,judah and ,jerusalem from the high places1 and the groves1 and the carved images1 and the molten images4 #ad3jcd3jjd ,and they brake down the altars of ,baalim in his presence2 and the images1 that were on high above them1 he cut down2 and the groves1 and the carved images1 and the molten images1 he brake in pieces1 and made dust of them1 and strowed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them4 #ad3jcd3jje ,and he burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars1 and cleansed ,judah and ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcd3jjf ,and so did he in the cities of ,manasseh1 and ,ephraim1 and ,simeon1 even unto ,naphtali1 with their mattocks round about4 #ad3jcd3jjg ,and when he had broken down the altars and the groves1 and had beaten the graven images into powder1 and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of ,israel1 he returned to ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcd3jjh ,now in the eighteenth year of his reign1 when he had purged the land1 and the house1 he sent ,shaphan the son of ,azaliah1 and ,maaseiah the governor of the city1 and ,joah the son of ,joahaz the recorder1 to repair the house of the ,,lord his ,god4 #ad3jcd3jji ,and when they came to ,hilkiah the high priest1 they delivered the money that was brought into the house of ,god1 which the ,levites that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of ,manasseh and ,ephraim1 and of all the remnant of ,israel1 and of all ,judah and ,benjamin2 and they returned to ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcd3jaj ,and they put it in the hand of the workmen that had the oversight of the house of the ,,lord1 and they gave it to the workmen that wrought in the house of the ,,lord1 to repair and amend the house3 #ad3jcd3jaa ,even to the artificers and builders gave they it1 to buy hewn stone1 and timber for couplings1 and to floor the houses which the kings of ,judah had destroyed4 #ad3jcd3jab ,and the men did the work faithfully3 and the overseers of them were ,jahath and ,obadiah1 the ,levites1 of the sons of ,merari2 and ,zechariah and ,meshullam1 of the sons of the ,kohathites1 to set it forward2 and other of the ,levites1 all that could skill of instruments of musick4 #ad3jcd3jac ,also they were over the bearers of burdens1 and were overseers of all that wrought the work in any manner of service3 and of the ,levites there were scribes1 and officers1 and porters4 #ad3jcd3jad ,and when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the ,,lord1 ,hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the ,,lord given by ,moses4 #ad3jcd3jae ,and ,hilkiah answered and said to ,shaphan the scribe1 ,i have found the book of the law in the house of the ,,lord4 ,and ,hilkiah delivered the book to ,shaphan4 #ad3jcd3jaf ,and ,shaphan carried the book to the king1 and brought the king word back again1 saying1 ,all that was committed to thy servants1 they do it4 #ad3jcd3jag ,and they have gathered together the money that was found in the house of the ,,lord1 and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers1 and to the hand of the workmen4 #ad3jcd3jah ,then ,shaphan the scribe told the king1 saying1 ,hilkiah the priest hath given me a book4 ,and ,shaphan read it before the king4 #ad3jcd3jai ,and it came to pass1 when the king had heard the words of the law1 that he rent his clothes4 #ad3jcd3jbj ,and the king commanded ,hilkiah1 and ,ahikam the son of ,shaphan1 and ,abdon the son of ,micah1 and ,shaphan the scribe1 and ,asaiah a servant of the king's1 saying1 #ad3jcd3jba ,go1 enquire of the ,,lord for me1 and for them that are left in ,israel and in ,judah1 concerning the words of the book that is found3 for great is the wrath of the ,,lord that is poured out upon us1 because our fathers have not kept the word of the ,,lord1 to do after all that is written in this book4 #ad3jcd3jbb ,and ,hilkiah1 and they that the king had appointed1 went to ,huldah the prophetess1 the wife of ,shallum the son of ,tikvath1 the son of ,hasrah1 keeper of the wardrobe2 7now she dwelt in ,jerusalem in the college37 and they spake to her to that effect4 #ad3jcd3jbc ,and she answered them1 ,thus saith the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 ,tell ye the man that sent you to me1 #ad3jcd3jbd ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,behold1 ,i will bring evil upon this place1 and upon the inhabitants thereof1 even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of ,judah3 #ad3jcd3jbe ,because they have forsaken me1 and have burned incense unto other gods1 that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands2 therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place1 and shall not be quenched4 #ad3jcd3jbf ,and as for the king of ,judah1 who sent you to enquire of the ,,lord1 so shall ye say unto him1 ,thus saith the ,,lord ,god of ,israel concerning the words which thou hast heard2 #ad3jcd3jbg ,because thine heart was tender1 and thou didst humble thyself before ,god1 when thou heardest his words against this place1 and against the inhabitants thereof1 and humbledst thyself before me1 and didst rend thy clothes1 and weep before me2 ,i have even heard thee also1 saith the ,,lord4 #ad3jcd3jbh ,behold1 ,i will gather thee to thy fathers1 and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace1 neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that ,i will bring upon this place1 and upon the inhabitants of the same4 ,so they brought the king word again4 #ad3jcd3jbi ,then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of ,judah and ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcd3jcj ,and the king went up into the house of the ,,lord1 and all the men of ,judah1 and the inhabitants of ,jerusalem1 and the priests1 and the ,levites1 and all the people1 great and small3 and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the ,,lord4 #ad3jcd3jca ,and the king stood in his place1 and made a covenant before the ,,lord1 to walk after the ,,lord1 and to keep his commandments1 and his testimonies1 and his statutes1 with all his heart1 and with all his soul1 to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book4 #ad3jcd3jcb ,and he caused all that were present in ,jerusalem and ,benjamin to stand to it4 ,and the inhabitants of ,jerusalem did according to the covenant of ,god1 the ,god of their fathers4 #ad3jcd3jcc ,and ,josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of ,israel1 and made all that were present in ,israel to serve1 even to serve the ,,lord their ,god4 ,and all his days they departed not from following the ,,lord1 the ,god of their fathers4 #ad3jce3jja ,moreover ,josiah kept a passover unto the ,,lord in ,jerusalem3 and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month4 #ad3jce3jjb ,and he set the priests in their charges1 and encouraged them to the service of the house of the ,,lord1 #ad3jce3jjc ,and said unto the ,levites that taught all ,israel1 which were holy unto the ,,lord1 ,put the holy ark in the house which ,solomon the son of ,david king of ,israel did build2 it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders3 serve now the ,,lord your ,god1 and his people ,israel1 #ad3jce3jjd ,and prepare yourselves by the houses of your fathers1 after your courses1 according to the writing of ,david king of ,israel1 and according to the writing of ,solomon his son4 #ad3jce3jje ,and stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the fathers of your brethren the people1 and after the division of the families of the ,levites4 #ad3jce3jjf ,so kill the passover1 and sanctify yourselves1 and prepare your brethren1 that they may do according to the word of the ,,lord by the hand of ,moses4 #ad3jce3jjg ,and ,josiah gave to the people1 of the flock1 lambs and kids1 all for the passover offerings1 for all that were present1 to the number of thirty thousand1 and three thousand bullocks3 these were of the king's substance4 #ad3jce3jjh ,and his princes gave willingly unto the people1 to the priests1 and to the ,levites3 ,hilkiah and ,zechariah and ,jehiel1 rulers of the house of ,god1 gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle and three hundred oxen4 #ad3jce3jji ,conaniah also1 and ,shemaiah and ,nethaneel1 his brethren1 and ,hashabiah and ,jeiel and ,jozabad1 chief of the ,levites1 gave unto the ,levites for passover offerings five thousand small cattle1 and five hundred oxen4 #ad3jce3jaj ,so the service was prepared1 and the priests stood in their place1 and the ,levites in their courses1 according to the king's commandment4 #ad3jce3jaa ,and they killed the passover1 and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands1 and the ,levites flayed them4 #ad3jce3jab ,and they removed the burnt offerings1 that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people1 to offer unto the ,,lord1 as it is written in the book of ,moses4 ,and so did they with the oxen4 #ad3jce3jac ,and they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance3 but the other holy offerings sod they in pots1 and in caldrons1 and in pans1 and divided them speedily among all the people4 #ad3jce3jad ,and afterward they made ready for themselves1 and for the priests3 because the priests the sons of ,aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night2 therefore the ,levites prepared for themselves1 and for the priests the sons of ,aaron4 #ad3jce3jae ,and the singers the sons of ,asaph were in their place1 according to the commandment of ,david1 and ,asaph1 and ,heman1 and ,jeduthun the king's seer2 and the porters waited at every gate2 they might not depart from their service2 for their brethren the ,levites prepared for them4 #ad3jce3jaf ,so all the service of the ,,lord was prepared the same day1 to keep the passover1 and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the ,,lord1 according to the commandment of king ,josiah4 #ad3jce3jag ,and the children of ,israel that were present kept the passover at that time1 and the feast of unleavened bread seven days4 #ad3jce3jah ,and there was no passover like to that kept in ,israel from the days of ,samuel the prophet2 neither did all the kings of ,israel keep such a passover as ,josiah kept1 and the priests1 and the ,levites1 and all ,judah and ,israel that were present1 and the inhabitants of ,jerusalem4 #ad3jce3jai ,in the eighteenth year of the reign of ,josiah was this passover kept4 #ad3jce3jbj ,after all this1 when ,josiah had prepared the temple1 ,necho king of ,egypt came up to fight against ,charchemish by ,euphrates3 and ,josiah went out against him4 #ad3jce3jba ,but he sent ambassadors to him1 saying1 ,what have ,i to do with thee1 thou king of ,judah8 ,i come not against thee this day1 but against the house wherewith ,i have war3 for ,god commanded me to make haste3 forbear thee from meddling with ,god1 who is with me1 that he destroy thee not4 #ad3jce3jbb ,nevertheless ,josiah would not turn his face from him1 but disguised himself1 that he might fight with him1 and hearkened not unto the words of ,necho from the mouth of ,god1 and came to fight in the valley of ,megiddo4 #ad3jce3jbc ,and the archers shot at king ,josiah2 and the king said to his servants1 ,have me away2 for ,i am sore wounded4 #ad3jce3jbd ,his servants therefore took him out of that chariot1 and put him in the second chariot that he had2 and they brought him to ,jerusalem1 and he died1 and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers4 ,and all ,judah and ,jerusalem mourned for ,josiah4 #ad3jce3jbe ,and ,jeremiah lamented for ,josiah3 and all the singing men and the singing women spake of ,josiah in their lamentations to this day1 and made them an ordinance in ,israel3 and1 behold1 they are written in the lamentations4 #ad3jce3jbf ,now the rest of the acts of ,josiah1 and his goodness1 according to that which was written in the law of the ,,lord1 #ad3jce3jbg ,and his deeds1 first and last1 behold1 they are written in the book of the kings of ,israel and ,judah4 #ad3jcf3jja ,then the people of the land took ,jehoahaz the son of ,josiah1 and made him king in his father's stead in ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcf3jjb ,jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned three months in ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcf3jjc ,and the king of ,egypt put him down at ,jerusalem1 and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold4 #ad3jcf3jjd ,and the king of ,egypt made ,eliakim his brother king over ,judah and ,jerusalem1 and turned his name to ,jehoiakim4 ,and ,necho took ,jehoahaz his brother1 and carried him to ,egypt4 #ad3jcf3jje ,jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned eleven years in ,jerusalem3 and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord his ,god4 #ad3jcf3jjf ,against him came up ,nebuchadnezzar king of ,babylon1 and bound him in fetters1 to carry him to ,babylon4 #ad3jcf3jjg ,nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the ,,lord to ,babylon1 and put them in his temple at ,babylon4 #ad3jcf3jjh ,now the rest of the acts of ,jehoiakim1 and his abominations which he did1 and that which was found in him1 behold1 they are written in the book of the kings of ,israel and ,judah3 and ,jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead4 #ad3jcf3jji ,jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned three months and ten days in ,jerusalem3 and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord4 #ad3jcf3jaj ,and when the year was expired1 king ,nebuchadnezzar sent1 and brought him to ,babylon1 with the goodly vessels of the house of the ,,lord1 and made ,zedekiah his brother king over ,judah and ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcf3jaa ,zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign1 and reigned eleven years in ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcf3jab ,and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord his ,god1 and humbled not himself before ,jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the ,,lord4 #ad3jcf3jac ,and he also rebelled against king ,nebuchadnezzar1 who had made him swear by ,god3 but he stiffened his neck1 and hardened his heart from turning unto the ,,lord ,god of ,israel4 #ad3jcf3jad ,moreover all the chief of the priests1 and the people1 transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen2 and polluted the house of the ,,lord which he had hallowed in ,jerusalem4 #ad3jcf3jae ,and the ,,lord ,god of their fathers sent to them by his messengers1 rising up betimes1 and sending2 because he had compassion on his people1 and on his dwelling place3 #ad3jcf3jaf ,but they mocked the messengers of ,god1 and despised his words1 and misused his prophets1 until the wrath of the ,,lord arose against his people1 till there was no remedy4 #ad3jcf3jag ,therefore he brought upon them the king of the ,chaldees1 who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary1 and had no compassion upon young man or maiden1 old man1 or him that stooped for age3 he gave them all into his hand4 #ad3jcf3jah ,and all the vessels of the house of ,god1 great and small1 and the treasures of the house of the ,,lord1 and the treasures of the king1 and of his princes2 all these he brought to ,babylon4 #ad3jcf3jai ,and they burnt the house of ,god1 and brake down the wall of ,jerusalem1 and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire1 and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof4 #ad3jcf3jbj ,and them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to ,babylon2 where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of ,persia3 #ad3jcf3jba ,to fulfil the word of the ,,lord by the mouth of ,jeremiah1 until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths3 for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath1 to fulfil threescore and ten years4 #ad3jcf3jbb ,now in the first year of ,cyrus king of ,persia1 that the word of the ,,lord spoken by the mouth of ,jeremiah might be accomplished1 the ,,lord stirred up the spirit of ,cyrus king of ,persia1 that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom1 and put it also in writing1 saying1 #ad3jcf3jbc ,thus saith ,cyrus king of ,persia1 ,all the kingdoms of the earth hath the ,,lord ,god of heaven given me2 and he hath charged me to build him an house in ,jerusalem1 which is in ,judah4 ,who is there among you of all his people8 ,the ,,lord his ,god be with him1 and let him go up4
