of this little book will have already read ,little ,pillows4 ,those were given you to go to sleep upon night after night2 sweet1 soothing texts1 that little hearts might rest upon4 ,but in the morning we want something to arouse us1 and to help us to go brightly and bravely through the day4 ,so here are ,morning ,bells to waken up the little hearts1 and to remind them that we must not only rest in ,jesus1 but walk in ,him4 ,if the motto of ,little ,pillows might be ,come to ,jesus1 the motto of ,morning ,bells might be ,follow ,jesus4 ,may ,he who loves the little ones bless this tiny effort to help them to follow ,him day by day4 #a4 ,first ,day4 ,christ's ,childhood4 ,thy holy child ,jesus4--,acts iv4 #cj4 ,if ,i asked1 ,how old are you8 you would give an exact answer4 ,eight and a half2 ,just turned ten2 ,eleven next month4 ,now you have thought of ,god's holy child ,jesus as a little baby1 and as twelve years old in the temple1 but did you ever think of ,him as being exactly your own age8 that ,he was once really just as old as you are this very day8 ,he knows what it is to be eight1 and nine1 and ten years old1 or whatever you may be4 ,god's word has only told us this one thing about those years1 that ,he was a holy child4 ,what is holy8 ,it is everything that is perfectly beautiful and good and lovable1 without anything to spoil it4 ,this is just what ,he was when ,he was your age4 ,he was gentle and brave1 and considerate and unselfish1 noble and truthful1 obedient and loving1 kind and forgiving1--everything you can think of that you ever admired or loved in any one else was all found together in ,him1 and all this not only outside1 but inside1 for ,he was holy4 ,why did ,he live all these holy child-years on earth instead of staying in heaven till it was time to come and die for you8 ,one reason was1 that ,he might leave you a beautiful example1 so that you might wish to be like ,him1 and ask for the ,holy ,spirit to make you like ,him4 ,but the other was even more gracious and wonderful1 it was that we might be made the righteousness of ,god in ,him4 ,that is1 that all this goodness and holiness might be reckoned to you1 because you had not any of your own1 and that ,god might smile on you for ,his sake1 just as if you had been perfectly obedient1 and truthful1 and unselfish1 and good1 and give you ,jesus ,christ's reward1 which you never deserved at all1 but which ,he deserved for you4 ,he took your sins and gives you ,his righteousness2 ,he took your punishment and gives you ,his reward2 it is just changed over1 if you will only accept the exchange6 ,i'm glad my blessed ,saviour ,was once a child like me1 ,to show how pure and holy ,his little ones might be4 ,and if ,i try to follow ,his footsteps here below1 ,he never will forget me1 ,because ,he loves me so4 #b4 ,second ,day4 ,our ,great ,example ,even ,christ pleased not ,himself4--,rom4 xv4 #c4 ,do you really wish to follow the footsteps of the ,holy ,child ,jesus8 ,have you asked ,god to make you more like ,him8 ,are you ready to begin to-day8 ,then here is a motto for to-day1 ,even ,christ pleased not ,himself4 ,will you take it1 and try to imitate ,him8 ,you are sure to have plenty of opportunities of acting upon it1 and thus proving not only to others1 but to your dear ,saviour ,himself1 that you mean what you say1 and mean what you pray4 ,perhaps it seems a rather melancholy morning bell to you1 tolling instead of chiming6 ,but if you really wish to be like ,christ1 you will soon find that its music is as sweet as any1 and that its quiet chime will come to you again and again with a wonderful sweetness and power1 helping you over all sorts of difficulties1 and saving you from all sorts of sins and troubles4 ,you can not tell1 till you have fairly tried1 how happy a little girl can feel1 who has cheerfully given up to another1 for ,jesus' sake1 something which she would have liked for herself2 nor how happy a boy can be when of his own free will1 and by ,god's grace1 he has chosen to do what his conscience tells him would please the ,lord ,jesus instead of what would have pleased himself4 ,if you have never tried it yet1 begin to-day1 and you will find it is quite a new happiness4 ,ah1 what would have become of us if ,christ had only pleased ,himself1 and had stayed in ,his own glorious home instead of coming down to save us6 ,think of that when you are tempted to please yourself instead of pleasing ,him1 and the remembrance that even ,he pleased not ,himself because ,he so loved you1 will help you to try and please ,him1 and to please others for ,his sake4 ,if washed in ,jesus' blood1 ,then bear ,his likeness too6 ,and as you onward press1 ,ask1 ',what would ,jesus do8' ,give with a full1 free hand2 ,god freely gives to you6 ,and check each selfish thought ,with1 ',what would ,jesus do8' #c4 ,third ,day4 ,upholding4 ,hold ,thou me up1 and ,i shall be safe4--,ps4 cxix4 #aag4 ,the path is not easy4 ,there are rough stones over which we may stumble1 if we are not walking very carefully4 ,there are places which look quite smooth1 but they are more dangerous than the rough ones1 for they are slippery4 ,there are little holes hidden under flowers1 which may catch our feet and give us a bad fall4 ,there are muddy ditches1 into which we may slip and get sadly wet and dirty4 ,how are we to walk safely along such a path8 ,we want a strong1 kind hand to hold us up1 and to hold us always2 a hand that will hold ours so tightly and lovingly1 that it will be as the old ,scotchwoman said1 ,not my grip of ,christ1 but ,christ's grip of me6 ,yes1 ,christ's loving hand is able to keep you from falling2 only let your hand be restfully in the hand of ,jesus1 and then shalt thou walk in thy way safely1 and thy foot shall not stumble4 ,but do not spoil the chime of this morning's bells by ringing only half a peal6 ,do not say1 ,hold ,thou me up1 and stop there1 or add1 ,but1 all the same1 ,i shall stumble and fall6 ,finish the peal with ,god's own music1 the bright words of faith that ,he puts into your mouth1 ,hold ,thou me up1 and ,i shall be safe6 ,so you will if you do not distrust ,him1 if you will but trust ,him to do just what you ask1 and let ,him hold you up4 ,it would be hard to find a prayer in the ,bible without a promise to match it2 so ,david says1 ,uphold me1 according to ,thy word4 ,what has ,he said about it8 ,more than there is room for on this page4 ,i the ,lord thy ,god will hold thy right hand4 ,yea1 ,i will uphold thee4 ,he will not suffer thy foot to be moved4 ,when thou runnest thou shalt not stumble4 ,yea1 he shall be holden up4 ,he shall keep thy foot from being taken4 ,he will keep the feet of ,his saints4 ,seven promises in answer to your one little prayer6 ,i the ,lord am with thee1 ,be thou not afraid6 ,i will help and strengthen1 ,be thou not dismayed6 ,yea1 ,i will uphold thee ,with my own right hand2 ,thou art called and chosen ,in my sight to stand6 #d4 ,fourth ,day4 ,what can ,i do8 ,bear ye one another's burdens1 and so fulfill the law of ,christ4--,gal4 vi4 #b4 ,perhaps you never thought that any one around you had any6 ,then if you want to fulfill this law of ,christ1 the first thing will be to find out who has any burdens1 and which of them you could bear instead4 ,you will not have to watch long6 ,there are very few without any4 ,little backs can not bear great burdens1 but sometimes those who have great burdens have little ones too1 and it makes such a difference if some loving little hand will take one or two of these4 ,if your mother was carrying a great heavy parcel1 would it not help her if you took two or three little ones out of her hand and carried them for her8 ,so perhaps she has troubles that you do not even know about1 and you see she looks tired and anxious4 ,and it tires her a little more1 because a little brother or sister wants to be nursed or amused4 ,now if you put your own affairs by1 and call the little ones away1 and amuse them quietly so that mamma may not be disturbed1 this is bearing one of her burdens4 ,never mind if it is really a little burden to you too2 is it not worth it1 when it is fulfilling the law of ,christ8 ,if for a moment a burden that you have taken up does seem rather hard1 and you are tempted to drop it again1 think of what the ,lord ,jesus bore for you6 ,think how ,he took up the heaviest burden of all for you1 when ,he ,his own self bare our sins in ,his own body on the tree6 ,he did not drop that burden1 but bore it till ,he died under it4 ,think of that1 and it will be easy then to bear something for ,his sake4 ,now be on the watch all to-day for little burdens to bear for others4 ,see how many you can find out1 and pick up1 and carry away6 ,depend upon it1 you will not only make it a brighter day for others1 but for yourself too6 ,little deeds of kindness1 ,little words of love1 ,make our earth an ,eden1 ,like the heaven above4 #e4 ,fifth ,day4 ,instruments4 ,yield 4444 your members as instruments of righteousness unto ,god4--,rom4 vi4 #ac4 ,this does not sound so easy and tuneful as most of your other morning bells1 you think6 ,but listen for a few minutes and you will hear the music4 ,what are your members8 ,hands1 feet1 lips1 eyes1 ears1 and so on4 ,what are you to do with them8 ,yield them1 that is1 give them up altogether1 hand them over to ,god4 ,what for8 ,that ,he may use them as instruments of righteousness4 ,that is1 just as we should take an instrument of music1 to make music with it1 so ,he may take your hands and feet and all your members1 and use them to do right and good things with4 ,if a little one gives himself or herself to ,god1 every part of that little body is to be ,god's little servant1 a little instrument for ,him to use4 ,the little hands will no longer serve ,satan by striking or pinching2 the little feet will not kick or stamp1 nor drag and dawdle1 when they ought to run briskly on some errand2 the little lips will not pout2 the little tongue will not move to say a naughty thing4 ,all the little members will leave off serving ,satan1 and find something to do for ,god2 for if you yield them to ,god1 ,he will really take them and use them4 ,he will tell the hands to pick up what a tired mamma has dropped1 and to fetch her a footstool2 and the fingers to sew patiently at a warm petticoat for a poor child1 or to make warm cuffs for a poor old man4 ,he will tell the feet to run on errands of kindness and help4 ,he will set the lips to sing happy hymns1 which will cheer and comfort somebody1 even if you never know of it4 ,he will use the eyes for reading to some poor sick or blind woman1 or to some fretful little one in your own home4 ,you will be quite surprised to find in how many ways ,he will really use even your little members1 if you give them and your whole self to ,him4 ,it will be so nice6 ,you will never be miserable again with nothing to do6 ,take my hands1 and let them move ,at the impulse of ,thy love4 ,take my feet1 and let them be ,swift and beautiful' for ,thee4 #f4 ,sixth ,day4 ,willing and ,glad4 ,then the people rejoiced1 for that they offered willingly4--,i ,chron4 xxix4 #i ,we thought yesterday morning about giving our members up to ,god for ,him to use4 ,did you think you would like to give them up to ,him8 did you yield them to ,him8 ,if you did1 you will understand this morning's text6 ,david the ,king asked his people to help in bringing offerings for ,god's house and service4 ,he said1 ,who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the ,lord8 ,and ,god made them all willing to bring what they could4 ,and what then8 ,then the people rejoiced1 for that they offered willingly1 because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the ,lord4 ,and did eat and drink on that day before the ,lord with great gladness4 ,see what came of offering willingly to the ,lord--they rejoiced1 and everything they did1 even eating and drinking1 was with great gladness4 ,never is any one so happy as those who offer their own selves willingly to the ,lord4 ,he gives them a thousandfold return for the worthless little self and weak little members which they have offered to ,him4 ,he gives them peace1 and gladness1 and blessing1 beyond what they ever expected to have4 ,but this was not all2 it was not only the people who had such a glad day1 but ,david the king also rejoiced with great joy4 ,those who loved their king1 and recollected how much sorrow he had gone through1 and how many battles he had fought for them1 must have been glad indeed to see ,him rejoicing because they had offered willingly4 ,and ,i think our ,king1 your ,king ,jesus1 rejoices over us when ,he has made us able 7ver4 #ad7 to offer ourselves willingly to ,him4 ,is not this best of all8 ,jesus1 who suffered for us1 and who fought the great battle of our salvation for us1 ,he1 our own beloved ,king1 will rejoice over thee with joy2 ,he will rest in ,his love2 ,he will joy over thee with singing4 ,in full and glad surrender ,i give myself to ,thee1 ,thine utterly1 and only1 and evermore to be6 ,o ,son of ,god1 who lovest me1 ,i will be ,thine alone2 ,and all ,i have1 and all ,i am1 shall henceforth be ,thine own4 #g4 ,seventh ,day4 ,faithfulness4 ,faithful over a few things4--,matt4 xxv4 #ba1 #bc4 ,the servant who had only two talents to trade with1 but traded faithfully with them1 had just the same glorious words spoken to him as the servant who had five talents3 ,well done1 good and faithful servant3 thou hast been faithful over a few things 444 enter thou into the joy of thy lord4 ,think what it would be to hear the ,lord ,jesus saying that to you1 really to you6 ,oh how sweet6 how blessed6 how you would listen to that gracious voice saying those wonderfully gracious words to you6 ,but could ,he say them to you8 ,are you faithful over a few things8 ,he has given every one1 even the youngest1 a few things to be faithful over1 and so ,he has to you4 ,your few things may be very few1 and very small things1 but ,he expects you to be faithful over them4 ,what is being faithful over them8 ,it means doing the very best you can with them2 doing as much for ,jesus as you can with your money1 even if you have very little2 doing as much for ,him as you can with your time2 doing whatever duties ,he gives you as well as ever you can1--your lessons1 your work1 the little things that you are bidden or asked to do every day1 the little things that you have promised or undertaken to do for others4 ,it means doing all these just the same whether others see you or know about it or not4 ,you sigh over all this2 you recollect many things in which you have not been quite faithful2 you know you do not deserve for ,him to call you good and faithful servant4 ,but come at once to your gracious ,lord1 and ask ,him to forgive all the unfaithfulness1 and to make you faithful to-day4 ,and then1 even if it is only a matter of a ,french verb or a ,latin noun1 you will find it a help to recollect1 ,faithful over a few things6 ,only1 ,o ,lord1 in ,thy dear love ,fit us for perfect rest above2 ,and help us1 this and every day1 ,to live more nearly as we pray4 #h4 ,eighth ,day4 ,on mine ,account4 ,put that on mine account4--,philem4 #ah4 ,when ,st4 ,paul asked ,philemon1 in a most beautiful letter1 to take back ,onesimus1 who had run away from him1 he said1 ,if he hath wronged thee1 or oweth thee ought1 put that on my account4 ,onesimus had been a bad servant to ,philemon2 and being willing to come back and do better1 would not pay for what he had wronged him in before1 and would not pay his old debts4 ,and he evidently had nothing himself to pay them with4 ,but ,st4 ,paul offered to pay all1 so that ,onesimus might be received1 not now as a servant1 but as a brother beloved4 ,this is an exquisite picture of what the ,lord ,jesus ,christ does4 ,he not only intercedes for us with ,him from whom we have departed1 and against whom we have sinned2 but1 knowing to the full how much we have wronged ,god1 and how much we owe ,him1 ,he says1 ,put that on mine account4 ,and ,god has put it all on ,his account and the account has been paid1 paid in blood4 ,when the ,lord laid on ,him the iniquity of us all1 ,jesus saw and knew all your sins2 and ,he said1 ,put that on mine account4 ,oh1 what wonderful kindness and love of ,god our ,saviour6 ,let the remembrance of it be like a silver bell1 ringing softly and clearly whenever you are going to do1 or letting yourself feel or think1 something that is not right4 ,put that on mine account6 ,yes1 that sin that you were on the very edge of committing6 that angry word1 and the angry feeling that makes you want to say it2 that untrue word1 and the cowardliness which makes you afraid to speak the exact truth2 that proud look and the naughty pride of heart that made it come into your eyes2 ,jesus stands by and says1 patiently and lovingly1 ,put that on mine account6 ,can you bear that8 does it not make you wish1 ten times more than ever1 to be kept from sinning against such a ,saviour8 ,jesus1 tender ,saviour1 ,hast ,thou died for me8 ,make me very thankful ,in my heart to ,thee2 ,when the sad1 sad story ,of ,thy grief ,i read1 ,make me very sorry ,for my sins indeed4 #i4 ,ninth ,day4 ,white ,garments4 ,let thy garments be always white4--,eccles4 ix4 #h4 ,always8 ,oh1 how can that be8 ,they are soiled again directly after they have been washed clean6 ,yet ,god says1 ,let them be always white2 and ,he would not tell you to do what was impossible4 ,then how are you to help soiling them8 ,only in one way4 ,last night's little pillow told you how ,jesus washes us whiter than snow in ,his own precious blood1 that cleanseth from all sin4 ,but will ,he only cleanse ,his little one just for the moment8 is that all ,he is able and willing to do for you8 ,no2 if you will only keep on trusting to that precious blood1 and not turn away from it1 ,he says that it cleanseth1 that is1 goes on cleansing4 ,you could not keep your garments white for five minutes2 careless thoughts would come like dust upon them1 and wrong words would make great dark stains and before long some naughty deed would be like a sad fall in the mud1 and you would feel sad and ashamed before the kind ,saviour who still stands ready to cleanse you again4 ,but why should all this happen over and over again1 till anybody but our own loving1 long-suffering ,saviour would be tired of us1 and give up doing any more for us8 ,why should it be1 when ,his precious blood is meant to go on cleansing1 so that our garments may be always white8 ,perhaps you never thought of this2 ask ,him now this morning not only to wash you in the fountain of ,his precious blood1 but to keep you in it1 to go on cleansing you all day long4 ,trust ,him to do this1 and see if it is not the happiest day you ever spent6 ,and ,he can do all this for me1 ,because in sorrow1 on the tree1 ,he once for sinners hung2 ,and1 having washed their sin away1 ,he now rejoices1 day by day1 ,to cleanse ,his little one4 #aj4 ,tenth ,day4 ,made ,beautiful4 ,let the beauty of the ,lord our ,god be upon us4--,ps4 xc4 #ag4 ,how great is ,his beauty6 said ,zechariah4 ,how can ,his beauty be upon us8 ,in two ways2 try to understand them1 and then ask that in both ways the beauty of the ,lord our ,god may be upon you4 ,one way is by ,his covering you with the robe of ,jesus ,christ's righteousness1 looking upon you not as you are in yourself1 all sinful and unholy1 but as if all the ,saviour's beautiful and holy life were yours1 reckoning it to you for ,his sake4 ,in this way ,he can call us perfect through my comeliness which ,i had put upon thee4 ,the other way is by giving you the beauty of holiness1 for that is ,his own beauty2 and though we never can be quite like ,him till we see ,him as ,he is1 ,he can begin to make us like ,him even now4 ,look at a poor little colorless drop of water1 hanging weakly on a blade of grass4 ,it is not beautiful at all2 why should you stop to look at it8 ,stay till the sun has risen1 and now look4 ,it is sparkling like a diamond2 and if you look at it from another side1 it will be glowing like a ruby1 and presently gleaming like an emerald4 ,the poor little drop has become one of the brightest and loveliest things you ever saw4 ,but is it its own brightness and beauty8 ,no2 if it slipped down to the ground out of the sunshine1 it would be only a poor little dirty drop of water4 ,so1 if the ,sun of ,righteousness1 the glorious and lovely ,saviour1 shines upon you1 a little ray of ,his own brightness and beauty will be seen upon you4 ,sometimes we can see by the happy light on a face that the ,sun is shining there2 but if the ,sun is really shining1 there are sure to be some of the beautiful rays of holiness1 love1 joy1 peace1 gentleness1 goodness1 faith1 meekness1 making the life even of a little child very lovely4 ,jesus1 ,lord1 ,i come to ,thee1 ,thou hast said ,i may2 ,tell me what my life should be1 ,take my sins away4 ,jesus1 ,lord1 ,i learn of ,thee1 ,in ,thy word divine2 ,every promise there ,i see1 ,may ,i call it mine6 #aa4 ,eleventh ,day4 ,pleasant ,gifts4 ,who giveth us richly all things to enjoy4--,i ,tim4 vi4 #ag4 ,think a little this morning of ,god's great kindness to you4 ,how very good ,he is to you6 ,i know one of ,his dear children who looks up many1 many times a day1 and says1 ,good ,lord ,jesus6 or ,kind ,lord ,jesus6 ,she does not set herself to say it1 but it seems as if she could not help saying it1 just because ,he is so good and kind4 ,and then it seems only natural to look up again and say1 ,dear ,lord ,jesus6 ,how can anybody go on all day long1 and never see how good ,he is1 and never look up and bless ,him8 ,most especially on bright pleasant days1 when ,he giveth us more even than usual to enjoy6 ,he giveth4 ,not one single pleasant thing1 not one single bit of enjoyment comes to us but what ,he giveth4 ,we can not get it1 we do not earn it1 we do not deserve it2 but ,he giveth lovingly1 and kindly1 and freely4 ,suppose ,he stopped giving1 what would become of us8 ,richly4 ,so richly1 that if you tried to write down half ,his gifts to you1 your hand would be tired long before you had done4 ,you might easily make a list of the presents given you on your birthday1 but you could not make a list of what ,god gives you every day of your life4 ,all things4 ,all the things you really need1 and a great many more besides4 ,all the things that will do you good1 a great many more than you would ever have thought of4 ,all the things that ,he can fill your little hands with1 and trust you to carry without stumbling and falling4 ,all things1 everything that you have at all6 ,to enjoy4 ,now how kind this is6 not only to do us good1 but to enjoy4 ,so you see ,he means you to be happy with what ,he gives you1 to smile and laugh and be glad1 not to be dismal and melancholy4 ,if you do not enjoy what ,he giveth1 that is your own fault1 for ,he meant you to enjoy it4 ,look up to ,him with a bright smile1 and thank ,him for having given you richly all things to enjoy6 ,my joys to ,thee ,i bring1 ,the joys ,thy love hath given1 ,that each may be a wing ,to lift me nearer heaven4 ,i bring them1 ,saviour1 all to ,thee1 ,for ,thou hast purchased all for me4 #ab4 ,twelfth ,day4 ,much more than this4 ,the ,lord is able to give thee much more than this4--#b ,chron4 xxv4 #i4 ,amaziah1 king of ,judah1 was going to war against the ,edomites4 ,he thought he would make sure of victory by hiring a hundred thousand soldiers from the ,king of ,israel1 and he paid them beforehand a hundred talents1 which was about #cd1bah4aes4 of our money4 ,but a man of ,god warned him not to let the army of ,israel go with him1 for ,israel had forsaken the ,lord1 and so ,he was not with them4 ,it seemed a great pity to waste all that money1 and so ,amaziah said1 ,but what shall we do for the hundred talents which ,i have given to the army of ,israel8 ,and the man of ,god answered1 ,the ,lord is able to give thee much more than this4 ,so ,amaziah simply obeyed1 and sent the soldiers away1 and trusted ,god to help him to do without them4 ,was it any wonder that he gained a great victory over the ,edomites8 ,does not this teach us that we should simply do the right thing1 and trust ,god at any cost8 ,when you do this1 you will find that1 in hundreds of ways which you never thought of1 the ,lord is able to give thee much more4 ,the trial comes in many different ways4 ,one may be tempted to hurry over prayer and ,bible1 because there is something else that she very much wants to get done before breakfast1 and she is afraid of not having time enough4 ,another shuts up her little purse when a call comes to give something for ,god's work1 because she is afraid she will not have enough left for another purpose4 ,another is tempted to look at a key1 or to glance over another's shoulder at a lesson1 because without it he would not get the marks he is trying for4 ,another is tempted not to tell the exact truth1 or to conceal something which he ought to tell1 because he would lose something by it4 ,oh1 resist the devil1 and do what you know is right1 and trust ,god for all the rest6 ,for the ,lord is able to give thee much more than this1 whatever your this may be4 ,and ,his smile and ,his blessing will always be more than this1 more than anything else6 ,be brave to do the right1 ,and scorn to be untrue2 ,when fear would whisper 'yield6' ,ask1 ',what would ,jesus do8' #ac4 ,thirteenth ,day4 ,the ,doings of the ,king4 ,whatsoever the king did pleased all the people4--#b ,sam4 iii4 #cf4 ,david had been giving a proof of his love for one who had long been his enemy1 but whom he had received into friendship2 and he had been giving a proof of his tender-heartedness and sympathy with the people1 by weeping with them at the grave of ,abner4 ,and all the people took notice of it1 and it pleased them3 as whatsoever the king did pleased all the people4 ,this was because they loved their king4 ,they watched him1 not as the wicked ,pharisees watched the ,lord ,jesus that they might find something against ,him2 but with the watching of admiration and love1 taking notice of the kind and gracious things he did and said4 ,do you thus take notice of what your ,king does8 ,does it please you to hear and read of what ,he has done and what ,he is doing8 ,it must be so if ,he really is your ,king4 ,but the whatsoever is a little harder2 and yet1 if it is once really learnt1 it makes everything easy4 ,for if we learn to be pleased with whatsoever our ,king ,jesus does1 nothing can come wrong to us4 ,suppose something comes to-day which is not quite what you would have liked2 heavy rain1 for instance1 when you wanted to go out1--recollect that your ,king ,jesus has done it1 and that will hush the little murmur1 and make you quite content4 ,ask ,him this morning to make you so loving and loyal to ,him1 that whatsoever ,he does1 all day long1 may please you1 because it has pleased ,him to do it4 ,i think ,he loves us so much1 that ,he always gives us as much happiness as ,he can possibly trust us with1 and does what is pleasantest for ,his dear children whenever ,he sees it will not hurt them2 so1 when ,he does something which at first does not seem so pleasant1 we may still trust our beloved ,king1 and learn by ,his grace to be pleased with whatsoever ,he does4 ,i hear a sweet voice ringing clear1 ',all is well6' ,it is my ,father's voice ,i hear1 ,all is well6 ,where'er ,i walk that voice is heard1 ,it is my ,god1 my ,father's word-- ',fear not1 but trust2 ,i am the ,lord1 ,all is well6' #ad4 ,fourteenth ,day4 ,the ,new ,heart4 ,a new heart also will ,i give you4--,ezek4 xxxvi4 #bf4 ,why does ,god promise this8 ,because our old hearts are so evil that they can not be made any better2 and so nothing will do any good but giving us a quite new heart4 ,because we can not make a new heart for ourselves2 the more we try1 the more we shall find we can not do it2 so ,god1 in ,his great pity and kindness1 says ,he will give it us4 ,because unless we have a new heart we can not enter the kingdom of ,god1 we can not even see it6 ,without this gift we must be left outside in the terrible darkness when the door is shut4 ,what is the difference8 ,the old heart likes to be naughty in some way or other2 either it likes to be idle1 or it likes to let out sharp words1 or to go on being sulky or fretful instead of clearing up and saying1 ,i am sorry6 ,the new heart wants to be good2 and is grieved when a temptation comes1 and does not wish to yield to it2 and would like to be always pleasing the ,saviour4 ,the old heart is afraid of ,god1 and does not love ,him1 and would much rather ,he were not always seeing us4 ,and it does not care to hear about ,jesus1 but would rather be just let alone4 ,the new heart loves ,god and trusts what ,he says1 and likes to know that ,he is always watching it4 ,and it is glad to hear about ,jesus1 and wants to come closer to ,him4 ,the old heart is a little slave of ,satan1 taking his orders1 and doing what he wishes4 ,the new heart is a happy little servant of ,christ1 listening to ,his orders1 and doing what ,he wishes4 ,oh how happy and blessed to have this new heart6 ,all ,god's own children receive it1 for ,he has said1 ,i will give them one heart2 that is1 all the same new heart4 ,do you not want to have it too8 ,then ask1 and you shall receive2 for ,he hath said1 ,a new heart also will ,i give you6 ,oh for a heart to praise my ,god1 ,a heart from sin set free6 ,a heart that always feels ,thy blood1 ,so freely shed for me4 ,a heart resigned1 submissive1 meek1 ,my dear ,redeemer's throne2 ,where only ,christ is heard to speak1 ,where ,jesus reigns alone4 #ae4 ,fifteenth ,day4 ,the ,gift of the ,holy ,spirit4 ,i will put my ,spirit within you4--,ezek4 xxxvi4 #bg4 ,many years ago a good clergyman wrote a tiny prayer1 so short that no one could help remembering it if they once heard it4 ,god seemed to set that little prayer upon wheels1 so that it might run everywhere4 ,it was printed on large cards and hung up1 and it was printed on small ones and kept in ,bibles and pocket-books4 ,it was taught to classes and schools and whole congregations1 and now thousands upon thousands pray it constantly4 ,it is a prayer which must be heard1 because it asks for what ,god has promised to give2 and it asks for this through ,him whom the ,father heareth always4 ,it is this3 ,o ,god1 give me ,thy ,holy ,spirit1 for ,jesus ,christ's sake4 ,amen4 ,will you not pray it too8 ,begin this morning1 and go on1 not just saying it1 but praying it1 till you get a full answer4 ,for you are quite sure to get it2 here is ,god's own promise1 ,i will put my ,spirit within you2 and ,he has promised it over and over again in other places4 ,perhaps you will not know at first when the answer comes4 ,can you see the dew fall8 ,no one ever saw a single drop come down1 and yet as soon as the sun rises1 you see that it has come1 and is sparkling all over the fields4 ,it came long before you saw it1 falling sweetly and silently in the twilight and in the dark4 ,so do not fancy ,god is not hearing you because you have not felt anything very sudden and wonderful4 ,he is hearing and answering all the time4 ,you would not go on asking unless the dew of ,his ,spirit were already falling upon your heart1 and teaching you to pray4 ,the more ,he gives you of ,his blessed ,spirit1 the more you will ask for2 and the more you ask1 the more ,he will give4 ,thou gift of ,jesus1 now descend1 ,and be my ,comforter and ,friend2 ,o ,holy ,spirit1 fill my heart1 ,that ,i from ,christ may ne'er depart6 ,show me my soul all xiv4 #ad4 ,how glad the children of ,israel must have been when ,moses said these words to them on the shores of the ,red ,sea6 ,for when they lifted up their eyes1 behold1 the ,egyptians marched after them2 and they were sore afraid4 ,the ,egyptians had been cruel masters to them2 and they had horses and chariots to pursue them with2 and there was the sea close before them1 and no boats6 ,perhaps some of the ,israelites thought it was no use trying to escape1 they would only be overtaken and conquered and be worse off than before4 ,and so1 left to themselves1 they would have been2 but ,god fought for them in a way they never thought of4 ,for the ,lord saved ,israel that day out of the hand of the ,egyptians1 and ,israel saw the ,egyptians dead upon the sea-shore4 ,what about your ,egyptians8--the angry tempers or sulky looks1 the impatient words1 the vain and foolish thoughts1 the besetting sins that master you so often4 ,have you tried so often to fight against them1 and failed1 that it seems almost no use1 and you do not see how to conquer them or to escape them8 ,are you very tired of fighting1 and sore afraid of being always overcome just the same as ever8 ,now hear ,god's true1 strong promise to you4 ,the ,lord shall fight for you6 ,will ,he really8 ,yes1 really1 and ,he will conquer for you too1 if you will only believe ,his ,word and trust the battle to ,him1 and let ,him fight for you4 ,how8 ,first1 watch6 and then the very instant you see the enemy coming1 look up and say1 ,come1 ,lord1 and fight for me2 and keep on looking up and expecting ,him to fight for you4 ,and you will find that ,he does fight for you and gives you the victory2 and you too will be saved that day1 and will see the ,egyptians dead upon the sea-shore4 ,try ,him1 and trust ,him2 and you1 even you1 will be more than conqueror through ,him that loved you4 ,so1 when you meet with trials1 ,and know not what to do2 ,just cast the care on ,jesus1 ,and ,he will fight for you4 ,gird on the heavenly armor ,of faith1 and hope1 and love2 ,and when the conflict's ended1 ,you'll reign with ,him above4 #ag4 ,seventeenth ,day4 ,the ,master's ,voice4 ,i will watch to see what ,he he said1 ,speak1 ,lord1 for ,thy servant heareth4 ,has the ,lord ,jesus said anything like this for us8 ,he says1 ,i have yet many things to say unto you4 ,what things8 ,they will be strong1 helpful1 life-giving words1 for ,he says1 ,the words that ,i speak unto you1 they are spirit and they are life4 ,they will be very loving words1 for ,he says1 ,i will speak comfortably to her 7margin1 ,i will speak to her heart74 ,and they will be very kind and tender words1 and spoken just at the right moment1 for ,he says that ,he knows how to speak a word in season to him that is weary4 ,will ,he really speak to me8 says the little heart4 ,yes1 really1 if you will only watch to see what ,he will say to you4 ,for it will be a still1 small voice1 and you will not hear it at all if you do not listen for it4 ,how will ,he speak to me8 ,if ,i had something very nice to tell you1 and instead of saying it out loud1 ,i wrote it down on a piece of paper1 and gave it you to look at1 would not that be exactly the same as if ,i had told it you with my lips8 ,and you would take the paper eagerly to see what it was that ,i had to say to you4 ,so to-day1 when you read your ,bible1 either alone or at your ,bible-lesson1 watch to see what ,jesus will say to you in it4 ,you will never really watch in vain4 ,you will see some word that seems to come home to you1 and that you never noticed so much before4 ,oh1 listen lovingly to it1 for that is what ,he says to you6 ,or if you are really watching and wishing for a word from ,him1 some sweet text will come into your mind1 and you wonder what made you think of it6 ,that is the voice of ,jesus speaking to your heart4 ,listen to it1 and treasure it up1 and follow it2 and then watch to see what else ,he will say to you4 ,say to ,him1 ,master1 say on6 ,master1 speak6 and make me ready1 ,when ,thy voice is truly heard1 ,with obedience glad and steady1 ,still to follow every word4 ,i am listening1 ,lord1 for ,thee2 ,master1 speak1 oh1 speak to me6 #ah4 ,eighteenth ,day ,who will take care of me8 ,he careth for you4--,i ,pet4 v4 #g4 ,it is so pleasant to be cared for2 to have kind relations and friends who show that they love you by their care of you1 and their care for you4 ,what would you do if no one cared for you1 like the poor little children in ,london who are turned out to do for themselves before they are as old as you are8 ,what would you do if there was no one to get anything for you to eat1 or to see to your clothes1 or to keep a home for you to live in8 ,no one to take any notice if you hurt yourself ever so badly1 or if you were ever so ill8 ,you would feel then what a difference being cared for makes to your life4 ,but all the earthly care for you comes because ,he careth for you4 ,he planned and arranged everything1 without your having anything to do with it1 so that you shall be cared for4 ,and ,he did not arrange it once for all1 and then leave things to go on as might happen4 ,no6 ,every day1 every moment1 ,he careth1 goes on caring1 for you4 ,not only thinking of you and watching you1 but working for you2 making things come right1 so that everything should be just the best that could happen to you4 ,not managing the great things1 and leaving the little things to arrange themselves2 but giving loving care to the least1 the very least things that concern you4 ,even in some tiny little trouble which no one else seems to care about1 ,he careth2 or when every one else is too much taken up with other things to attend to you1 ,he careth for you4 ,you can never get beyond ,god's care1 for it always reaches you2 you can never be outside of it1 for it is always enfolding you4 ',who will take care of me8' darling1 you say1 ,lovingly1 tenderly watched as you are8 ,listen6 ,i give you the answer to-day1 ,one who is never forgetful or far4 ,he will take care of you6 ,all through the year ,crowning each day with ,his kindness and love1 ,sending you blessings and shielding from fear1 eagle1 how safe they are6 ,who would dare touch them8 ,if a bold climber put his hand into the nest then1 those powerful wings would beat him in a minute from his hold1 and he would fall down the rocks and be dashed to pieces4 ,so safe shall you be under ,his wings1 nothing shall by any means hurt you there4 ,when the wild snow-storms rage round the eyrie1 and the mountain cold is felt1 that is death to an unprotected sleeper1 how warm the little eaglets are kept6 ,not an arrow of the keen blast reaches them1 poor little featherless things1 not a snowflake touches them4 ,so warm shall you be kept under ,his wings1 when any cold and dark day of trouble comes1 or even any sudden little blast of unkindness or loneliness4 ,under ,his wings shall thou trust6 ,not shall thou see6 ,if one of the eaglets wanted to see for itself what was going on1 and thought it could take care of itself for a little while1 and hopped from under the shadow of the wings1 it would be neither safe nor warm4 ,the sharp wind would chill it1 and the cruel hand might seize it then4 ,so you are to trust1 rest quietly and peacefully1 under ,his wings2 stay there1 not be peeping out and wondering whether ,god ,when you see some one doing with very great delight some beautiful and pleasant piece of work1 have you not thought1 ,i should like to be able to do that6 and perhaps you have said1 ,please1 teach me how to do it4 ,can you think of anything pleasanter to do than what the very angels are full of delight in doing8 ,can you think of anything more beautiful to do than what is done in the pleasant land1 the beautiful home above8 ,can you fancy anything more interesting to do than what the dwellers there will never get tired of doing for thousands of millions of years8 ,would you not like to be taught to do it too8--to begin the pleasant and beautiful and most interesting work now1 instead of waiting till you are grown up1 and then perhaps never learning it at all1 because it was put off now8 ,then pray this little prayer this morning with all your heart1 ,teach me to do ,thy will4 ,for it is ,his will that is the happiest work above1 and the very happiest thing to do here below4 ,what is ,his will8 ,the ,prayer-,book version of this ,psalm tells you very simply and sweetly4 ,it says1 ,teach me to do the thing that pleaseth ,thee4 ,so doing ,god's will is just doing the is1 and make you long to do it always1 and teach you to do it4 ,so that even on earth you may begin to do what the angels are doing in heaven6 ,it is but very little ,for ,him that ,i can do1 ,then let me seek to serve ,him1 ,my earthly journey through2 ,and1 without sigh or murmur1 ,to do ,his holy will2 ,and in my daily duties ,his wise commands fulfill4 #bb4 ,twenty-second ,day4 ,working for ,jesus4 ,ye have done it unto me4 ,ye did it not to me4--,matt4 xxv41 xl41 and xlv4 ,our ,lord ,jesus ,christ has given us opportunities of showing whether we love ,him or not4 ,he tells us that what we try to do for any one who is poor1 or hungry1 or sick1 or a lonely stranger1 is just the same as doing it to ,him4 ,and when the ,king says1 ,come1 ye blessed1 ,he will remember these little things1 and will say1 ,ye have done it unto me4 ,but ,he tells us that if we do nothing for them1 it is just the same as if ,he were standing there and we would do nothing for ,him4 ,and ,he will say1 ,ye did it not to me4 ,one of these two words will be spoken to you in the great day when you see the ,king on the throne of ,his glory4 ,which shall it be8 ,what are you doing for ,jesus8 ,are you doing anything at all for ,him8 ,perhaps you say1 ,i have no opportunity4 ,did you ever try to find one8 ,did you ever ask ,him to give you opportunities of doing something for ,him8 ,or is it only that you have never yet cared or tried to do anything for ,him8 ,be honest about it4 ,he knows4 ,and ,he will forgive4 ,but now1 what is to be done8 ,begin by asking ,him to show you4 ,and then keep a bright1 sharp look-out1 and see if you can not find an opportunity very soon 7and perhaps many7 of doing something kind for ,his sake to some poor or sick or lonely one4 ,set to work to think what you could do6 ,it seems to me so very kind of the ,lord ,jesus to have told us this4 ,for ,he knew that those who really love ,him would want to do something for ,him1 and what could we do for the ,king of glory in ,his glorious heaven8 ,so it was wonderfully thoughtful of ,him to give us ,his poor people to care for1 and to say1 if we have only been kind to a sick old woman or hungry little child1 ,ye have done it unto me6 ,i love my precious ,saviour ,because ,he died for me2 ,and if ,i did not serve ,him1 ,how sinful ,i should be6 ,god help me to be useful ,in all ,i do or say6 ,i mean to work for ,jesus1 ,the ,bible says ,i may6 #bc4 ,twenty-third ,day4 ,standard-,bearers4 ,thou hast given a banner to them that fear ,thee4--,ps4 lx4 #d4 ,then what is your banner1 and what are you doing with it8 ,for if you are among them that fear ,god1 ,he has given you a banner that it may be displayed4 ,is yours furled up and put away in a corner1 so that nobody sees it or knows of it8 ,or are you trying to be a brave little standard-bearer of ,jesus ,christ1 carrying ,his flag1 so that the sweet breezes of ,his ,spirit may lift its bright folds1 and show its golden motto8 ,that motto1 ,i think1 is ,love4 ,for we are told that ,his banner over us is love4 ,are you displaying it1 showing your love to ,him by your love to others8 showing the power of ,his love over you by your sweet1 happy temper1 and by trying to please ,him always8 ,carrying a banner means something4 ,first1 it means that you belong to or have to do with those whose banner you carry1 and that you are not ashamed of them4 ,at great ,sunday-school festivals we know to which school a boy belongs by the flag that he carries4 ,you would like to carry the flag of ,england or the ,queen's royal flag1 because you are ,english and loyal4 ,so let us carry the banner of ,jesus ,christ because we are loyal to ,him1 and are not ashamed to own ,him as our ,king4 ,secondly1 it means that we are ready to fight1 and ready to encourage others to fight under the same banner4 ,when you are tempted to do something wrong remember whose banner you carry1 and do not disgrace it4 ,if one does right1 it makes it easier for the other to do right too4 ,thirdly1 it means rejoicing4 ,you know how flags are hung out on grand days1 and carried in triumphal processions4 ,the little hand that carries ,christ's banner through ,his war1 will carry it also in ,his triumph2 the little hand that tries to unfurl it bravely now1 will wave it when ,his glorious reign begins and ,his blessed kingdom is come4 ,then1 in the name of our ,god we will set up our banners now6 ,the ,master hath called us1 the children who fear ,him1 ,who march 'neath ,christ's banner1 ,his own little band2 ,we love ,him1 and seek ,him2 we long to be near banner against sin1 the world1 and the devil1 and to continue ,christ's faithful soldier and servant unto your life's end4 ,you can never undo that1 even if you are a deserter1 and found in the enemy's ranks4 ,the ,captain of our salvation will not undo it1 for ,he is ready to receive you1 if you will but come and enlist now4 ,now1 this very morning1 come and enlist6 ,this very morning ask ,him to receive you into ,his noble army1 and to give you first the shield of ,his salvation1 and then the whole armor of ,god1 and to teach your hands to war and your fingers to fight1 and to give you victories every day even now1 and to let you share ,his grand triumphs hereafter4 ,perhaps you know that you have enlisted already1 you know and love your ,captain1 and ,he is enabling you1 even if very feebly1 yet really1 to fight the good fight of faith8 ,how came you to enlist8 ,was it any credit to you8 ,oh no6 it was all ,his doing4 ,it was ,he who chose you to be a soldier1 not you who chose ,him to be a ,captain4 ,and then ,he sent not some dreadful cannon roar1 but the sweet bugle-call of ,his love to win you to join ,his ranks4 ,and now ,he fights not only with you1 but for you4 of our salvation1 is ,he who hath chosen us to be ,his soldiers and now1 does ,he only tell us that we may do our duty1--serve1 obey1 and fight8 ,no2 ,he tells us something more1 gives us a hope and an aim so bright and pleasant1 that it is like sunshine upon everything4 ,he says1 we may please ,him4 ,only one who knows what it is to mourn for having grieved the dear ,saviour1 can quite understand what a happy word this is6 ,that we1 who have been cold1 and careless1 and sinful1 grieving ,his love over and over again1 should be told after all that we may please ,him6 ,oh1 if we love ,him1 our hearts will just leap at the hope of it6 ,perhaps we thought this could not be till we reached heaven2 but you see ,his own word says1 we may please ,him now1 while we are soldiers in the very midst of the fighting4 ,st4 ,paul tells us one thing in which you may please ,him3 ,children1 obey your parents in all things1 for this is well-pleasing unto the ,lord4 ,but he prays too that the which it is impossible to please ,him1 and then to show you how you ought to walk and to please ,god1 and so to help you to do those things that are pleasing in ,his sight2 that all your ways1 even you8 ,ah1 it is so easy to know if we are really willing to know1 and willing to obey when we do know6 ,he has spoken so plainly to us in ,his word6 ,in that ,he tells us1 tells even little children1 exactly what to do4 ,it is most wonderful how ,he has said everything there for us1 told us everything we ought to do4 ,when you read a chapter or hear one read1 listen and watch to see what ,he saith unto you in it4 ,there is another way in which ,he tells us what to do4 ,do you not hear a little voice inside that always tells you to do the right thing1 and not to do the wrong thing8 ,that is conscience and ,he speaks to you by it4 ,another way is by those whom ,he has set over you4 ,he has told you once for all to obey your parents1 and to obey them that have the rule over you4 ,so1 when they tell you to do something1 it is the ,lord ,jesus ,himself that you have to obey in obeying them4 ,now whatsoever ,he saith unto you1 do it6 ,yes1 whatsoever1 dear little one1 whether easy or look up to ,him for grace to obey1 and ,he will give it4 ,whatsoever ,he saith unto you1 do it4 ,do not just think about doing it1 or talk about doing it1 but do it6 ,do it6 ,do the exact thing ,he would have you do1 not something a little bit different1 or something which you think will be very nearly the same1 but do it4 ,and do it at once4 ,it is so true1 that the very first moment is the easiest for obedience4 ,every minute that you put off doing the right thing makes it harder4 ,do not let your ,king have to speak twice to you4 ,whatsoever ,he saith unto you1 do it cheerfully1 which enabled him to endure everything for eighty years6 ,try for yourself to-day what was such great and long help to ,moses4 ,ask ,god1 before you go down-stairs1 for faith1 the eye of the soul1 so that you may walk all day long as seeing ,him who is invisible4 ,when you are tempted to indulge in something wrong1--idleness or carelessness1 or selfishness1--this will help you to give it up at once1 and forsake it2 for how can you give way to it when your eye meets ,his8 ,when something makes you afraid1 this will make you brave and peaceful2 for how can you fear anything when your ,god is so near8 ,when lessons1 or work1 or even having to be quiet with nothing to do1 seem very tiresome1 and you are tempted to be impatient1 and perhaps cross1 this will help you to endure and not only so1 but to feel patient2 for how can you be impatient when you are looking up to ,him1 and ,he is looking down on you all the time6 ,god will not leave me all alone1 ,he never will forsake ,his own2 ,when not another friend ,i see1 ,the ,lord is looking down on me4 #bi4 ,twenty-,ninth ,day4 ,no ,weights4 ,let us lay aside every weight4--,heb4 xii4 #a4 ,if you were going to run a race1 you would first put down all the parcels you might have been carrying4 ,and if you had a heavy little parcel in your pocket1 you would take that out1 and lay it down too1 because it would hinder you in running4 ,you would know better than to say1 ,i will put down the parcels which ,i have in my hands1 but nobody can see the one in my pocket1 so that one won't matter6 ,you would lay aside every weight4 ,you have a race to run to-day1 a little piece of the great race that is set before you4 ,god has set a splendid prize before you1 the prize of the high calling of ,god in ,christ ,jesus1 a crown that is incorruptible4 ,now what are you going to do about the weights1 the things that hinder you from running this race8 ,you know some things do seem to hinder you2 will you keep them or lay them aside8 ,will you only lay aside something that every one can see is hindering you1 so that you will get a little credit for putting it down1 and keep something that your own little conscience knows is a real hindrance1 though no one else knows anything at all about it8 ,oh1 take ,st4 ,paul's wise and holy advice1 and make up your mind to lay aside every weight4 ,different persons have different weights2 we must find out what ours are1 and give them up4 ,one finds that if she does not get up directly she is called1 the time slips by1 and there is not enough left for quiet prayer and ,bible-reading4 ,then here is a little weight that must be laid aside4 ,another is at school1 and finds that he gets no good1 but a little harm1 when he goes much with a certain boy4 ,then he must lay that weight aside4 ,another takes a story-book up to bed1 and reads it while nurse is brushing her hair1 and up to the last minute1 and then her head is so full of the story that she only says words when she kneels down1 and can not really pray at all4 ,can she doubt that this is a weight which must be laid aside8 ,it may seem hard to lay our pet weight down2 but oh1 if you only knew how light we feel when it is laid down1 and how much easier it is to run the race which ,god has set before us6 #cj4 ,thirtieth ,day4 ,the ,shield of ,salvation4 ,thou hast also given me the shield of ,thy salvation4--#b ,sam4 xxii4 #cf4 ,this beautiful little text teaches us a very precious truth4 ,it shows us that the salvation which the ,lord ,jesus came to bring is not only salvation at last1 just escaping hell1 but that it is salvation now1 and salvation in everything ,salvation does not only mean victory at last1 but it is like a broad1 shining shield1 given to us in the midst of the battle1 coming between us and the poisoned arrows and sharp sword-thrusts of the enemy4 ,it is a shield not only to keep us from death1 but to keep us from being hurt and wounded4 ,it is the shield which the ,captain has given us to use now1 as well as the crown which ,he will give when the warfare is ended4 ,how are you to use this shield8 what does it really mean for you8 ,it means1 that if you have come to the ,lord ,jesus to be saved1 ,he does not merely say ,he will save you1 but that you are saved1 that ,he saves you now4 ,and this is how you are to use it--believe it1 and be sure of it1 because you have ,his word for it2 and then1 when a temptation comes1 tell the enemy that he has nothing to do with you1 for you are saved2 that you belong to ,jesus1 and not to him1--look up and say1 ,jesus saves me6 ,will ,he fail you8 ,did ,he ever let any find themselves deceived and mistaken who looked up in faith and confidence to ,him1 trusting in ,his great salvation8 ,never6 and never will you find this shield of ,his salvation fail to cover you completely4 ,satan himself can not touch you when you are behind this shield6 ,lift it up when you see him coming1 even ever so far off1 and you will be safe4 ,jesus saves me every day1 ,jesus saves me every night2 ,jesus saves me all the way1 ,through the darkness1 through the light4 #ca4 ,thirty-first ,day4 ,i will love ,thee ,i will ,thee for wearing the thorns on ,thy brow2 ,if ever ,i loved ,thee1 my ,saviour1 'tis now6 ,i will love ,thee in life1 ,i will love ,thee in death1 ,and praise ,thee as long as ,thou lendest me breath3 ,and say1 when the death-dew lies cold on my brow1 ,if ever ,i loved ,thee1 my ,saviour1 'tis now6
