,this e,book was produced by ,david ,widger with the help of ,derek ,andrew's text from ,january #aiib and the work of ,bryan ,taylor in ,november #bjjb4 ,book #aa #a ,kings #aa3jja3jja ,now king ,david was old and stricken in years2 and they covered him with clothes1 but he gat no heat4 #aa3jja3jjb ,wherefore his servants said unto him1 ,let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin3 and let her stand before the king1 and let her cherish him1 and let her lie in thy bosom1 that my lord the king may get heat4 #aa3jja3jjc ,so they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of ,israel1 and found ,abishag a ,shunammite1 and brought her to the king4 #aa3jja3jjd ,and the damsel was very fair1 and cherished the king1 and ministered to him3 but the king knew her not4 #aa3jja3jje ,then ,adonijah the son of ,haggith exalted himself1 saying1 ,i will be king3 and he prepared him chariots and horsemen1 and fifty men to run before him4 #aa3jja3jjf ,and his father had not displeased him at any time in saying1 ,why hast thou done so8 and he also was a very goodly man2 and his mother bare him after ,absalom4 #aa3jja3jjg ,and he conferred with ,joab the son of ,zeruiah1 and with ,abiathar the priest3 and they following ,adonijah helped him4 #aa3jja3jjh ,but ,zadok the priest1 and ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada1 and ,nathan the prophet1 and ,shimei1 and ,rei1 and the mighty men which belonged to ,david1 were not with ,adonijah4 #aa3jja3jji ,and ,adonijah slew sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of ,zoheleth1 which is by ,enrogel1 and called all his brethren the king's sons1 and all the men of ,judah the king's servants3 #aa3jja3jaj ,but ,nathan the prophet1 and ,benaiah1 and the mighty men1 and ,solomon his brother1 he called not4 #aa3jja3jaa ,wherefore ,nathan spake unto ,bathsheba the mother of ,solomon1 saying1 ,hast thou not heard that ,adonijah the son of ,haggith doth reign1 and ,david our lord knoweth it not8 #aa3jja3jab ,now therefore come1 let me1 ,i pray thee1 give thee counsel1 that thou mayest save thine own life1 and the life of thy son ,solomon4 #aa3jja3jac ,go and get thee in unto king ,david1 and say unto him1 ,didst not thou1 my lord1 ,o king1 swear unto thine handmaid1 saying1 ,assuredly ,solomon thy son shall reign after me1 and he shall sit upon my throne8 why then doth ,adonijah reign8 #aa3jja3jad ,behold1 while thou yet talkest there with the king1 ,i also will come in after thee1 and confirm thy words4 #aa3jja3jae ,and ,bathsheba went in unto the king into the chamber3 and the king was very old2 and ,abishag the ,shunammite ministered unto the king4 #aa3jja3jaf ,and ,bathsheba bowed1 and did obeisance unto the king4 ,and the king said1 ,what wouldest thou8 #aa3jja3jag ,and she said unto him1 ,my lord1 thou swarest by the ,,lord thy ,god unto thine handmaid1 saying1 ,assuredly ,solomon thy son shall reign after me1 and he shall sit upon my throne4 #aa3jja3jah ,and now1 behold1 ,adonijah reigneth2 and now1 my lord the king1 thou knowest it not3 #aa3jja3jai ,and he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance1 and hath called all the sons of the king1 and ,abiathar the priest1 and ,joab the captain of the host3 but ,solomon thy servant hath he not called4 #aa3jja3jbj ,and thou1 my lord1 ,o king1 the eyes of all ,israel are upon thee1 that thou shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him4 #aa3jja3jba ,otherwise it shall come to pass1 when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers1 that ,i and my son ,solomon shall be counted offenders4 #aa3jja3jbb ,and1 lo1 while she yet talked with the king1 ,nathan the prophet also came in4 #aa3jja3jbc ,and they told the king1 saying1 ,behold ,nathan the prophet4 ,and when he was come in before the king1 he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground4 #aa3jja3jbd ,and ,nathan said1 ,my lord1 ,o king1 hast thou said1 ,adonijah shall reign after me1 and he shall sit upon my throne8 #aa3jja3jbe ,for he is gone down this day1 and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance1 and hath called all the king's sons1 and the captains of the host1 and ,abiathar the priest2 and1 behold1 they eat and drink before him1 and say1 ,god save king ,adonijah4 #aa3jja3jbf ,but me1 even me thy servant1 and ,zadok the priest1 and ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada1 and thy servant ,solomon1 hath he not called4 #aa3jja3jbg ,is this thing done by my lord the king1 and thou hast not shewed it unto thy servant1 who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him8 #aa3jja3jbh ,then king ,david answered and said1 ,call me ,bathsheba4 ,and she came into the king's presence1 and stood before the king4 #aa3jja3jbi ,and the king sware1 and said1 ,as the ,,lord liveth1 that hath redeemed my soul out of all distress1 #aa3jja3jcj ,even as ,i sware unto thee by the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 saying1 ,assuredly ,solomon thy son shall reign after me1 and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead2 even so will ,i certainly do this day4 #aa3jja3jca ,then ,bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth1 and did reverence to the king1 and said1 ,let my lord king ,david live for ever4 #aa3jja3jcb ,and king ,david said1 ,call me ,zadok the priest1 and ,nathan the prophet1 and ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada4 ,and they came before the king4 #aa3jja3jcc ,the king also said unto them1 ,take with you the servants of your lord1 and cause ,solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule1 and bring him down to ,gihon3 #aa3jja3jcd ,and let ,zadok the priest and ,nathan the prophet anoint him there king over ,israel3 and blow ye with the trumpet1 and say1 ,god save king ,solomon4 #aa3jja3jce ,then ye shall come up after him1 that he may come and sit upon my throne2 for he shall be king in my stead3 and ,i have appointed him to be ruler over ,israel and over ,judah4 #aa3jja3jcf ,and ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada answered the king1 and said1 ,amen3 the ,,lord ,god of my lord the king say so too4 #aa3jja3jcg ,as the ,,lord hath been with my lord the king1 even so be he with ,solomon1 and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king ,david4 #aa3jja3jch ,so ,zadok the priest1 and ,nathan the prophet1 and ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada1 and the ,cherethites1 and the ,pelethites1 went down1 and caused ,solomon to ride upon king ,david's mule1 and brought him to ,gihon4 #aa3jja3jci ,and ,zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle1 and anointed ,solomon4 ,and they blew the trumpet2 and all the people said1 ,god save king ,solomon4 #aa3jja3jdj ,and all the people came up after him1 and the people piped with pipes1 and rejoiced with great joy1 so that the earth rent with the sound of them4 #aa3jja3jda ,and ,adonijah and all the guests that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating4 ,and when ,joab heard the sound of the trumpet1 he said1 ,wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar8 #aa3jja3jdb ,and while he yet spake1 behold1 ,jonathan the son of ,abiathar the priest came2 and ,adonijah said unto him1 ,come in2 for thou art a valiant man1 and bringest good tidings4 #aa3jja3jdc ,and ,jonathan answered and said to ,adonijah1 ,verily our lord king ,david hath made ,solomon king4 #aa3jja3jdd ,and the king hath sent with him ,zadok the priest1 and ,nathan the prophet1 and ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada1 and the ,cherethites1 and the ,pelethites1 and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule3 #aa3jja3jde ,and ,zadok the priest and ,nathan the prophet have anointed him king in ,gihon3 and they are come up from thence rejoicing1 so that the city rang again4 ,this is the noise that ye have heard4 #aa3jja3jdf ,and also ,solomon sitteth on the throne of the kingdom4 #aa3jja3jdg ,and moreover the king's servants came to bless our lord king ,david1 saying1 ,god make the name of ,solomon better than thy name1 and make his throne greater than thy throne4 ,and the king bowed himself upon the bed4 #aa3jja3jdh ,and also thus said the king1 ,blessed be the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 which hath given one to sit on my throne this day1 mine eyes even seeing it4 #aa3jja3jdi ,and all the guests that were with ,adonijah were afraid1 and rose up1 and went every man his way4 #aa3jja3jej ,and ,adonijah feared because of ,solomon1 and arose1 and went1 and caught hold on the horns of the altar4 #aa3jja3jea ,and it was told ,solomon1 saying1 ,behold1 ,adonijah feareth king ,solomon3 for1 lo1 he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar1 saying1 ,let king ,solomon swear unto me today that he will not slay his servant with the sword4 #aa3jja3jeb ,and ,solomon said1 ,if he will shew himself a worthy man1 there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth3 but if wickedness shall be found in him1 he shall die4 #aa3jja3jec ,so king ,solomon sent1 and they brought him down from the altar4 ,and he came and bowed himself to king ,solomon3 and ,solomon said unto him1 ,go to thine house4 #aa3jjb3jja ,now the days of ,david drew nigh that he should die2 and he charged ,solomon his son1 saying1 #aa3jjb3jjb ,i go the way of all the earth3 be thou strong therefore1 and shew thyself a man2 #aa3jjb3jjc ,and keep the charge of the ,,lord thy ,god1 to walk in his ways1 to keep his statutes1 and his commandments1 and his judgments1 and his testimonies1 as it is written in the law of ,moses1 that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest1 and whithersoever thou turnest thyself3 #aa3jjb3jjd ,that the ,,lord may continue his word which he spake concerning me1 saying1 ,if thy children take heed to their way1 to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul1 there shall not fail thee 7said he7 a man on the throne of ,israel4 #aa3jjb3jje ,moreover thou knowest also what ,joab the son of ,zeruiah did to me1 and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of ,israel1 unto ,abner the son of ,ner1 and unto ,amasa the son of ,jether1 whom he slew1 and shed the blood of war in peace1 and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins1 and in his shoes that were on his feet4 #aa3jjb3jjf ,do therefore according to thy wisdom1 and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace4 #aa3jjb3jjg ,but shew kindness unto the sons of ,barzillai the ,gileadite1 and let them be of those that eat at thy table3 for so they came to me when ,i fled because of ,absalom thy brother4 #aa3jjb3jjh ,and1 behold1 thou hast with thee ,shimei the son of ,gera1 a ,benjamite of ,bahurim1 which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when ,i went to ,mahanaim3 but he came down to meet me at ,jordan1 and ,i sware to him by the ,,lord1 saying1 ,i will not put thee to death with the sword4 #aa3jjb3jji ,now therefore hold him not guiltless3 for thou art a wise man1 and knowest what thou oughtest to do unto him2 but his hoar head bring thou down to the grave with blood4 #aa3jjb3jaj ,so ,david slept with his fathers1 and was buried in the city of ,david4 #aa3jjb3jaa ,and the days that ,david reigned over ,israel were forty years3 seven years reigned he in ,hebron1 and thirty and three years reigned he in ,jerusalem4 #aa3jjb3jab ,then sat ,solomon upon the throne of ,david his father2 and his kingdom was established greatly4 #aa3jjb3jac ,and ,adonijah the son of ,haggith came to ,bathsheba the mother of ,solomon4 ,and she said1 ,comest thou peaceably8 ,and he said1 ,peaceably4 #aa3jjb3jad ,he said moreover1 ,i have somewhat to say unto thee4 ,and she said1 ,say on4 #aa3jjb3jae ,and he said1 ,thou knowest that the kingdom was mine1 and that all ,israel set their faces on me1 that ,i should reign3 howbeit the kingdom is turned about1 and is become my brother's3 for it was his from the ,,lord4 #aa3jjb3jaf ,and now ,i ask one petition of thee1 deny me not4 ,and she said unto him1 ,say on4 #aa3jjb3jag ,and he said1 ,speak1 ,i pray thee1 unto ,solomon the king1 7for he will not say thee nay17 that he give me ,abishag the ,shunammite to wife4 #aa3jjb3jah ,and ,bathsheba said1 ,well2 ,i will speak for thee unto the king4 #aa3jjb3jai ,bathsheba therefore went unto king ,solomon1 to speak unto him for ,adonijah4 ,and the king rose up to meet her1 and bowed himself unto her1 and sat down on his throne1 and caused a seat to be set for the king's mother2 and she sat on his right hand4 #aa3jjb3jbj ,then she said1 ,i desire one small petition of thee2 ,i pray thee1 say me not nay4 ,and the king said unto her1 ,ask on1 my mother3 for ,i will not say thee nay4 #aa3jjb3jba ,and she said1 ,let ,abishag the ,shunammite be given to ,adonijah thy brother to wife4 #aa3jjb3jbb ,and king ,solomon answered and said unto his mother1 ,and why dost thou ask ,abishag the ,shunammite for ,adonijah8 ask for him the kingdom also2 for he is mine elder brother2 even for him1 and for ,abiathar the priest1 and for ,joab the son of ,zeruiah4 #aa3jjb3jbc ,then king ,solomon sware by the ,,lord1 saying1 ,god do so to me1 and more also1 if ,adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life4 #aa3jjb3jbd ,now therefore1 as the ,,lord liveth1 which hath established me1 and set me on the throne of ,david my father1 and who hath made me an house1 as he promised1 ,adonijah shall be put to death this day4 #aa3jjb3jbe ,and king ,solomon sent by the hand of ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada2 and he fell upon him that he died4 #aa3jjb3jbf ,and unto ,abiathar the priest said the king1 ,get thee to ,anathoth1 unto thine own fields2 for thou art worthy of death3 but ,i will not at this time put thee to death1 because thou barest the ark of the ,,lord ,god before ,david my father1 and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted4 #aa3jjb3jbg ,so ,solomon thrust out ,abiathar from being priest unto the ,,lord2 that he might fulfil the word of the ,,lord1 which he spake concerning the house of ,eli in ,shiloh4 #aa3jjb3jbh ,then tidings came to ,joab3 for ,joab had turned after ,adonijah1 though he turned not after ,absalom4 ,and ,joab fled unto the tabernacle of the ,,lord1 and caught hold on the horns of the altar4 #aa3jjb3jbi ,and it was told king ,solomon that ,joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the ,,lord2 and1 behold1 he is by the altar4 ,then ,solomon sent ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada1 saying1 ,go1 fall upon him4 #aa3jjb3jcj ,and ,benaiah came to the tabernacle of the ,,lord1 and said unto him1 ,thus saith the king1 ,come forth4 ,and he said1 ,nay2 but ,i will die here4 ,and ,benaiah brought the king word again1 saying1 ,thus said ,joab1 and thus he answered me4 #aa3jjb3jca ,and the king said unto him1 ,do as he hath said1 and fall upon him1 and bury him2 that thou mayest take away the innocent blood1 which ,joab shed1 from me1 and from the house of my father4 #aa3jjb3jcb ,and the ,,lord shall return his blood upon his own head1 who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he1 and slew them with the sword1 my father ,david not knowing thereof1 to wit1 ,abner the son of ,ner1 captain of the host of ,israel1 and ,amasa the son of ,jether1 captain of the host of ,judah4 #aa3jjb3jcc ,their blood shall therefore return upon the head of ,joab1 and upon the head of his seed for ever3 but upon ,david1 and upon his seed1 and upon his house1 and upon his throne1 shall there be peace for ever from the ,,lord4 #aa3jjb3jcd ,so ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada went up1 and fell upon him1 and slew him3 and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness4 #aa3jjb3jce ,and the king put ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada in his room over the host3 and ,zadok the priest did the king put in the room of ,abiathar4 #aa3jjb3jcf ,and the king sent and called for ,shimei1 and said unto him1 ,build thee an house in ,jerusalem1 and dwell there1 and go not forth thence any whither4 #aa3jjb3jcg ,for it shall be1 that on the day thou goest out1 and passest over the brook ,kidron1 thou shalt know for certain that thou shalt surely die3 thy blood shall be upon thine own head4 #aa3jjb3jch ,and ,shimei said unto the king1 ,the saying is good3 as my lord the king hath said1 so will thy servant do4 ,and ,shimei dwelt in ,jerusalem many days4 #aa3jjb3jci ,and it came to pass at the end of three years1 that two of the servants of ,shimei ran away unto ,achish son of ,maachah king of ,gath4 ,and they told ,shimei1 saying1 ,behold1 thy servants be in ,gath4 #aa3jjb3jdj ,and ,shimei arose1 and saddled his ass1 and went to ,gath to ,achish to seek his servants3 and ,shimei went1 and brought his servants from ,gath4 #aa3jjb3jda ,and it was told ,solomon that ,shimei had gone from ,jerusalem to ,gath1 and was come again4 #aa3jjb3jdb ,and the king sent and called for ,shimei1 and said unto him1 ,did ,i not make thee to swear by the ,,lord1 and protested unto thee1 saying1 ,know for a certain1 on the day thou goest out1 and walkest abroad any whither1 that thou shalt surely die8 and thou saidst unto me1 ,the word that ,i have heard is good4 #aa3jjb3jdc ,why then hast thou not kept the oath of the ,,lord1 and the commandment that ,i have charged thee with8 #aa3jjb3jdd ,the king said moreover to ,shimei1 ,thou knowest all the wickedness which thine heart is privy to1 that thou didst to ,david my father3 therefore the ,,lord shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head2 #aa3jjb3jde ,and king ,solomon shall be blessed1 and the throne of ,david shall be established before the ,,lord for ever4 #aa3jjb3jdf ,so the king commanded ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada2 which went out1 and fell upon him1 that he died4 ,and the kingdom was established in the hand of ,solomon4 #aa3jjc3jja ,and ,solomon made affinity with ,pharaoh king of ,egypt1 and took ,pharaoh's daughter1 and brought her into the city of ,david1 until he had made an end of building his own house1 and the house of the ,,lord1 and the wall of ,jerusalem round about4 #aa3jjc3jjb ,only the people sacrificed in high places1 because there was no house built unto the name of the ,,lord1 until those days4 #aa3jjc3jjc ,and ,solomon loved the ,,lord1 walking in the statutes of ,david his father3 only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places4 #aa3jjc3jjd ,and the king went to ,gibeon to sacrifice there2 for that was the great high place3 a thousand burnt offerings did ,solomon offer upon that altar4 #aa3jjc3jje ,in ,gibeon the ,,lord appeared to ,solomon in a dream by night3 and ,god said1 ,ask what ,i shall give thee4 #aa3jjc3jjf ,and ,solomon said1 ,thou hast shewed unto thy servant ,david my father great mercy1 according as he walked before thee in truth1 and in righteousness1 and in uprightness of heart with thee2 and thou hast kept for him this great kindness1 that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne1 as it is this day4 #aa3jjc3jjg ,and now1 ,o ,,lord my ,god1 thou hast made thy servant king instead of ,david my father3 and ,i am but a little child3 ,i know not how to go out or come in4 #aa3jjc3jjh ,and thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen1 a great people1 that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude4 #aa3jjc3jji ,give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people1 that ,i may discern between good and bad3 for who is able to judge this thy so great a people8 #aa3jjc3jaj ,and the speech pleased the ,,lord1 that ,solomon had asked this thing4 #aa3jjc3jaa ,and ,god said unto him1 ,because thou hast asked this thing1 and hast not asked for thyself long life2 neither hast asked riches for thyself1 nor hast asked the life of thine enemies2 but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment2 #aa3jjc3jab ,behold1 ,i have done according to thy words3 lo1 ,i have given thee a wise and an understanding heart2 so that there was none like thee before thee1 neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee4 #aa3jjc3jac ,and ,i have also given thee that which thou hast not asked1 both riches1 and honour3 so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days4 #aa3jjc3jad ,and if thou wilt walk in my ways1 to keep my statutes and my commandments1 as thy father ,david did walk1 then ,i will lengthen thy days4 #aa3jjc3jae ,and ,solomon awoke2 and1 behold1 it was a dream4 ,and he came to ,jerusalem1 and stood before the ark of the covenant of the ,,lord1 and offered up burnt offerings1 and offered peace offerings1 and made a feast to all his servants4 #aa3jjc3jaf ,then came there two women1 that were harlots1 unto the king1 and stood before him4 #aa3jjc3jag ,and the one woman said1 ,o my lord1 ,i and this woman dwell in one house2 and ,i was delivered of a child with her in the house4 #aa3jjc3jah ,and it came to pass the third day after that ,i was delivered1 that this woman was delivered also3 and we were together2 there was no stranger with us in the house1 save we two in the house4 #aa3jjc3jai ,and this woman's child died in the night2 because she overlaid it4 #aa3jjc3jbj ,and she arose at midnight1 and took my son from beside me1 while thine handmaid slept1 and laid it in her bosom1 and laid her dead child in my bosom4 #aa3jjc3jba ,and when ,i rose in the morning to give my child suck1 behold1 it was dead3 but when ,i had considered it in the morning1 behold1 it was not my son1 which ,i did bear4 #aa3jjc3jbb ,and the other woman said1 ,nay2 but the living is my son1 and the dead is thy son4 ,and this said1 ,no2 but the dead is thy son1 and the living is my son4 ,thus they spake before the king4 #aa3jjc3jbc ,then said the king1 ,the one saith1 ,this is my son that liveth1 and thy son is the dead3 and the other saith1 ,nay2 but thy son is the dead1 and my son is the living4 #aa3jjc3jbd ,and the king said1 ,bring me a sword4 ,and they brought a sword before the king4 #aa3jjc3jbe ,and the king said1 ,divide the living child in two1 and give half to the one1 and half to the other4 #aa3jjc3jbf ,then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king1 for her bowels yearned upon her son1 and she said1 ,o my lord1 give her the living child1 and in no wise slay it4 ,but the other said1 ,let it be neither mine nor thine1 but divide it4 #aa3jjc3jbg ,then the king answered and said1 ,give her the living child1 and in no wise slay it3 she is the mother thereof4 #aa3jjc3jbh ,and all ,israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged2 and they feared the king3 for they saw that the wisdom of ,god was in him1 to do judgment4 #aa3jjd3jja ,so king ,solomon was king over all ,israel4 #aa3jjd3jjb ,and these were the princes which he had2 ,azariah the son of ,zadok the priest1 #aa3jjd3jjc ,elihoreph and ,ahiah1 the sons of ,shisha1 scribes2 ,jehoshaphat the son of ,ahilud1 the recorder4 #aa3jjd3jjd ,and ,benaiah the son of ,jehoiada was over the host3 and ,zadok and ,abiathar were the priests3 #aa3jjd3jje ,and ,azariah the son of ,nathan was over the officers3 and ,zabud the son of ,nathan was principal officer1 and the king's friend3 #aa3jjd3jjf ,and ,ahishar was over the household3 and ,adoniram the son of ,abda was over the tribute4 #aa3jjd3jjg ,and ,solomon had twelve officers over all ,israel1 which provided victuals for the king and his household3 each man his month in a year made provision4 #aa3jjd3jjh ,and these are their names3 ,the son of ,hur1 in mount ,ephraim3 #aa3jjd3jji ,the son of ,dekar1 in ,makaz1 and in ,shaalbim1 and ,bethshemesh1 and ,elonbethhanan3 #aa3jjd3jaj ,the son of ,hesed1 in ,aruboth2 to him pertained ,sochoh1 and all the land of ,hepher3 #aa3jjd3jaa ,the son of ,abinadab1 in all the region of ,dor2 which had ,taphath the daughter of ,solomon to wife3 #aa3jjd3jab ,baana the son of ,ahilud2 to him pertained ,taanach and ,megiddo1 and all ,bethshean1 which is by ,zartanah beneath ,jezreel1 from ,bethshean to ,abelmeholah1 even unto the place that is beyond ,jokneam3 #aa3jjd3jac ,the son of ,geber1 in ,ramothgilead2 to him pertained the towns of ,jair the son of ,manasseh1 which are in ,gilead2 to him also pertained the region of ,argob1 which is in ,bashan1 threescore great cities with walls and brasen bars3 #aa3jjd3jad ,ahinadab the son of ,iddo had ,mahanaim3 #aa3jjd3jae ,ahimaaz was in ,naphtali2 he also took ,basmath the daughter of ,solomon to wife3 #aa3jjd3jaf ,baanah the son of ,hushai was in ,asher and in ,aloth3 #aa3jjd3jag ,jehoshaphat the son of ,paruah1 in ,issachar3 #aa3jjd3jah ,shimei the son of ,elah1 in ,benjamin3 #aa3jjd3jai ,geber the son of ,uri was in the country of ,gilead1 in the country of ,sihon king of the ,amorites1 and of ,og king of ,bashan2 and he was the only officer which was in the land4 #aa3jjd3jbj ,judah and ,israel were many1 as the sand which is by the sea in multitude1 eating and drinking1 and making merry4 #aa3jjd3jba ,and ,solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the ,philistines1 and unto the border of ,egypt3 they brought presents1 and served ,solomon all the days of his life4 #aa3jjd3jbb ,and ,solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour1 and threescore measures of meal1 #aa3jjd3jbc ,ten fat oxen1 and twenty oxen out of the pastures1 and an hundred sheep1 beside harts1 and roebucks1 and fallowdeer1 and fatted fowl4 #aa3jjd3jbd ,for he had dominion over all the region on this side the river1 from ,tiphsah even to ,azzah1 over all the kings on this side the river3 and he had peace on all sides round about him4 #aa3jjd3jbe ,and ,judah and ,israel dwelt safely1 every man under his vine and under his fig tree1 from ,dan even to ,beersheba1 all the days of ,solomon4 #aa3jjd3jbf ,and ,solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots1 and twelve thousand horsemen4 #aa3jjd3jbg ,and those officers provided victual for king ,solomon1 and for all that came unto king ,solomon's table1 every man in his month3 they lacked nothing4 #aa3jjd3jbh ,barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were1 every man according to his charge4 #aa3jjd3jbi ,and ,god gave ,solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much1 and largeness of heart1 even as the sand that is on the sea shore4 #aa3jjd3jcj ,and ,solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country1 and all the wisdom of ,egypt4 #aa3jjd3jca ,for he was wiser than all men2 than ,ethan the ,ezrahite1 and ,heman1 and ,chalcol1 and ,darda1 the sons of ,mahol3 and his fame was in all nations round about4 #aa3jjd3jcb ,and he spake three thousand proverbs3 and his songs were a thousand and five4 #aa3jjd3jcc ,and he spake of trees1 from the cedar tree that is in ,lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall3 he spake also of beasts1 and of fowl1 and of creeping things1 and of fishes4 #aa3jjd3jcd ,and there came of all people to hear the wisdom of ,solomon1 from all kings of the earth1 which had heard of his wisdom4 #aa3jje3jja ,and ,hiram king of ,tyre sent his servants unto ,solomon2 for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father3 for ,hiram was ever a lover of ,david4 #aa3jje3jjb ,and ,solomon sent to ,hiram1 saying1 #aa3jje3jjc ,thou knowest how that ,david my father could not build an house unto the name of the ,,lord his ,god for the wars which were about him on every side1 until the ,,lord put them under the soles of his feet4 #aa3jje3jjd ,but now the ,,lord my ,god hath given me rest on every side1 so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent4 #aa3jje3jje ,and1 behold1 ,i purpose to build an house unto the name of the ,,lord my ,god1 as the ,,lord spake unto ,david my father1 saying1 ,thy son1 whom ,i will set upon thy throne in thy room1 he shall build an house unto my name4 #aa3jje3jjf ,now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of ,lebanon2 and my servants shall be with thy servants3 and unto thee will ,i give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint3 for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the ,sidonians4 #aa3jje3jjg ,and it came to pass1 when ,hiram heard the words of ,solomon1 that he rejoiced greatly1 and said1 ,blessed be the ,,lord this day1 which hath given unto ,david a wise son over this great people4 #aa3jje3jjh ,and ,hiram sent to ,solomon1 saying1 ,i have considered the things which thou sentest to me for3 and ,i will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar1 and concerning timber of fir4 #aa3jje3jji ,my servants shall bring them down from ,lebanon unto the sea3 and ,i will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt appoint me1 and will cause them to be discharged there1 and thou shalt receive them3 and thou shalt accomplish my desire1 in giving food for my household4 #aa3jje3jaj ,so ,hiram gave ,solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire4 #aa3jje3jaa ,and ,solomon gave ,hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household1 and twenty measures of pure oil3 thus gave ,solomon to ,hiram year by year4 #aa3jje3jab ,and the ,,lord gave ,solomon wisdom1 as he promised him3 and there was peace between ,hiram and ,solomon2 and they two made a league together4 #aa3jje3jac ,and king ,solomon raised a levy out of all ,israel2 and the levy was thirty thousand men4 #aa3jje3jad ,and he sent them to ,lebanon1 ten thousand a month by courses3 a month they were in ,lebanon1 and two months at home3 and ,adoniram was over the levy4 #aa3jje3jae ,and ,solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bare burdens1 and fourscore thousand hewers in the mountains2 #aa3jje3jaf ,beside the chief of ,solomon's officers which were over the work1 three thousand and three hundred1 which ruled over the people that wrought in the work4 #aa3jje3jag ,and the king commanded1 and they brought great stones1 costly stones1 and hewed stones1 to lay the foundation of the house4 #aa3jje3jah ,and ,solomon's builders and ,hiram's builders did hew them1 and the stonesquarers3 so they prepared timber and stones to build the house4 #aa3jjf3jja ,and it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of ,israel were come out of the land of ,egypt1 in the fourth year of ,solomon's reign over ,israel1 in the month ,zif1 which is the second month1 that he began to build the house of the ,,lord4 #aa3jjf3jjb ,and the house which king ,solomon built for the ,,lord1 the length thereof was threescore cubits1 and the breadth thereof twenty cubits1 and the height thereof thirty cubits4 #aa3jjf3jjc ,and the porch before the temple of the house1 twenty cubits was the length thereof1 according to the breadth of the house2 and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house4 #aa3jjf3jjd ,and for the house he made windows of narrow lights4 #aa3jjf3jje ,and against the wall of the house he built chambers round about1 against the walls of the house round about1 both of the temple and of the oracle3 and he made chambers round about3 #aa3jjf3jjf ,the nethermost chamber was five cubits broad1 and the middle was six cubits broad1 and the third was seven cubits broad3 for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about1 that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house4 #aa3jjf3jjg ,and the house1 when it was in building1 was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither3 so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house1 while it was in building4 #aa3jjf3jjh ,the door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house3 and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber1 and out of the middle into the third4 #aa3jjf3jji ,so he built the house1 and finished it2 and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar4 #aa3jjf3jaj ,and then he built chambers against all the house1 five cubits high3 and they rested on the house with timber of cedar4 #aa3jjf3jaa ,and the word of the ,,lord came to ,solomon1 saying1 #aa3jjf3jab ,concerning this house which thou art in building1 if thou wilt walk in my statutes1 and execute my judgments1 and keep all my commandments to walk in them2 then will ,i perform my word with thee1 which ,i spake unto ,david thy father3 #aa3jjf3jac ,and ,i will dwell among the children of ,israel1 and will not forsake my people ,israel4 #aa3jjf3jad ,so ,solomon built the house1 and finished it4 #aa3jjf3jae ,and he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar1 both the floor of the house1 and the walls of the ceiling3 and he covered them on the inside with wood1 and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir4 #aa3jjf3jaf ,and he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house1 both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar3 he even built them for it within1 even for the oracle1 even for the most holy place4 #aa3jjf3jag ,and the house1 that is1 the temple before it1 was forty cubits long4 #aa3jjf3jah ,and the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers3 all was cedar2 there was no stone seen4 #aa3jjf3jai ,and the oracle he prepared in the house within1 to set there the ark of the covenant of the ,,lord4 #aa3jjf3jbj ,and the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length1 and twenty cubits in breadth1 and twenty cubits in the height thereof3 and he overlaid it with pure gold2 and so covered the altar which was of cedar4 #aa3jjf3jba ,so ,solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold3 and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle2 and he overlaid it with gold4 #aa3jjf3jbb ,and the whole house he overlaid with gold1 until he had finished all the house3 also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold4 #aa3jjf3jbc ,and within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree1 each ten cubits high4 #aa3jjf3jbd ,and five cubits was the one wing of the cherub1 and five cubits the other wing of the cherub3 from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits4 #aa3jjf3jbe ,and the other cherub was ten cubits3 both the cherubims were of one measure and one size4 #aa3jjf3jbf ,the height of the one cherub was ten cubits1 and so was it of the other cherub4 #aa3jjf3jbg ,and he set the cherubims within the inner house3 and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims1 so that the wing of the one touched the one wall1 and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall2 and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house4 #aa3jjf3jbh ,and he overlaid the cherubims with gold4 #aa3jjf3jbi ,and he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers1 within and without4 #aa3jjf3jcj ,and the floors of the house he overlaid with gold1 within and without4 #aa3jjf3jca ,and for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree3 the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall4 #aa3jjf3jcb ,the two doors also were of olive tree2 and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers1 and overlaid them with gold1 and spread gold upon the cherubims1 and upon the palm trees4 #aa3jjf3jcc ,so also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree1 a fourth part of the wall4 #aa3jjf3jcd ,and the two doors were of fir tree3 the two leaves of the one door were folding1 and the two leaves of the other door were folding4 #aa3jjf3jce ,and he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers3 and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work4 #aa3jjf3jcf ,and he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone1 and a row of cedar beams4 #aa3jjf3jcg ,in the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the ,,lord laid1 in the month ,zif3 #aa3jjf3jch ,and in the eleventh year1 in the month ,bul1 which is the eighth month1 was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof1 and according to all the fashion of it4 ,so was he seven years in building it4 #aa3jjg3jja ,but ,solomon was building his own house thirteen years1 and he finished all his house4 #aa3jjg3jjb ,he built also the house of the forest of ,lebanon2 the length thereof was an hundred cubits1 and the breadth thereof fifty cubits1 and the height thereof thirty cubits1 upon four rows of cedar pillars1 with cedar beams upon the pillars4 #aa3jjg3jjc ,and it was covered with cedar above upon the beams1 that lay on forty five pillars1 fifteen in a row4 #aa3jjg3jjd ,and there were windows in three rows1 and light was against light in three ranks4 #aa3jjg3jje ,and all the doors and posts were square1 with the windows3 and light was against light in three ranks4 #aa3jjg3jjf ,and he made a porch of pillars2 the length thereof was fifty cubits1 and the breadth thereof thirty cubits3 and the porch was before them3 and the other pillars and the thick beam were before them4 #aa3jjg3jjg ,then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge1 even the porch of judgment3 and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other4 #aa3jjg3jjh ,and his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch1 which was of the like work4 ,solomon made also an house for ,pharaoh's daughter1 whom he had taken to wife1 like unto this porch4 #aa3jjg3jji ,all these were of costly stones1 according to the measures of hewed stones1 sawed with saws1 within and without1 even from the foundation unto the coping1 and so on the outside toward the great court4 #aa3jjg3jaj ,and the foundation was of costly stones1 even great stones1 stones of ten cubits1 and stones of eight cubits4 #aa3jjg3jaa ,and above were costly stones1 after the measures of hewed stones1 and cedars4 #aa3jjg3jab ,and the great court round about was with three rows of hewed stones1 and a row of cedar beams1 both for the inner court of the house of the ,,lord1 and for the porch of the house4 #aa3jjg3jac ,and king ,solomon sent and fetched ,hiram out of ,tyre4 #aa3jjg3jad ,he was a widow's son of the tribe of ,naphtali1 and his father was a man of ,tyre1 a worker in brass3 and he was filled with wisdom1 and understanding1 and cunning to work all works in brass4 ,and he came to king ,solomon1 and wrought all his work4 #aa3jjg3jae ,for he cast two pillars of brass1 of eighteen cubits high apiece3 and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about4 #aa3jjg3jaf ,and he made two chapiters of molten brass1 to set upon the tops of the pillars3 the height of the one chapiter was five cubits1 and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits3 #aa3jjg3jag ,and nets of checker work1 and wreaths of chain work1 for the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars2 seven for the one chapiter1 and seven for the other chapiter4 #aa3jjg3jah ,and he made the pillars1 and two rows round about upon the one network1 to cover the chapiters that were upon the top1 with pomegranates3 and so did he for the other chapiter4 #aa3jjg3jai ,and the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch1 four cubits4 #aa3jjg3jbj ,and the chapiters upon the two pillars had pomegranates also above1 over against the belly which was by the network3 and the pomegranates were two hundred in rows round about upon the other chapiter4 #aa3jjg3jba ,and he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple3 and he set up the right pillar1 and called the name thereof ,jachin3 and he set up the left pillar1 and called the name thereof ,boaz4 #aa3jjg3jbb ,and upon the top of the pillars was lily work3 so was the work of the pillars finished4 #aa3jjg3jbc ,and he made a molten sea1 ten cubits from the one brim to the other3 it was round all about1 and his height was five cubits3 and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about4 #aa3jjg3jbd ,and under the brim of it round about there were knops compassing it1 ten in a cubit1 compassing the sea round about3 the knops were cast in two rows1 when it was cast4 #aa3jjg3jbe ,it stood upon twelve oxen1 three looking toward the north1 and three looking toward the west1 and three looking toward the south1 and three looking toward the east3 and the sea was set above upon them1 and all their hinder parts were inward4 #aa3jjg3jbf ,and it was an hand breadth thick1 and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup1 with flowers of lilies3 it contained two thousand baths4 #aa3jjg3jbg ,and he made ten bases of brass2 four cubits was the length of one base1 and four cubits the breadth thereof1 and three cubits the height of it4 #aa3jjg3jbh ,and the work of the bases was on this manner3 they had borders1 and the borders were between the ledges3 #aa3jjg3jbi ,and on the borders that were between the ledges were lions1 oxen1 and cherubims3 and upon the ledges there was a base above3 and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work4 #aa3jjg3jcj ,and every base had four brasen wheels1 and plates of brass3 and the four corners thereof had undersetters3 under the laver were undersetters molten1 at the side of every addition4 #aa3jjg3jca ,and the mouth of it within the chapiter and above was a cubit3 but the mouth thereof was round after the work of the base1 a cubit and an half3 and also upon the mouth of it were gravings with their borders1 foursquare1 not round4 #aa3jjg3jcb ,and under the borders were four wheels2 and the axletrees of the wheels were joined to the base3 and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit4 #aa3jjg3jcc ,and the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel3 their axletrees1 and their naves1 and their felloes1 and their spokes1 were all molten4 #aa3jjg3jcd ,and there were four undersetters to the four corners of one base3 and the undersetters were of the very base itself4 #aa3jjg3jce ,and in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a cubit high3 and on the top of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same4 #aa3jjg3jcf ,for on the plates of the ledges thereof1 and on the borders thereof1 he graved cherubims1 lions1 and palm trees1 according to the proportion of every one1 and additions round about4 #aa3jjg3jcg ,after this manner he made the ten bases3 all of them had one casting1 one measure1 and one size4 #aa3jjg3jch ,then made he ten lavers of brass3 one laver contained forty baths3 and every laver was four cubits3 and upon every one of the ten bases one laver4 #aa3jjg3jci ,and he put five bases on the right side of the house1 and five on the left side of the house3 and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward over against the south4 #aa3jjg3jdj ,and ,hiram made the lavers1 and the shovels1 and the basons4 ,so ,hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king ,solomon for the house of the ,,lord3 #aa3jjg3jda ,the two pillars1 and the two bowls of the chapiters that were on the top of the two pillars2 and the two networks1 to cover the two bowls of the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars2 #aa3jjg3jdb ,and four hundred pomegranates for the two networks1 even two rows of pomegranates for one network1 to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that were upon the pillars2 #aa3jjg3jdc ,and the ten bases1 and ten lavers on the bases2 #aa3jjg3jdd ,and one sea1 and twelve oxen under the sea2 #aa3jjg3jde ,and the pots1 and the shovels1 and the basons3 and all these vessels1 which ,hiram made to king ,solomon for the house of the ,,lord1 were of bright brass4 #aa3jjg3jdf ,in the plain of ,jordan did the king cast them1 in the clay ground between ,succoth and ,zarthan4 #aa3jjg3jdg ,and ,solomon left all the vessels unweighed1 because they were exceeding many3 neither was the weight of the brass found out4 #aa3jjg3jdh ,and ,solomon made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of the ,,lord3 the altar of gold1 and the table of gold1 whereupon the shewbread was1 #aa3jjg3jdi ,and the candlesticks of pure gold1 five on the right side1 and five on the left1 before the oracle1 with the flowers1 and the lamps1 and the tongs of gold1 #aa3jjg3jej ,and the bowls1 and the snuffers1 and the basons1 and the spoons1 and the censers of pure gold2 and the hinges of gold1 both for the doors of the inner house1 the most holy place1 and for the doors of the house1 to wit1 of the temple4 #aa3jjg3jea ,so was ended all the work that king ,solomon made for the house of the ,,lord4 ,and ,solomon brought in the things which ,david his father had dedicated2 even the silver1 and the gold1 and the vessels1 did he put among the treasures of the house of the ,,lord4 #aa3jjh3jja ,then ,solomon assembled the elders of ,israel1 and all the heads of the tribes1 the chief of the fathers of the children of ,israel1 unto king ,solomon in ,jerusalem1 that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the ,,lord out of the city of ,david1 which is ,zion4 #aa3jjh3jjb ,and all the men of ,israel assembled themselves unto king ,solomon at the feast in the month ,ethanim1 which is the seventh month4 #aa3jjh3jjc ,and all the elders of ,israel came1 and the priests took up the ark4 #aa3jjh3jjd ,and they brought up the ark of the ,,lord1 and the tabernacle of the congregation1 and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle1 even those did the priests and the ,levites bring up4 #aa3jjh3jje ,and king ,solomon1 and all the congregation of ,israel1 that were assembled unto him1 were with him before the ark1 sacrificing sheep and oxen1 that could not be told nor numbered for multitude4 #aa3jjh3jjf ,and the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the ,,lord unto his place1 into the oracle of the house1 to the most holy place1 even under the wings of the cherubims4 #aa3jjh3jjg ,for the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark1 and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above4 #aa3jjh3jjh ,and they drew out the staves1 that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle1 and they were not seen without3 and there they are unto this day4 #aa3jjh3jji ,there was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone1 which ,moses put there at ,horeb1 when the ,,lord made a covenant with the children of ,israel1 when they came out of the land of ,egypt4 #aa3jjh3jaj ,and it came to pass1 when the priests were come out of the holy place1 that the cloud filled the house of the ,,lord1 #aa3jjh3jaa ,so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud3 for the glory of the ,,lord had filled the house of the ,,lord4 #aa3jjh3jab ,then spake ,solomon1 ,the ,,lord said that he would dwell in the thick darkness4 #aa3jjh3jac ,i have surely built thee an house to dwell in1 a settled place for thee to abide in for ever4 #aa3jjh3jad ,and the king turned his face about1 and blessed all the congregation of ,israel3 7and all the congregation of ,israel stood27 #aa3jjh3jae ,and he said1 ,blessed be the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 which spake with his mouth unto ,david my father1 and hath with his hand fulfilled it1 saying1 #aa3jjh3jaf ,since the day that ,i brought forth my people ,israel out of ,egypt1 ,i chose no city out of all the tribes of ,israel to build an house1 that my name might be therein2 but ,i chose ,david to be over my people ,israel4 #aa3jjh3jag ,and it was in the heart of ,david my father to build an house for the name of the ,,lord ,god of ,israel4 #aa3jjh3jah ,and the ,,lord said unto ,david my father1 ,whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name1 thou didst well that it was in thine heart4 #aa3jjh3jai ,nevertheless thou shalt not build the house2 but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins1 he shall build the house unto my name4 #aa3jjh3jbj ,and the ,,lord hath performed his word that he spake1 and ,i am risen up in the room of ,david my father1 and sit on the throne of ,israel1 as the ,,lord promised1 and have built an house for the name of the ,,lord ,god of ,israel4 #aa3jjh3jba ,and ,i have set there a place for the ark1 wherein is the covenant of the ,,lord1 which he made with our fathers1 when he brought them out of the land of ,egypt4 #aa3jjh3jbb ,and ,solomon stood before the altar of the ,,lord in the presence of all the congregation of ,israel1 and spread forth his hands toward heaven3 #aa3jjh3jbc ,and he said1 ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 there is no ,god like thee1 in heaven above1 or on earth beneath1 who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart3 #aa3jjh3jbd ,who hast kept with thy servant ,david my father that thou promisedst him3 thou spakest also with thy mouth1 and hast fulfilled it with thine hand1 as it is this day4 #aa3jjh3jbe ,therefore now1 ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 keep with thy servant ,david my father that thou promisedst him1 saying1 ,there shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of ,israel2 so that thy children take heed to their way1 that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me4 #aa3jjh3jbf ,and now1 ,o ,god of ,israel1 let thy word1 ,i pray thee1 be verified1 which thou spakest unto thy servant ,david my father4 #aa3jjh3jbg ,but will ,god indeed dwell on the earth8 behold1 the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee2 how much less this house that ,i have builded8 #aa3jjh3jbh ,yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant1 and to his supplication1 ,o ,,lord my ,god1 to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer1 which thy servant prayeth before thee to day3 #aa3jjh3jbi ,that thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day1 even toward the place of which thou hast said1 ,my name shall be there3 that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place4 #aa3jjh3jcj ,and hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant1 and of thy people ,israel1 when they shall pray toward this place3 and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place3 and when thou hearest1 forgive4 #aa3jjh3jca ,if any man trespass against his neighbour1 and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear1 and the oath come before thine altar in this house3 #aa3jjh3jcb ,then hear thou in heaven1 and do1 and judge thy servants1 condemning the wicked1 to bring his way upon his head2 and justifying the righteous1 to give him according to his righteousness4 #aa3jjh3jcc ,when thy people ,israel be smitten down before the enemy1 because they have sinned against thee1 and shall turn again to thee1 and confess thy name1 and pray1 and make supplication unto thee in this house3 #aa3jjh3jcd ,then hear thou in heaven1 and forgive the sin of thy people ,israel1 and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers4 #aa3jjh3jce ,when heaven is shut up1 and there is no rain1 because they have sinned against thee2 if they pray toward this place1 and confess thy name1 and turn from their sin1 when thou afflictest them3 #aa3jjh3jcf ,then hear thou in heaven1 and forgive the sin of thy servants1 and of thy people ,israel1 that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk1 and give rain upon thy land1 which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance4 #aa3jjh3jcg ,if there be in the land famine1 if there be pestilence1 blasting1 mildew1 locust1 or if there be caterpiller2 if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities2 whatsoever plague1 whatsoever sickness there be2 #aa3jjh3jch ,what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man1 or by all thy people ,israel1 which shall know every man the plague of his own heart1 and spread forth his hands toward this house3 #aa3jjh3jci ,then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place1 and forgive1 and do1 and give to every man according to his ways1 whose heart thou knowest2 7for thou1 even thou only1 knowest the hearts of all the children of men27 #aa3jjh3jdj ,that they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers4 #aa3jjh3jda ,moreover concerning a stranger1 that is not of thy people ,israel1 but cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake2 #aa3jjh3jdb 7,for they shall hear of thy great name1 and of thy strong hand1 and of thy stretched out arm27 when he shall come and pray toward this house2 #aa3jjh3jdc ,hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place1 and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for3 that all people of the earth may know thy name1 to fear thee1 as do thy people ,israel2 and that they may know that this house1 which ,i have builded1 is called by thy name4 #aa3jjh3jdd ,if thy people go out to battle against their enemy1 whithersoever thou shalt send them1 and shall pray unto the ,,lord toward the city which thou hast chosen1 and toward the house that ,i have built for thy name3 #aa3jjh3jde ,then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication1 and maintain their cause4 #aa3jjh3jdf ,if they sin against thee1 7for there is no man that sinneth not17 and thou be angry with them1 and deliver them to the enemy1 so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy1 far or near2 #aa3jjh3jdg ,yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives1 and repent1 and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives1 saying1 ,we have sinned1 and have done perversely1 we have committed wickedness2 #aa3jjh3jdh ,and so return unto thee with all their heart1 and with all their soul1 in the land of their enemies1 which led them away captive1 and pray unto thee toward their land1 which thou gavest unto their fathers1 the city which thou hast chosen1 and the house which ,i have built for thy name3 #aa3jjh3jdi ,then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place1 and maintain their cause1 #aa3jjh3jej ,and forgive thy people that have sinned against thee1 and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee1 and give them compassion before them who carried them captive1 that they may have compassion on them3 #aa3jjh3jea ,for they be thy people1 and thine inheritance1 which thou broughtest forth out of ,egypt1 from the midst of the furnace of iron3 #aa3jjh3jeb ,that thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant1 and unto the supplication of thy people ,israel1 to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto thee4 #aa3jjh3jec ,for thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth1 to be thine inheritance1 as thou spakest by the hand of ,moses thy servant1 when thou broughtest our fathers out of ,egypt1 ,o ,,lord ,god4 #aa3jjh3jed ,and it was so1 that when ,solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the ,,lord1 he arose from before the altar of the ,,lord1 from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven4 #aa3jjh3jee ,and he stood1 and blessed all the congregation of ,israel with a loud voice1 saying1 #aa3jjh3jef ,blessed be the ,,lord1 that hath given rest unto his people ,israel1 according to all that he promised3 there hath not failed one word of all his good promise1 which he promised by the hand of ,moses his servant4 #aa3jjh3jeg ,the ,,lord our ,god be with us1 as he was with our fathers3 let him not leave us1 nor forsake us3 #aa3jjh3jeh ,that he may incline our hearts unto him1 to walk in all his ways1 and to keep his commandments1 and his statutes1 and his judgments1 which he commanded our fathers4 #aa3jjh3jei ,and let these my words1 wherewith ,i have made supplication before the ,,lord1 be nigh unto the ,,lord our ,god day and night1 that he maintain the cause of his servant1 and the cause of his people ,israel at all times1 as the matter shall require3 #aa3jjh3jfj ,that all the people of the earth may know that the ,,lord is ,god1 and that there is none else4 #aa3jjh3jfa ,let your heart therefore be perfect with the ,,lord our ,god1 to walk in his statutes1 and to keep his commandments1 as at this day4 #aa3jjh3jfb ,and the king1 and all ,israel with him1 offered sacrifice before the ,,lord4 #aa3jjh3jfc ,and ,solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings1 which he offered unto the ,,lord1 two and twenty thousand oxen1 and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep4 ,so the king and all the children of ,israel dedicated the house of the ,,lord4 #aa3jjh3jfd ,the same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the ,,lord3 for there he offered burnt offerings1 and meat offerings1 and the fat of the peace offerings3 because the brasen altar that was before the ,,lord was too little to receive the burnt offerings1 and meat offerings1 and the fat of the peace offerings4 #aa3jjh3jfe ,and at that time ,solomon held a feast1 and all ,israel with him1 a great congregation1 from the entering in of ,hamath unto the river of ,egypt1 before the ,,lord our ,god1 seven days and seven days1 even fourteen days4 #aa3jjh3jff ,on the eighth day he sent the people away3 and they blessed the king1 and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the ,,lord had done for ,david his servant1 and for ,israel his people4 #aa3jji3jja ,and it came to pass1 when ,solomon had finished the building of the house of the ,,lord1 and the king's house1 and all ,solomon's desire which he was pleased to do1 #aa3jji3jjb ,that the ,,lord appeared to ,solomon the second time1 as he had appeared unto him at ,gibeon4 #aa3jji3jjc ,and the ,,lord said unto him1 ,i have heard thy prayer and thy supplication1 that thou hast made before me3 ,i have hallowed this house1 which thou hast built1 to put my name there for ever2 and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually4 #aa3jji3jjd ,and if thou wilt walk before me1 as ,david thy father walked1 in integrity of heart1 and in uprightness1 to do according to all that ,i have commanded thee1 and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments3 #aa3jji3jje ,then ,i will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon ,israel for ever1 as ,i promised to ,david thy father1 saying1 ,there shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of ,israel4 #aa3jji3jjf ,but if ye shall at all turn from following me1 ye or your children1 and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which ,i have set before you1 but go and serve other gods1 and worship them3 #aa3jji3jjg ,then will ,i cut off ,israel out of the land which ,i have given them2 and this house1 which ,i have hallowed for my name1 will ,i cast out of my sight2 and ,israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people3 #aa3jji3jjh ,and at this house1 which is high1 every one that passeth by it shall be astonished1 and shall hiss2 and they shall say1 ,why hath the ,,lord done thus unto this land1 and to this house8 #aa3jji3jji ,and they shall answer1 ,because they forsook the ,,lord their ,god1 who brought forth their fathers out of the land of ,egypt1 and have taken hold upon other gods1 and have worshipped them1 and served them3 therefore hath the ,,lord brought upon them all this evil4 #aa3jji3jaj ,and it came to pass at the end of twenty years1 when ,solomon had built the two houses1 the house of the ,,lord1 and the king's house1 #aa3jji3jaa 7,now ,hiram the king of ,tyre had furnished ,solomon with cedar trees and fir trees1 and with gold1 according to all his desire17 that then king ,solomon gave ,hiram twenty cities in the land of ,galilee4 #aa3jji3jab ,and ,hiram came out from ,tyre to see the cities which ,solomon had given him2 and they pleased him not4 #aa3jji3jac ,and he said1 ,what cities are these which thou hast given me1 my brother8 ,and he called them the land of ,cabul unto this day4 #aa3jji3jad ,and ,hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold4 #aa3jji3jae ,and this is the reason of the levy which king ,solomon raised2 for to build the house of the ,,lord1 and his own house1 and ,millo1 and the wall of ,jerusalem1 and ,hazor1 and ,megiddo1 and ,gezer4 #aa3jji3jaf ,for ,pharaoh king of ,egypt had gone up1 and taken ,gezer1 and burnt it with fire1 and slain the ,canaanites that dwelt in the city1 and given it for a present unto his daughter1 ,solomon's wife4 #aa3jji3jag ,and ,solomon built ,gezer1 and ,bethhoron the nether1 #aa3jji3jah ,and ,baalath1 and ,tadmor in the wilderness1 in the land1 #aa3jji3jai ,and all the cities of store that ,solomon had1 and cities for his chariots1 and cities for his horsemen1 and that which ,solomon desired to build in ,jerusalem1 and in ,lebanon1 and in all the land of his dominion4 #aa3jji3jbj ,and all the people that were left of the ,amorites1 ,hittites1 ,perizzites1 ,hivites1 and ,jebusites1 which were not of the children of ,israel1 #aa3jji3jba ,their children that were left after them in the land1 whom the children of ,israel also were not able utterly to destroy1 upon those did ,solomon levy a tribute of bondservice unto this day4 #aa3jji3jbb ,but of the children of ,israel did ,solomon make no bondmen3 but they were men of war1 and his servants1 and his princes1 and his captains1 and rulers of his chariots1 and his horsemen4 #aa3jji3jbc ,these were the chief of the officers that were over ,solomon's work1 five hundred and fifty1 which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work4 #aa3jji3jbd ,but ,pharaoh's daughter came up out of the city of ,david unto her house which ,solomon had built for her3 then did he build ,millo4 #aa3jji3jbe ,and three times in a year did ,solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the ,,lord1 and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the ,,lord4 ,so he finished the house4 #aa3jji3jbf ,and king ,solomon made a navy of ships in ,eziongeber1 which is beside ,eloth1 on the shore of the ,red sea1 in the land of ,edom4 #aa3jji3jbg ,and ,hiram sent in the navy his servants1 shipmen that had knowledge of the sea1 with the servants of ,solomon4 #aa3jji3jbh ,and they came to ,ophir1 and fetched from thence gold1 four hundred and twenty talents1 and brought it to king ,solomon4 #aa3jaj3jja ,and when the queen of ,sheba heard of the fame of ,solomon concerning the name of the ,,lord1 she came to prove him with hard questions4 #aa3jaj3jjb ,and she came to ,jerusalem with a very great train1 with camels that bare spices1 and very much gold1 and precious stones3 and when she was come to ,solomon1 she communed with him of all that was in her heart4 #aa3jaj3jjc ,and ,solomon told her all her questions3 there was not any thing hid from the king1 which he told her not4 #aa3jaj3jjd ,and when the queen of ,sheba had seen all ,solomon's wisdom1 and the house that he had built1 #aa3jaj3jje ,and the meat of his table1 and the sitting of his servants1 and the attendance of his ministers1 and their apparel1 and his cupbearers1 and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the ,,lord2 there was no more spirit in her4 #aa3jaj3jjf ,and she said to the king1 ,it was a true report that ,i heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom4 #aa3jaj3jjg ,howbeit ,i believed not the words1 until ,i came1 and mine eyes had seen it3 and1 behold1 the half was not told me3 thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which ,i heard4 #aa3jaj3jjh ,happy are thy men1 happy are these thy servants1 which stand continually before thee1 and that hear thy wisdom4 #aa3jaj3jji ,blessed be the ,,lord thy ,god1 which delighted in thee1 to set thee on the throne of ,israel3 because the ,,lord loved ,israel for ever1 therefore made he thee king1 to do judgment and justice4 #aa3jaj3jaj ,and she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold1 and of spices very great store1 and precious stones3 there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of ,sheba gave to king ,solomon4 #aa3jaj3jaa ,and the navy also of ,hiram1 that brought gold from ,ophir1 brought in from ,ophir great plenty of almug trees1 and precious stones4 #aa3jaj3jab ,and the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the ,,lord1 and for the king's house1 harps also and psalteries for singers3 there came no such almug trees1 nor were seen unto this day4 #aa3jaj3jac ,and king ,solomon gave unto the queen of ,sheba all her desire1 whatsoever she asked1 beside that which ,solomon gave her of his royal bounty4 ,so she turned and went to her own country1 she and her servants4 #aa3jaj3jad ,now the weight of gold that came to ,solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold1 #aa3jaj3jae ,beside that he had of the merchantmen1 and of the traffick of the spice merchants1 and of all the kings of ,arabia1 and of the governors of the country4 #aa3jaj3jaf ,and king ,solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold3 six hundred shekels of gold went to one target4 #aa3jaj3jag ,and he made three hundred shields of beaten gold2 three pound of gold went to one shield3 and the king put them in the house of the forest of ,lebanon4 #aa3jaj3jah ,moreover the king made a great throne of ivory1 and overlaid it with the best gold4 #aa3jaj3jai ,the throne had six steps1 and the top of the throne was round behind3 and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat1 and two lions stood beside the stays4 #aa3jaj3jbj ,and twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps3 there was not the like made in any kingdom4 #aa3jaj3jba ,and all king ,solomon's drinking vessels were of gold1 and all the vessels of the house of the forest of ,lebanon were of pure gold2 none were of silver3 it was nothing accounted of in the days of ,solomon4 #aa3jaj3jbb ,for the king had at sea a navy of ,tharshish with the navy of ,hiram3 once in three years came the navy of ,tharshish1 bringing gold1 and silver1 ivory1 and apes1 and peacocks4 #aa3jaj3jbc ,so king ,solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom4 #aa3jaj3jbd ,and all the earth sought to ,solomon1 to hear his wisdom1 which ,god had put in his heart4 #aa3jaj3jbe ,and they brought every man his present1 vessels of silver1 and vessels of gold1 and garments1 and armour1 and spices1 horses1 and mules1 a rate year by year4 #aa3jaj3jbf ,and ,solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen3 and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots1 and twelve thousand horsemen1 whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots1 and with the king at ,jerusalem4 #aa3jaj3jbg ,and the king made silver to be in ,jerusalem as stones1 and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the vale1 for abundance4 #aa3jaj3jbh ,and ,solomon had horses brought out of ,egypt1 and linen yarn3 the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price4 #aa3jaj3jbi ,and a chariot came up and went out of ,egypt for six hundred shekels of silver1 and an horse for an hundred and fifty3 and so for all the kings of the ,hittites1 and for the kings of ,syria1 did they bring them out by their means4 #aa3jaa3jja ,but king ,solomon loved many strange women1 together with the daughter of ,pharaoh1 women of the ,moabites1 ,ammonites1 ,edomites1 ,zidonians1 and ,hittites3 #aa3jaa3jjb ,of the nations concerning which the ,,lord said unto the children of ,israel1 ,ye shall not go in to them1 neither shall they come in unto you3 for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods3 ,solomon clave unto these in love4 #aa3jaa3jjc ,and he had seven hundred wives1 princesses1 and three hundred concubines3 and his wives turned away his heart4 #aa3jaa3jjd ,for it came to pass1 when ,solomon was old1 that his wives turned away his heart after other gods3 and his heart was not perfect with the ,,lord his ,god1 as was the heart of ,david his father4 #aa3jaa3jje ,for ,solomon went after ,ashtoreth the goddess of the ,zidonians1 and after ,milcom the abomination of the ,ammonites4 #aa3jaa3jjf ,and ,solomon did evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 and went not fully after the ,,lord1 as did ,david his father4 #aa3jaa3jjg ,then did ,solomon build an high place for ,chemosh1 the abomination of ,moab1 in the hill that is before ,jerusalem1 and for ,molech1 the abomination of the children of ,ammon4 #aa3jaa3jjh ,and likewise did he for all his strange wives1 which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods4 #aa3jaa3jji ,and the ,,lord was angry with ,solomon1 because his heart was turned from the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 which had appeared unto him twice1 #aa3jaa3jaj ,and had commanded him concerning this thing1 that he should not go after other gods3 but he kept not that which the ,,lord commanded4 #aa3jaa3jaa ,wherefore the ,,lord said unto ,solomon1 ,forasmuch as this is done of thee1 and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes1 which ,i have commanded thee1 ,i will surely rend the kingdom from thee1 and will give it to thy servant4 #aa3jaa3jab ,notwithstanding in thy days ,i will not do it for ,david thy father's sake3 but ,i will rend it out of the hand of thy son4 #aa3jaa3jac ,howbeit ,i will not rend away all the kingdom2 but will give one tribe to thy son for ,david my servant's sake1 and for ,jerusalem's sake which ,i have chosen4 #aa3jaa3jad ,and the ,,lord stirred up an adversary unto ,solomon1 ,hadad the ,edomite3 he was of the king's seed in ,edom4 #aa3jaa3jae ,for it came to pass1 when ,david was in ,edom1 and ,joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain1 after he had smitten every male in ,edom2 #aa3jaa3jaf 7,for six months did ,joab remain there with all ,israel1 until he had cut off every male in ,edom37 #aa3jaa3jag ,that ,hadad fled1 he and certain ,edomites of his father's servants with him1 to go into ,egypt2 ,hadad being yet a little child4 #aa3jaa3jah ,and they arose out of ,midian1 and came to ,paran3 and they took men with them out of ,paran1 and they came to ,egypt1 unto ,pharaoh king of ,egypt2 which gave him an house1 and appointed him victuals1 and gave him land4 #aa3jaa3jai ,and ,hadad found great favour in the sight of ,pharaoh1 so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife1 the sister of ,tahpenes the queen4 #aa3jaa3jbj ,and the sister of ,tahpenes bare him ,genubath his son1 whom ,tahpenes weaned in ,pharaoh's house3 and ,genubath was in ,pharaoh's household among the sons of ,pharaoh4 #aa3jaa3jba ,and when ,hadad heard in ,egypt that ,david slept with his fathers1 and that ,joab the captain of the host was dead1 ,hadad said to ,pharaoh1 ,let me depart1 that ,i may go to mine own country4 #aa3jaa3jbb ,then ,pharaoh said unto him1 ,but what hast thou lacked with me1 that1 behold1 thou seekest to go to thine own country8 ,and he answered1 ,nothing3 howbeit let me go in any wise4 #aa3jaa3jbc ,and ,god stirred him up another adversary1 ,rezon the son of ,eliadah1 which fled from his lord ,hadadezer king of ,zobah3 #aa3jaa3jbd ,and he gathered men unto him1 and became captain over a band1 when ,david slew them of ,zobah3 and they went to ,damascus1 and dwelt therein1 and reigned in ,damascus4 #aa3jaa3jbe ,and he was an adversary to ,israel all the days of ,solomon1 beside the mischief that ,hadad did3 and he abhorred ,israel1 and reigned over ,syria4 #aa3jaa3jbf ,and ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 an ,ephrathite of ,zereda1 ,solomon's servant1 whose mother's name was ,zeruah1 a widow woman1 even he lifted up his hand against the king4 #aa3jaa3jbg ,and this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king3 ,solomon built ,millo1 and repaired the breaches of the city of ,david his father4 #aa3jaa3jbh ,and the man ,jeroboam was a mighty man of valour3 and ,solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious1 he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of ,joseph4 #aa3jaa3jbi ,and it came to pass at that time when ,jeroboam went out of ,jerusalem1 that the prophet ,ahijah the ,shilonite found him in the way2 and he had clad himself with a new garment2 and they two were alone in the field3 #aa3jaa3jcj ,and ,ahijah caught the new garment that was on him1 and rent it in twelve pieces3 #aa3jaa3jca ,and he said to ,jeroboam1 ,take thee ten pieces3 for thus saith the ,,lord1 the ,god of ,israel1 ,behold1 ,i will rend the kingdom out of the hand of ,solomon1 and will give ten tribes to thee3 #aa3jaa3jcb 7,but he shall have one tribe for my servant ,david's sake1 and for ,jerusalem's sake1 the city which ,i have chosen out of all the tribes of ,israel37 #aa3jaa3jcc ,because that they have forsaken me1 and have worshipped ,ashtoreth the goddess of the ,zidonians1 ,chemosh the god of the ,moabites1 and ,milcom the god of the children of ,ammon1 and have not walked in my ways1 to do that which is right in mine eyes1 and to keep my statutes and my judgments1 as did ,david his father4 #aa3jaa3jcd ,howbeit ,i will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand3 but ,i will make him prince all the days of his life for ,david my servant's sake1 whom ,i chose1 because he kept my commandments and my statutes3 #aa3jaa3jce ,but ,i will take the kingdom out of his son's hand1 and will give it unto thee1 even ten tribes4 #aa3jaa3jcf ,and unto his son will ,i give one tribe1 that ,david my servant may have a light alway before me in ,jerusalem1 the city which ,i have chosen me to put my name there4 #aa3jaa3jcg ,and ,i will take thee1 and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth1 and shalt be king over ,israel4 #aa3jaa3jch ,and it shall be1 if thou wilt hearken unto all that ,i command thee1 and wilt walk in my ways1 and do that is right in my sight1 to keep my statutes and my commandments1 as ,david my servant did2 that ,i will be with thee1 and build thee a sure house1 as ,i built for ,david1 and will give ,israel unto thee4 #aa3jaa3jci ,and ,i will for this afflict the seed of ,david1 but not for ever4 #aa3jaa3jdj ,solomon sought therefore to kill ,jeroboam4 ,and ,jeroboam arose1 and fled into ,egypt1 unto ,shishak king of ,egypt1 and was in ,egypt until the death of ,solomon4 #aa3jaa3jda ,and the rest of the acts of ,solomon1 and all that he did1 and his wisdom1 are they not written in the book of the acts of ,solomon8 #aa3jaa3jdb ,and the time that ,solomon reigned in ,jerusalem over all ,israel was forty years4 #aa3jaa3jdc ,and ,solomon slept with his fathers1 and was buried in the city of ,david his father3 and ,rehoboam his son reigned in his stead4 #aa3jab3jja ,and ,rehoboam went to ,shechem3 for all ,israel were come to ,shechem to make him king4 #aa3jab3jjb ,and it came to pass1 when ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 who was yet in ,egypt1 heard of it1 7for he was fled from the presence of king ,solomon1 and ,jeroboam dwelt in ,egypt27 #aa3jab3jjc ,that they sent and called him4 ,and ,jeroboam and all the congregation of ,israel came1 and spake unto ,rehoboam1 saying1 #aa3jab3jjd ,thy father made our yoke grievous3 now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father1 and his heavy yoke which he put upon us1 lighter1 and we will serve thee4 #aa3jab3jje ,and he said unto them1 ,depart yet for three days1 then come again to me4 ,and the people departed4 #aa3jab3jjf ,and king ,rehoboam consulted with the old men1 that stood before ,solomon his father while he yet lived1 and said1 ,how do ye advise that ,i may answer this people8 #aa3jab3jjg ,and they spake unto him1 saying1 ,if thou wilt be a servant unto this people this day1 and wilt serve them1 and answer them1 and speak good words to them1 then they will be thy servants for ever4 #aa3jab3jjh ,but he forsook the counsel of the old men1 which they had given him1 and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him1 and which stood before him3 #aa3jab3jji ,and he said unto them1 ,what counsel give ye that we may answer this people1 who have spoken to me1 saying1 ,make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter8 #aa3jab3jaj ,and the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him1 saying1 ,thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee1 saying1 ,thy father made our yoke heavy1 but make thou it lighter unto us2 thus shalt thou say unto them1 ,my little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins4 #aa3jab3jaa ,and now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke1 ,i will add to your yoke3 my father hath chastised you with whips1 but ,i will chastise you with scorpions4 #aa3jab3jab ,so ,jeroboam and all the people came to ,rehoboam the third day1 as the king had appointed1 saying1 ,come to me again the third day4 #aa3jab3jac ,and the king answered the people roughly1 and forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him2 #aa3jab3jad ,and spake to them after the counsel of the young men1 saying1 ,my father made your yoke heavy1 and ,i will add to your yoke3 my father also chastised you with whips1 but ,i will chastise you with scorpions4 #aa3jab3jae ,wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people2 for the cause was from the ,,lord1 that he might perform his saying1 which the ,,lord spake by ,ahijah the ,shilonite unto ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat4 #aa3jab3jaf ,so when all ,israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them1 the people answered the king1 saying1 ,what portion have we in ,david8 neither have we inheritance in the son of ,jesse3 to your tents1 ,o ,israel3 now see to thine own house1 ,david4 ,so ,israel departed unto their tents4 #aa3jab3jag ,but as for the children of ,israel which dwelt in the cities of ,judah1 ,rehoboam reigned over them4 #aa3jab3jah ,then king ,rehoboam sent ,adoram1 who was over the tribute2 and all ,israel stoned him with stones1 that he died4 ,therefore king ,rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot1 to flee to ,jerusalem4 #aa3jab3jai ,so ,israel rebelled against the house of ,david unto this day4 #aa3jab3jbj ,and it came to pass1 when all ,israel heard that ,jeroboam was come again1 that they sent and called him unto the congregation1 and made him king over all ,israel3 there was none that followed the house of ,david1 but the tribe of ,judah only4 #aa3jab3jba ,and when ,rehoboam was come to ,jerusalem1 he assembled all the house of ,judah1 with the tribe of ,benjamin1 an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men1 which were warriors1 to fight against the house of ,israel1 to bring the kingdom again to ,rehoboam the son of ,solomon4 #aa3jab3jbb ,but the word of ,god came unto ,shemaiah the man of ,god1 saying1 #aa3jab3jbc ,speak unto ,rehoboam1 the son of ,solomon1 king of ,judah1 and unto all the house of ,judah and ,benjamin1 and to the remnant of the people1 saying1 #aa3jab3jbd ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,ye shall not go up1 nor fight against your brethren the children of ,israel3 return every man to his house2 for this thing is from me4 ,they hearkened therefore to the word of the ,,lord1 and returned to depart1 according to the word of the ,,lord4 #aa3jab3jbe ,then ,jeroboam built ,shechem in mount ,ephraim1 and dwelt therein2 and went out from thence1 and built ,penuel4 #aa3jab3jbf ,and ,jeroboam said in his heart1 ,now shall the kingdom return to the house of ,david3 #aa3jab3jbg ,if this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of the ,,lord at ,jerusalem1 then shall the heart of this people turn again unto their lord1 even unto ,rehoboam king of ,judah1 and they shall kill me1 and go again to ,rehoboam king of ,judah4 #aa3jab3jbh ,whereupon the king took counsel1 and made two calves of gold1 and said unto them1 ,it is too much for you to go up to ,jerusalem3 behold thy gods1 ,o ,israel1 which brought thee up out of the land of ,egypt4 #aa3jab3jbi ,and he set the one in ,bethel1 and the other put he in ,dan4 #aa3jab3jcj ,and this thing became a sin3 for the people went to worship before the one1 even unto ,dan4 #aa3jab3jca ,and he made an house of high places1 and made priests of the lowest of the people1 which were not of the sons of ,levi4 #aa3jab3jcb ,and ,jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month1 on the fifteenth day of the month1 like unto the feast that is in ,judah1 and he offered upon the altar4 ,so did he in ,bethel1 sacrificing unto the calves that he had made3 and he placed in ,bethel the priests of the high places which he had made4 #aa3jab3jcc ,so he offered upon the altar which he had made in ,bethel the fifteenth day of the eighth month1 even in the month which he had devised of his own heart2 and ordained a feast unto the children of ,israel3 and he offered upon the altar1 and burnt incense4 #aa3jac3jja ,and1 behold1 there came a man of ,god out of ,judah by the word of the ,,lord unto ,bethel3 and ,jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense4 #aa3jac3jjb ,and he cried against the altar in the word of the ,,lord1 and said1 ,o altar1 altar1 thus saith the ,,lord2 ,behold1 a child shall be born unto the house of ,david1 ,josiah by name2 and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee1 and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee4 #aa3jac3jjc ,and he gave a sign the same day1 saying1 ,this is the sign which the ,,lord hath spoken2 ,behold1 the altar shall be rent1 and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out4 #aa3jac3jjd ,and it came to pass1 when king ,jeroboam heard the saying of the man of ,god1 which had cried against the altar in ,bethel1 that he put forth his hand from the altar1 saying1 ,lay hold on him4 ,and his hand1 which he put forth against him1 dried up1 so that he could not pull it in again to him4 #aa3jac3jje ,the altar also was rent1 and the ashes poured out from the altar1 according to the sign which the man of ,god had given by the word of the ,,lord4 #aa3jac3jjf ,and the king answered and said unto the man of ,god1 ,intreat now the face of the ,,lord thy ,god1 and pray for me1 that my hand may be restored me again4 ,and the man of ,god besought the ,,lord1 and the king's hand was restored him again1 and became as it was before4 #aa3jac3jjg ,and the king said unto the man of ,god1 ,come home with me1 and refresh thyself1 and ,i will give thee a reward4 #aa3jac3jjh ,and the man of ,god said unto the king1 ,if thou wilt give me half thine house1 ,i will not go in with thee1 neither will ,i eat bread nor drink water in this place3 #aa3jac3jji ,for so was it charged me by the word of the ,,lord1 saying1 ,eat no bread1 nor drink water1 nor turn again by the same way that thou camest4 #aa3jac3jaj ,so he went another way1 and returned not by the way that he came to ,bethel4 #aa3jac3jaa ,now there dwelt an old prophet in ,bethel2 and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of ,god had done that day in ,bethel3 the words which he had spoken unto the king1 them they told also to their father4 #aa3jac3jab ,and their father said unto them1 ,what way went he8 ,for his sons had seen what way the man of ,god went1 which came from ,judah4 #aa3jac3jac ,and he said unto his sons1 ,saddle me the ass4 ,so they saddled him the ass3 and he rode thereon1 #aa3jac3jad ,and went after the man of ,god1 and found him sitting under an oak3 and he said unto him1 ,art thou the man of ,god that camest from ,judah8 ,and he said1 ,i am4 #aa3jac3jae ,then he said unto him1 ,come home with me1 and eat bread4 #aa3jac3jaf ,and he said1 ,i may not return with thee1 nor go in with thee3 neither will ,i eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place3 #aa3jac3jag ,for it was said to me by the word of the ,,lord1 ,thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there1 nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest4 #aa3jac3jah ,he said unto him1 ,i am a prophet also as thou art2 and an angel spake unto me by the word of the ,,lord1 saying1 ,bring him back with thee into thine house1 that he may eat bread and drink water4 ,but he lied unto him4 #aa3jac3jai ,so he went back with him1 and did eat bread in his house1 and drank water4 #aa3jac3jbj ,and it came to pass1 as they sat at the table1 that the word of the ,,lord came unto the prophet that brought him back3 #aa3jac3jba ,and he cried unto the man of ,god that came from ,judah1 saying1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the ,,lord1 and hast not kept the commandment which the ,,lord thy ,god commanded thee1 #aa3jac3jbb ,but camest back1 and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place1 of the which the ,lord did say to thee1 ,eat no bread1 and drink no water2 thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers4 #aa3jac3jbc ,and it came to pass1 after he had eaten bread1 and after he had drunk1 that he saddled for him the ass1 to wit1 for the prophet whom he had brought back4 #aa3jac3jbd ,and when he was gone1 a lion met him by the way1 and slew him3 and his carcase was cast in the way1 and the ass stood by it1 the lion also stood by the carcase4 #aa3jac3jbe ,and1 behold1 men passed by1 and saw the carcase cast in the way1 and the lion standing by the carcase3 and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet dwelt4 #aa3jac3jbf ,and when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof1 he said1 ,it is the man of ,god1 who was disobedient unto the word of the ,,lord3 therefore the ,,lord hath delivered him unto the lion1 which hath torn him1 and slain him1 according to the word of the ,,lord1 which he spake unto him4 #aa3jac3jbg ,and he spake to his sons1 saying1 ,saddle me the ass4 ,and they saddled him4 #aa3jac3jbh ,and he went and found his carcase cast in the way1 and the ass and the lion standing by the carcase3 the lion had not eaten the carcase1 nor torn the ass4 #aa3jac3jbi ,and the prophet took up the carcase of the man of ,god1 and laid it upon the ass1 and brought it back3 and the old prophet came to the city1 to mourn and to bury him4 #aa3jac3jcj ,and he laid his carcase in his own grave2 and they mourned over him1 saying1 ,alas1 my brother6 #aa3jac3jca ,and it came to pass1 after he had buried him1 that he spake to his sons1 saying1 ,when ,i am dead1 then bury me in the sepulchre wherein the man of ,god is buried2 lay my bones beside his bones3 #aa3jac3jcb ,for the saying which he cried by the word of the ,,lord against the altar in ,bethel1 and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of ,samaria1 shall surely come to pass4 #aa3jac3jcc ,after this thing ,jeroboam returned not from his evil way1 but made again of the lowest of the people priests of the high places3 whosoever would1 he consecrated him1 and he became one of the priests of the high places4 #aa3jac3jcd ,and this thing became sin unto the house of ,jeroboam1 even to cut it off1 and to destroy it from off the face of the earth4 #aa3jad3jja ,at that time ,abijah the son of ,jeroboam fell sick4 #aa3jad3jjb ,and ,jeroboam said to his wife1 ,arise1 ,i pray thee1 and disguise thyself1 that thou be not known to be the wife of ,jeroboam2 and get thee to ,shiloh3 behold1 there is ,ahijah the prophet1 which told me that ,i should be king over this people4 #aa3jad3jjc ,and take with thee ten loaves1 and cracknels1 and a cruse of honey1 and go to him3 he shall tell thee what shall become of the child4 #aa3jad3jjd ,and ,jeroboam's wife did so1 and arose1 and went to ,shiloh1 and came to the house of ,ahijah4 ,but ,ahijah could not see2 for his eyes were set by reason of his age4 #aa3jad3jje ,and the ,,lord said unto ,ahijah1 ,behold1 the wife of ,jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son2 for he is sick3 thus and thus shalt thou say unto her3 for it shall be1 when she cometh in1 that she shall feign herself to be another woman4 #aa3jad3jjf ,and it was so1 when ,ahijah heard the sound of her feet1 as she came in at the door1 that he said1 ,come in1 thou wife of ,jeroboam2 why feignest thou thyself to be another8 for ,i am sent to thee with heavy tidings4 #aa3jad3jjg ,go1 tell ,jeroboam1 ,thus saith the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 ,forasmuch as ,i exalted thee from among the people1 and made thee prince over my people ,israel1 #aa3jad3jjh ,and rent the kingdom away from the house of ,david1 and gave it thee3 and yet thou hast not been as my servant ,david1 who kept my commandments1 and who followed me with all his heart1 to do that only which was right in mine eyes2 #aa3jad3jji ,but hast done evil above all that were before thee3 for thou hast gone and made thee other gods1 and molten images1 to provoke me to anger1 and hast cast me behind thy back3 #aa3jad3jaj ,therefore1 behold1 ,i will bring evil upon the house of ,jeroboam1 and will cut off from ,jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall1 and him that is shut up and left in ,israel1 and will take away the remnant of the house of ,jeroboam1 as a man taketh away dung1 till it be all gone4 #aa3jad3jaa ,him that dieth of ,jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat2 and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat3 for the ,,lord hath spoken it4 #aa3jad3jab ,arise thou therefore1 get thee to thine own house3 and when thy feet enter into the city1 the child shall die4 #aa3jad3jac ,and all ,israel shall mourn for him1 and bury him3 for he only of ,jeroboam shall come to the grave1 because in him there is found some good thing toward the ,,lord ,god of ,israel in the house of ,jeroboam4 #aa3jad3jad ,moreover the ,,lord shall raise him up a king over ,israel1 who shall cut off the house of ,jeroboam that day3 but what8 even now4 #aa3jad3jae ,for the ,,lord shall smite ,israel1 as a reed is shaken in the water1 and he shall root up ,israel out of this good land1 which he gave to their fathers1 and shall scatter them beyond the river1 because they have made their groves1 provoking the ,,lord to anger4 #aa3jad3jaf ,and he shall give ,israel up because of the sins of ,jeroboam1 who did sin1 and who made ,israel to sin4 #aa3jad3jag ,and ,jeroboam's wife arose1 and departed1 and came to ,tirzah3 and when she came to the threshold of the door1 the child died2 #aa3jad3jah ,and they buried him2 and all ,israel mourned for him1 according to the word of the ,,lord1 which he spake by the hand of his servant ,ahijah the prophet4 #aa3jad3jai ,and the rest of the acts of ,jeroboam1 how he warred1 and how he reigned1 behold1 they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,israel4 #aa3jad3jbj ,and the days which ,jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years3 and he slept with his fathers1 and ,nadab his son reigned in his stead4 #aa3jad3jba ,and ,rehoboam the son of ,solomon reigned in ,judah4 ,rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign1 and he reigned seventeen years in ,jerusalem1 the city which the ,,lord did choose out of all the tribes of ,israel1 to put his name there4 ,and his mother's name was ,naamah an ,ammonitess4 #aa3jad3jbb ,and ,judah did evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed1 above all that their fathers had done4 #aa3jad3jbc ,for they also built them high places1 and images1 and groves1 on every high hill1 and under every green tree4 #aa3jad3jbd ,and there were also sodomites in the land3 and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the ,,lord cast out before the children of ,israel4 #aa3jad3jbe ,and it came to pass in the fifth year of king ,rehoboam1 that ,shishak king of ,egypt came up against ,jerusalem3 #aa3jad3jbf ,and he took away the treasures of the house of the ,,lord1 and the treasures of the king's house2 he even took away all3 and he took away all the shields of gold which ,solomon had made4 #aa3jad3jbg ,and king ,rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields1 and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard1 which kept the door of the king's house4 #aa3jad3jbh ,and it was so1 when the king went into the house of the ,,lord1 that the guard bare them1 and brought them back into the guard chamber4 #aa3jad3jbi ,now the rest of the acts of ,rehoboam1 and all that he did1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,judah8 #aa3jad3jcj ,and there was war between ,rehoboam and ,jeroboam all their days4 #aa3jad3jca ,and ,rehoboam slept with his fathers1 and was buried with his fathers in the city of ,david4 ,and his mother's name was ,naamah an ,ammonitess4 ,and ,abijam his son reigned in his stead4 #aa3jae3jja ,now in the eighteenth year of king ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat reigned ,abijam over ,judah4 #aa3jae3jjb ,three years reigned he in ,jerusalem4 and his mother's name was ,maachah1 the daughter of ,abishalom4 #aa3jae3jjc ,and he walked in all the sins of his father1 which he had done before him3 and his heart was not perfect with the ,,lord his ,god1 as the heart of ,david his father4 #aa3jae3jjd ,nevertheless for ,david's sake did the ,,lord his ,god give him a lamp in ,jerusalem1 to set up his son after him1 and to establish ,jerusalem3 #aa3jae3jje ,because ,david did that which was right in the eyes of the ,,lord1 and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life1 save only in the matter of ,uriah the ,hittite4 #aa3jae3jjf ,and there was war between ,rehoboam and ,jeroboam all the days of his life4 #aa3jae3jjg ,now the rest of the acts of ,abijam1 and all that he did1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,judah8 ,and there was war between ,abijam and ,jeroboam4 #aa3jae3jjh ,and ,abijam slept with his fathers2 and they buried him in the city of ,david3 and ,asa his son reigned in his stead4 #aa3jae3jji ,and in the twentieth year of ,jeroboam king of ,israel reigned ,asa over ,judah4 #aa3jae3jaj ,and forty and one years reigned he in ,jerusalem4 ,and his mother's name was ,maachah1 the daughter of ,abishalom4 #aa3jae3jaa ,and ,asa did that which was right in the eyes of the ,,lord1 as did ,david his father4 #aa3jae3jab ,and he took away the sodomites out of the land1 and removed all the idols that his fathers had made4 #aa3jae3jac ,and also ,maachah his mother1 even her he removed from being queen1 because she had made an idol in a grove2 and ,asa destroyed her idol1 and burnt it by the brook ,kidron4 #aa3jae3jad ,but the high places were not removed3 nevertheless ,asa's heart was perfect with the ,,lord all his days4 #aa3jae3jae ,and he brought in the things which his father had dedicated1 and the things which himself had dedicated1 into the house of the ,,lord1 silver1 and gold1 and vessels4 #aa3jae3jaf ,and there was war between ,asa and ,baasha king of ,israel all their days4 #aa3jae3jag ,and ,baasha king of ,israel went up against ,judah1 and built ,ramah1 that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to ,asa king of ,judah4 #aa3jae3jah ,then ,asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the ,,lord1 and the treasures of the king's house1 and delivered them into the hand of his servants3 and king ,asa sent them to ,benhadad1 the son of ,tabrimon1 the son of ,hezion1 king of ,syria1 that dwelt at ,damascus1 saying1 #aa3jae3jai ,there is a league between me and thee1 and between my father and thy father3 behold1 ,i have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold2 come and break thy league with ,baasha king of ,israel1 that he may depart from me4 #aa3jae3jbj ,so ,benhadad hearkened unto king ,asa1 and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of ,israel1 and smote ,ijon1 and ,dan1 and ,abelbethmaachah1 and all ,cinneroth1 with all the land of ,naphtali4 #aa3jae3jba ,and it came to pass1 when ,baasha heard thereof1 that he left off building of ,ramah1 and dwelt in ,tirzah4 #aa3jae3jbb ,then king ,asa made a proclamation throughout all ,judah2 none was exempted3 and they took away the stones of ,ramah1 and the timber thereof1 wherewith ,baasha had builded2 and king ,asa built with them ,geba of ,benjamin1 and ,mizpah4 #aa3jae3jbc ,the rest of all the acts of ,asa1 and all his might1 and all that he did1 and the cities which he built1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,judah8 ,nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet4 #aa3jae3jbd ,and ,asa slept with his fathers1 and was buried with his fathers in the city of ,david his father3 and ,jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead4 #aa3jae3jbe ,and ,nadab the son of ,jeroboam began to reign over ,israel in the second year of ,asa king of ,judah1 and reigned over ,israel two years4 #aa3jae3jbf ,and he did evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 and walked in the way of his father1 and in his sin wherewith he made ,israel to sin4 #aa3jae3jbg ,and ,baasha the son of ,ahijah1 of the house of ,issachar1 conspired against him2 and ,baasha smote him at ,gibbethon1 which belonged to the ,philistines2 for ,nadab and all ,israel laid siege to ,gibbethon4 #aa3jae3jbh ,even in the third year of ,asa king of ,judah did ,baasha slay him1 and reigned in his stead4 #aa3jae3jbi ,and it came to pass1 when he reigned1 that he smote all the house of ,jeroboam2 he left not to ,jeroboam any that breathed1 until he had destroyed him1 according unto the saying of the ,,lord1 which he spake by his servant ,ahijah the ,shilonite3 #aa3jae3jcj ,because of the sins of ,jeroboam which he sinned1 and which he made ,israel sin1 by his provocation wherewith he provoked the ,,lord ,god of ,israel to anger4 #aa3jae3jca ,now the rest of the acts of ,nadab1 and all that he did1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,israel8 #aa3jae3jcb ,and there was war between ,asa and ,baasha king of ,israel all their days4 #aa3jae3jcc ,in the third year of ,asa king of ,judah began ,baasha the son of ,ahijah to reign over all ,israel in ,tirzah1 twenty and four years4 #aa3jae3jcd ,and he did evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 and walked in the way of ,jeroboam1 and in his sin wherewith he made ,israel to sin4 #aa3jaf3jja ,then the word of the ,,lord came to ,jehu the son of ,hanani against ,baasha1 saying1 #aa3jaf3jjb ,forasmuch as ,i exalted thee out of the dust1 and made thee prince over my people ,israel2 and thou hast walked in the way of ,jeroboam1 and hast made my people ,israel to sin1 to provoke me to anger with their sins2 #aa3jaf3jjc ,behold1 ,i will take away the posterity of ,baasha1 and the posterity of his house2 and will make thy house like the house of ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat4 #aa3jaf3jjd ,him that dieth of ,baasha in the city shall the dogs eat2 and him that dieth of his in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat4 #aa3jaf3jje ,now the rest of the acts of ,baasha1 and what he did1 and his might1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,israel8 #aa3jaf3jjf ,so ,baasha slept with his fathers1 and was buried in ,tirzah3 and ,elah his son reigned in his stead4 #aa3jaf3jjg ,and also by the hand of the prophet ,jehu the son of ,hanani came the word of the ,,lord against ,baasha1 and against his house1 even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the ,,lord1 in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands1 in being like the house of ,jeroboam2 and because he killed him4 #aa3jaf3jjh ,in the twenty and sixth year of ,asa king of ,judah began ,elah the son of ,baasha to reign over ,israel in ,tirzah1 two years4 #aa3jaf3jji ,and his servant ,zimri1 captain of half his chariots1 conspired against him1 as he was in ,tirzah1 drinking himself drunk in the house of ,arza steward of his house in ,tirzah4 #aa3jaf3jaj ,and ,zimri went in and smote him1 and killed him1 in the twenty and seventh year of ,asa king of ,judah1 and reigned in his stead4 #aa3jaf3jaa ,and it came to pass1 when he began to reign1 as soon as he sat on his throne1 that he slew all the house of ,baasha3 he left him not one that pisseth against a wall1 neither of his kinsfolks1 nor of his friends4 #aa3jaf3jab ,thus did ,zimri destroy all the house of ,baasha1 according to the word of the ,,lord1 which he spake against ,baasha by ,jehu the prophet4 #aa3jaf3jac ,for all the sins of ,baasha1 and the sins of ,elah his son1 by which they sinned1 and by which they made ,israel to sin1 in provoking the ,,lord ,god of ,israel to anger with their vanities4 #aa3jaf3jad ,now the rest of the acts of ,elah1 and all that he did1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,israel8 #aa3jaf3jae ,in the twenty and seventh year of ,asa king of ,judah did ,zimri reign seven days in ,tirzah4 ,and the people were encamped against ,gibbethon1 which belonged to the ,philistines4 #aa3jaf3jaf ,and the people that were encamped heard say1 ,zimri hath conspired1 and hath also slain the king3 wherefore all ,israel made ,omri1 the captain of the host1 king over ,israel that day in the camp4 #aa3jaf3jag ,and ,omri went up from ,gibbethon1 and all ,israel with him1 and they besieged ,tirzah4 #aa3jaf3jah ,and it came to pass1 when ,zimri saw that the city was taken1 that he went into the palace of the king's house1 and burnt the king's house over him with fire1 and died4 #aa3jaf3jai ,for his sins which he sinned in doing evil in the sight of the ,,lord1 in walking in the way of ,jeroboam1 and in his sin which he did1 to make ,israel to sin4 #aa3jaf3jbj ,now the rest of the acts of ,zimri1 and his treason that he wrought1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,israel8 #aa3jaf3jba ,then were the people of ,israel divided into two parts3 half of the people followed ,tibni the son of ,ginath1 to make him king2 and half followed ,omri4 #aa3jaf3jbb ,but the people that followed ,omri prevailed against the people that followed ,tibni the son of ,ginath3 so ,tibni died1 and ,omri reigned4 #aa3jaf3jbc ,in the thirty and first year of ,asa king of ,judah began ,omri to reign over ,israel1 twelve years3 six years reigned he in ,tirzah4 #aa3jaf3jbd ,and he bought the hill ,samaria of ,shemer for two talents of silver1 and built on the hill1 and called the name of the city which he built1 after the name of ,shemer1 owner of the hill1 ,samaria4 #aa3jaf3jbe ,but ,omri wrought evil in the eyes of the ,,lord1 and did worse than all that were before him4 #aa3jaf3jbf ,for he walked in all the way of ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 and in his sin wherewith he made ,israel to sin1 to provoke the ,,lord ,god of ,israel to anger with their vanities4 #aa3jaf3jbg ,now the rest of the acts of ,omri which he did1 and his might that he shewed1 are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of ,israel8 #aa3jaf3jbh ,so ,omri slept with his fathers1 and was buried in ,samaria3 and ,ahab his son reigned in his stead4 #aa3jaf3jbi ,and in the thirty and eighth year of ,asa king of ,judah began ,ahab the son of ,omri to reign over ,israel3 and ,ahab the son of ,omri reigned over ,israel in ,samaria twenty and two years4 #aa3jaf3jcj ,and ,ahab the son of ,omri did evil in the sight of the ,,lord above all that were before him4 #aa3jaf3jca ,and it came to pass1 as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 that he took to wife ,jezebel the daughter of ,ethbaal king of the ,zidonians1 and went and served ,baal1 and worshipped him4 #aa3jaf3jcb ,and he reared up an altar for ,baal in the house of ,baal1 which he had built in ,samaria4 #aa3jaf3jcc ,and ,ahab made a grove2 and ,ahab did more to provoke the ,,lord ,god of ,israel to anger than all the kings of ,israel that were before him4 #aa3jaf3jcd ,in his days did ,hiel the ,bethelite build ,jericho3 he laid the foundation thereof in ,abiram his firstborn1 and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son ,segub1 according to the word of the ,,lord1 which he spake by ,joshua the son of ,nun4 #aa3jag3jja ,and ,elijah the ,tishbite1 who was of the inhabitants of ,gilead1 said unto ,ahab1 ,as the ,,lord ,god of ,israel liveth1 before whom ,i stand1 there shall not be dew nor rain these years1 but according to my word4 #aa3jag3jjb ,and the word of the ,,lord came unto him1 saying1 #aa3jag3jjc ,get thee hence1 and turn thee eastward1 and hide thyself by the brook ,cherith1 that is before ,jordan4 #aa3jag3jjd ,and it shall be1 that thou shalt drink of the brook2 and ,i have commanded the ravens to feed thee there4 #aa3jag3jje ,so he went and did according unto the word of the ,,lord3 for he went and dwelt by the brook ,cherith1 that is before ,jordan4 #aa3jag3jjf ,and the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning1 and bread and flesh in the evening2 and he drank of the brook4 #aa3jag3jjg ,and it came to pass after a while1 that the brook dried up1 because there had been no rain in the land4 #aa3jag3jjh ,and the word of the ,,lord came unto him1 saying1 #aa3jag3jji ,arise1 get thee to ,zarephath1 which belongeth to ,zidon1 and dwell there3 behold1 ,i have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee4 #aa3jag3jaj ,so he arose and went to ,zarephath4 ,and when he came to the gate of the city1 behold1 the widow woman was there gathering of sticks3 and he called to her1 and said1 ,fetch me1 ,i pray thee1 a little water in a vessel1 that ,i may drink4 #aa3jag3jaa ,and as she was going to fetch it1 he called to her1 and said1 ,bring me1 ,i pray thee1 a morsel of bread in thine hand4 #aa3jag3jab ,and she said1 ,as the ,,lord thy ,god liveth1 ,i have not a cake1 but an handful of meal in a barrel1 and a little oil in a cruse3 and1 behold1 ,i am gathering two sticks1 that ,i may go in and dress it for me and my son1 that we may eat it1 and die4 #aa3jag3jac ,and ,elijah said unto her1 ,fear not2 go and do as thou hast said3 but make me thereof a little cake first1 and bring it unto me1 and after make for thee and for thy son4 #aa3jag3jad ,for thus saith the ,,lord ,god of ,israel1 ,the barrel of meal shall not waste1 neither shall the cruse of oil fail1 until the day that the ,,lord sendeth rain upon the earth4 #aa3jag3jae ,and she went and did according to the saying of ,elijah3 and she1 and he1 and her house1 did eat many days4 #aa3jag3jaf ,and the barrel of meal wasted not1 neither did the cruse of oil fail1 according to the word of the ,,lord1 which he spake by ,elijah4 #aa3jag3jag ,and it came to pass after these things1 that the son of the woman1 the mistress of the house1 fell sick2 and his sickness was so sore1 that there was no breath left in him4 #aa3jag3jah ,and she said unto ,elijah1 ,what have ,i to do with thee1 ,o thou man of ,god8 art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance1 and to slay my son8 #aa3jag3jai ,and he said unto her1 ,give me thy son4 ,and he took him out of her bosom1 and carried him up into a loft1 where he abode1 and laid him upon his own bed4 #aa3jag3jbj ,and he cried unto the ,,lord1 and said1 ,o ,,lord my ,god1 hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom ,i sojourn1 by slaying her son8 #aa3jag3jba ,and he stretched himself upon the child three times1 and cried unto the ,,lord1 and said1 ,o ,,lord my ,god1 ,i pray thee1 let this child's soul come into him again4 #aa3jag3jbb ,and the ,,lord heard the voice of ,elijah2 and the soul of the child came into him again1 and he revived4 #aa3jag3jbc ,and ,elijah took the child1 and brought him down out of the chamber into the house1 and delivered him unto his mother3 and ,elijah said1 ,see1 thy son liveth4 #aa3jag3jbd ,and the woman said to ,elijah1 ,now by this ,i know that thou art a man of ,god1 and that the word of the ,,lord in thy mouth is truth4 #aa3jah3jja ,and it came to pass after many days1 that the word of the ,,lord came to ,elijah in the third year1 saying1 ,go1 shew thyself unto ,ahab2 and ,i will send rain upon the earth4 #aa3jah3jjb ,and ,elijah went to shew himself unto ,ahab4 ,and there was a sore famine in ,samaria4 #aa3jah3jjc ,and ,ahab called ,obadiah1 which was the governor of his house4 7,now ,obadiah feared the ,,lord greatly3 #aa3jah3jjd ,for it was so1 when ,jezebel cut off the prophets of the ,,lord1 that ,obadiah took an hundred prophets1 and hid them by fifty in a cave1 and fed them with bread and water47 #aa3jah3jje ,and ,ahab said unto ,obadiah1 ,go into the land1 unto all fountains of water1 and unto all brooks3 peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive1 that we lose not all the beasts4 #aa3jah3jjf ,so they divided the land between them to pass throughout it3 ,ahab went one way by himself1 and ,obadiah went another way by himself4 #aa3jah3jjg ,and as ,obadiah was in the way1 behold1 ,elijah met him3 and he knew him1 and fell on his face1 and said1 ,art thou that my lord ,elijah8 #aa3jah3jjh ,and he answered him1 ,i am3 go1 tell thy lord1 ,behold1 ,elijah is here4 #aa3jah3jji ,and he said1 ,what have ,i sinned1 that thou wouldest deliver thy servant into the hand of ,ahab1 to slay me8 #aa3jah3jaj ,as the ,,lord thy ,god liveth1 there is no nation or kingdom1 whither my lord hath not sent to seek thee3 and when they said1 ,he is not there2 he took an oath of the kingdom and nation1 that they found thee not4 #aa3jah3jaa ,and now thou sayest1 ,go1 tell thy lord1 ,behold1 ,elijah is here4 #aa3jah3jab ,and it shall come to pass1 as soon as ,i am gone from thee1 that the ,spirit of the ,,lord shall carry thee whither ,i know not2 and so when ,i come and tell ,ahab1 and he cannot find thee1 he shall slay me3 but ,i thy servant fear the ,,lord from my youth4 #aa3jah3jac ,was it not told my lord what ,i did when ,jezebel slew the prophets of the ,,lord1 how ,i hid an hundred men of the ,,lord's prophets by fifty in a cave1 and fed them with bread and water8 #aa3jah3jad ,and now thou sayest1 ,go1 tell thy lord1 ,behold1 ,elijah is here3 and he shall slay me4 #aa3jah3jae ,and ,elijah said1 ,as the ,,lord of hosts liveth1 before whom ,i stand1 ,i will surely shew myself unto him to day4 #aa3jah3jaf ,so ,obadiah went to meet ,ahab1 and told him3 and ,ahab went to meet ,elijah4 #aa3jah3jag ,and it came to pass1 when ,ahab saw ,elijah1 that ,ahab said unto him1 ,art thou he that troubleth ,israel8 #aa3jah3jah ,and he answered1 ,i have not troubled ,israel2 but thou1 and thy father's house1 in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the ,,lord1 and thou hast followed ,baalim4 #aa3jah3jai ,now therefore send1 and gather to me all ,israel unto mount ,carmel1 and the prophets of ,baal four hundred and fifty1 and the prophets of the groves four hundred1 which eat at ,jezebel's table4 #aa3jah3jbj ,so ,ahab sent unto all the children of ,israel1 and gathered the prophets together unto mount ,carmel4 #aa3jah3jba ,and ,elijah came unto all the people1 and said1 ,how long halt ye between two opinions8 if the ,,lord be ,god1 follow him3 but if ,baal1 then follow him4 ,and the people answered him not a word4 #aa3jah3jbb ,then said ,elijah unto the people1 ,i1 even ,i only1 remain a prophet of the ,,lord2 but ,baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men4 #aa3jah3jbc ,let them therefore give us two bullocks2 and let them choose one bullock for themselves1 and cut it in pieces1 and lay it on wood1 and put no fire under3 and ,i will dress the other bullock1 and lay it on wood1 and put no fire under3 #aa3jah3jbd ,and call ye on the name of your gods1 and ,i will call on the name of the ,,lord3 and the ,god that answereth by fire1 let him be ,god4 ,and all the people answered and said1 ,it is well spoken4 #aa3jah3jbe ,and ,elijah said unto the prophets of ,baal1 ,choose you one bullock for yourselves1 and dress it first2 for ye are many2 and call on the name of your gods1 but put no fire under4 #aa3jah3jbf ,and they took the bullock which was given them1 and they dressed it1 and called on the name of ,baal from morning even until noon1 saying1 ,o ,baal1 hear us4 ,but there was no voice1 nor any that answered4 ,and they leaped upon the altar which was made4 #aa3jah3jbg ,and it came to pass at noon1 that ,elijah mocked them1 and said1 ,cry aloud3 for he is a god2 either he is talking1 or he is pursuing1 or he is in a journey1 or peradventure he sleepeth1 and must be awaked4 #aa3jah3jbh ,and they cried aloud1 and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets1 till the blood gushed out upon them4 #aa3jah3jbi ,and it came to pass1 when midday was past1 and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice1 that there was neither voice1 nor any to answer1 nor any that regarded4 #aa3jah3jcj ,and ,elijah said unto all the people1 ,come near unto me4 ,and all the people came near unto him4 ,and he repaired the altar of the ,,lord that was broken down4 #aa3jah3jca ,and ,elijah took twelve stones1 according to the number of the tribes of the sons of ,jacob1 unto whom the word of the ,,lord came1 saying1 ,israel shall be thy name3 #aa3jah3jcb ,and with the stones he built an altar in the name of the ,,lord3 and he made a trench about the altar1 as great as would contain two measures of seed4 #aa3jah3jcc ,and he put the wood in order1 and cut the bullock in pieces1 and laid him on the wood1 and said1 ,fill four barrels with water1 and pour it on the burnt sacrifice1 and on the wood4 #aa3jah3jcd ,and he said1 ,do it the second time4 ,and they did it the second time4 ,and he said1 ,do it the third time4 ,and they did it the third time4 #aa3jah3jce ,and the water ran round about the altar2 and he filled the trench also with water4 #aa3jah3jcf ,and it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice1 that ,elijah the prophet came near1 and said1 ,,lord ,god of ,abraham1 ,isaac1 and of ,israel1 let it be known this day that thou art ,god in ,israel1 and that ,i am thy servant1 and that ,i have done all these things at thy word4 #aa3jah3jcg ,hear me1 ,o ,,lord1 hear me1 that this people may know that thou art the ,,lord ,god1 and that thou hast turned their heart back again4 #aa3jah3jch ,then the fire of the ,,lord fell1 and consumed the burnt sacrifice1 and the wood1 and the stones1 and the dust1 and licked up the water that was in the trench4 #aa3jah3jci ,and when all the people saw it1 they fell on their faces3 and they said1 ,the ,,lord1 he is the ,god2 the ,,lord1 he is the ,god4 #aa3jah3jdj ,and ,elijah said unto them1 ,take the prophets of ,baal2 let not one of them escape4 ,and they took them3 and ,elijah brought them down to the brook ,kishon1 and slew them there4 #aa3jah3jda ,and ,elijah said unto ,ahab1 ,get thee up1 eat and drink2 for there is a sound of abundance of rain4 #aa3jah3jdb ,so ,ahab went up to eat and to drink4 ,and ,elijah went up to the top of ,carmel2 and he cast himself down upon the earth1 and put his face between his knees1 #aa3jah3jdc ,and said to his servant1 ,go up now1 look toward the sea4 ,and he went up1 and looked1 and said1 ,there is nothing4 ,and he said1 ,go again seven times4 #aa3jah3jdd ,and it came to pass at the seventh time1 that he said1 ,behold1 there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea1 like a man's hand4 ,and he said1 ,go up1 say unto ,ahab1 ,prepare thy chariot1 and get thee down that the rain stop thee not4 #aa3jah3jde ,and it came to pass in the mean while1 that the heaven was black with clouds and wind1 and there was a great rain4 ,and ,ahab rode1 and went to ,jezreel4 #aa3jah3jdf ,and the hand of the ,,lord was on ,elijah2 and he girded up his loins1 and ran before ,ahab to the entrance of ,jezreel4 #aa3jai3jja ,and ,ahab told ,jezebel all that ,elijah had done1 and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword4 #aa3jai3jjb ,then ,jezebel sent a messenger unto ,elijah1 saying1 ,so let the gods do to me1 and more also1 if ,i make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time4 #aa3jai3jjc ,and when he saw that1 he arose1 and went for his life1 and came to ,beersheba1 which belongeth to ,judah1 and left his servant there4 #aa3jai3jjd ,but he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness1 and came and sat down under a juniper tree3 and he requested for himself that he might die2 and said1 ,it is enough2 now1 ,o ,,lord1 take away my life2 for ,i am not better than my fathers4 #aa3jai3jje ,and as he lay and slept under a juniper tree1 behold1 then an angel touched him1 and said unto him1 ,arise and eat4 #aa3jai3jjf ,and he looked1 and1 behold1 there was a cake baken on the coals1 and a cruse of water at his head4 ,and he did eat and drink1 and laid him down again4 #aa3jai3jjg ,and the angel of the ,,lord came again the second time1 and touched him1 and said1 ,arise and eat2 because the journey is too great for thee4 #aa3jai3jjh ,and he arose1 and did eat and drink1 and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto ,horeb the mount of ,god4 #aa3jai3jji ,and he came thither unto a cave1 and lodged there2 and1 behold1 the word of the ,,lord came to him1 and he said unto him1 ,what doest thou here1 ,elijah8 #aa3jai3jaj ,and he said1 ,i have been very jealous for the ,,lord ,god of hosts3 for the children of ,israel have forsaken thy covenant1 thrown down thine altars1 and slain thy prophets with the sword2 and ,i1 even ,i only1 am left2 and they seek my life1 to take it away4 #aa3jai3jaa ,and he said1 ,go forth1 and stand upon the mount before the ,,lord4 ,and1 behold1 the ,,lord passed by1 and a great and strong wind rent the mountains1 and brake in pieces the rocks before the ,,lord2 but the ,,lord was not in the wind3 and after the wind an earthquake2 but the ,,lord was not in the earthquake3 #aa3jai3jab ,and after the earthquake a fire2 but the ,,lord was not in the fire3 and after the fire a still small voice4 #aa3jai3jac ,and it was so1 when ,elijah heard it1 that he wrapped his face in his mantle1 and went out1 and stood in the entering in of the cave4 ,and1 behold1 there came a voice unto him1 and said1 ,what doest thou here1 ,elijah8 #aa3jai3jad ,and he said1 ,i have been very jealous for the ,,lord ,god of hosts3 because the children of ,israel have forsaken thy covenant1 thrown down thine altars1 and slain thy prophets with the sword2 and ,i1 even ,i only1 am left2 and they seek my life1 to take it away4 #aa3jai3jae ,and the ,,lord said unto him1 ,go1 return on thy way to the wilderness of ,damascus3 and when thou comest1 anoint ,hazael to be king over ,syria3 #aa3jai3jaf ,and ,jehu the son of ,nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over ,israel3 and ,elisha the son of ,shaphat of ,abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room4 #aa3jai3jag ,and it shall come to pass1 that him that escapeth the sword of ,hazael shall ,jehu slay3 and him that escapeth from the sword of ,jehu shall ,elisha slay4 #aa3jai3jah ,yet ,i have left me seven thousand in ,israel1 all the knees which have not bowed unto ,baal1 and every mouth which hath not kissed him4 #aa3jai3jai ,so he departed thence1 and found ,elisha the son of ,shaphat1 who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him1 and he with the twelfth3 and ,elijah passed by him1 and cast his mantle upon him4 #aa3jai3jbj ,and he left the oxen1 and ran after ,elijah1 and said1 ,let me1 ,i pray thee1 kiss my father and my mother1 and then ,i will follow thee4 ,and he said unto him1 ,go back again3 for what have ,i done to thee8 #aa3jai3jba ,and he returned back from him1 and took a yoke of oxen1 and slew them1 and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen1 and gave unto the people1 and they did eat4 ,then he arose1 and went after ,elijah1 and ministered unto him4 #aa3jbj3jja ,and ,benhadad the king of ,syria gathered all his host together3 and there were thirty and two kings with him1 and horses1 and chariots2 and he went up and besieged ,samaria1 and warred against it4 #aa3jbj3jjb ,and he sent messengers to ,ahab king of ,israel into the city1 and said unto him1 ,thus saith ,benhadad1 #aa3jbj3jjc ,thy silver and thy gold is mine2 thy wives also and thy children1 even the goodliest1 are mine4 #aa3jbj3jjd ,and the king of ,israel answered and said1 ,my lord1 ,o king1 according to thy saying1 ,i am thine1 and all that ,i have4 #aa3jbj3jje ,and the messengers came again1 and said1 ,thus speaketh ,benhadad1 saying1 ,although ,i have sent unto thee1 saying1 ,thou shalt deliver me thy silver1 and thy gold1 and thy wives1 and thy children2 #aa3jbj3jjf ,yet ,i will send my servants unto thee to morrow about this time1 and they shall search thine house1 and the houses of thy servants2 and it shall be1 that whatsoever is pleasant in thine eyes1 they shall put it in their hand1 and take it away4 #aa3jbj3jjg ,then the king of ,israel called all the elders of the land1 and said1 ,mark1 ,i pray you1 and see how this man seeketh mischief3 for he sent unto me for my wives1 and for my children1 and for my silver1 and for my gold2 and ,i denied him not4 #aa3jbj3jjh ,and all the elders and all the people said unto him1 ,hearken not unto him1 nor consent4 #aa3jbj3jji ,wherefore he said unto the messengers of ,benhadad1 ,tell my lord the king1 ,all that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first ,i will do3 but this thing ,i may not do4 ,and the messengers departed1 and brought him word again4 #aa3jbj3jaj ,and ,benhadad sent unto him1 and said1 ,the gods do so unto me1 and more also1 if the dust of ,samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me4 #aa3jbj3jaa ,and the king of ,israel answered and said1 ,tell him1 ,let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off4 #aa3jbj3jab ,and it came to pass1 when ,ben-hadad heard this message1 as he was drinking1 he and the kings in the pavilions1 that he said unto his servants1 ,set yourselves in array4 ,and they set themselves in array against the city4 #aa3jbj3jac ,and1 behold1 there came a prophet unto ,ahab king of ,israel1 saying1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,hast thou seen all this great multitude8 behold1 ,i will deliver it into thine hand this day2 and thou shalt know that ,i am the ,,lord4 #aa3jbj3jad ,and ,ahab said1 ,by whom8 ,and he said1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,even by the young men of the princes of the provinces4 ,then he said1 ,who shall order the battle8 ,and he answered1 ,thou4 #aa3jbj3jae ,then he numbered the young men of the princes of the provinces1 and they were two hundred and thirty two3 and after them he numbered all the people1 even all the children of ,israel1 being seven thousand4 #aa3jbj3jaf ,and they went out at noon4 ,but ,benhadad was drinking himself drunk in the pavilions1 he and the kings1 the thirty and two kings that helped him4 #aa3jbj3jag ,and the young men of the princes of the provinces went out first2 and ,benhadad sent out1 and they told him1 saying1 ,there are men come out of ,samaria4 #aa3jbj3jah ,and he said1 ,whether they be come out for peace1 take them alive2 or whether they be come out for war1 take them alive4 #aa3jbj3jai ,so these young men of the princes of the provinces came out of the city1 and the army which followed them4 #aa3jbj3jbj ,and they slew every one his man3 and the ,syrians fled2 and ,israel pursued them3 and ,benhadad the king of ,syria escaped on an horse with the horsemen4 #aa3jbj3jba ,and the king of ,israel went out1 and smote the horses and chariots1 and slew the ,syrians with a great slaughter4 #aa3jbj3jbb ,and the prophet came to the king of ,israel1 and said unto him1 ,go1 strengthen thyself1 and mark1 and see what thou doest3 for at the return of the year the king of ,syria will come up against thee4 #aa3jbj3jbc ,and the servants of the king of ,syria said unto him1 ,their gods are gods of the hills2 therefore they were stronger than we2 but let us fight against them in the plain1 and surely we shall be stronger than they4 #aa3jbj3jbd ,and do this thing1 ,take the kings away1 every man out of his place1 and put captains in their rooms3 #aa3jbj3jbe ,and number thee an army1 like the army that thou hast lost1 horse for horse1 and chariot for chariot3 and we will fight against them in the plain1 and surely we shall be stronger than they4 ,and he hearkened unto their voice1 and did so4 #aa3jbj3jbf ,and it came to pass at the return of the year1 that ,benhadad numbered the ,syrians1 and went up to ,aphek1 to fight against ,israel4 #aa3jbj3jbg ,and the children of ,israel were numbered1 and were all present1 and went against them3 and the children of ,israel pitched before them like two little flocks of kids2 but the ,syrians filled the country4 #aa3jbj3jbh ,and there came a man of ,god1 and spake unto the king of ,israel1 and said1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,because the ,syrians have said1 ,the ,,lord is ,god of the hills1 but he is not ,god of the valleys1 therefore will ,i deliver all this great multitude into thine hand1 and ye shall know that ,i am the ,,lord4 #aa3jbj3jbi ,and they pitched one over against the other seven days4 ,and so it was1 that in the seventh day the battle was joined3 and the children of ,israel slew of the ,syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day4 #aa3jbj3jcj ,but the rest fled to ,aphek1 into the city2 and there a wall fell upon twenty and seven thousand of the men that were left4 ,and ,benhadad fled1 and came into the city1 into an inner chamber4 #aa3jbj3jca ,and his servants said unto him1 ,behold now1 we have heard that the kings of the house of ,israel are merciful kings3 let us1 ,i pray thee1 put sackcloth on our loins1 and ropes upon our heads1 and go out to the king of ,israel3 peradventure he will save thy life4 #aa3jbj3jcb ,so they girded sackcloth on their loins1 and put ropes on their heads1 and came to the king of ,israel1 and said1 ,thy servant ,benhadad saith1 ,i pray thee1 let me live4 ,and he said1 ,is he yet alive8 he is my brother4 #aa3jbj3jcc ,now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from him1 and did hastily catch it3 and they said1 ,thy brother ,benhadad4 ,then he said1 ,go ye1 bring him4 ,then ,benhadad came forth to him2 and he caused him to come up into the chariot4 #aa3jbj3jcd ,and ,ben-hadad said unto him1 ,the cities1 which my father took from thy father1 ,i will restore2 and thou shalt make streets for thee in ,damascus1 as my father made in ,samaria4 ,then said ,ahab1 ,i will send thee away with this covenant4 ,so he made a covenant with him1 and sent him away4 #aa3jbj3jce ,and a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the ,,lord1 ,smite me1 ,i pray thee4 ,and the man refused to smite him4 #aa3jbj3jcf ,then said he unto him1 ,because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the ,,lord1 behold1 as soon as thou art departed from me1 a lion shall slay thee4 ,and as soon as he was departed from him1 a lion found him1 and slew him4 #aa3jbj3jcg ,then he found another man1 and said1 ,smite me1 ,i pray thee4 ,and the man smote him1 so that in smiting he wounded him4 #aa3jbj3jch ,so the prophet departed1 and waited for the king by the way1 and disguised himself with ashes upon his face4 #aa3jbj3jci ,and as the king passed by1 he cried unto the king3 and he said1 ,thy servant went out into the midst of the battle2 and1 behold1 a man turned aside1 and brought a man unto me1 and said1 ,keep this man3 if by any means he be missing1 then shall thy life be for his life1 or else thou shalt pay a talent of silver4 #aa3jbj3jdj ,and as thy servant was busy here and there1 he was gone4 ,and the king of ,israel said unto him1 ,so shall thy judgment be2 thyself hast decided it4 #aa3jbj3jda ,and he hasted1 and took the ashes away from his face2 and the king of ,israel discerned him that he was of the prophets4 #aa3jbj3jdb ,and he said unto him1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom ,i appointed to utter destruction1 therefore thy life shall go for his life1 and thy people for his people4 #aa3jbj3jdc ,and the king of ,israel went to his house heavy and displeased1 and came to ,samaria4 #aa3jba3jja ,and it came to pass after these things1 that ,naboth the ,jezreelite had a vineyard1 which was in ,jezreel1 hard by the palace of ,ahab king of ,samaria4 #aa3jba3jjb ,and ,ahab spake unto ,naboth1 saying1 ,give me thy vineyard1 that ,i may have it for a garden of herbs1 because it is near unto my house3 and ,i will give thee for it a better vineyard than it2 or1 if it seem good to thee1 ,i will give thee the worth of it in money4 #aa3jba3jjc ,and ,naboth said to ,ahab1 ,the ,,lord forbid it me1 that ,i should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee4 #aa3jba3jjd ,and ,ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which ,naboth the ,jezreelite had spoken to him3 for he had said1 ,i will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers4 ,and he laid him down upon his bed1 and turned away his face1 and would eat no bread4 #aa3jba3jje ,but ,jezebel his wife came to him1 and said unto him1 ,why is thy spirit so sad1 that thou eatest no bread8 #aa3jba3jjf ,and he said unto her1 ,because ,i spake unto ,naboth the ,jezreelite1 and said unto him1 ,give me thy vineyard for money2 or else1 if it please thee1 ,i will give thee another vineyard for it3 and he answered1 ,i will not give thee my vineyard4 #aa3jba3jjg ,and ,jezebel his wife said unto him1 ,dost thou now govern the kingdom of ,israel8 arise1 and eat bread1 and let thine heart be merry3 ,i will give thee the vineyard of ,naboth the ,jezreelite4 #aa3jba3jjh ,so she wrote letters in ,ahab's name1 and sealed them with his seal1 and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city1 dwelling with ,naboth4 #aa3jba3jji ,and she wrote in the letters1 saying1 ,proclaim a fast1 and set ,naboth on high among the people3 #aa3jba3jaj ,and set two men1 sons of ,belial1 before him1 to bear witness against him1 saying1 ,thou didst blaspheme ,god and the king4 ,and then carry him out1 and stone him1 that he may die4 #aa3jba3jaa ,and the men of his city1 even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city1 did as ,jezebel had sent unto them1 and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them4 #aa3jba3jab ,they proclaimed a fast1 and set ,naboth on high among the people4 #aa3jba3jac ,and there came in two men1 children of ,belial1 and sat before him3 and the men of ,belial witnessed against him1 even against ,naboth1 in the presence of the people1 saying1 ,naboth did blaspheme ,god and the king4 ,then they carried him forth out of the city1 and stoned him with stones1 that he died4 #aa3jba3jad ,then they sent to ,jezebel1 saying1 ,naboth is stoned1 and is dead4 #aa3jba3jae ,and it came to pass1 when ,jezebel heard that ,naboth was stoned1 and was dead1 that ,jezebel said to ,ahab1 ,arise1 take possession of the vineyard of ,naboth the ,jezreelite1 which he refused to give thee for money3 for ,naboth is not alive1 but dead4 #aa3jba3jaf ,and it came to pass1 when ,ahab heard that ,naboth was dead1 that ,ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of ,naboth the ,jezreelite1 to take possession of it4 #aa3jba3jag ,and the word of the ,,lord came to ,elijah the ,tishbite1 saying1 #aa3jba3jah ,arise1 go down to meet ,ahab king of ,israel1 which is in ,samaria3 behold1 he is in the vineyard of ,naboth1 whither he is gone down to possess it4 #aa3jba3jai ,and thou shalt speak unto him1 saying1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,hast thou killed1 and also taken possession8 ,and thou shalt speak unto him1 saying1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,in the place where dogs licked the blood of ,naboth shall dogs lick thy blood1 even thine4 #aa3jba3jbj ,and ,ahab said to ,elijah1 ,hast thou found me1 ,o mine enemy8 ,and he answered1 ,i have found thee3 because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the ,,lord4 #aa3jba3jba ,behold1 ,i will bring evil upon thee1 and will take away thy posterity1 and will cut off from ,ahab him that pisseth against the wall1 and him that is shut up and left in ,israel1 #aa3jba3jbb ,and will make thine house like the house of ,jeroboam the son of ,nebat1 and like the house of ,baasha the son of ,ahijah1 for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger1 and made ,israel to sin4 #aa3jba3jbc ,and of ,jezebel also spake the ,,lord1 saying1 ,the dogs shall eat ,jezebel by the wall of ,jezreel4 #aa3jba3jbd ,him that dieth of ,ahab in the city the dogs shall eat2 and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat4 #aa3jba3jbe ,but there was none like unto ,ahab1 which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the ,,lord1 whom ,jezebel his wife stirred up4 #aa3jba3jbf ,and he did very abominably in following idols1 according to all things as did the ,amorites1 whom the ,,lord cast out before the children of ,israel4 #aa3jba3jbg ,and it came to pass1 when ,ahab heard those words1 that he rent his clothes1 and put sackcloth upon his flesh1 and fasted1 and lay in sackcloth1 and went softly4 #aa3jba3jbh ,and the word of the ,,lord came to ,elijah the ,tishbite1 saying1 #aa3jba3jbi ,seest thou how ,ahab humbleth himself before me8 because he humbleth himself before me1 ,i will not bring the evil in his days3 but in his son's days will ,i bring the evil upon his house4 #aa3jbb3jja ,and they continued three years without war between ,syria and ,israel4 #aa3jbb3jjb ,and it came to pass in the third year1 that ,jehoshaphat the king of ,judah came down to the king of ,israel4 #aa3jbb3jjc ,and the king of ,israel said unto his servants1 ,know ye that ,ramoth in ,gilead is ours1 and we be still1 and take it not out of the hand of the king of ,syria8 #aa3jbb3jjd ,and he said unto ,jehoshaphat1 ,wilt thou go with me to battle to ,ramothgilead8 ,and ,jehoshaphat said to the king of ,israel1 ,i am as thou art1 my people as thy people1 my horses as thy horses4 #aa3jbb3jje ,and ,jehoshaphat said unto the king of ,israel1 ,enquire1 ,i pray thee1 at the word of the ,,lord to day4 #aa3jbb3jjf ,then the king of ,israel gathered the prophets together1 about four hundred men1 and said unto them1 ,shall ,i go against ,ramothgilead to battle1 or shall ,i forbear8 ,and they said1 ,go up2 for the ,,lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king4 #aa3jbb3jjg ,and ,jehoshaphat said1 ,is there not here a prophet of the ,,lord besides1 that we might enquire of him8 #aa3jbb3jjh ,and the king of ,israel said unto ,jehoshaphat1 ,there is yet one man1 ,micaiah the son of ,imlah1 by whom we may enquire of the ,,lord3 but ,i hate him2 for he doth not prophesy good concerning me1 but evil4 ,and ,jehoshaphat said1 ,let not the king say so4 #aa3jbb3jji ,then the king of ,israel called an officer1 and said1 ,hasten hither ,micaiah the son of ,imlah4 #aa3jbb3jaj ,and the king of ,israel and ,jehoshaphat the king of ,judah sat each on his throne1 having put on their robes1 in a void place in the entrance of the gate of ,samaria2 and all the prophets prophesied before them4 #aa3jbb3jaa ,and ,zedekiah the son of ,chenaanah made him horns of iron3 and he said1 ,thus saith the ,,lord1 ,with these shalt thou push the ,syrians1 until thou have consumed them4 #aa3jbb3jab ,and all the prophets prophesied so1 saying1 ,go up to ,ramothgilead1 and prosper3 for the ,,lord shall deliver it into the king's hand4 #aa3jbb3jac ,and the messenger that was gone to call ,micaiah spake unto him1 saying1 ,behold now1 the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth3 let thy word1 ,i pray thee1 be like the word of one of them1 and speak that which is good4 #aa3jbb3jad ,and ,micaiah said1 ,as the ,,lord liveth1 what the ,,lord saith unto me1 that will ,i speak4 #aa3jbb3jae ,so he came to the king4 ,and the king said unto him1 ,micaiah1 shall we go against ,ramothgilead to battle1 or shall we forbear8 ,and he answered him1 ,go1 and prosper3 for the ,,lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king4 #aa3jbb3jaf ,and the king said unto him1 ,how many times shall ,i adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the ,,lord8 #aa3jbb3jag ,and he said1 ,i saw all ,israel scattered upon the hills1 as sheep that have not a shepherd3 and the ,,lord said1 ,these have no master3 let them return every man to his house in peace4 #aa3jbb3jah ,and the king of ,israel said unto ,jehoshaphat1 ,did ,i not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me1 but evil8 #aa3jbb3jai ,and he said1 ,hear thou therefore the word of the ,,lord3 ,i saw the ,,lord sitting on his throne1 and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left4 #aa3jbb3jbj ,and the ,,lord said1 ,who shall persuade ,ahab1 that he may go up and fall at ,ramothgilead8 ,and one said on this manner1 and another said on that manner4 #aa3jbb3jba ,and there came forth a spirit1 and stood before the ,,lord1 and said1 ,i will persuade him4 #aa3jbb3jbb ,and the ,,lord said unto him1 ,wherewith8 ,and he said1 ,i will go forth1 and ,i will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets4 ,and he said1 ,thou shalt persude him1 and prevail also3 go forth1 and do so4 #aa3jbb3jbc ,now therefore1 behold1 the ,,lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets1 and the ,,lord hath spoken evil concerning thee4 #aa3jbb3jbd ,but ,zedekiah the son of ,chenaanah went near1 and smote ,micaiah on the cheek1 and said1 ,which way went the ,spirit of the ,,lord from me to speak unto thee8 #aa3jbb3jbe ,and ,micaiah said1 ,behold1 thou shalt see in that day1 when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself4 #aa3jbb3jbf ,and the king of ,israel said1 ,take ,micaiah1 and carry him back unto ,amon the governor of the city1 and to ,joash the king's son2 #aa3jbb3jbg ,and say1 ,thus saith the king1 ,put this fellow in the prison1 and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction1 until ,i come in peace4 #aa3jbb3jbh ,and ,micaiah said1 ,if thou return at all in peace1 the ,,lord hath not spoken by me4 ,and he said1 ,hearken1 ,o people1 every one of you4 #aa3jbb3jbi ,so the king of ,israel and ,jehoshaphat the king of ,judah went up to ,ramothgilead4 #aa3jbb3jcj ,and the king of ,israel said unto ,jehoshaphat1 ,i will disguise myself1 and enter into the battle2 but put thou on thy robes4 ,and the king of ,israel disguised himself1 and went into the battle4 #aa3jbb3jca ,but the king of ,syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had
