,this e,book was produced by ,david ,widger with the help of ,derek ,andrew's text from ,january #aiib and the work of ,bryan ,taylor in ,november #bjjb4 ,book #ab #b ,kings #ab3jja3jja ,then ,moab rebelled against ,israel after the death of ,ahab4 #ab3jja3jjb ,and ,ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in ,samaria1 and was sick3 and he sent messengers1 and said unto them1 ,go1 enquire of ,baalzebub the god of ,ekron whether ,i shall recover of this disease4 #ab3jja3jjc ,but the angel of the ,,lord said to ,elijah the ,tishbite1 ,arise1 go up to meet the messengers of the king of ,samaria1 and say unto them1 ,is it not because there is not a ,god in ,israel1 that ye go to enquire of ,baalzebub the god of ,ekron8 #ab3jja3jjd ,now therefore thus saith the ,,lord1 ,thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up1 but shalt surely die4 ,and ,elijah departed4 #ab3jja3jje ,and when the messengers turned back unto him1 he said unto them1 ,why are ye now turned back8 #ab3jja3jjf ,and they said unto him1 ,there came a man up to meet us1 and said unto us1 ,go1 turn again unto the king that sent you1 and say unto him1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,is it not because there is not a ,god in ,israel1 that thou sendest to enquire of ,baalzebub the god of ,ekron8 therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up1 but shalt surely die4 #ab3jja3jjg ,and he said unto them1 ,what manner of man was he which came up to meet you1 and told you these words8 #ab3jja3jjh ,and they answered him1 ,he was an hairy man1 and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins4 ,and he said1 ,it is ,elijah the ,tishbite4 #ab3jja3jji ,then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty4 ,and he went up to him3 and1 behold1 he sat on the top of an hill4 ,and he spake unto him1 ,thou man of ,god1 the king hath said1 ,come down4 #ab3jja3jaj ,and ,elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty1 ,if ,i be a man of ,god1 then let fire come down from heaven1 and consume thee and thy fifty4 ,and there came down fire from heaven1 and consumed him and his fifty4 #ab3jja3jaa ,again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty4 ,and he answered and said unto him1 ,o man of ,god1 thus hath the king said1 ,come down quickly4 #ab3jja3jab ,and ,elijah answered and said unto them1 ,if ,i be a man of ,god1 let fire come down from heaven1 and consume thee and thy fifty4 ,and the fire of ,god came down from heaven1 and consumed him and his fifty4 #ab3jja3jac ,and he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty4 ,and the third captain of fifty went up1 and came and fell on his knees before ,elijah1 and besought him1 and said unto him1 ,o man of ,god1 ,i pray thee1 let my life1 and the life of these fifty thy servants1 be precious in thy sight4 #ab3jja3jad ,behold1 there came fire down from heaven1 and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties3 therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight4 #ab3jja3jae ,and the angel of the ,,lord said unto ,elijah1 ,go down with him3 be not afraid of him4 ,and he arose1 and went down with him unto the king4 #ab3jja3jaf ,and he said unto him1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of ,baalzebub the god of ,ekron1 is it not because there is no ,god in ,israel to enquire of his word8 therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up1 but shalt surely die4 #ab3jja3jag ,so he died according to the word of the ,,lord which ,elijah had spoken4 ,and ,jehoram reigned in his stead in the second year of ,jehoram the son of ,jehoshaphat king of ,judah2 because he had no son4 #ab3jja3jah ,now the rest of the acts of ,ahaziah which he did1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,israel8 #ab3jjb3jja ,and it came to pass1 when the ,,lord would take up ,elijah into heaven by a whirlwind1 that ,elijah went with ,elisha from ,gilgal4 #ab3jjb3jjb ,and ,elijah said unto ,elisha1 ,tarry here1 ,i pray thee2 for the ,,lord hath sent me to ,bethel4 ,and ,elisha said unto him1 ,as the ,,lord liveth1 and as thy soul liveth1 ,i will not leave thee4 ,so they went down to ,bethel4 #ab3jjb3jjc ,and the sons of the prophets that were at ,bethel came forth to ,elisha1 and said unto him1 ,knowest thou that the ,,lord will take away thy master from thy head to day8 ,and he said1 ,yea1 ,i know it2 hold ye your peace4 #ab3jjb3jjd ,and ,elijah said unto him1 ,elisha1 tarry here1 ,i pray thee2 for the ,,lord hath sent me to ,jericho4 ,and he said1 ,as the ,,lord liveth1 and as thy soul liveth1 ,i will not leave thee4 ,so they came to ,jericho4 #ab3jjb3jje ,and the sons of the prophets that were at ,jericho came to ,elisha1 and said unto him1 ,knowest thou that the ,,lord will take away thy master from thy head to day8 ,and he answered1 ,yea1 ,i know it2 hold ye your peace4 #ab3jjb3jjf ,and ,elijah said unto him1 ,tarry1 ,i pray thee1 here2 for the ,,lord hath sent me to ,jordan4 ,and he said1 ,as the ,,lord liveth1 and as thy soul liveth1 ,i will not leave thee4 ,and they two went on4 #ab3jjb3jjg ,and fifty men of the sons of the prophets went1 and stood to view afar off3 and they two stood by ,jordan4 #ab3jjb3jjh ,and ,elijah took his mantle1 and wrapped it together1 and smote the waters1 and they were divided hither and thither1 so that they two went over on dry ground4 #ab3jjb3jji ,and it came to pass1 when they were gone over1 that ,elijah said unto ,elisha1 ,ask what ,i shall do for thee1 before ,i be taken away from thee4 ,and ,elisha said1 ,i pray thee1 let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me4 #ab3jjb3jaj ,and he said1 ,thou hast asked a hard thing3 nevertheless1 if thou see me when ,i am taken from thee1 it shall be so unto thee2 but if not1 it shall not be so4 #ab3jjb3jaa ,and it came to pass1 as they still went on1 and talked1 that1 behold1 there appeared a chariot of fire1 and horses of fire1 and parted them both asunder2 and ,elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven4 #ab3jjb3jab ,and ,elisha saw it1 and he cried1 ,my father1 my father1 the chariot of ,israel1 and the horsemen thereof4 ,and he saw him no more3 and he took hold of his own clothes1 and rent them in two pieces4 #ab3jjb3jac ,he took up also the mantle of ,elijah that fell from him1 and went back1 and stood by the bank of ,jordan2 #ab3jjb3jad ,and he took the mantle of ,elijah that fell from him1 and smote the waters1 and said1 ,where is the ,,lord ,god of ,elijah8 and when he also had smitten the waters1 they parted hither and thither3 and ,elisha went over4 #ab3jjb3jae ,and when the sons of the prophets which were to view at ,jericho saw him1 they said1 ,the spirit of ,elijah doth rest on ,elisha4 ,and they came to meet him1 and bowed themselves to the ground before him4 #ab3jjb3jaf ,and they said unto him1 ,behold now1 there be with thy servants fifty strong men2 let them go1 we pray thee1 and seek thy master3 lest peradventure the ,spirit of the ,,lord hath taken him up1 and cast him upon some mountain1 or into some valley4 ,and he said1 ,ye shall not send4 #ab3jjb3jag ,and when they urged him till he was ashamed1 he said1 ,send4 ,they sent therefore fifty men2 and they sought three days1 but found him not4 #ab3jjb3jah ,and when they came again to him1 7for he tarried at ,jericho17 he said unto them1 ,did ,i not say unto you1 ,go not8 #ab3jjb3jai ,and the men of the city said unto ,elisha1 ,behold1 ,i pray thee1 the situation of this city is pleasant1 as my lord seeth3 but the water is naught1 and the ground barren4 #ab3jjb3jbj ,and he said1 ,bring me a new cruse1 and put salt therein4 ,and they brought it to him4 #ab3jjb3jba ,and he went forth unto the spring of the waters1 and cast the salt in there1 and said1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,i have healed these waters2 there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land4 #ab3jjb3jbb ,so the waters were healed unto this day1 according to the saying of ,elisha which he spake4 #ab3jjb3jbc ,and he went up from thence unto ,bethel3 and as he was going up by the way1 there came forth little children out of the city1 and mocked him1 and said unto him1 ,go up1 thou bald head2 go up1 thou bald head4 #ab3jjb3jbd ,and he turned back1 and looked on them1 and cursed them in the name of the ,,lord4 ,and there came forth two she bears out of the wood1 and tare forty and two children of them4 #ab3jjb3jbe ,and he went from thence to mount ,carmel1 and from thence he returned to ,samaria4 #ab3jjc3jja ,now ,jehoram the son of ,ahab began to reign over ,israel in ,samaria the eighteenth year of ,jehoshaphat king of ,judah1 and reigned twelve years4 #ab3jjc3jjb ,and he wrought evil in the sight of the ,,lord2 but not like his father1 and like his mother3 for he put away the image of ,baal that his father had made4 #ab3jjc3jjc ,nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 which made ,israel to sin2 he departed not therefrom4 #ab3jjc3jjd ,and ,mesha king of ,moab was a sheepmaster1 and rendered unto the king of ,israel an hundred thousand lambs1 and an hundred thousand rams1 with the wool4 #ab3jjc3jje ,but it came to pass1 when ,ahab was dead1 that the king of ,moab rebelled against the king of ,israel4 #ab3jjc3jjf ,and king ,jehoram went out of ,samaria the same time1 and numbered all ,israel4 #ab3jjc3jjg ,and he went and sent to ,jehoshaphat the king of ,judah1 saying1 ,the king of ,moab hath rebelled against me3 wilt thou go with me against ,moab to battle8 ,and he said1 ,i will go up3 ,i am as thou art1 my people as thy people1 and my horses as thy horses4 #ab3jjc3jjh ,and he said1 ,which way shall we go up8 ,and he answered1 ,the way through the wilderness of ,edom4 #ab3jjc3jji ,so the king of ,israel went1 and the king of ,judah1 and the king of ,edom3 and they fetched a compass of seven days' journey3 and there was no water for the host1 and for the cattle that followed them4 #ab3jjc3jaj ,and the king of ,israel said1 ,alas6 that the ,,lord hath called these three kings together1 to deliver them into the hand of ,moab6 #ab3jjc3jaa ,but ,jehoshaphat said1 ,is there not here a prophet of the ,,lord1 that we may enquire of the ,,lord by him8 ,and one of the king of ,israel's servants answered and said1 ,here is ,elisha the son of ,shaphat1 which poured water on the hands of ,elijah4 #ab3jjc3jab ,and ,jehoshaphat said1 ,the word of the ,,lord is with him4 ,so the king of ,israel and ,jehoshaphat and the king of ,edom went down to him4 #ab3jjc3jac ,and ,elisha said unto the king of ,israel1 ,what have ,i to do with thee8 get thee to the prophets of thy father1 and to the prophets of thy mother4 ,and the king of ,israel said unto him1 ,nay3 for the ,,lord hath called these three kings together1 to deliver them into the hand of ,moab4 #ab3jjc3jad ,and ,elisha said1 ,as the ,,lord of hosts liveth1 before whom ,i stand1 surely1 were it not that ,i regard the presence of ,jehoshaphat the king of ,judah1 ,i would not look toward thee1 nor see thee4 #ab3jjc3jae ,but now bring me a minstrel4 ,and it came to pass1 when the minstrel played1 that the hand of the ,,lord came upon him4 #ab3jjc3jaf ,and he said1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,make this valley full of ditches4 #ab3jjc3jag ,for thus saith the ,,lord1 ,ye shall not see wind1 neither shall ye see rain2 yet that valley shall be filled with water1 that ye may drink1 both ye1 and your cattle1 and your beasts4 #ab3jjc3jah ,and this is but a light thing in the sight of the ,,lord3 he will deliver the ,moabites also into your hand4 #ab3jjc3jai ,and ye shall smite every fenced city1 and every choice city1 and shall fell every good tree1 and stop all wells of water1 and mar every good piece of land with stones4 #ab3jjc3jbj ,and it came to pass in the morning1 when the meat offering was offered1 that1 behold1 there came water by the way of ,edom1 and the country was filled with water4 #ab3jjc3jba ,and when all the ,moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them1 they gathered all that were able to put on armour1 and upward1 and stood in the border4 #ab3jjc3jbb ,and they rose up early in the morning1 and the sun shone upon the water1 and the ,moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood3 #ab3jjc3jbc ,and they said1 ,this is blood3 the kings are surely slain1 and they have smitten one another3 now therefore1 ,moab1 to the spoil4 #ab3jjc3jbd ,and when they came to the camp of ,israel1 the ,israelites rose up and smote the ,moabites1 so that they fled before them3 but they went forward smiting the ,moabites1 even in their country4 #ab3jjc3jbe ,and they beat down the cities1 and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone1 and filled it2 and they stopped all the wells of water1 and felled all the good trees3 only in ,kirharaseth left they the stones thereof2 howbeit the slingers went about it1 and smote it4 #ab3jjc3jbf ,and when the king of ,moab saw that the battle was too sore for him1 he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords1 to break through even unto the king of ,edom3 but they could not4 #ab3jjc3jbg ,then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead1 and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall4 ,and there was great indignation against ,israel3 and they departed from him1 and returned to their own land4 #ab3jjd3jja ,now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto ,elisha1 saying1 ,thy servant my husband is dead2 and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the ,,lord3 and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen4 #ab3jjd3jjb ,and ,elisha said unto her1 ,what shall ,i do for thee8 tell me1 what hast thou in the house8 ,and she said1 ,thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house1 save a pot of oil4 #ab3jjd3jjc ,then he said1 ,go1 borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours1 even empty vessels2 borrow not a few4 #ab3jjd3jjd ,and when thou art come in1 thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons1 and shalt pour out into all those vessels1 and thou shalt set aside that which is full4 #ab3jjd3jje ,so she went from him1 and shut the door upon her and upon her sons1 who brought the vessels to her2 and she poured out4 #ab3jjd3jjf ,and it came to pass1 when the vessels were full1 that she said unto her son1 ,bring me yet a vessel4 ,and he said unto her1 ,there is not a vessel more4 ,and the oil stayed4 #ab3jjd3jjg ,then she came and told the man of ,god4 ,and he said1 ,go1 sell the oil1 and pay thy debt1 and live thou and thy children of the rest4 #ab3jjd3jjh ,and it fell on a day1 that ,elisha passed to ,shunem1 where was a great woman2 and she constrained him to eat bread4 ,and so it was1 that as oft as he passed by1 he turned in thither to eat bread4 #ab3jjd3jji ,and she said unto her husband1 ,behold now1 ,i perceive that this is an holy man of ,god1 which passeth by us continually4 #ab3jjd3jaj ,let us make a little chamber1 ,i pray thee1 on the wall2 and let us set for him there a bed1 and a table1 and a stool1 and a candlestick3 and it shall be1 when he cometh to us1 that he shall turn in thither4 #ab3jjd3jaa ,and it fell on a day1 that he came thither1 and he turned into the chamber1 and lay there4 #ab3jjd3jab ,and he said to ,gehazi his servant1 ,call this ,shunammite4 ,and when he had called her1 she stood before him4 #ab3jjd3jac ,and he said unto him1 ,say now unto her1 ,behold1 thou hast been careful for us with all this care2 what is to be done for thee8 wouldest thou be spoken for to the king1 or to the captain of the host8 ,and she answered1 ,i dwell among mine own people4 #ab3jjd3jad ,and he said1 ,what then is to be done for her8 ,and ,gehazi answered1 ,verily she hath no child1 and her husband is old4 #ab3jjd3jae ,and he said1 ,call her4 ,and when he had called her1 she stood in the door4 #ab3jjd3jaf ,and he said1 ,about this season1 according to the time of life1 thou shalt embrace a son4 ,and she said1 ,nay1 my lord1 thou man of ,god1 do not lie unto thine handmaid4 #ab3jjd3jag ,and the woman conceived1 and bare a son at that season that ,elisha had said unto her1 according to the time of life4 #ab3jjd3jah ,and when the child was grown1 it fell on a day1 that he went out to his father to the reapers4 #ab3jjd3jai ,and he said unto his father1 ,my head1 my head4 ,and he said to a lad1 ,carry him to his mother4 #ab3jjd3jbj ,and when he had taken him1 and brought him to his mother1 he sat on her knees till noon1 and then died4 #ab3jjd3jba ,and she went up1 and laid him on the bed of the man of ,god1 and shut the door upon him1 and went out4 #ab3jjd3jbb ,and she called unto her husband1 and said1 ,send me1 ,i pray thee1 one of the young men1 and one of the asses1 that ,i may run to the man of ,god1 and come again4 #ab3jjd3jbc ,and he said1 ,wherefore wilt thou go to him to day8 it is neither new moon1 nor sabbath4 ,and she said1 ,it shall be well4 #ab3jjd3jbd ,then she saddled an ass1 and said to her servant1 ,drive1 and go forward2 slack not thy riding for me1 except ,i bid thee4 #ab3jjd3jbe ,so she went and came unto the man of ,god to mount ,carmel4 ,and it came to pass1 when the man of ,god saw her afar off1 that he said to ,gehazi his servant1 ,behold1 yonder is that ,shunammite3 #ab3jjd3jbf ,run now1 ,i pray thee1 to meet her1 and say unto her1 ,is it well with thee8 is it well with thy husband8 is it well with the child8 ,and she answered1 ,it is well3 #ab3jjd3jbg ,and when she came to the man of ,god to the hill1 she caught him by the feet3 but ,gehazi came near to thrust her away4 ,and the man of ,god said1 ,let her alone2 for her soul is vexed within her3 and the ,,lord hath hid it from me1 and hath not told me4 #ab3jjd3jbh ,then she said1 ,did ,i desire a son of my lord8 did ,i not say1 ,do not deceive me8 #ab3jjd3jbi ,then he said to ,gehazi1 ,gird up thy loins1 and take my staff in thine hand1 and go thy way3 if thou meet any man1 salute him not2 and if any salute thee1 answer him not again3 and lay my staff upon the face of the child4 #ab3jjd3jcj ,and the mother of the child said1 ,as the ,,lord liveth1 and as thy soul liveth1 ,i will not leave thee4 ,and he arose1 and followed her4 #ab3jjd3jca ,and ,gehazi passed on before them1 and laid the staff upon the face of the child2 but there was neither voice1 nor hearing4 ,wherefore he went again to meet him1 and told him1 saying1 ,the child is not awaked4 #ab3jjd3jcb ,and when ,elisha was come into the house1 behold1 the child was dead1 and laid upon his bed4 #ab3jjd3jcc ,he went in therefore1 and shut the door upon them twain1 and prayed unto the ,,lord4 #ab3jjd3jcd ,and he went up1 and lay upon the child1 and put his mouth upon his mouth1 and his eyes upon his eyes1 and his hands upon his hands3 and stretched himself upon the child2 and the flesh of the child waxed warm4 #ab3jjd3jce ,then he returned1 and walked in the house to and fro2 and went up1 and stretched himself upon him3 and the child sneezed seven times1 and the child opened his eyes4 #ab3jjd3jcf ,and he called ,gehazi1 and said1 ,call this ,shunammite4 ,so he called her4 ,and when she was come in unto him1 he said1 ,take up thy son4 #ab3jjd3jcg ,then she went in1 and fell at his feet1 and bowed herself to the ground1 and took up her son1 and went out4 #ab3jjd3jch ,and ,elisha came again to ,gilgal3 and there was a dearth in the land2 and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him3 and he said unto his servant1 ,set on the great pot1 and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets4 #ab3jjd3jci ,and one went out into the field to gather herbs1 and found a wild vine1 and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full1 and came and shred them into the pot of pottage3 for they knew them not4 #ab3jjd3jdj ,so they poured out for the men to eat4 ,and it came to pass1 as they were eating of the pottage1 that they cried out1 and said1 ,o thou man of ,god1 there is death in the pot4 ,and they could not eat thereof4 #ab3jjd3jda ,but he said1 ,then bring meal4 ,and he cast it into the pot2 and he said1 ,pour out for the people1 that they may eat4 ,and there was no harm in the pot4 #ab3jjd3jdb ,and there came a man from ,baalshalisha1 and brought the man of ,god bread of the firstfruits1 twenty loaves of barley1 and full ears of corn in the husk thereof4 ,and he said1 ,give unto the people1 that they may eat4 #ab3jjd3jdc ,and his servitor said1 ,what1 should ,i set this before an hundred men8 ,he said again1 ,give the people1 that they may eat3 for thus saith the ,,lord1 ,they shall eat1 and shall leave thereof4 #ab3jjd3jdd ,so he set it before them1 and they did eat1 and left thereof1 according to the word of the ,,lord4 #ab3jje3jja ,now ,naaman1 captain of the host of the king of ,syria1 was a great man with his master1 and honourable1 because by him the ,,lord had given deliverance unto ,syria3 he was also a mighty man in valour1 but he was a leper4 #ab3jje3jjb ,and the ,syrians had gone out by companies1 and had brought away captive out of the land of ,israel a little maid2 and she waited on ,naaman's wife4 #ab3jje3jjc ,and she said unto her mistress1 ,would ,god my lord were with the prophet that is in ,samaria6 for he would recover him of his leprosy4 #ab3jje3jjd ,and one went in1 and told his lord1 saying1 ,thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of ,israel4 #ab3jje3jje ,and the king of ,syria said1 ,go to1 go1 and ,i will send a letter unto the king of ,israel4 ,and he departed1 and took with him ten talents of silver1 and six thousand pieces of gold1 and ten changes of raiment4 #ab3jje3jjf ,and he brought the letter to the king of ,israel1 saying1 ,now when this letter is come unto thee1 behold1 ,i have therewith sent ,naaman my servant to thee1 that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy4 #ab3jje3jjg ,and it came to pass1 when the king of ,israel had read the letter1 that he rent his clothes1 and said1 ,am ,i ,god1 to kill and to make alive1 that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy8 wherefore consider1 ,i pray you1 and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me4 #ab3jje3jjh ,and it was so1 when ,elisha the man of ,god had heard that the king of ,israel had rent his clothes1 that he sent to the king1 saying1 ,wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes8 let him come now to me1 and he shall know that there is a prophet in ,israel4 #ab3jje3jji ,so ,naaman came with his horses and with his chariot1 and stood at the door of the house of ,elisha4 #ab3jje3jaj ,and ,elisha sent a messenger unto him1 saying1 ,go and wash in ,jordan seven times1 and thy flesh shall come again to thee1 and thou shalt be clean4 #ab3jje3jaa ,but ,naaman was wroth1 and went away1 and said1 ,behold1 ,i thought1 ,he will surely come out to me1 and stand1 and call on the name of the ,,lord his ,god1 and strike his hand over the place1 and recover the leper4 #ab3jje3jab ,are not ,abana and ,pharpar1 rivers of ,damascus1 better than all the waters of ,israel8 may ,i not wash in them1 and be clean8 ,so he turned and went away in a rage4 #ab3jje3jac ,and his servants came near1 and spake unto him1 and said1 ,my father1 if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing1 wouldest thou not have done it8 how much rather then1 when he saith to thee1 ,wash1 and be clean8 #ab3jje3jad ,then went he down1 and dipped himself seven times in ,jordan1 according to the saying of the man of ,god3 and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child1 and he was clean4 #ab3jje3jae ,and he returned to the man of ,god1 he and all his company1 and came1 and stood before him3 and he said1 ,behold1 now ,i know that there is no ,god in all the earth1 but in ,israel3 now therefore1 ,i pray thee1 take a blessing of thy servant4 #ab3jje3jaf ,but he said1 ,as the ,,lord liveth1 before whom ,i stand1 ,i will receive none4 ,and he urged him to take it2 but he refused4 #ab3jje3jag ,and ,naaman said1 ,shall there not then1 ,i pray thee1 be given to thy servant two mules' burden of earth8 for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods1 but unto the ,,lord4 #ab3jje3jah ,in this thing the ,,lord pardon thy servant1 that when my master goeth into the house of ,rimmon to worship there1 and he leaneth on my hand1 and ,i bow myself in the house of ,rimmon3 when ,i bow down myself in the house of ,rimmon1 the ,,lord pardon thy servant in this thing4 #ab3jje3jai ,and he said unto him1 ,go in peace4 ,so he departed from him a little way4 #ab3jje3jbj ,but ,gehazi1 the servant of ,elisha the man of ,god1 said1 ,behold1 my master hath spared ,naaman this ,syrian1 in not receiving at his hands that which he brought3 but1 as the ,,lord liveth1 ,i will run after him1 and take somewhat of him4 #ab3jje3jba ,so ,gehazi followed after ,naaman4 ,and when ,naaman saw him running after him1 he lighted down from the chariot to meet him1 and said1 ,is all well8 #ab3jje3jbb ,and he said1 ,all is well4 ,my master hath sent me1 saying1 ,behold1 even now there be come to me from mount ,ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets3 give them1 ,i pray thee1 a talent of silver1 and two changes of garments4 #ab3jje3jbc ,and ,naaman said1 ,be content1 take two talents4 ,and he urged him1 and bound two talents of silver in two bags1 with two changes of garments1 and laid them upon two of his servants2 and they bare them before him4 #ab3jje3jbd ,and when he came to the tower1 he took them from their hand1 and bestowed them in the house3 and he let the men go1 and they departed4 #ab3jje3jbe ,but he went in1 and stood before his master4 ,and ,elisha said unto him1 ,whence comest thou1 ,gehazi8 ,and he said1 ,thy servant went no whither4 #ab3jje3jbf ,and he said unto him1 ,went not mine heart with thee1 when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee8 ,is it a time to receive money1 and to receive garments1 and oliveyards1 and vineyards1 and sheep1 and oxen1 and menservants1 and maidservants8 #ab3jje3jbg ,the leprosy therefore of ,naaman shall cleave unto thee1 and unto thy seed for ever4 ,and he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow4 #ab3jjf3jja ,and the sons of the prophets said unto ,elisha1 ,behold now1 the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us4 #ab3jjf3jjb ,let us go1 we pray thee1 unto ,jordan1 and take thence every man a beam1 and let us make us a place there1 where we may dwell4 ,and he answered1 ,go ye4 #ab3jjf3jjc ,and one said1 ,be content1 ,i pray thee1 and go with thy servants4 ,and he answered1 ,i will go4 #ab3jjf3jjd ,so he went with them4 ,and when they came to ,jordan1 they cut down wood4 #ab3jjf3jje ,but as one was felling a beam1 the axe head fell into the water3 and he cried1 and said1 ,alas1 master6 for it was borrowed4 #ab3jjf3jjf ,and the man of ,god said1 ,where fell it8 ,and he shewed him the place4 ,and he cut down a stick1 and cast it in thither2 and the iron did swim4 #ab3jjf3jjg ,therefore said he1 ,take it up to thee4 ,and he put out his hand1 and took it4 #ab3jjf3jjh ,then the king of ,syria warred against ,israel1 and took counsel with his servants1 saying1 ,in such and such a place shall be my camp4 #ab3jjf3jji ,and the man of ,god sent unto the king of ,israel1 saying1 ,beware that thou pass not such a place2 for thither the ,syrians are come down4 #ab3jjf3jaj ,and the king of ,israel sent to the place which the man of ,god told him and warned him of1 and saved himself there1 not once nor twice4 #ab3jjf3jaa ,therefore the heart of the king of ,syria was sore troubled for this thing2 and he called his servants1 and said unto them1 ,will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of ,israel8 #ab3jjf3jab ,and one of his servants said1 ,none1 my lord1 ,o king3 but ,elisha1 the prophet that is in ,israel1 telleth the king of ,israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber4 #ab3jjf3jac ,and he said1 ,go and spy where he is1 that ,i may send and fetch him4 ,and it was told him1 saying1 ,behold1 he is in ,dothan4 #ab3jjf3jad ,therefore sent he thither horses1 and chariots1 and a great host3 and they came by night1 and compassed the city about4 #ab3jjf3jae ,and when the servant of the man of ,god was risen early1 and gone forth1 behold1 an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots4 ,and his servant said unto him1 ,alas1 my master6 how shall we do8 #ab3jjf3jaf ,and he answered1 ,fear not3 for they that be with us are more than they that be with them4 #ab3jjf3jag ,and ,elisha prayed1 and said1 ,,lord1 ,i pray thee1 open his eyes1 that he may see4 ,and the ,,lord opened the eyes of the young man2 and he saw3 and1 behold1 the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about ,elisha4 #ab3jjf3jah ,and when they came down to him1 ,elisha prayed unto the ,,lord1 and said1 ,smite this people1 ,i pray thee1 with blindness4 ,and he smote them with blindness according to the word of ,elisha4 #ab3jjf3jai ,and ,elisha said unto them1 ,this is not the way1 neither is this the city3 follow me1 and ,i will bring you to the man whom ye seek4 ,but he led them to ,samaria4 #ab3jjf3jbj ,and it came to pass1 when they were come into ,samaria1 that ,elisha said1 ,,lord1 open the eyes of these men1 that they may see4 ,and the ,,lord opened their eyes1 and they saw2 and1 behold1 they were in the midst of ,samaria4 #ab3jjf3jba ,and the king of ,israel said unto ,elisha1 when he saw them1 ,my father1 shall ,i smite them8 shall ,i smite them8 #ab3jjf3jbb ,and he answered1 ,thou shalt not smite them3 wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow8 set bread and water before them1 that they may eat and drink1 and go to their master4 #ab3jjf3jbc ,and he prepared great provision for them3 and when they had eaten and drunk1 he sent them away1 and they went to their master4 ,so the bands of ,syria came no more into the land of ,israel4 #ab3jjf3jbd ,and it came to pass after this1 that ,benhadad king of ,syria gathered all his host1 and went up1 and besieged ,samaria4 #ab3jjf3jbe ,and there was a great famine in ,samaria3 and1 behold1 they besieged it1 until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver1 and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver4 #ab3jjf3jbf ,and as the king of ,israel was passing by upon the wall1 there cried a woman unto him1 saying1 ,help1 my lord1 ,o king4 #ab3jjf3jbg ,and he said1 ,if the ,,lord do not help thee1 whence shall ,i help thee8 out of the barnfloor1 or out of the winepress8 #ab3jjf3jbh ,and the king said unto her1 ,what aileth thee8 ,and she answered1 ,this woman said unto me1 ,give thy son1 that we may eat him to day1 and we will eat my son to morrow4 #ab3jjf3jbi ,so we boiled my son1 and did eat him3 and ,i said unto her on the next day1 ,give thy son1 that we may eat him3 and she hath hid her son4 #ab3jjf3jcj ,and it came to pass1 when the king heard the words of the woman1 that he rent his clothes2 and he passed by upon the wall1 and the people looked1 and1 behold1 he had sackcloth within upon his flesh4 #ab3jjf3jca ,then he said1 ,god do so and more also to me1 if the head of ,elisha the son of ,shaphat shall stand on him this day4 #ab3jjf3jcb ,but ,elisha sat in his house1 and the elders sat with him2 and the king sent a man from before him3 but ere the messenger came to him1 he said to the elders1 ,see ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head8 look1 when the messenger cometh1 shut the door1 and hold him fast at the door3 is not the sound of his master's feet behind him8 #ab3jjf3jcc ,and while he yet talked with them1 behold1 the messenger came down unto him3 and he said1 ,behold1 this evil is of the ,,lord2 what should ,i wait for the ,,lord any longer8 #ab3jjg3jja ,then ,elisha said1 ,hear ye the word of the ,,lord2 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,to morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel1 and two measures of barley for a shekel1 in the gate of ,samaria4 #ab3jjg3jjb ,then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of ,god1 and said1 ,behold1 if the ,,lord would make windows in heaven1 might this thing be8 ,and he said1 ,behold1 thou shalt see it with thine eyes1 but shalt not eat thereof4 #ab3jjg3jjc ,and there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate3 and they said one to another1 ,why sit we here until we die8 #ab3jjg3jjd ,if we say1 ,we will enter into the city1 then the famine is in the city1 and we shall die there3 and if we sit still here1 we die also4 ,now therefore come1 and let us fall unto the host of the ,syrians3 if they save us alive1 we shall live2 and if they kill us1 we shall but die4 #ab3jjg3jje ,and they rose up in the twilight1 to go unto the camp of the ,syrians3 and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of ,syria1 behold1 there was no man there4 #ab3jjg3jjf ,for the ,,lord had made the host of the ,syrians to hear a noise of chariots1 and a noise of horses1 even the noise of a great host3 and they said one to another1 ,lo1 the king of ,israel hath hired against us the kings of the ,hittites1 and the kings of the ,egyptians1 to come upon us4 #ab3jjg3jjg ,wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight1 and left their tents1 and their horses1 and their asses1 even the camp as it was1 and fled for their life4 #ab3jjg3jjh ,and when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp1 they went into one tent1 and did eat and drink1 and carried thence silver1 and gold1 and raiment1 and went and hid it2 and came again1 and entered into another tent1 and carried thence also1 and went and hid it4 #ab3jjg3jji ,then they said one to another1 ,we do not well3 this day is a day of good tidings1 and we hold our peace3 if we tarry till the morning light1 some mischief will come upon us3 now therefore come1 that we may go and tell the king's household4 #ab3jjg3jaj ,so they came and called unto the porter of the city3 and they told them1 saying1 ,we came to the camp of the ,syrians1 and1 behold1 there was no man there1 neither voice of man1 but horses tied1 and asses tied1 and the tents as they were4 #ab3jjg3jaa ,and he called the porters2 and they told it to the king's house within4 #ab3jjg3jab ,and the king arose in the night1 and said unto his servants1 ,i will now shew you what the ,syrians have done to us4 ,they know that we be hungry2 therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field1 saying1 ,when they come out of the city1 we shall catch them alive1 and get into the city4 #ab3jjg3jac ,and one of his servants answered and said1 ,let some take1 ,i pray thee1 five of the horses that remain1 which are left in the city1 7behold1 they are as all the multitude of ,israel that are left in it3 behold1 ,i say1 they are even as all the multitude of the ,israelites that are consumed37 and let us send and see4 #ab3jjg3jad ,they took therefore two chariot horses2 and the king sent after the host of the ,syrians1 saying1 ,go and see4 #ab3jjg3jae ,and they went after them unto ,jordan3 and1 lo1 all the way was full of garments and vessels1 which the ,syrians had cast away in their haste4 ,and the messengers returned1 and told the king4 #ab3jjg3jaf ,and the people went out1 and spoiled the tents of the ,syrians4 ,so a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel1 and two measures of barley for a shekel1 according to the word of the ,,lord4 #ab3jjg3jag ,and the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate3 and the people trode upon him in the gate1 and he died1 as the man of ,god had said1 who spake when the king came down to him4 #ab3jjg3jah ,and it came to pass as the man of ,god had spoken to the king1 saying1 ,two measures of barley for a shekel1 and a measure of fine flour for a shekel1 shall be to morrow about this time in the gate of ,samaria3 #ab3jjg3jai ,and that lord answered the man of ,god1 and said1 ,now1 behold1 if the ,,lord should make windows in heaven1 might such a thing be8 ,and he said1 ,behold1 thou shalt see it with thine eyes1 but shalt not eat thereof4 #ab3jjg3jbj ,and so it fell out unto him3 for the people trode upon him in the gate1 and he died4 #ab3jjh3jja ,then spake ,elisha unto the woman1 whose son he had restored to life1 saying1 ,arise1 and go thou and thine household1 and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn3 for the ,,lord hath called for a famine2 and it shall also come upon the land seven years4 #ab3jjh3jjb ,and the woman arose1 and did after the saying of the man of ,god3 and she went with her household1 and sojourned in the land of the ,philistines seven years4 #ab3jjh3jjc ,and it came to pass at the seven years' end1 that the woman returned out of the land of the ,philistines3 and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land4 #ab3jjh3jjd ,and the king talked with ,gehazi the servant of the man of ,god1 saying1 ,tell me1 ,i pray thee1 all the great things that ,elisha hath done4 #ab3jjh3jje ,and it came to pass1 as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life1 that1 behold1 the woman1 whose son he had restored to life1 cried to the king for her house and for her land4 ,and ,gehazi said1 ,my lord1 ,o king1 this is the woman1 and this is her son1 whom ,elisha restored to life4 #ab3jjh3jjf ,and when the king asked the woman1 she told him4 ,so the king appointed unto her a certain officer1 saying1 ,restore all that was hers1 and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land1 even until now4 #ab3jjh3jjg ,and ,elisha came to ,damascus2 and ,benhadad the king of ,syria was sick2 and it was told him1 saying1 ,the man of ,god is come hither4 #ab3jjh3jjh ,and the king said unto ,hazael1 ,take a present in thine hand1 and go1 meet the man of ,god1 and enquire of the ,,lord by him1 saying1 ,shall ,i recover of this disease8 #ab3jjh3jji ,so ,hazael went to meet him1 and took a present with him1 even of every good thing of ,damascus1 forty camels' burden1 and came and stood before him1 and said1 ,thy son ,benhadad king of ,syria hath sent me to thee1 saying1 ,shall ,i recover of this disease8 #ab3jjh3jaj ,and ,elisha said unto him1 ,go1 say unto him1 ,thou mayest certainly recover3 howbeit the ,,lord hath shewed me that he shall surely die4 #ab3jjh3jaa ,and he settled his countenance stedfastly1 until he was ashamed3 and the man of ,god wept4 #ab3jjh3jab ,and ,hazael said1 ,why weepeth my lord8 ,and he answered1 ,because ,i know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of ,israel3 their strong holds wilt thou set on fire1 and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword1 and wilt dash their children1 and rip up their women with child4 #ab3jjh3jac ,and ,hazael said1 ,but what1 is thy servant a dog1 that he should do this great thing8 ,and ,elisha answered1 ,the ,,lord hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over ,syria4 #ab3jjh3jad ,so he departed from ,elisha1 and came to his master2 who said to him1 ,what said ,elisha to thee8 ,and he answered1 ,he told me that thou shouldest surely recover4 #ab3jjh3jae ,and it came to pass on the morrow1 that he took a thick cloth1 and dipped it in water1 and spread it on his face1 so that he died3 and ,hazael reigned in his stead4 #ab3jjh3jaf ,and in the fifth year of ,joram the son of ,ahab king of ,israel1 ,jehoshaphat being then king of ,judah1 ,jehoram the son of ,je hoshaphat king of ,judah began to reign4 #ab3jjh3jag ,thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign2 and he reigned eight years in ,jerusalem4 #ab3jjh3jah ,and he walked in the way of the kings of ,israel1 as did the house of ,ahab3 for the daughter of ,ahab was his wife3 and he did evil in the sight of the ,,lord4 #ab3jjh3jai ,yet the ,,lord would not destroy ,judah for ,david his servant's sake1 as he promised him to give him alway a light1 and to his children4 #ab3jjh3jbj ,in his days ,edom revolted from under the hand of ,judah1 and made a king over themselves4 #ab3jjh3jba ,so ,joram went over to ,zair1 and all the chariots with him3 and he rose by night1 and smote the ,edomites which compassed him about1 and the captains of the chariots3 and the people fled into their tents4 #ab3jjh3jbb ,yet ,edom revolted from under the hand of ,judah unto this day4 ,then ,libnah revolted at the same time4 #ab3jjh3jbc ,and the rest of the acts of ,joram1 and all that he did1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,judah8 #ab3jjh3jbd ,and ,joram slept with his fathers1 and was buried with his fathers in the city of ,david3 and ,ahaziah his son reigned in his stead4 #ab3jjh3jbe ,in the twelfth year of ,joram the son of ,ahab king of ,israel did ,ahaziah the son of ,jehoram king of ,judah begin to reign4 #ab3jjh3jbf ,two and twenty years old was ,ahaziah when he began to reign2 and he reigned one year in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,athaliah1 the daughter of ,omri king of ,israel4 #ab3jjh3jbg ,and he walked in the way of the house of ,ahab1 and did evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 as did the house of ,ahab3 for he was the son in law of the house of ,ahab4 #ab3jjh3jbh ,and he went with ,joram the son of ,ahab to the war against ,hazael king of ,syria in ,ramothgilead2 and the ,syrians wounded ,joram4 #ab3jjh3jbi ,and king ,joram went back to be healed in ,jezreel of the wounds which the ,syrians had given him at ,ramah1 when he fought against ,hazael king of ,syria4 ,and ,ahaziah the son of ,jehoram king of ,judah went down to see ,joram the son of ,ahab in ,jezreel1 because he was sick4 #ab3jji3jja ,and ,elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets1 and said unto him1 ,gird up thy loins1 and take this box of oil in thine hand1 and go to ,ramothgilead3 #ab3jji3jjb ,and when thou comest thither1 look out there ,jehu the son of ,jehoshaphat the son of ,nimshi1 and go in1 and make him arise up from among his brethren1 and carry him to an inner chamber2 #ab3jji3jjc ,then take the box of oil1 and pour it on his head1 and say1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,i have anointed thee king over ,israel4 ,then open the door1 and flee1 and tarry not4 #ab3jji3jjd ,so the young man1 even the young man the prophet1 went to ,ramothgilead4 #ab3jji3jje ,and when he came1 behold1 the captains of the host were sitting2 and he said1 ,i have an errand to thee1 ,o captain4 ,and ,jehu said1 ,unto which of all us8 ,and he said1 ,to thee1 ,o captain4 #ab3jji3jjf ,and he arose1 and went into the house2 and he poured the oil on his head1 and said unto him1 ,thus saith the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 ,i have anointed thee king over the people of the ,,lord1 even over ,israel4 #ab3jji3jjg ,and thou shalt smite the house of ,ahab thy master1 that ,i may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets1 and the blood of all the servants of the ,,lord1 at the hand of ,jezebel4 #ab3jji3jjh ,for the whole house of ,ahab shall perish3 and ,i will cut off from ,ahab him that pisseth against the wall1 and him that is shut up and left in ,israel3 #ab3jji3jji ,and ,i will make the house of ,ahab like the house of ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 and like the house of ,baasha the son of ,ahijah3 #ab3jji3jaj ,and the dogs shall eat ,jezebel in the portion of ,jezreel1 and there shall be none to bury her4 ,and he opened the door1 and fled4 #ab3jji3jaa ,then ,jehu came forth to the servants of his lord3 and one said unto him1 ,is all well8 wherefore came this mad fellow to thee8 ,and he said unto them1 ,ye know the man1 and his communication4 #ab3jji3jab ,and they said1 ,it is false2 tell us now4 ,and he said1 ,thus and thus spake he to me1 saying1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,i have anointed thee king over ,israel4 #ab3jji3jac ,then they hasted1 and took every man his garment1 and put it under him on the top of the stairs1 and blew with trumpets1 saying1 ,jehu is king4 #ab3jji3jad ,so ,jehu the son of ,jehoshaphat the son of ,nimshi conspired against ,joram4 7,now ,joram had kept ,ramothgilead1 he and all ,israel1 because of ,hazael king of ,syria4 #ab3jji3jae ,but king ,joram was returned to be healed in ,jezreel of the wounds which the ,syrians had given him1 when he fought with ,hazael king of ,syria47 ,and ,jehu said1 ,if it be your minds1 then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell it in ,jezreel4 #ab3jji3jaf ,so ,jehu rode in a chariot1 and went to ,jezreel2 for ,joram lay there4 ,and ,ahaziah king of ,judah was come down to see ,joram4 #ab3jji3jag ,and there stood a watchman on the tower in ,jezreel1 and he spied the company of ,jehu as he came1 and said1 ,i see a company4 ,and ,joram said1 ,take an horseman1 and send to meet them1 and let him say1 ,is it peace8 #ab3jji3jah ,so there went one on horseback to meet him1 and said1 ,thus saith the king1 ,is it peace8 ,and ,jehu said1 ,what hast thou to do with peace8 turn thee behind me4 ,and the watchman told1 saying1 ,the messenger came to them1 but he cometh not again4 #ab3jji3jai ,then he sent out a second on horseback1 which came to them1 and said1 ,thus saith the king1 ,is it peace8 ,and ,jehu answered1 ,what hast thou to do with peace8 turn thee behind me4 #ab3jji3jbj ,and the watchman told1 saying1 ,he came even unto them1 and cometh not again3 and the driving is like the driving of ,jehu the son of ,nimshi2 for he driveth furiously4 #ab3jji3jba ,and ,joram said1 ,make ready4 ,and his chariot was made ready4 ,and ,joram king of ,israel and ,ahaziah king of ,judah went out1 each in his chariot1 and they went out against ,jehu1 and met him in the portion of ,naboth the ,jezreelite4 #ab3jji3jbb ,and it came to pass1 when ,joram saw ,jehu1 that he said1 ,is it peace1 ,jehu8 ,and he answered1 ,what peace1 so long as the whoredoms of thy mother ,jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many8 #ab3jji3jbc ,and ,joram turned his hands1 and fled1 and said to ,ahaziah1 ,there is treachery1 ,o ,ahaziah4 #ab3jji3jbd ,and ,jehu drew a bow with his full strength1 and smote ,jehoram between his arms1 and the arrow went out at his heart1 and he sunk down in his chariot4 #ab3jji3jbe ,then said ,jehu to ,bidkar his captain1 ,take up1 and cast him in the portion of the field of ,naboth the ,jezreelite3 for remember how that1 when ,i and thou rode together after ,ahab his father1 the ,,lord laid this burden upon him2 #ab3jji3jbf ,surely ,i have seen yesterday the blood of ,naboth1 and the blood of his sons1 saith the ,,lord2 and ,i will requite thee in this plat1 saith the ,,lord4 ,now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground1 according to the word of the ,,lord4 #ab3jji3jbg ,but when ,ahaziah the king of ,judah saw this1 he fled by the way of the garden house4 ,and ,jehu followed after him1 and said1 ,smite him also in the chariot4 ,and they did so at the going up to ,gur1 which is by ,ibleam4 ,and he fled to ,megiddo1 and died there4 #ab3jji3jbh ,and his servants carried him in a chariot to ,jerusalem1 and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of ,david4 #ab3jji3jbi ,and in the eleventh year of ,joram the son of ,ahab began ,ahaziah to reign over ,judah4 #ab3jji3jcj ,and when ,jehu was come to ,jezreel1 ,jezebel heard of it2 and she painted her face1 and tired her head1 and looked out at a window4 #ab3jji3jca ,and as ,jehu entered in at the gate1 she said1 ,had ,zimri peace1 who slew his master8 #ab3jji3jcb ,and he lifted up his face to the window1 and said1 ,who is on my side8 who8 ,and there looked out to him two or three eunuchs4 #ab3jji3jcc ,and he said1 ,throw her down4 ,so they threw her down3 and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall1 and on the horses3 and he trode her under foot4 #ab3jji3jcd ,and when he was come in1 he did eat and drink1 and said1 ,go1 see now this cursed woman1 and bury her3 for she is a king's daughter4 #ab3jji3jce ,and they went to bury her3 but they found no more of her than the skull1 and the feet1 and the palms of her hands4 #ab3jji3jcf ,wherefore they came again1 and told him4 ,and he said1 ,this is the word of the ,,lord1 which he spake by his servant ,elijah the ,tishbite1 saying1 ,in the portion of ,jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of ,jezebel3 #ab3jji3jcg ,and the carcase of ,jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of ,jezreel2 so that they shall not say1 ,this is ,jezebel4 #ab3jaj3jja ,and ,ahab had seventy sons in ,samaria4 ,and ,jehu wrote letters1 and sent to ,samaria1 unto the rulers of ,jezreel1 to the elders1 and to them that brought up ,ahab's children1 saying1 #ab3jaj3jjb ,now as soon as this letter cometh to you1 seeing your master's sons are with you1 and there are with you chariots and horses1 a fenced city also1 and armour2 #ab3jaj3jjc ,look even out the best and meetest of your master's sons1 and set him on his father's throne1 and fight for your master's house4 #ab3jaj3jjd ,but they were exceedingly afraid1 and said1 ,behold1 two kings stood not before him3 how then shall we stand8 #ab3jaj3jje ,and he that was over the house1 and he that was over the city1 the elders also1 and the bringers up of the children1 sent to ,jehu1 saying1 ,we are thy servants1 and will do all that thou shalt bid us2 we will not make any king3 do thou that which is good in thine eyes4 #ab3jaj3jjf ,then he wrote a letter the second time to them1 saying1 ,if ye be mine1 and if ye will hearken unto my voice1 take ye the heads of the men your master's sons1 and come to me to ,jezreel by to morrow this time4 ,now the king's sons1 being seventy persons1 were with the great men of the city1 which brought them up4 #ab3jaj3jjg ,and it came to pass1 when the letter came to them1 that they took the king's sons1 and slew seventy persons1 and put their heads in baskets1 and sent him them to ,jezreel4 #ab3jaj3jjh ,and there came a messenger1 and told him1 saying1 ,they have brought the heads of the king's sons4 ,and he said1 ,lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning4 #ab3jaj3jji ,and it came to pass in the morning1 that he went out1 and stood1 and said to all the people1 ,ye be righteous3 behold1 ,i conspired against my master1 and slew him3 but who slew all these8 #ab3jaj3jaj ,know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the ,,lord1 which the ,,lord spake concerning the house of ,ahab3 for the ,,lord hath done that which he spake by his servant ,elijah4 #ab3jaj3jaa ,so ,jehu slew all that remained of the house of ,ahab in ,jezreel1 and all his great men1 and his kinsfolks1 and his priests1 until he left him none remaining4 #ab3jaj3jab ,and he arose and departed1 and came to ,samaria4 ,and as he was at the shearing house in the way1 #ab3jaj3jac ,jehu met with the brethren of ,ahaziah king of ,judah1 and said1 ,who are ye8 ,and they answered1 ,we are the brethren of ,ahaziah2 and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen4 #ab3jaj3jad ,and he said1 ,take them alive4 ,and they took them alive1 and slew them at the pit of the shearing house1 even two and forty men2 neither left he any of them4 #ab3jaj3jae ,and when he was departed thence1 he lighted on ,jehonadab the son of ,rechab coming to meet him3 and he saluted him1 and said to him1 ,is thine heart right1 as my heart is with thy heart8 ,and ,jehonadab answered1 ,it is4 ,if it be1 give me thine hand4 ,and he gave him his hand2 and he took him up to him into the chariot4 #ab3jaj3jaf ,and he said1 ,come with me1 and see my zeal for the ,,lord4 ,so they made him ride in his chariot4 #ab3jaj3jag ,and when he came to ,samaria1 he slew all that remained unto ,ahab in ,samaria1 till he had destroyed him1 according to the saying of the ,,lord1 which he spake to ,elijah4 #ab3jaj3jah ,and ,jehu gathered all the people together1 and said unto them1 ,ahab served ,baal a little2 but ,jehu shall serve him much4 #ab3jaj3jai ,now therefore call unto me all the prophets of ,baal1 all his servants1 and all his priests2 let none be wanting3 for ,i have a great sacrifice to do to ,baal2 whosoever shall be wanting1 he shall not live4 ,but ,jehu did it in subtilty1 to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of ,baal4 #ab3jaj3jbj ,and ,jehu said1 ,proclaim a solemn assembly for ,baal4 ,and they proclaimed it4 #ab3jaj3jba ,and ,jehu sent through all ,israel3 and all the worshippers of ,baal came1 so that there was not a man left that came not4 ,and they came into the house of ,baal2 and the house of ,baal was full from one end to another4 #ab3jaj3jbb ,and he said unto him that was over the vestry1 ,bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of ,baal4 ,and he brought them forth vestments4 #ab3jaj3jbc ,and ,jehu went1 and ,jehonadab the son of ,rechab1 into the house of ,baal1 and said unto the worshippers of ,baal1 ,search1 and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the ,,lord1 but the worshippers of ,baal only4 #ab3jaj3jbd ,and when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings1 ,jehu appointed fourscore men without1 and said1 ,if any of the men whom ,i have brought into your hands escape1 he that letteth him go1 his life shall be for the life of him4 #ab3jaj3jbe ,and it came to pass1 as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering1 that ,jehu said to the guard and to the captains1 ,go in1 and slay them2 let none come forth4 ,and they smote them with the edge of the sword2 and the guard and the captains cast them out1 and went to the city of the house of ,baal4 #ab3jaj3jbf ,and they brought forth the images out of the house of ,baal1 and burned them4 #ab3jaj3jbg ,and they brake down the image of ,baal1 and brake down the house of ,baal1 and made it a draught house unto this day4 #ab3jaj3jbh ,thus ,jehu destroyed ,baal out of ,israel4 #ab3jaj3jbi ,howbeit from the sins of ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 who made ,israel to sin1 ,jehu departed not from after them1 to wit1 the golden calves that were in ,bethel1 and that were in ,dan4 #ab3jaj3jcj ,and the ,,lord said unto ,jehu1 ,because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes1 and hast done unto the house of ,ahab according to all that was in mine heart1 thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of ,israel4 #ab3jaj3jca ,but ,jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the ,,lord ,god of ,israel with all his heart3 for he departed not from the sins of ,jeroboam1 which made ,israel to sin4 #ab3jaj3jcb ,in those days the ,,lord began to cut ,israel short3 and ,hazael smote them in all the coasts of ,israel2 #ab3jaj3jcc ,from ,jordan eastward1 all the land of ,gilead1 the ,gadites1 and the ,reubenites1 and the ,manassites1 from ,aroer1 which is by the river ,arnon1 even ,gilead and ,bashan4 #ab3jaj3jcd ,now the rest of the acts of ,jehu1 and all that he did1 and all his might1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,israel8 #ab3jaj3jce ,and ,jehu slept with his fathers3 and they buried him in ,samaria4 ,and ,jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead4 #ab3jaj3jcf ,and the time that ,jehu reigned over ,israel in ,samaria was twenty and eight years4 #ab3jaa3jja ,and when ,athaliah the mother of ,ahaziah saw that her son was dead1 she arose and destroyed all the seed royal4 #ab3jaa3jjb ,but ,jehosheba1 the daughter of king ,joram1 sister of ,ahaziah1 took ,joash the son of ,ahaziah1 and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain2 and they hid him1 even him and his nurse1 in the bedchamber from ,athaliah1 so that he was not slain4 #ab3jaa3jjc ,and he was with her hid in the house of the ,,lord six years4 ,and ,athaliah did reign over the land4 #ab3jaa3jjd ,and the seventh year ,jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds1 with the captains and the guard1 and brought them to him into the house of the ,,lord1 and made a covenant with them1 and took an oath of them in the house of the ,,lord1 and shewed them the king's son4 #ab3jaa3jje ,and he commanded them1 saying1 ,this is the thing that ye shall do2 ,a third part of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even be keepers of the watch of the king's house2 #ab3jaa3jjf ,and a third part shall be at the gate of ,sur2 and a third part at the gate behind the guard3 so shall ye keep the watch of the house1 that it be not broken down4 #ab3jaa3jjg ,and two parts of all you that go forth on the sabbath1 even they shall keep the watch of the house of the ,,lord about the king4 #ab3jaa3jjh ,and ye shall compass the king round about1 every man with his weapons in his hand3 and he that cometh within the ranges1 let him be slain3 and be ye with the king as he goeth out and as he cometh in4 #ab3jaa3jji ,and the captains over the hundreds did according to all things that ,jehoiada the priest commanded3 and they took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath1 with them that should go out on the sabbath1 and came to ,jehoiada the priest4 #ab3jaa3jaj ,and to the captains over hundreds did the priest give king ,david's spears and shields1 that were in the temple of the ,,lord4 #ab3jaa3jaa ,and the guard stood1 every man with his weapons in his hand1 round about the king1 from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple1 along by the altar and the temple4 #ab3jaa3jab ,and he brought forth the king's son1 and put the crown upon him1 and gave him the testimony2 and they made him king1 and anointed him2 and they clapped their hands1 and said1 ,god save the king4 #ab3jaa3jac ,and when ,athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people1 she came to the people into the temple of the ,,lord4 #ab3jaa3jad ,and when she looked1 behold1 the king stood by a pillar1 as the manner was1 and the princes and the trumpeters by the king1 and all the people of the land rejoiced1 and blew with trumpets3 and ,athaliah rent her clothes1 and cried1 ,treason1 ,treason4 #ab3jaa3jae ,but ,jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds1 the officers of the host1 and said unto them1 ,have her forth without the ranges3 and him that followeth her kill with the sword4 ,for the priest had said1 ,let her not be slain in the house of the ,,lord4 #ab3jaa3jaf ,and they laid hands on her2 and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king's house3 and there was she slain4 #ab3jaa3jag ,and ,jehoiada made a covenant between the ,,lord and the king and the people1 that they should be the ,,lord's people2 between the king also and the people4 #ab3jaa3jah ,and all the people of the land went into the house of ,baal1 and brake it down2 his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly1 and slew ,mattan the priest of ,baal before the altars4 ,and the priest appointed officers over the house of the ,,lord4 #ab3jaa3jai ,and he took the rulers over hundreds1 and the captains1 and the guard1 and all the people of the land2 and they brought down the king from the house of the ,,lord1 and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king's house4 ,and he sat on the throne of the kings4 #ab3jaa3jbj ,and all the people of the land rejoiced1 and the city was in quiet3 and they slew ,athaliah with the sword beside the king's house4 #ab3jaa3jba ,seven years old was ,jehoash when he began to reign4 #ab3jab3jja ,in the seventh year of ,jehu ,jehoash began to reign2 and forty years reigned he in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,zibiah of ,beersheba4 #ab3jab3jjb ,and ,jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord all his days wherein ,jehoiada the priest instructed him4 #ab3jab3jjc ,but the high places were not taken away3 the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places4 #ab3jab3jjd ,and ,jehoash said to the priests1 ,all the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the ,,lord1 even the money of every one that passeth the account1 the money that every man is set at1 and all the money that cometh into any man's heart to bring into the house of the ,,lord1 #ab3jab3jje ,let the priests take it to them1 every man of his acquaintance3 and let them repair the breaches of the house1 wheresoever any breach shall be found4 #ab3jab3jjf ,but it was so1 that in the three and twentieth year of king ,jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house4 #ab3jab3jjg ,then king ,jehoash called for ,jehoiada the priest1 and the other priests1 and said unto them1 ,why repair ye not the breaches of the house8 now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance1 but deliver it for the breaches of the house4 #ab3jab3jjh ,and the priests consented to receive no more money of the people1 neither to repair the breaches of the house4 #ab3jab3jji ,but ,jehoiada the priest took a chest1 and bored a hole in the lid of it1 and set it beside the altar1 on the right side as one cometh into the house of the ,,lord3 and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the ,,lord4 #ab3jab3jaj ,and it was so1 when they saw that there was much money in the chest1 that the king's scribe and the high priest came up1 and they put up in bags1 and told the money that was found in the house of the ,,lord4 #ab3jab3jaa ,and they gave the money1 being told1 into the hands of them that did the work1 that had the oversight of the house of the ,,lord3 and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders1 that wrought upon the house of the ,,lord1 #ab3jab3jab ,and to masons1 and hewers of stone1 and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the ,,lord1 and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it4 #ab3jab3jac ,howbeit there were not made for the house of the ,,lord bowls of silver1 snuffers1 basons1 trumpets1 any vessels of gold1 or vessels of silver1 of the money that was brought into the house of the ,,lord3 #ab3jab3jad ,but they gave that to the workmen1 and repaired therewith the house of the ,,lord4 #ab3jab3jae ,moreover they reckoned not with the men1 into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen3 for they dealt faithfully4 #ab3jab3jaf ,the trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the ,,lord3 it was the priests'4 #ab3jab3jag ,then ,hazael king of ,syria went up1 and fought against ,gath1 and took it3 and ,hazael set his face to go up to ,jerusalem4 #ab3jab3jah ,and ,jehoash king of ,judah took all the hallowed things that ,jehoshaphat1 and ,jehoram1 and ,ahaziah1 his fathers1 kings of ,judah1 had dedicated1 and his own hallowed things1 and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the ,,lord1 and in the king's house1 and sent it to ,hazael king of ,syria3 and he went away from ,jerusalem4 #ab3jab3jai ,and the rest of the acts of ,joash1 and all that he did1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,judah8 #ab3jab3jbj ,and his servants arose1 and made a conspiracy1 and slew ,joash in the house of ,millo1 which goeth down to ,silla4 #ab3jab3jba ,for ,jozachar the son of ,shimeath1 and ,jehozabad the son of ,shomer1 his servants1 smote him1 and he died2 and they buried him with his fathers in the city of ,david3 and ,amaziah his son reigned in his stead4 #ab3jac3jja ,in the three and twentieth year of ,joash the son of ,ahaziah king of ,judah ,jehoahaz the son of ,jehu began to reign over ,israel in ,samaria1 and reigned seventeen years4 #ab3jac3jjb ,and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 and followed the sins of ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 which made ,israel to sin2 he departed not therefrom4 #ab3jac3jjc ,and the anger of the ,,lord was kindled against ,israel1 and he delivered them into the hand of ,hazael king of ,syria1 and into the hand of ,benhadad the son of ,hazael1 all their days4 #ab3jac3jjd ,and ,jehoahaz besought the ,,lord1 and the ,,lord hearkened unto him3 for he saw the oppression of ,israel1 because the king of ,syria oppressed them4 #ab3jac3jje 7,and the ,,lord gave ,israel a saviour1 so that they went out from under the hand of the ,syrians3 and the children of ,israel dwelt in their tents1 as beforetime4 #ab3jac3jjf ,nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of ,jeroboam1 who made ,israel sin1 but walked therein3 and there remained the grove also in ,samaria47 #ab3jac3jjg ,neither did he leave of the people to ,jehoahaz but fifty horsemen1 and ten chariots1 and ten thousand footmen2 for the king of ,syria had destroyed them1 and had made them like the dust by threshing4 #ab3jac3jjh ,now the rest of the acts of ,jehoahaz1 and all that he did1 and his might1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,israel8 #ab3jac3jji ,and ,jehoahaz slept with his fathers2 and they buried him in ,samaria3 and ,joash his son reigned in his stead4 #ab3jac3jaj ,in the thirty and seventh year of ,joash king of ,judah began ,jehoash the son of ,jehoahaz to reign over ,israel in ,samaria1 and reigned sixteen years4 #ab3jac3jaa ,and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord2 he departed not from all the sins of ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 who made ,israel sin3 but he walked therein4 #ab3jac3jab ,and the rest of the acts of ,joash1 and all that he did1 and his might wherewith he fought against ,amaziah king of ,judah1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,israel8 #ab3jac3jac ,and ,joash slept with his fathers2 and ,jeroboam sat upon his throne3 and ,joash was buried in ,samaria with the kings of ,israel4 #ab3jac3jad ,now ,elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died4 ,and ,joash the king of ,israel came down unto him1 and wept over his face1 and said1 ,o my father1 my father1 the chariot of ,israel1 and the horsemen thereof4 #ab3jac3jae ,and ,elisha said unto him1 ,take bow and arrows4 ,and he took unto him bow and arrows4 #ab3jac3jaf ,and he said to the king of ,israel1 ,put thine hand upon the bow4 ,and he put his hand upon it3 and ,elisha put his hands upon the king's hands4 #ab3jac3jag ,and he said1 ,open the window eastward4 ,and he opened it4 ,then ,elisha said1 ,shoot4 ,and he shot4 ,and he said1 ,the arrow of the ,,lord's deliverance1 and the arrow of deliverance from ,syria3 for thou shalt smite the ,syrians in ,aphek1 till thou have consumed them4 #ab3jac3jah ,and he said1 ,take the arrows4 ,and he took them4 ,and he said unto the king of ,israel1 ,smite upon the ground4 ,and he smote thrice1 and stayed4 #ab3jac3jai ,and the man of ,god was wroth with him1 and said1 ,thou shouldest have smitten five or six times2 then hadst thou smitten ,syria till thou hadst consumed it3 whereas now thou shalt smite ,syria but thrice4 #ab3jac3jbj ,and ,elisha died1 and they buried him4 ,and the bands of the ,moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year4 #ab3jac3jba ,and it came to pass1 as they were burying a man1 that1 behold1 they spied a band of men2 and they cast the man into the sepulchre of ,elisha3 and when the man was let down1 and touched the bones of ,elisha1 he revived1 and stood up on his feet4 #ab3jac3jbb ,but ,hazael king of ,syria oppressed ,israel all the days of ,jehoahaz4 #ab3jac3jbc ,and the ,,lord was gracious unto them1 and had compassion on them1 and had respect unto them1 because of his covenant with ,abraham1 ,isaac1 and ,jacob1 and would not destroy them1 neither cast he them from his presence as yet4 #ab3jac3jbd ,so ,hazael king of ,syria died2 and ,benhadad his son reigned in his stead4 #ab3jac3jbe ,and ,jehoash the son of ,jehoahaz took again out of the hand of ,benhadad the son of ,hazael the cities1 which he had taken out of the hand of ,jehoahaz his father by war4 ,three times did ,joash beat him1 and recovered the cities of ,israel4 #ab3jad3jja ,in the second year of ,joash son of ,jehoahaz king of ,israel reigned ,amaziah ,jerusalem4 #ab3jad3jjc ,and he did that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord1 yet not like ,david his father3 he did according to all things as ,joash his father did4 #ab3jad3jjd ,howbeit the high places were not taken away3 as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places4 #ab3jad3jje ,and it came to pass1 as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand1 that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father4 #ab3jad3jjf ,but the children of the murderers he slew not3 according unto that which is written in the book of the law of ,moses1 wherein the ,,lord commanded1 saying1 ,the fathers shall not be put to death for the children1 nor the children be put to death for the fathers2 but every man shall be put to death for his own sin4 #ab3jad3jjg ,he slew of ,edom in the valley of salt ten thousand1 and took ,selah by war1 and called the name of it ,joktheel unto this day4 #ab3jad3jjh ,then ,amaziah sent messengers to ,jehoash1 the son of ,jehoahaz son of ,jehu1 king of ,israel1 saying1 ,come1 let us look one another in the face4 #ab3jad3jji ,and ,jehoash the king of ,israel sent to ,amaziah king of ,judah1 saying1 ,the thistle that was in ,lebanon sent to the cedar that was in ,lebanon1 saying1 ,give thy daughter to my son to wife3 and there passed by a wild beast that was in ,lebanon1 and trode down the thistle4 #ab3jad3jaj ,thou hast indeed smitten ,edom1 and thine heart hath lifted thee up3 glory of this1 and tarry at home3 for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt1 that thou shouldest fall1 even thou1 and ,judah with thee8 #ab3jad3jaa ,but ,amaziah would not hear4 ,therefore ,jehoash king of ,israel went up2 and he and ,amaziah king of ,judah looked one another in the face at ,bethshemesh1 which belongeth to ,judah4 #ab3jad3jab ,and ,judah was put to the worse before ,israel2 and they fled every man to their tents4 #ab3jad3jac ,and ,jehoash king of ,israel took ,amaziah king of ,judah1 the son of ,jehoash the son of ,ahaziah1 at ,bethshemesh1 and came to ,jerusalem1 and brake down the wall of ,jerusalem from the gate of ,ephraim unto the corner gate1 four hundred cubits4 #ab3jad3jad ,and he took all the gold and silver1 and all the vessels that were found in the house of the ,,lord1 and in the treasures of the king's house1 and hostages1 and returned to ,samaria4 #ab3jad3jae ,now the rest of the acts of ,jerusalem with his fathers in the city of ,david4 #ab3jad3jba ,and all the people of ,judah took ,azariah1 which was sixteen years old1 and made him king instead of his father ,amaziah4 #ab3jad3jbb ,he built ,elath1 and restored it to ,judah1 after that the king slept with his fathers4 #ab3jad3jbc ,in the fifteenth year of ,amaziah the son of ,joash king of ,judah ,jeroboam the son of ,joash son of ,nebat1 who made ,israel to sin4 #ab3jad3jbe ,he restored the coast of ,israel from the entering of ,hamath unto the sea of the plain1 according to the word of the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 which he spake by the hand of his servant ,jonah1 the son of ,amittai1 the prophet1 which was of ,gathhepher4 #ab3jad3jbf ,for the ,,lord saw the affliction of ,israel1 that it was very bitter3 for there was not any shut up1 nor any left1 nor any helper for ,israel4 #ab3jad3jbg ,and the ,,lord said not that he would blot out the name of ,israel from under heaven3 but he saved them by the hand of ,ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the ,,lord1 and in the treasures of the king's house1 and sent it for a present to the king of ,assyria4 #ab3jaf3jji ,and the king of ,assyria hearkened unto him3 for the king of ,assyria went up against ,damascus1 and took it1 and carried the people of it captive to ,kir1 and slew ,rezin4 #ab3jaf3jaj ,and king ,ahaz went to ,damascus to meet ,tiglathpileser king of ,assyria1 and saw an altar that was at ,damascus3 and king ,ahaz sent to ,urijah the priest the fashion of the altar1 and the pattern of it1 according to all the workmanship thereof4 #ab3jaf3jaa ,and ,urijah the priest built an altar according to all that king ,ahaz had sent from ,damascus3 so ,urijah the priest made it against king ,ahaz came from ,damascus4 #ab3jaf3jab ,and when the king was come from ,damascus1 the king saw the altar3 and the king approached to the altar1 and offered thereon4 #ab3jaf3jac ,and he burnt his burnt offering and his meat offering1 and poured his drink offering1 and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings1 upon the altar4 #ab3jaf3jad ,and he brought also the brasen altar1 which was before the ,,lord1 from the forefront of the house1 from between the altar and the house of the ,,lord1 and put it on the north side of the altar4 #ab3jaf3jae ,and king ,ahaz commanded ,urijah the priest1 saying1 ,upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering1 and the evening meat offering1 and the king's burnt sacrifice1 and his meat offering1 with the burnt offering of all the people of the land1 and their meat offering1 and their drink offerings2 and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering1 and all the blood of the sacrifice3 and the brasen altar shall be for me to enquire by4 #ab3jaf3jaf ,thus did ,urijah the priest1 according to all that king ,ahaz commanded4 #ab3jaf3jag ,and king ,ahaz cut off the borders of the bases1 and removed the laver from off them2 and took down the sea from off the brasen oxen that were under it1 and put it upon the pavement of stones4 #ab3jaf3jah ,and the covert for the sabbath that they had built in the house1 and the king's entry without1 turned he from the house of the ,,lord for the king of ,assyria4 #ab3jaf3jai ,now the rest of the acts of ,ahaz which he did1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,judah8 #ab3jaf3jbj ,and ,ahaz slept with his fathers1 and was buried with his fathers in the city of ,david3 and ,hezekiah his son reigned in his stead4 #ab3jag3jja ,in the twelfth year of ,ahaz king of ,judah began ,hoshea the son of ,elah to reign in ,samaria over ,israel nine years4 #ab3jag3jjb ,and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 but not as the kings of ,israel that were before him4 #ab3jag3jjc ,against him came up ,shalmaneser king of ,assyria2 and ,hoshea became his servant1 and gave him presents4 #ab3jag3jjd ,and the king of ,assyria found conspiracy in ,hoshea3 for he had sent messengers to ,so king of ,egypt1 and brought no present to the king of ,assyria1 as he had done year by year3 therefore the king of ,assyria shut him up1 and bound him in prison4 #ab3jag3jje ,then the king of ,assyria came up throughout all the land1 and went up to ,samaria1 and besieged it three years4 #ab3jag3jjf ,in the ninth year of ,hoshea the king of ,assyria took ,samaria1 and carried ,israel away into ,assyria1 and placed them in ,halah and in ,habor by the river of ,gozan1 and in the cities of the ,medes4 #ab3jag3jjg ,for so it was1 that the children of ,israel had sinned against the ,,lord their ,god1 which had brought them up out of the land of ,egypt1 from under the hand of ,pharaoh king of ,egypt1 and had feared other gods1 #ab3jag3jjh ,and walked in the statutes of the heathen1 whom the ,,lord cast out from before the children of ,israel1 and of the kings of ,israel1 which they had made4 #ab3jag3jji ,and the children of ,israel did secretly those things that were not right against the ,,lord their ,god1 and they built them high places in all their cities1 from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city4 #ab3jag3jaj ,and they set them up images and groves in every high hill1 and under every green tree3 #ab3jag3jaa ,and there they burnt incense in all the high places1 as did the heathen whom the ,,lord carried away before them2 and wrought wicked things to provoke the ,,lord to anger3 #ab3jag3jab ,for they served idols1 whereof the ,,lord had said unto them1 ,ye shall not do this thing4 #ab3jag3jac ,yet the ,,lord testified against ,israel1 and against ,judah1 by all the prophets1 and by all the seers1 saying1 ,turn ye from your evil ways1 and keep my commandments and my statutes1 according to all the law which ,i commanded your fathers1 and which ,i sent to you by my servants the prophets4 #ab3jag3jad ,notwithstanding they would not hear1 but hardened their necks1 like to the neck of their fathers1 that did not believe in the ,,lord their ,god4 #ab3jag3jae ,and they rejected his statutes1 and his covenant that he made with their fathers1 and his testimonies which he testified against them2 and they followed vanity1 and became vain1 and went after the heathen that were round about them1 concerning whom the ,,lord had charged them1 that they should not do like them4 #ab3jag3jaf ,and they left all the commandments of the ,,lord their ,god1 and made them molten images1 even two calves1 and made a grove1 and worshipped all the host of heaven1 and served ,baal4 #ab3jag3jag ,and they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire1 and used divination and enchantments1 and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 to provoke him to anger4 #ab3jag3jah ,therefore the ,,lord was very angry with ,israel1 and removed them out of his sight3 there was none left but the tribe of ,judah only4 #ab3jag3jai ,also ,judah kept not the commandments of the ,,lord their ,god1 but walked in the statutes of ,israel which they made4 #ab3jag3jbj ,and the ,,lord rejected all the seed of ,israel1 and afflicted them1 and delivered them into the hand of spoilers1 until he had cast them out of his sight4 #ab3jag3jba ,for he rent ,israel from the house of ,david2 and they made ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat king3 and ,jeroboam drave ,israel from following the ,,lord1 and made them sin a great sin4 #ab3jag3jbb ,for the children of ,israel walked in all the sins of ,jeroboam which he did2 they departed not from them2 #ab3jag3jbc ,until the ,,lord removed ,israel out of his sight1 as he had said by all his servants the prophets4 ,so was ,israel carried away out of their own land to ,assyria unto this day4 #ab3jag3jbd ,and the king of ,assyria brought men from ,babylon1 and from ,cuthah1 and from ,ava1 and from ,hamath1 and from ,sepharvaim1 and placed them in the cities of ,samaria instead of the children of ,israel3 and they possessed ,samaria1 and dwelt in the cities thereof4 #ab3jag3jbe ,and so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there1 that they feared not the ,,lord3 therefore the ,,lord sent lions among them1 which slew some of them4 #ab3jag3jbf ,wherefore they spake to the king of ,assyria1 saying1 ,the nations which thou hast removed1 and placed in the cities of ,samaria1 know not the manner of the ,god of the land3 therefore he hath sent lions among them1 and1 behold1 they slay them1 because they know not the manner of the ,god of the land4 #ab3jag3jbg ,then the king of ,assyria commanded1 saying1 ,carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence2 and let them go and dwell there1 and let him teach them the manner of the ,god of the land4 #ab3jag3jbh ,then one of the priests whom they had carried away from ,samaria came and dwelt in ,bethel1 and taught them how they should fear the ,,lord4 #ab3jag3jbi ,howbeit every nation made gods of their own1 and put them in the houses of the high places which the ,samaritans had made1 every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt4 #ab3jag3jcj ,and the men of ,babylon made ,succothbenoth1 and the men of ,cuth made ,nergal1 and the men of ,hamath made ,ashima1 #ab3jag3jca ,and the ,avites made ,nibhaz and ,tartak1 and the ,sepharvites burnt their children in fire to ,adrammelech and ,anammelech1 the gods of ,sepharvaim4 #ab3jag3jcb ,so they feared the ,,lord1 and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places1 which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places4 #ab3jag3jcc ,they feared the ,,lord1 and served their own gods1 after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence4 #ab3jag3jcd ,unto this day they do after the former manners3 they fear not the ,,lord1 neither do they after their statutes1 or after their ordinances1 or after the law and commandment which the ,,lord commanded the children of ,jacob1 whom he named ,israel2 #ab3jag3jce ,with whom the ,,lord had made a covenant1 and charged them1 saying1 ,ye shall not fear other gods1 nor bow yourselves to them1 nor serve them1 nor sacrifice to them3 #ab3jag3jcf ,but the ,,lord1 who brought you up out of the land of ,egypt with great power and a stretched out arm1 him shall ye fear1 and him shall ye worship1 and to him shall ye do sacrifice4 #ab3jag3jcg ,and the statutes1 and the ordinances1 and the law1 and the commandment1 which he wrote for you1 ye shall observe to do for evermore2 and ye shall not fear other gods4 #ab3jag3jch ,and the covenant that ,i have made with you ye shall not forget2 neither shall ye fear other gods4 #ab3jag3jci ,but the ,,lord your ,god ye shall fear2 and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies4 #ab3jag3jdj ,howbeit they did not hearken1 but they did after their former manner4 #ab3jag3jda ,so these nations feared the ,,lord1 and served their graven images1 both their children1 and their children's children3 as did their fathers1 so do they unto this day4 #ab3jah3jja ,now it came to pass in the third year of ,hoshea son of ,elah king of ,israel1 that ,hezekiah the son of ,ahaz king of ,judah began to reign4 #ab3jah3jjb ,twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign2 and he reigned twenty and nine years in ,jerusalem4 ,his mother's name also was ,abi1 the daughter of ,zachariah4 #ab3jah3jjc ,and he did that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord1 according to all that ,david his father did4 #ab3jah3jjd ,he removed the high places1 and brake the images1 and cut down the groves1 and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that ,moses had made3 for unto those days the children of ,israel did burn incense to it3 and he called it ,nehushtan4 #ab3jah3jje ,he trusted in the ,,lord ,god of ,israel2 so that after him was none like him among all the kings of ,judah1 nor any that were before him4 #ab3jah3jjf ,for he clave to the ,,lord1 and departed not from following him1 but kept his commandments1 which the ,,lord commanded ,moses4 #ab3jah3jjg ,and the ,,lord was with him2 and he prospered whithersoever he went forth3 and he rebelled against the king of ,assyria1 and served him not4 #ab3jah3jjh ,he smote the ,philistines1 even unto ,gaza1 and the borders thereof1 from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city4 #ab3jah3jji ,and it came to pass in the fourth year of king ,hezekiah1 which was the seventh year of ,hoshea son of ,elah king of ,israel1 that ,shalmaneser king of ,assyria came up against ,samaria1 and besieged it4 #ab3jah3jaj ,and at the end of three years they took it3 even in the sixth year of ,hezekiah1 that is in the ninth year of ,hoshea king of ,israel1 ,samaria was taken4 #ab3jah3jaa ,and the king of ,assyria did carry away ,israel unto ,assyria1 and put them in ,halah and in ,habor by the river of ,gozan1 and in the cities of the ,medes3 #ab3jah3jab ,because they obeyed not the voice of the ,,lord their ,god1 but transgressed his covenant1 and all that ,moses the servant of the ,,lord commanded1 and would not hear them1 nor do them4 #ab3jah3jac ,now in the fourteenth year of king ,hezekiah did ,sennacherib king of ,assyria come up against all the fenced cities of ,judah1 and took them4 #ab3jah3jad ,and ,hezekiah king of ,judah sent to the king of ,assyria to ,lachish1 saying1 ,i have offended2 return from me3 that which thou puttest on me will ,i bear4 ,and the king of ,assyria appointed unto ,hezekiah king of ,judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold4 #ab3jah3jae ,and ,hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of the ,,lord1 and in the treasures of the king's house4 #ab3jah3jaf ,at that time did ,hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the ,,lord1 and from the pillars which ,hezekiah king of ,judah had overlaid1 and gave it to the king of ,assyria4 #ab3jah3jag ,and the king of ,assyria sent ,tartan and ,rabsaris and ,rabshakeh from ,lachish to king ,hezekiah with a great host against ,jerusalem4 ,and they went up and came to ,jerusalem4 ,and when they were come up1 they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool1 which is in the highway of the fuller's field4 #ab3jah3jah ,and when they had called to the king1 there came out to them ,eliakim the son of ,hilkiah1 which was over the household1 and ,shebna the scribe1 and ,joah the son of ,asaph the recorder4 #ab3jah3jai ,and ,rabshakeh said unto them1 ,speak ye now to ,hezekiah1 ,thus saith the great king1 the king of ,assyria1 ,what confidence is this wherein thou trustest8 #ab3jah3jbj ,thou sayest1 7but they are but vain words17 ,i have counsel and strength for the war4 ,now on whom dost thou trust1 that thou rebellest against me8 #ab3jah3jba ,now1 behold1 thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed1 even upon ,egypt1 on which if a man lean1 it will go into his hand1 and pierce it3 so is ,pharaoh king of ,egypt unto all that trust on him4 #ab3jah3jbb ,but if ye say unto me1 ,we trust in the ,,lord our ,god3 is not that he1 whose high places and whose altars ,hezekiah hath taken away1 and hath said to ,judah and ,jerusalem1 ,ye shall worship before this altar in ,jerusalem8 #ab3jah3jbc ,now therefore1 ,i pray thee1 give pledges to my lord the king of ,assyria1 and ,i will deliver thee two thousand horses1 if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them4 #ab3jah3jbd ,how then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master's servants1 and put thy trust on ,egypt for chariots and for horsemen8 #ab3jah3jbe ,am ,i now come up without the ,,lord against this place to destroy it8 ,the ,,lord said to me1 ,go up against this land1 and destroy it4 #ab3jah3jbf ,then said ,eliakim the son of ,hilkiah1 and ,shebna1 and ,joah1 unto ,rabshakeh1 ,speak1 ,i pray thee1 to thy servants in the ,syrian language2 for we understand it3 and talk not with us in the ,jews' language in the ears of the people that are on the wall4 #ab3jah3jbg ,but ,rabshakeh said unto them1 ,hath my master sent me to thy master1 and to thee1 to speak these words8 hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall1 that they may eat their own dung1 and drink their own piss with you8 #ab3jah3jbh ,then ,rabshakeh stood and cried with a loud voice in the ,jews' language1 and spake1 saying1 ,hear the word of the great king1 the king of ,assyria3 #ab3jah3jbi ,thus saith the king1 ,let not ,hezekiah deceive you3 for he shall not be able to deliver you out of his hand3 #ab3jah3jcj ,neither let ,hezekiah make you trust in the ,,lord1 saying1 ,the ,,lord will surely deliver us1 and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of ,assyria4 #ab3jah3jca ,hearken not to ,hezekiah3 for thus saith the king of ,assyria1 ,make an agreement with me by a present1 and come out to me1 and then eat ye every man of his own vine1 and every one of his fig tree1 and drink ye every one the waters of his cistern3 #ab3jah3jcb ,until ,i come and take you away to a land like your own land1 a land of corn and wine1 a land of bread and vineyards1 a land of oil olive and of honey1 that ye may live1 and not die3 and hearken not unto ,hezekiah1 when he persuadeth you1 saying1 ,the ,,lord will deliver us4 #ab3jah3jcc ,hath any of the gods of the nations delivered at all his land out of the hand of the king of ,assyria8 #ab3jah3jcd ,where are the gods of ,hamath1 and of ,arpad8 where are the gods of ,sepharvaim1 ,hena1 and ,ivah8 have they delivered ,samaria out of mine hand8 #ab3jah3jce ,who are they among all the gods of the countries1 that have delivered their country out of mine hand1 that the ,,lord should deliver ,jerusalem out of mine hand8 #ab3jah3jcf ,but the people held their peace1 and answered him not a word3 for the king's commandment was1 saying1 ,answer him not4 #ab3jah3jcg ,then came ,eliakim the son of ,hilkiah1 which was over the household1 and ,shebna the scribe1 and ,joah the son of ,asaph the recorder1 to ,hezekiah with their clothes rent1 and told him the words of ,rabshakeh4 #ab3jai3jja ,and it came to pass1 when king ,hezekiah heard it1 that he rent his clothes1 and covered himself with sackcloth1 and went into the house of the ,,lord4 #ab3jai3jjb ,and he sent ,eliakim1 which was over the household1 and ,shebna the scribe1 and the elders of the priests1 covered with sackcloth1 to ,isaiah the prophet the son of ,amoz4 #ab3jai3jjc ,and they said unto him1 ,thus saith ,hezekiah1 ,this day is a day of trouble1 and of rebuke1 and blasphemy2 for the children are come to the birth1 and there is not strength to bring forth4 #ab3jai3jjd ,it may be the ,,lord thy ,god will hear all the words of ,rabshakeh1 whom the king of ,assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living ,god2 and will reprove the words which the ,,lord thy ,god hath heard3 wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left4 #ab3jai3jje ,so the servants of king ,hezekiah came to ,isaiah4 #ab3jai3jjf ,and ,isaiah said unto them1 ,thus shall ye say to your master1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard1 with which the servants of the king of ,assyria have blasphemed me4 #ab3jai3jjg ,behold1 ,i will send a blast upon him1 and he shall hear a rumour1 and shall return to his own land2 and ,i will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land4 #ab3jai3jjh ,so ,rabshakeh returned1 and found the king of ,assyria warring against ,libnah3 for he had heard that he was departed from ,lachish4 #ab3jai3jji ,and when he heard say of ,tirhakah king of ,ethiopia1 ,behold1 he is come out to fight against thee3 he sent messengers again unto ,hezekiah1 saying1 #ab3jai3jaj ,thus shall ye speak to ,hezekiah king of ,judah1 saying1 ,let not thy ,god in whom thou trustest deceive thee1 saying1 ,jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of ,assyria4 #ab3jai3jaa ,behold1 thou hast heard what the kings of ,assyria have done to all lands1 by destroying them utterly3 and shalt thou be delivered8 #ab3jai3jab ,have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed2 as ,gozan1 and ,haran1 and ,rezeph1 and the children of ,eden which were in ,thelasar8 #ab3jai3jac ,where is the king of ,hamath1 and the king of ,arpad1 and the king of the city of ,sepharvaim1 of ,hena1 and ,ivah8 #ab3jai3jad ,and ,hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers1 and read it3 and ,hezekiah went up into the house of the ,,lord1 and spread it before the ,,lord4 #ab3jai3jae ,and ,hezekiah prayed before the ,,lord1 and said1 ,o ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 which dwellest between the cherubims1 thou art the ,god1 even thou alone1 of all the kingdoms of the earth2 thou hast made heaven and earth4 #ab3jai3jaf ,,lord1 bow down thine ear1 and hear3 open1 ,,lord1 thine eyes1 and see3 and hear the words of ,sennacherib1 which hath sent him to reproach the living ,god4 #ab3jai3jag ,of a truth1 ,,lord1 the kings of ,assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands1 #ab3jai3jah ,and have cast their gods into the fire3 for they were no gods1 but the work of men's hands1 wood and stone3 therefore they have destroyed them4 #ab3jai3jai ,now therefore1 ,o ,,lord our ,god1 ,i beseech thee1 save thou us out of his hand1 that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the ,,lord ,god1 even thou only4 #ab3jai3jbj ,then ,isaiah the son of ,amoz sent to ,hezekiah1 saying1 ,thus saith the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 ,that which thou hast prayed to me against ,sennacherib king of ,assyria ,i have heard4 #ab3jai3jba ,this is the word that the ,,lord hath spoken concerning him2 ,the virgin the daughter of ,zion hath despised thee1 and laughed thee to scorn2 the daughter of ,jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee4 #ab3jai3jbb ,whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed8 and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice1 and lifted up thine eyes on high8 even against the ,holy ,one of ,israel4 #ab3jai3jbc ,by thy messengers thou hast reproached the ,,lord1 and hast said1 ,with the multitude of my chariots ,i am come up to the height of the mountains1 to the sides of ,lebanon1 and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof1 and the choice fir trees thereof3 and ,i will enter into the lodgings of his borders1 and into the forest of his ,carmel4 #ab3jai3jbd ,i have digged and drunk strange waters1 and with the sole of my feet have ,i dried up all the rivers of besieged places4 #ab3jai3jbe ,hast thou not heard long ago how ,i have done it1 and of ancient times that ,i have formed it8 now have ,i brought it to pass1 that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps4 #ab3jai3jbf ,therefore their inhabitants were of small power1 they were dismayed and confounded2 they were as the grass of the field1 and as the green herb1 as the grass on the house tops1 and as corn blasted before it be grown up4 #ab3jai3jbg ,but ,i know thy abode1 and thy going out1 and thy coming in1 and thy rage against me4 #ab3jai3jbh ,because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears1 therefore ,i will put my hook in thy nose1 and my bridle in thy lips1 and ,i will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest4 #ab3jai3jbi ,and this shall be a sign unto thee1 ,ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves1 and in the second year that which springeth of the same2 and in the third year sow ye1 and reap1 and plant vineyards1 and eat the fruits thereof4 #ab3jai3jcj ,and the remnant that is escaped of the house of ,judah shall yet again take root downward1 and bear fruit upward4 #ab3jai3jca ,for out of ,jerusalem shall go forth a remnant1 and they that escape out of mount ,zion3 the zeal of the ,,lord of hosts shall do this4 #ab3jai3jcb ,therefore thus saith the ,,lord concerning the king of ,assyria1 ,he shall not come into this city1 nor shoot an arrow there1 nor come before it with shield1 nor cast a bank against it4 #ab3jai3jcc ,by the way that he came1 by the same shall he return1 and shall not come into this city1 saith the ,,lord4 #ab3jai3jcd ,for ,i will defend this city1 to save it1 for mine own sake1 and for my servant ,david's sake4 #ab3jai3jce ,and it came to pass that night1 that the angel of the ,,lord went out1 and smote in the camp of the ,assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand3 and when they arose early in the morning1 behold1 they were all dead corpses4 #ab3jai3jcf ,so ,sennacherib king of ,assyria departed1 and went and returned1 and dwelt at ,nineveh4 #ab3jai3jcg ,and it came to pass1 as he was worshipping in the house of ,nisroch his god1 that ,adrammelech and ,sharezer his sons smote him with the sword3 and they escaped into the land of ,armenia4 ,and ,esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead4 #ab3jbj3jja ,in those days was ,hezekiah sick unto death4 ,and the prophet ,isaiah the son of ,amoz came to him1 and said unto him1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,set thine house in order2 for thou shalt die1 and not live4 #ab3jbj3jjb ,then he turned his face to the wall1 and prayed unto the ,,lord1 saying1 #ab3jbj3jjc ,i beseech thee1 ,o ,,lord1 remember now how ,i have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart1 and have done that which is good in thy sight4 ,and ,hezekiah wept sore4 #ab3jbj3jjd ,and it came to pass1 afore ,isaiah was gone out into the middle court1 that the word of the ,,lord came to him1 saying1 #ab3jbj3jje ,turn again1 and tell ,hezekiah the captain of my people1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 the ,god of ,david thy father1 ,i have heard thy prayer1 ,i have seen thy tears3 behold1 ,i will heal thee3 on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the ,,lord4 #ab3jbj3jjf ,and ,i will add unto thy days fifteen years2 and ,i will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of ,assyria2 and ,i will defend this city for mine own sake1 and for my servant ,david's sake4 #ab3jbj3jjg ,and ,isaiah said1 ,take a lump of figs4 ,and they took and laid it on the boil1 and he recovered4 #ab3jbj3jjh ,and ,hezekiah said unto ,isaiah1 ,what shall be the sign that the ,,lord will heal me1 and that ,i shall go up into the house of the ,,lord the third day8 #ab3jbj3jji ,and ,isaiah said1 ,this sign shalt thou have of the ,,lord1 that the ,,lord will do the thing that he hath spoken3 shall the shadow go forward ten degrees1 or go back ten degrees8 #ab3jbj3jaj ,and ,hezekiah answered1 ,it is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees3 nay1 but let the shadow return backward ten degrees4 #ab3jbj3jaa ,and ,isaiah the prophet cried unto the ,,lord3 and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward1 by which it had gone down in the dial of ,ahaz4 #ab3jbj3jab ,at that time ,berodachbaladan1 the son of ,baladan1 king of ,babylon1 sent letters and a present unto ,hezekiah3 for he had heard that ,hezekiah had been sick4 #ab3jbj3jac ,and ,hezekiah hearkened unto them1 and shewed them all the house of his precious things1 the silver1 and the gold1 and the spices1 and the precious ointment1 and all the house of his armour1 and all that was found in his treasures3 there was nothing in his house1 nor in all his dominion1 that ,hezekiah shewed them not4 #ab3jbj3jad ,then came ,isaiah the prophet unto king ,hezekiah1 and said unto him1 ,what said these men8 and from whence came they unto thee8 ,and ,hezekiah said1 ,they are come from a far country1 even from ,babylon4 #ab3jbj3jae ,and he said1 ,what have they seen in thine house8 ,and ,hezekiah answered1 ,all the things that are in mine house have they seen3 there is nothing among my treasures that ,i have not shewed them4 #ab3jbj3jaf ,and ,isaiah said unto ,hezekiah1 ,hear the word of the ,,lord4 #ab3jbj3jag ,behold1 the days come1 that all that is in thine house1 and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day1 shall be carried into ,babylon3 nothing shall be left1 saith the ,,lord4 #ab3jbj3jah ,and of thy sons that shall issue from thee1 which thou shalt beget1 shall they take away2 and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of ,babylon4 #ab3jbj3jai ,then said ,hezekiah unto ,isaiah1 ,good is the word of the ,,lord which thou hast spoken4 ,and he said1 ,is it not good1 if peace and truth be in my days8 #ab3jbj3jbj ,and the rest of the acts of ,hezekiah1 and all his might1 and how he made a pool1 and a conduit1 and brought water into the city1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,judah8 #ab3jbj3jba ,and ,hezekiah slept with his fathers3 and ,manasseh his son reigned in his stead4 #ab3jba3jja ,manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign1 and reigned fifty and five years in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,hephzibah4 #ab3jba3jjb ,and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 after the abominations of the heathen1 whom the ,,lord cast out before the children of ,israel4 #ab3jba3jjc ,for he built up again the high places which ,hezekiah his father had destroyed2 and he reared up altars for ,baal1 and made a grove1 as did ,ahab king of ,israel2 and worshipped all the host of heaven1 and served them4 #ab3jba3jjd ,and he built altars in the house of the ,,lord1 of which the ,,lord said1 ,in ,jerusalem will ,i put my name4 #ab3jba3jje ,and he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the ,,lord4 #ab3jba3jjf ,and he made his son pass through the fire1 and observed times1 and used enchantments1 and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards3 he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the ,,lord1 to provoke him to anger4 #ab3jba3jjg ,and he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house1 of which the ,,lord said to ,david1 and to ,solomon his son1 ,in this house1 and in ,jerusalem1 which ,i have chosen out of all tribes of ,israel1 will ,i put my name for ever3 #ab3jba3jjh ,neither will ,i make the feet of ,israel move any more out of the land which ,i gave their fathers2 only if they will observe to do according to all that ,i have commanded them1 and according to all the law that my servant ,moses commanded them4 #ab3jba3jji ,but they hearkened not3 and ,manasseh seduced them to do more evil than did the nations whom the ,,lord destroyed before the children of ,israel4 #ab3jba3jaj ,and the ,,lord spake by his servants the prophets1 saying1 #ab3jba3jaa ,because ,manasseh king of ,judah hath done these abominations1 and hath done wickedly above all that the ,amorites did1 which were before him1 and hath made ,judah also to sin with his idols3 #ab3jba3jab ,therefore thus saith the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 ,behold1 ,i am bringing such evil upon ,jerusalem and ,judah1 that whosoever heareth of it1 both his ears shall tingle4 #ab3jba3jac ,and ,i will stretch over ,jerusalem the line of ,samaria1 and the plummet of the house of ,ahab3 and ,i will wipe ,jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish1 wiping it1 and turning it upside down4 #ab3jba3jad ,and ,i will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance1 and deliver them into the hand of their enemies2 and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies2 #ab3jba3jae ,because they have done that which was evil in my sight1 and have provoked me to anger1 since the day their fathers came forth out of ,egypt1 even unto this day4 #ab3jba3jaf ,moreover ,manasseh shed innocent blood very much1 till he had filled ,jerusalem from one end to another2 beside his sin wherewith he made ,judah to sin1 in doing that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord4 #ab3jba3jag ,now the rest of the acts of ,manasseh1 and all that he did1 and his sin that he sinned1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,judah8 #ab3jba3jah ,and ,manasseh slept with his fathers1 and was buried in the garden of his own house1 in the garden of ,uzza3 and ,amon his son reigned in his stead4 #ab3jba3jai ,amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned two years in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,meshullemeth1 the daughter of ,haruz of ,jotbah4 #ab3jba3jbj ,and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 as his father ,manasseh did4 #ab3jba3jba ,and he walked in all the way that his father walked in1 and served the idols that his father served1 and worshipped them3 #ab3jba3jbb ,and he forsook the ,,lord ,god of his fathers1 and walked not in the way of the ,,lord4 #ab3jba3jbc ,and the servants of ,amon conspired against him1 and slew the king in his own house4 #ab3jba3jbd ,and the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king ,amon2 and the people of the land made ,josiah his son king in his stead4 #ab3jba3jbe ,now the rest of the acts of ,amon which he did1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,judah8 #ab3jba3jbf ,and he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of ,uzza3 and ,josiah his son reigned in his stead4 #ab3jbb3jja ,josiah was eight years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned thirty and one years in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,jedidah1 the daughter of ,adaiah of ,boscath4 #ab3jbb3jjb ,and he did that which was right in the sight of the ,,lord1 and walked in all the way of ,david his father1 and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left4 #ab3jbb3jjc ,and it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king ,josiah1 that the king sent ,shaphan the son of ,azaliah1 the son of ,meshullam1 the scribe1 to the house of the ,,lord1 saying1 #ab3jbb3jjd ,go up to ,hilkiah the high priest1 that he may sum the silver which is brought into the house of the ,,lord1 which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people3 #ab3jbb3jje ,and let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work1 that have the oversight of the house of the ,,lord3 and let them give it to the doers of the work which is in the house of the ,,lord1 to repair the breaches of the house1 #ab3jbb3jjf ,unto carpenters1 and builders1 and masons1 and to buy timber and hewn stone to repair the house4 #ab3jbb3jjg ,howbeit there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand1 because they dealt faithfully4 #ab3jbb3jjh ,and ,hilkiah the high priest said unto ,shaphan the scribe1 ,i have found the book of the law in the house of the ,,lord4 ,and ,hilkiah gave the book to ,shaphan1 and he read it4 #ab3jbb3jji ,and ,shaphan the scribe came to the king1 and brought the king word again1 and said1 ,thy servants have gathered the money that was found in the house1 and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work1 that have the oversight of the house of the ,,lord4 #ab3jbb3jaj ,and ,shaphan the scribe shewed the king1 saying1 ,hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book4 ,and ,shaphan read it before the king4 #ab3jbb3jaa ,and it came to pass1 when the king had heard the words of the book of the law1 that he rent his clothes4 #ab3jbb3jab ,and the king commanded ,hilkiah the priest1 and ,ahikam the son of ,shaphan1 and ,achbor the son of ,michaiah1 and ,shaphan the scribe1 and ,asahiah a servant of the king's1 saying1 #ab3jbb3jac ,go ye1 enquire of the ,,lord for me1 and for the people1 and for all ,judah1 concerning the words of this book that is found3 for great is the wrath of the ,,lord that is kindled against us1 because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book1 to do according unto all that which is written concerning us4 #ab3jbb3jad ,so ,hilkiah the priest1 and ,ahikam1 and ,achbor1 and ,shaphan1 and ,asahiah1 went unto ,huldah the prophetess1 the wife of ,shallum the son of ,tikvah1 the son of ,harhas1 keeper of the wardrobe2 7now she dwelt in ,jerusalem in the college27 and they communed with her4 #ab3jbb3jae ,and she said unto them1 ,thus saith the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 ,tell the man that sent you to me1 #ab3jbb3jaf ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,behold1 ,i will bring evil upon this place1 and upon the inhabitants thereof1 even all the words of the book which the king of ,judah hath read3 #ab3jbb3jag ,because they have forsaken me1 and have burned incense unto other gods1 that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands2 therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place1 and shall not be quenched4 #ab3jbb3jah ,but to the king of ,judah which sent you to enquire of the ,,lord1 thus shall ye say to him1 ,thus saith the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 ,as touching the words which thou hast heard2 #ab3jbb3jai ,because thine heart was tender1 and thou hast humbled thyself before the ,,lord1 when thou heardest what ,i spake against this place1 and against the inhabitants thereof1 that they should become a desolation and a curse1 and hast rent thy clothes1 and wept before me2 ,i also have heard thee1 saith the ,,lord4 #ab3jbb3jbj ,behold therefore1 ,i will gather thee unto thy fathers1 and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace2 and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which ,i will bring upon this place4 ,and they brought the king word again4 #ab3jbc3jja ,and the king sent1 and they gathered unto him all the elders of ,judah and of ,jerusalem4 #ab3jbc3jjb ,and the king went up into the house of the ,,lord1 and all the men of ,judah and all the inhabitants of ,jerusalem with him1 and the priests1 and the prophets1 and all the people1 both small and great3 and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the ,,lord4 #ab3jbc3jjc ,and the king stood by a pillar1 and made a covenant before the ,,lord1 to walk after the ,,lord1 and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul1 to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book4 ,and all the people stood to the covenant4 #ab3jbc3jjd ,and the king commanded ,hilkiah the high priest1 and the priests of the second order1 and the keepers of the door1 to bring forth out of the temple of the ,,lord all the vessels that were made for ,baal1 and for the grove1 and for all the host of heaven3 and he burned them without ,jerusalem in the fields of ,kidron1 and carried the ashes of them unto ,bethel4 #ab3jbc3jje ,and he put down the idolatrous priests1 whom the kings of ,judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of ,judah1 and in the places round about ,jerusalem2 them also that burned incense unto ,baal1 to the sun1 and to the moon1 and to the planets1 and to all the host of heaven4 #ab3jbc3jjf ,and he brought out the grove from the house of the ,,lord1 without ,jerusalem1 unto the brook ,kidron1 and burned it at the brook ,kidron1 and stamped it small to powder1 and cast the powder thereof upon the graves of the children of the people4 #ab3jbc3jjg ,and he brake down the houses of the sodomites1 that were by the house of the ,,lord1 where the women wove hangings for the grove4 #ab3jbc3jjh ,and he brought all the priests out of the cities of ,judah1 and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense1 from ,geba to ,beersheba1 and brake down the high places of the gates that were in the entering in of the gate of ,joshua the governor of the city1 which were on a man's left hand at the gate of the city4 #ab3jbc3jji ,nevertheless the priests of the high places came not up to the altar of the ,,lord in ,jerusalem1 but they did eat of the unleavened bread among their brethren4 #ab3jbc3jaj ,and he defiled ,topheth1 which is in the valley of the children of ,hinnom1 that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to ,molech4 #ab3jbc3jaa ,and he took away the horses that the kings of ,judah had given to the sun1 at the entering in of the house of the ,,lord1 by the chamber of ,nathanmelech the chamberlain1 which was in the suburbs1 and burned the chariots of the sun with fire4 #ab3jbc3jab ,and the altars that were on the top of the upper chamber of ,ahaz1 which the kings of ,judah had made1 and the altars which ,manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the ,,lord1 did the king beat down1 and brake them down from thence1 and cast the dust of them into the brook ,kidron4 #ab3jbc3jac ,and the high places that were before ,jerusalem1 which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption1 which ,solomon the king of ,israel had builded for ,ashtoreth the abomination of the ,zidonians1 and for ,chemosh the abomination of the ,moabites1 and for ,milcom the abomination of the children of ,ammon1 did the king defile4 #ab3jbc3jad ,and he brake in pieces the images1 and cut down the groves1 and filled their places with the bones of men4 #ab3jbc3jae ,moreover the altar that was at ,bethel1 and the high place which ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 who made ,israel to sin1 had made1 both that altar and the high place he brake down1 and burned the high place1 and stamped it small to powder1 and burned the grove4 #ab3jbc3jaf ,and as ,josiah turned himself1 he spied the sepulchres that were there in the mount1 and sent1 and took the bones out of the sepulchres1 and burned them upon the altar1 and polluted it1 according to the word of the ,,lord which the man of ,god proclaimed1 who proclaimed these words4 #ab3jbc3jag ,then he said1 ,what title is that that ,i see8 ,and the men of the city told him1 ,it is the sepulchre of the man of ,god1 which came from ,judah1 and proclaimed these things that thou hast done against the altar of ,bethel4 #ab3jbc3jah ,and he said1 ,let him alone2 let no man move his bones4 ,so they let his bones alone1 with the bones of the prophet that came out of ,samaria4 #ab3jbc3jai ,and all the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of ,samaria1 which the kings of ,israel had made to provoke the ,lord to anger1 ,josiah took away1 and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in ,bethel4 #ab3jbc3jbj ,and he slew all the priests of the high places that were there upon the altars1 and burned men's bones upon them1 and returned to ,jerusalem4 #ab3jbc3jba ,and the king commanded all the people1 saying1 ,keep the passover unto the ,,lord your ,god1 as it is written in the book of this covenant4 #ab3jbc3jbb ,surely there was not holden such a passover from the days of the judges that judged ,israel1 nor in all the days of the kings of ,israel1 nor of the kings of ,judah2 #ab3jbc3jbc ,but in the eighteenth year of king ,josiah1 wherein this passover was holden to the ,,lord in ,jerusalem4 #ab3jbc3jbd ,moreover the workers with familiar spirits1 and the wizards1 and the images1 and the idols1 and all the abominations that were spied in the land of ,judah and in ,jerusalem1 did ,josiah put away1 that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that ,hilkiah the priest found in the house of the ,,lord4 #ab3jbc3jbe ,and like unto him was there no king before him1 that turned to the ,,lord with all his heart1 and with all his soul1 and with all his might1 according to all the law of ,moses2 neither after him arose there any like him4 #ab3jbc3jbf ,notwithstanding the ,,lord turned not from the fierceness of his great wrath1 wherewith his anger was kindled against ,judah1 because of all the provocations that ,manasseh had provoked him withal4 #ab3jbc3jbg ,and the ,,lord said1 ,i will remove ,judah also out of my sight1 as ,i have removed ,israel1 and will cast off this city ,jerusalem which ,i have chosen1 and the house of which ,i said1 ,my name shall be there4 #ab3jbc3jbh ,now the rest of the acts of ,josiah1 and all that he did1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,judah8 #ab3jbc3jbi ,in his days ,pharaohnechoh king of ,egypt went up against the king of ,assyria to the river ,euphrates3 and king ,josiah went against him2 and he slew him at ,megiddo1 when he had seen him4 #ab3jbc3jcj ,and his servants carried him in a chariot dead from ,megiddo1 and brought him to ,jerusalem1 and buried him in his own sepulchre4 ,and the people of the land took ,jehoahaz the son of ,josiah1 and anointed him1 and made him king in his father's stead4 #ab3jbc3jca ,jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign2 and he reigned three months in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,hamutal1 the daughter of ,jeremiah of ,libnah4 #ab3jbc3jcb ,and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 according to all that his fathers had done4 #ab3jbc3jcc ,and ,pharaohnechoh put him in bands at ,riblah in the land of ,hamath1 that he might not reign in ,jerusalem2 and put the land to a tribute of an hundred talents of silver1 and a talent of gold4 #ab3jbc3jcd ,and ,pharaohnechoh made ,eliakim the son of ,josiah king in the room of ,josiah his father1 and turned his name to ,jehoiakim1 and took ,jehoahaz away3 and he came to ,egypt1 and died there4 #ab3jbc3jce ,and ,jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to ,pharaoh2 but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of ,pharaoh3 he exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land1 of every one according to his taxation1 to give it unto ,pharaohnechoh4 #ab3jbc3jcf ,jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign2 and he reigned eleven years in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,zebudah1 the daughter of ,pedaiah of ,rumah4 #ab3jbc3jcg ,and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 according to all that his fathers had done4 #ab3jbd3jja ,in his days ,nebuchadnezzar king of ,babylon came up1 and ,jehoiakim became his servant three years3 then he turned and rebelled against him4 #ab3jbd3jjb ,and the ,,lord sent against him bands of the ,chaldees1 and bands of the ,syrians1 and bands of the ,moabites1 and bands of the children of ,ammon1 and sent them against ,judah to destroy it1 according to the word of the ,,lord1 which he spake by his servants the prophets4 #ab3jbd3jjc ,surely at the commandment of the ,,lord came this upon ,judah1 to remove them out of his sight1 for the sins of ,manasseh1 according to all that he did2 #ab3jbd3jjd ,and also for the innocent blood that he shed3 for he filled ,jerusalem with innocent blood2 which the ,,lord would not pardon4 #ab3jbd3jje ,now the rest of the acts of ,jehoiakim1 and all that he did1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,judah8 #ab3jbd3jjf ,so ,jehoiakim slept with his fathers3 and ,jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead4 #ab3jbd3jjg ,and the king of ,egypt came not again any more out of his land3 for the king of ,babylon had taken from the river of ,egypt unto the river ,euphrates all that pertained to the king of ,egypt4 #ab3jbd3jjh ,jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned in ,jerusalem three months4 ,and his mother's name was ,nehushta1 the daughter of ,elnathan of ,jerusalem4 #ab3jbd3jji ,and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 according to all that his father had done4 #ab3jbd3jaj ,at that time the servants of ,nebuchadnezzar king of ,babylon came up against ,jerusalem1 and the city was besieged4 #ab3jbd3jaa ,and ,nebuchadnezzar king of ,babylon came against the city1 and his servants did besiege it4 #ab3jbd3jab ,and ,jehoiachin the king of ,judah went out to the king of ,babylon1 he1 and his mother1 and his servants1 and his princes1 and his officers3 and the king of ,babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign4 #ab3jbd3jac ,and he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the ,,lord1 and the treasures of the king's house1 and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which ,solomon king of ,israel had made in the temple of the ,,lord1 as the ,,lord had said4 #ab3jbd3jad ,and he carried away all ,jerusalem1 and all the princes1 and all the mighty men of valour1 even ten thousand captives1 and all the craftsmen and smiths3 none remained1 save the poorest sort of the people of the land4 #ab3jbd3jae ,and he carried away ,jehoiachin to ,babylon1 and the king's mother1 and the king's wives1 and his officers1 and the mighty of the land1 those carried he into captivity from ,jerusalem to ,babylon4 #ab3jbd3jaf ,and all the men of might1 even seven thousand1 and craftsmen and smiths a thousand1 all that were strong and apt for war1 even them the king of ,babylon brought captive to ,babylon4 #ab3jbd3jag ,and the king of ,babylon made ,mattaniah his father's brother king in his stead1 and changed his name to ,zedekiah4 #ab3jbd3jah ,zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned eleven years in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,hamutal1 the daughter of ,jeremiah of ,libnah4 #ab3jbd3jai ,and he did that which was evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 according to all that ,jehoiakim had done4 #ab3jbd3jbj ,for through the anger of the ,,lord it came to pass in ,jerusalem and ,judah1 until he had cast them out from his presence1 that ,zedekiah rebelled against the king of ,babylon4 #ab3jbe3jja ,and it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign1 in the tenth month1 in the tenth day of the month1 that ,nebuchadnezzar king of ,babylon came1 he1 and all his host1 against ,jerusalem1 and pitched against it2 and they built forts against it round about4 #ab3jbe3jjb ,and the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king ,zedekiah4 #ab3jbe3jjc ,and on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city1 and there was no bread for the people of the land4 #ab3jbe3jjd ,and the city was broken up1 and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between two walls1 which is by the king's garden3 7now the ,chaldees were against the city round about37 and the king went the way toward the plain4 #ab3jbe3jje ,and the army of the ,chaldees pursued after the king1 and overtook him in the plains of ,jericho3 and all his army were scattered from him4 #ab3jbe3jjf ,so they took the king1 and brought him up to the king of ,babylon to ,riblah2 and they gave judgment upon him4 #ab3jbe3jjg ,and they slew the sons of ,zedekiah before his eyes1 and put out the eyes of ,zedekiah1 and bound him with fetters of brass1 and carried him to ,babylon4 #ab3jbe3jjh ,and in the fifth month1 on the seventh day of the month1 which is the nineteenth year of king ,nebuchadnezzar king of ,babylon1 came ,nebuzaradan1 captain of the guard1 a servant of the king of ,babylon1 unto ,jerusalem3 #ab3jbe3jji ,and he burnt the house of the ,,lord1 and the king's house1 and all the houses of ,jerusalem1 and every great man's house burnt he with fire4 #ab3jbe3jaj ,and all the army of the ,chaldees1 that were with the captain of the guard1 brake down the walls of ,jerusalem round about4 #ab3jbe3jaa ,now the rest of the people that were left in the city1 and the fugitives that fell away to the king of ,babylon1 with the remnant of the multitude1 did ,nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away4 #ab3jbe3jab ,but the captain of the guard left of the door of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen4 #ab3jbe3jac ,and the pillars of brass that were in the house of the ,,lord1 and the bases1 and the brasen sea that was in the house of the ,,lord1 did the ,chaldees break in pieces1 and carried the brass of them to ,babylon4 #ab3jbe3jad ,and the pots1 and the shovels1 and the snuffers1 and the spoons1 and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered1 took they away4 #ab3jbe3jae ,and the firepans1 and the bowls1 and such things as were of gold1 in gold1 and of silver1 in silver1 the captain of the guard took away4 #ab3jbe3jaf ,the two pillars1 one sea1 and the bases which ,solomon had made for the house of the ,,lord2 the brass of all these vessels was without weight4 #ab3jbe3jag ,the height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits1 and the chapiter upon it was brass3 and the height of the chapiter three cubits2 and the wreathen work1 and pomegranates upon the chapiter round about1 all of brass3 and like unto these had the second pillar with wreathen work4 #ab3jbe3jah ,and the captain of the guard took ,seraiah the chief priest1 and ,zephaniah the second priest1 and the three keepers of the door3 #ab3jbe3jai ,and out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war1 and five men of them that were in the king's presence1 which were found in the city1 and the principal scribe of the host1 which mustered the people of the land1 and threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city3 #ab3jbe3jbj ,and ,nebuzaradan captain of the guard took these1 and brought them to the king of ,babylon to ,riblah3 #ab3jbe3jba ,and the king of ,babylon smote them1 and slew them at ,riblah in the land of ,hamath4 ,so ,judah was carried away out of their land4 #ab3jbe3jbb ,and as for the people that remained in the land of ,judah1 whom ,nebuchadnezzar king of ,babylon had left1 even over them he made ,gedaliah the son of ,ahikam1 the son of ,shaphan1 ruler4 #ab3jbe3jbc ,and when all the captains of the armies1 they and their men1 heard that the king of ,babylon had made ,gedaliah governor1 there came to ,gedaliah to ,mizpah1 even ,ishmael the son of ,nethaniah1 and ,johanan the son of ,careah1 and ,seraiah the son of ,tanhumeth the ,netophathite1 and ,jaazaniah the son of a ,maachathite1 they and their men4 #ab3jbe3jbd ,and ,gedaliah sware to them1 and to their men1 and said unto them1 ,fear not to be the servants of the ,chaldees3 dwell in the land1 and serve the king of ,babylon2 and it shall be well with you4 #ab3jbe3jbe ,but it came to pass in the seventh month1 that ,ishmael the son of ,nethaniah1 the son of ,elishama1 of the seed royal1 came1 and ten men with him1 and smote ,gedaliah1 that he died1 and the ,jews and the ,chaldees that were with him at ,mizpah4 #ab3jbe3jbf ,and all the people1 both small and great1 and the captains of the armies1 arose1 and came to ,egypt3 for they were afraid of the ,chaldees4 #ab3jbe3jbg ,and it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of ,jehoiachin king of ,judah1 in the twelfth month1 on the seven and twentieth day of the month1 that ,evilmerodach king of ,babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of ,jehoiachin king of ,judah out of prison2 #ab3jbe3jbh ,and he spake kindly to him1 and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in ,babylon2 #ab3jbe3jbi ,and changed his prison garments3 and he did eat bread continually before him all the days of his life4 #ab3jbe3jcj ,and his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king1 a daily rate for every day1 all the days of his life4
