from their forefathers the custom of using a rosary of ,rudrksha berries 7sacred to iva71 and the three horizontal 7aiva7 marks1 should not discontinue that practice4 #dg4 ,nrya4na and iva should be equally regarded as manifestations of one and the same ,universal ,spirit1 since both have been declared in the ,vedas to be forms of ,brahma4 ,footnote3 ,this precept furnishes an interesting proof ,vish4nu1 iva1 ,ga4na-pati 7,ga4nea71 ,prvat1 and the ,sun1 these five deities should be honoured with worship by my followers4 ,footnote3 ,it is evident from this verse1 as from verse #dg1 that although ,vaish4navas give preferential worship to ,vish4nu1 they are really ,pantheists in the sense of honouring other deities1 as manifestations of the ,supreme ,being4 ,it may be observed that although five deities are here mentioned1 ,ga4napati and ,prvat are connected with iva1 as the ,sun is with ,vish4nu4 #he4 ,when at any place a calamity is caused by a demon or by any similar cause1 the charm called ,nrya4na should be recited or the mantra of ,hanumn should be muttered1 but not the mantra of any inferior god less esteemed4 #hf4 ,on the occurrence of eclipses of the sun and moon1
